Service is great! Food quality is one of the best, compared to other DTFs I've been to. Not much of a wait for brunch with a reservation.
We had dinner at Din Tai Fung in Glendale on a Thursday night, my husband, son, and me, and really enjoyed our meal. It's definitely on the pricey side, but the food is filling, flavorful, and great for sharing. We ordered quite a bit! The cucumber salad was YUM; crisp, refreshing, and the perfect amount of spice. We also had the steamed broccoli, plus both the chicken and pork Xiao Long Bao, which are always fun and delicious. The standout for me was the spicy chicken wontons. The flavor of that sauce was AMAZING. I seriously wanted to put it on everything! The shrimp fried rice was another favorite, light, buttery, and really tasty without feeling heavy. My husband loved the fried pork chop. And then... dessert! The shaved snow with mango was incredibly light and flavorful. Just be prepared to eat it quickly because it melts FAST! Personally, I'd love the option of having just the shaved snow and fresh fruit without the mango sauce. But the absolute dessert winner was the chocolate dumplings with sea salt cream. Heaven in a dumpling. The warm chocolate with that slightly salty cream was the perfect way to end the meal. Overall, a really enjoyable family dinner with lots of dishes we'd order again. The service was great, but be prepared for a really long wait if you don't have a reservation! When we left we heard them telling someone it was a 2 hour wait! I'm giving it 4 stars primarily because of the price, but the quality and flavors were excellent.
My usual location for DTF! I like this location a lot because it's located inside of the Glendale Galleria (a mall) and conveniently across from the Americana, so it makes a great family outing! The interior is super nice with a dimly lit aesthetic for a classy dining experience. Food and service is always great here. The waiters are very attentive, constantly checking in without the sense of hovering, and they're very informative for first-timers! The food always hits, no critique needed. Overall, this location is great for casual lunch or dinner!
Came to Din Tai Fung for a late lunch on a Wednesday afternoon, so there was no wait. We got the pork XLB, cucumber, green beans, pork cutlet fried rice, and chocolate XLB. This was more than enough food for two of us, but we took home the leftovers. The worker was super kind and did not charge us for the green beans because we barely ate it. It wasn't because they were bad in any way, we were just genuinely so full from all the other food. This was my first time trying the pork cutlet fried rice, and the pork was so soft and flavorful. I would definitely get this fried rice again. I also love the chocolate XLB for dessert, and you can never go wrong with the pork XLB. I love Din Tai Fung, and would definitely recommend coming here, especially with a large group of people so you can share lots of food.
You already know it's going to be good. This place is the Cheesecake Factory of dumpling houses. Make a reservation or stop here first when you get to the mall, then go do something else. If you're doing a walk-in with a group, everyone has to be there or you're SOL. Also let them know everyone has arrived because that seems to help. I got the text to head back by the time we walked over to the conveyor belt sushi place. Then you check in again and get a buzzer. That's the last step before getting your table. I don't know when this place isn't busy. You can come at weird times and you'll still wait. I won't wait more than 45 minutes anywhere anymore. The funny thing is it never feels busy once you're sitting down. It's calm. Then you remember there are like 100 people waiting outside and maybe don't sit there forever. Order the Kurobuta Pork Xiao Long Bao because if you don't... why are you here? This was my third visit and they still ask if you've been there before. I guess some people have never had soup dumplings before because there's a "how to eat them" card on the table. Somebody must've bitten into one immediately and blasted soup all over themselves. So yeah... don't do that. The waiters are... there. They do their job. Nothing memorable. I thought our food took longer than it should've and even the water took awhile. If you're in the front room, the bathroom is FAR. Like you're gone long enough people at your table might wonder if you're okay. Also the men's room was out of order when I went, which would've been nice to know before I walked all the way back there. Anyway... Cheesecake Factory of dumpling houses. That's it. That's the goal. I'm sure your kid can get chicken fingers too.
Food and service are always great at this location! Recommend making a reservation though because it gets pretty busy even on weekdays. You can't go wrong with anything you order but the cucumber and soy noodle salad is always good to start, followed by the pork chop noodle soup, xiao long bao, and spicy pork wonton. Their cocktail selection is also pretty good - the lychee martini is my favorite!
Had a wonderful lunch with my daughter, one of our favorite places to eat. We are happy to have at the bar and Elijah and Sam were amazing. Excellent service as usual. Food is always amazing consistent and beautiful ambience. They did an amazing job with the restaurant.

