Been coming here for years! The owner is so humble and sweet and has the best smile on his face all the time. I try to call to place takeout orders, I always get the shrimp pho with a Thai tea boba. They are very generous with the broth, and add in veggies and I appreciate it. This is my go-to for comfort meal or when I'm feeling under the weather. I'll never stop speaking up about how delicious this place is!!! Support family owner business very spacious inside, and perfect for first date or family meal

Honestly the only place I'll get Vietnamese food! I decided to try this place because it's the only one I can find that has Bo kho and isn't pho but you can have it either with the pho noodles or bread (banh mi) We ordered the Beef Stew with bread and a Rice Beef Dish, plus a side of egg rolls to share. The Beef Stew (Bò Kho) - the broth was flavorful, the beef was tender, and the bread was the best. Rice Beef Dish (Cơm Thịt Nướng) - the dish was also delicious and very juicy. My favorite appetizer was the egg rolls and it goes perfect wrapped with lettuce then dipped in their fish sauce! The service was quick and all the uncles were friendly. The restaurant was clean and inviting. We will absolutely be back to try the pho next time, but it's going to be hard to resist ordering the beef stew again! Highly recommend.

Came here on Monday dinner after a few delays getting into Burbank airport. The parking lot is one way just as a heads up! Food came out fast and the broth hit the spot. Not too greasy or salty. We got the house pho and we silently ate since we here hungry. The servers seemed like family and they were so attentive and nice. Just remember to head to the counter to pay. They take card here just so you know.

Best pho I've ever had. The broth was amazing, so tasty and flavorful. Eggs rolls were great as well. Vietnamese coffee was incredible just the right about of sweetness and strong coffee flavor. The service was quick and super friendly. I wish they were open during the weekend so I could make it out here more frequently.

The service here is great. The food is amazing. The ambience is not bad. I've been to other places that have fun, but I always seem to come back here. I would definitely recommend it if you enjoy eating pho.

Solid spot for Bahm mi's. For two sandwiches and fried egg rolls it was $26 before tip so a very affordable lunch The service is super fast too I saw some peoples pho's coming in within minutes

Came back here for the first time in a long time. They were busy for a Tuesday night but we got a table within moments. They turn tables around quickly. We got water and our order was taken within 5 minutes of being seated, if not less. The pictures show our steaming hot orders, the meat was perfectly cooked. We also got some fried egg rolls , not pictured, which were amazing and piping hot even after we'd let them sit for a few mins. I asked for extra lime when we ordered and as you can see they definitely delivered. All of the limes were juicy, never dry and pulpy. The place is clean and orderly.

Ask the Community - Pho Hot

Are you open on the weekends?

    They don't

I am allergic to nightshades including tomatoes potatoes, peppers, and eggplant. This includes seasonings such as chili powder, cayenne pepper, and paprika. Are the banh mi sandwiches or pho broth safe for my diet?

    It’s in your head

Since the recent openings for restaurants, are they offering sit down dining?

We will resume our normal business hours and indoor dining starting 06/21/2021. We are currently training our staff to meet safety measures recommended by LA County. Thank you.

My husband is allergic to seafood and seaweed, and doesn't eat beef or pork. Is the chicken pho or vegetarian pho good options?

    Yes

Does the beef broth use bouillon cubes? Does it contain wheat or soy?

It tasted pretty fresh as in no cubes...but of course calling them and finding out would be best

Does the pho contain MSG here?

There is no proof that MSG causes ill effects. That was a bunch of 70s racist lies. Please add MSG!

The food was delicious and authentic. We had the trio of appetizers, composed of egg rolls, springs…read morerolls, and cheese wontons. All were delicious. We also had a filet minon pho and a combination rice plate with grilled shrimp and pork, both of which we were outstanding. Would highly recommend.

