The restaurant itself is nice, clean, and the service was good. However, the Pho didn't taste right. The broth was not very flavorful, I could only taste onion, the noodles are wide, and the meat was chewy. I went home feeling sick and the next day I had stomach issues.

Came in on a rainy Sunday night but they're unfortunately out of noodles...They're still new so things may run out as they still get the hang of things. Family-run, very friendly. Vibes are cozy. We ended up picking a few things from the Rice section. My Shaking Beef was nice and tender. Generous rice portion, could use more beef though. The sauce was delicious. Came with a side if soup too, which was warm but a tad salty. Their Northern-Style Spring Rolls were fresh and crispy. Super fresh and hot. Overall, I think it's a good new Vietnamese spot for the area but not anything life changing.

We came on a busy Saturday and got seated quickly. We had the Saturday special which was Steamed Rice Rolls w/ Grilled Pork/Chicken and the sauce that came with it was tangy and bright and delicious. I loved the texture of this dish. I ordered the veggie pho with beef broth too. It was complex and comforting to my soul. I'd love to come back! Inside was cute and felt like walking inside an older home. My only suggestion is to please get rid of the air fresheners inside. They were unnecessary and I want to smell the amazing food not the fake scents.

My go-to Vietnamese restaurants in Portland typically serve southern/central Vietnamese food so I was craving some northern Vietnamese delicacies without traveling to the mainland. I was elated when I saw that Pho Hathanh was a new establishment offering northern Vietnamese cuisines in the metro Portland area. The place is cozy and the hospitality definitely made the dining experience feel homey. The crab noodle soup had a clean yet flavorful broth with a decent portion of ingredients for the price point. The intestine porridge was warm, hearty, and the intestines appeared well prepared and cooked. Flavors tasted authentic as well. The coffee was decent but nothing too noteworthy.

Very good and authentic food. Excellent service, friendly owners. The house vibe is unique and welcomed.

We came here for lunch as we were in the area. Its a nice cozy place that makes you feel like eating at home. We ordered an assortment of items to share - potsickers, salad rolls, bun cha, northern style beef stew w/banh mi, special banh mi, and shaking beef. The food came out pretty quickly which was nice. The server was very polite and quick to get us anything we needed. My favorite out of the items we ordered was the special banh mi. The bread was nicely toasted and the banh mi had some substance in it. I thought the shaking beef could have a bit more char on the meat and more flavor in the meat for the bun cha.

Solid bowl of northern pho! It's pretty hard to find northern Vietnamese food in Portland. Not pictured is the bun cha. I've only had bun cha a handful of times but this one was delightful. The pho was flavorful and sometimes I do crave thick noodles so this hit the spot. I will have to return to try some of the other menu items and the weekend specials.

Cute restaurant, good food we got pho and the bun cha ! Yummy and liked the setting ( we went mid afternoon it was very quiet and easy to get service)... wished there was lettuce or rice paper to make wraps with the bun cha.

I saw a TikTok video of this place and wanted to go try it. I haven't seen any other place with bun cha Hanoi on their menu or the fresh pho noodles. The pho was amazing the broth very flavorful and light does not need hoisin or siracha. As for the bun cha Hanoi it was such a big proportion and the flavor was perfectly light and refreshing. I will definitely be back to try out more.

The egg noodle bowl on the top with fried chicken and tofu was phenomenal. The chicken was similar to fish sauce wings and the tofu was very caramelized and had a nice salty coating of sauce. The bottom was nem nướng and pork with the woven noodles. It was a very big portion, but the fresh herbs/veggies made it feel balanced. An order of spring rolls were also ordered, but wasn't in the photo. It was ordered with crispy pork belly. Based on some reviews, I was skeptical about ordering the pork belly, but I was pleasantly surprised. The skin was very crispy and you could hear the crunch from across the restaurant. The restaurant is very open with big windows, but I liked the concept of the open kitchen look. The service was really good. We ended up ordering pork belly and shrimp for our spring rolls and the worker politely came by and told us they were out of it. He was able to accommodate for it and was very kind about it. Even though you can order at the table with a QR code, the staff was very attentive.

It's a Vietnamese delicacy you can't find anywhere else in Oregon so I'm glad to have to a Portland restaurant to offer this. They give a plentiful amount of fresh herby veggies combo with fresh hot rice noodles alongside tender flavorful char siu and SUPER CRISPY pork belly! The staff are friendly and the store is extremely aesthetic, the interior has this spin on modern Vietnamese style of decorations. Great interiors that's won't disappoint your date. I absolutely recommend coming here for their niche Vietnamese food!

Pho Hung on Powell…read moreis a long-standing Portland staple, so expectations were decently high, but our visit ended up being a mixed bag. * Rice Plates (Cơm Tấm): * The Grilled Pork, Shrimp, & Crispy Tofu Skin plate was easily the highlight. The pork had a great char, the shrimp were grilled well, and the crispy wrap added a nice textural crunch. Steamed broccoli was a fresh addition, and the side broth hit the spot. * The Pork Chops with Shredded Pork Skin (Bì) & Egg Meatloaf (Chả Trứng) plate was decent, though a bit average compared to other spots nearby. The flavors were fine, but nothing particularly stood out. * Noodle Soup: The spicy beef noodle soup had a rich, deep color and a generous amount of fresh herbs and onions, though the broth lacked a bit of the punch and depth of flavor I was hoping for. Overall: It's a convenient neighborhood option with generous portions and fast service, but given the quality of Vietnamese food along Powell and 82nd, it lands right in the middle for me. Good, but not quite a standout.