Lines and wait times can get long (we waited about 1 hour and 30 min on a Thursday night), so plan ahead! There is free parking as part of the Glendale Galería mall. Service was great! Robert took care of us and gave us a rundown of the menu as first timers and offered suggestions while checking in on us. The food was overall really great!! There were definitely standout items like the noodles w/ diced beef and peppers, the chocolate buns, the pork chop fried rice, and the black pepper beef tenderloin which was my favorite. The dishes standout w/ the sauces they come with!! The veggies like bokchoy and the cucumbers were ok. I also found the soup dumplings to be quite bland and not very hot. Ambiance is cute, location is big and bathrooms and huge and clean!
Din Tai Fung never disappoints. It's been a few years since I've been back to this location, but the food and experience were just as good as I remembered. We usually order the same favorites: XLB Pork - 5/5 XLB Pork & Crab - 5/5 Cucumbers - 5/5 Spicy Wontons - 5/5 (my favorite) Truffle XLB - 5/5 My son tried the Shrimp & Kurobuta Pork Shao Mai, but he wasn't really a fan of it. I believe you can make reservations or join the waitlist ahead of time. We arrived right when they opened and were seated immediately, which was nice.
This was an exceptional experience with wonderful service, delicious food, and great dining experience. We were served by Joshua who provided amazing experience. He frequently ensured we had water and gave us updates on our items. As this was my first time, he explained the menu and dining experience to me. His service was great! The hostess was also great at getting us checked in. Now for the food. Amazing! This place operates mainly on a sharing family-style basis so it was great to get a little taste of everything. I tried the chicken fried rice, cucumber salad, garlic string beans, chocolate dumplings and the classic Xiao Long Bao (pork). Happy to report that everything was amazing. The little ginger soy vinegar sauce is so great and I love how it's customizable to each guest. The actually restaurant was a bit busy, which was expected. I went on a Friday night and had a 1 hr wait time after putting my name on the waitlist. Expect a little bit of a wait at popular times, but there's plenty of shops to browse in the meantime. I used the Yelp waitlist to wait in a virtual queue which went very smooth. Overall, great experience!

Food was amazing! no complaints at all, I absolutely enjoy the string beans with garlic, it's my favorite and very comforting. The lychee martini is a must try! It tasted amazing. Service was great. We had a fairly large group but they were able to assist us all! Ambiance was good! nice and dimly lit. I love that there's seating inside and outside! Definitely recommend making reservations so you don't have to wait hours to get a table!

Update: bigger portions it seems, food on point as I remember and service is wonderful. Restaurant itself is always clean, low lit depending on where you sit and accommodating to small and large parties. I haven't been here in a while but will plan to come back as often as I used to before. read more