A super solid place to stop by, especially before catching a movie at The Burbank 16…read more I literally walk pass by this place all the time on my way to the movie theater. Finally got a chance to come-in & I'm glad that I did. Although, I have my "go-to whole-in-the-wall Vietnamese" place in the SFV, there's always room for more businesses to support & Mama Hong's Vietnamese Kitchen - Burbank definitely deserves your patronage. It's a welcome step-up from your typical no-frills Vietnamese place, so the vibe / decor is especially great if you're introducing someone to Vietnamese cuisine for their first time. FOOD **PRO TIP: Go "Family-Style" = split multiple dishes amongst your table so you can have the opportunity to try multiple delishes dishes at once. That's the move. Shaken Beef Garlic Noodles - 9.2 / 10 **GET THIS DISH!!!!!** I did my "due diligence" before coming here & I 100% knew that I wanted to try this particular dish before coming here. In fact, the person whom I came here with wanted this too. (She didn't tell me in-advance). Needless to say, when multiple people have the exact same dish in-mind, you know that this is a good sign. Strips of lean, tender, juicy, quality, tenderloin steak, well-sautéed onions, plenty of garlic, served on top of a bed of al dente noodles. What's not to love? It's like eating a big, bowl, or spaghetti, but without the overpowering tomato sauce. Don't let the simplicity fool you. Yeah, I could very, well likely make this dish as home, but sometime it' just nice to leave some things to the pros. You can't go wrong with this dish. It sounds delicious in theory & it delivers on all fronts in reality. Spicy Garlic Chicken Rice - 8.9 / 10 A nice counterpoint to the heavier beef dishes that are offered, the well-seasoned, not-overly dry, but not-too spicy chicken is substantial. Round that off with an adequate portion of perfectly-steamed white rice & some fresh veggies (your standard pickled carrots, daikon radish, & lettuce), & you got yourself a solid chicken dish. Grilled Ribeye Steak Sandwich - 9.1 / 10 I hadn't had breakfast, so I was definitely craving a bit more to satisfy my hunger. This beef variant of a traditional Vietnamese Bahn-Mi hit the spot. Since I'm used to eating more economical + fattier cuts of beef for my bahn-mi, it's a rather welcome + modern twist to be using more premium cuts of steak (I honestly might steal this move the next time I whip-up a bahn-mi at home). It was hearty & you can definitely tell that the quality is there. I could be mistaken, but I wouldn't be surprised if there was some fish sauce that was used to marinade the steak. It makes for such a well-rounded, savory flavor. The crisp veggies, & aromatic cilantro round-out all taste sensations on a fresh baguette. In many ways, this is the fancier, upgraded, "Rolls Royce", of a typical whole-in-the wall Vietnamese spot's bahn-mi, & that is sometimes what you want. I would definitely get this again, especially if I was on-the-go. DRINKS Mango Jasmine Iced Tea - 8.9 / 10 Don't sleep on Mama Hong's handcrafted beverages. The mango jasmine iced tea provides everything that I want in thirst-quenching drink. You get the tropical tones of the mango offset by the herbaceous jasmine of the tea. I especially appreciate that it's not overly sweet. I especially dig that their handcrafted beverages come in customized branded plastic packaging with that soda-can lever-opener-style lid. You just don't get that anywhere. The staff is super accommodating. Shout-out to Mariska for being such a friendly & warm server. Granted, I came on a Sunday afternoon (around 2pm-3:30pm), don't be surprised if you have to wait because I can see this place being quite the trendy spot. Granted it's casual, it's still feels a bit nicer/fancier than the more relaxed bars, fast-casual spots in the surrounding area. You can't go wrong with Mama Hong's Vietnamese Kitchen - Burbank. A solid choice, indeed.

Vegan Bahn Mi? I…read moreasked if the bahn mi was vegan. She said yes. I ate it. It was friggin delicious. The end. ***not really? Here are the details: PARKING This place is in the shopping area near Vons. Easy to park. SEATING inside is a beautiful casual space. It was warm out today, but the air con was pleasant. Unfortunately there is no outdoor seating. SERVICE Everything is made to order. If you think your food is coming slowly, I think there are only a few people in the kitchen, and LOTS of take away call in orders. There is a special space for "pick up" to wait in the back. One server. BUSY. Like: "too busy to chat" busy. Be ready with your order. One server at lunch on virtual roller skates getting through the end of lunch rush well. The menu says "vegetarian bahn mi". My receipt said "vegetarian sandwich". Probably just the missing something like siracha mayo? Idk. I asked if it was vegan, they said "yes", rang it up, handed me a receipt and was gone before I asked more about it. It was DAMN GOOD FOOD Bahn mi VEGAN (?) Tofu delicious and soft Bread crunchy outside soft delicious inside Pickles (kinda soft, not so crunchy) Jalepeno (always vary, but today flavorless, no heat at all) PRICE A little high for bahn mi sando, but worth it to support this restaurant's efforts.