Our first time at their new location. First of all - it is very loud inside. We ordered the garlic green beans, noodles with minced pork and steamed chicken potstickers. Everything was really good. Maxwell and Arman were exceptional waiters! read more
Would recommend putting yourself down on the waitlist at soon as you arrive, then shopping in the area while you wait. For a weekend dinner, the wait can still be a couple of hours long. There is also a physical line for bar seating, which only took us about 20 minutes to get seated. Everyone knows DTF for their soup dumplings, however, the green beans here are a must order as well. They are extremely crispy and would be impossible to recreate at home without the heat of an industrial kitchen. If you have room for dessert, definitely try the mango shave ice. read more
The service was really great and we were able to be seated a little earlier than our reservation time. The spicy chicken wontons and green beans were delicious. Not pictured but I also tried the vegetarian lo mein and a chocolate bun. The lo mein tasted great! The chocolate bun was alright but definitely not worth the price. You can find better tasting chocolate filled buns in other spots around LA. Overall, the food is great but not worth the expensive price. It's good for a "once in a while" meal but not a great place to eat at on the regular. read more
I had my first experience at Din Tai Fung a few months ago visiting my sister and friend and it was a good one! Thanks social media for introducing me to this spot, and hearing it from my Glendale based sister! I made the reservation a month in advance to ensure we had a table. We get there, and silly me, I made it at the wrong location! I was pretty upset because I had been wanting to try this spot for over a year. Oops! The hosts/staff were SO kind and accommodating, they got us seated within 10 minutes. We grabbed a glass of the wine at the bar while waiting. The ambiance is lovely - spacious, warm, cozy, modern, sleek. The three of us were seated at a large booth and almost instantly greeted by our server with waters. He was incredibly knowledgeable and friendly. We already had wine but opted for another when the wine ran dry. They have a fairly extensive drink menu, and a VERY extensive food menu. We ordered a LOT of plates to share, clearly we were excited. The dishes we went with were the Cucumber Salad, Pork Xiao Long Bao, Chicken Dumplings, Chicken Spicy Wontons, String Beans with Garlic, Shrimp Fried Rice, Noodles with Diced Beef & Peppers, and lastly the Sesame Dessert buns. My favorite dish was definitely the Shrimp Fried Rice, probably the best I have ever had. The cucumbers were delicious; yes they make a simple dish absolutely amazing. I am more of a fan of chicken than pork, so would opt for those Xiao Long Bao next time. The Spicy Wontons had a perfect amount of spice, as well as the noodles. Although I am not a huge dessert fan, I did really enjoy my bite of the Sesame bun! Overall, would I go back? Absolutely. The food was GREAT and the price point was actually not bad. I was truly surprised that it was under $200 (if I remember correctly) for our entire meal, and we got a lot! The service was stellar. I do think that "content creators" overhype this place though. Was it good? Yes! I would surely recommend it, but not recommend in a "OMG, no reservations, we HAVE to try it, so let's just get the last minute, 9pm reservation" type situation. I live in NC and have had many similar type restaurants that are just as good! read more

DTF is one of our favorite places to eat. We decided to try this location because of the free parking. This location is our favorite, excellent waitstaff, free parking and pretty spacious restaurant. We showed up 45 minutes early for our reservation and we were promptly accommodated and sat at a table. Here's what we ordered: 1. Cucumber salad: Crisp Persian cucumbers combined with cuts of mild fresno chili peppers and sliced, fresh garlic, all tossed together with drizzles of sesame oil and signature DTF chili oil (not spicy) 5/5 2. Vegetable & Kurobuta Pork Spicy Wontons (handmade): vegetables paired with Kurobuta pork, served with DTF signature house spicy sauce and topped with garlic and green onion. 5/5 3. Sweet & Sour Pork Baby Back Ribs: tender baby back ribs are evenly coated with DTF house-made sweet and sour sauce. 5/5 4. Shrimp & Kurobuta Pork Potstickers: Pan-fried to perfection, crispy pan-fried dumplings filled with Kurobuta pork and fresh shrimp paired with DTF mildly-sweet, house-made potsticker sauce. 5/5 5. Fried Noodles with Skirt Steak: premium skirt steak strips tossed in a wok, with fresh vegetables and DTF stir-fried noodles burst with umami flavor. Served with crunchy napa cabbage, tender spinach leaves, and green onion-infused oil. Amazing!!! 5/5 6. Fried Noodles with Chicken: chicken breast meat tossed in a wok with fresh vegetables and DTF stir-fried noodles. Served with crunchy napa cabbage, tender spinach leaves, and green onion-infused oil. Delicious but the Skirt Steak Noodles beats this dish 5/5 7. Sea Salt Cream Iced Tea: A hand-whipped cream atop lightly-sweetened house-brewed black iced tea. 5/5 Restaurant, tables and restrooms were very clean. Waitstaff were very friendly and attentive. Parking: Since Din Tai Fung is located in the Galleria, we parked in the mall garage which was convenient and easy and allowed for lots of options as well. Ambiance: The entire ambiance and atmosphere of the restaurant felt modern, sleek and well organized all reflecting their high level of detail and consistency. The minimal designs and warm lighting, felt chic and comfortable. Food: We ordered the chicken xia long bao, vegan wontons, garlic string beans, and the chocolate and mochi xiao long bao with sea salt cream. The chicken xlb were solid and did the job, nothing particularly standout, but still warm, comforting, and satisfying in the soup dumping way. The vegan wontons were a highlight of the dinner. They were well balanced, the texture and how they paired with the wonton sauce made the dish memorable. The garlic string beans were decently seasoned and provided a refreshing and satisfying break between the xlb and dumplings. After a while everything feels like it tastes the same. The chocolate and mochi xialongbao with the sea salt cream were the perfect dessert. The combination of the warm melted chocolate, chewy mochi texture, and touch of sea salt made them rich without overwhelming, and just a fun way to end the meal Service: The service was like a well-oiled machine as per usual. Highly organized, swift, attentive service, and very friendly and helpful staff all around. Never once have I had an issue with service. Overall: If you're looking for reliable service and decent ish food this is a good spot. I wish the food was as good as the service and aesthetics. read more

This was such a fun experience!! I went on a Sunday and there was a small wait for a table, but was able to walk up and sit at the bar with no wait! David made me a delicious cucumber gimlet and the Old Fashioned was so clean on the palette. I was not expecting drinks of this caliber and was pleasantly surprised. The xiao long bao was my favorite, especially paired with some chili oil. Everything was cooked to perfection. And my goodness, the chocolate dumplings were to die for! I haven't stopped thinking about them. Huge shoutout to Eyca, our server, who was extremely helpful and nice. read more

We love this place -- the food is always on point and the servers are consistently nice and attentive. It's one of those spots we keep coming back to and honestly still haven't gotten sick of. Everything always tastes fresh and flavorful, and the soup dumplings never disappoint (and the Chocolate XLB!) The biggest downside is definitely the wait. It's almost always busy, and even after getting seated, the food can take a little while to come out. That said, it's still worth the wait every time. Pro tip: the bar area is usually open for walk-ins if you're dining as a party of 2, which can save a lot of time during peak hours. read more

The food was absolutely delicious, and everything we ordered was amazing. But what made our experience truly memorable was our server, Katherine T. She was so friendly, welcoming, and always had a genuine smile on her face. She made us feel comfortable from the moment we sat down and was incredibly attentive without being intrusive. I've never experienced service like this before. It honestly feels unreal like in the best way possible. The moment you even think about ordering a drink, it's like someone is already on their way to your table with it. Water never runs low, and everything arrives almost instantly. What really stood out is how organized and attentive the staff is. There's someone clearing dishes, someone specifically handling dumpling baskets, and even someone dedicated to bringing out dessert. It feels like they have a whole team for every little detail, and somehow it all runs perfectly. The food was absolutely amazing fresh, flavorful, and worth every bite .but the service is what truly sets this place apart. It's not just good, it's an experience. Definitely a must-try if you want to see what top-tier hospitality really looks like. Our server, Robert, went above and beyond! It was our first time at this restaurant, and he took the time to explain every dish to us and even showed us the best way to enjoy our food. Even though the restaurant was busy, he was always available and made sure to check on us throughout our meal. We truly appreciated him and his amazing service! The restaurant itself was great as well, and all of the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. Everything was very clean, and we had such a great experience. Idk I honestly feel like you're just paying for the name. Don't get me wrong the service here was 10/10 But the food here was so mid the dumplings tasted almost like the Trader Joe's dumplings they were meh. I can't recommend Dim Tai Fung in Glendale enough. Between four of us, we sampled nearly the entire menu, and every dish was phenomenal. The flavors were on point, and the service was fantastic. If you love this cuisine, put your name on the waitlist, head to the Glendale Galleria, and enjoy one of the best restaurants in LA. You can park in the ^ Galleria lot for free and walk to the restaurant or they have 2 hour validated valet parking.

Everything is from the kitchen, no carts at all. Fancier type of dimsum restaurant.
