Excellent Pho, lots of meat/topping options, slightly lighter broth as I like (not overly salty or greasy) and perfect noodles. The portions are not huge which tends to be the case at most pho places (I could actually finish my pho!) One major negative is the service. It usually takes about 30-45 mins for a basic Pho and they either get the order wrong even if you order by number, or forget the soda, and don't even expect them to refill your water. read more

Now, I've been eating pho since back when Jncos were hot and this place just lackes the simplicity of pho. The service was eh, the pho took forever to be served... yes, it took them a good 20 minutes to bring us 3 bowls of pho! (I can see why they might need a TV for their patrons) I'd give them a break if the place was packed, but sadly it wasn't. Rather disappointed Pho House. The food here pretty good. I've been here a few times during lunch and the place is never too crowded so service is pretty fast. The pho is never a bad choice. The soup has good taste. The summer rolls and spring rolls are pretty standard, no complaints. The sandwiches are a bit more than I was expecting but they put more meat and stuffing into the sandwich, which make them worth it. Bottom line, if you like Vietnamese food and you're in the area this is a great place for a quick bite. read more

The grilled meats are delicious. Perfectly seasoned and nuoc mam is delicious. I love they give you the rooster hot sauce too. Banh mi was okay. I got the ham. I always knew there was good stuff hiding in the far foreign lands of Maryland. I have never been to Germantown before, but had to this past week for work. I'm really getting to know Montgomery County real well for this job! Anyway, on this particular day I was craving pho, so a quick yelp search revealed a 4-star one right across the street! Lucky meeee. Boy did it hit the spot. Usually pho is pho, stuff your mama makes you at home if you're lucky enough to have a Vietnamese mama. It's not something I would think to write a review about, but I had such a pleasant experience here, that I now want to write one. (The other exception was Pho Real in SS for very different reasons.) The meat at Pho 75 is better, but the broth here is absolutely slurp worthy. I also love that they offer a more extensive menu than other pho joints. It reminds me of Hai Duong in Eden, but with banh mi too! I hope to be back sooner than later. read more

Update review: Been meaning to do a update but I always forget!!! So after my initial review I had decided to try this place again. And they have surely redeemed themselves. Def my go to spot here in Germantown. And their Bun Bo Hue is legit. What I love even more is that they give you a lot of Mam ruoc (shrimp paste)!!!!! Other Vietnamese restaurants in MoCO will give you barely a quarter of a table spoon in fear of scaring the other customers away, But not Pho House. I was soo happy, bun bo hue is not bun bo without the mam ruoc! Overall, I would recommend this place for anyone in the area. =] read more

Not a place to order Bun Bo Hue. I've ordered it many times from different Vietnamese restaurants, and this one was the one that I had a problem with. The flavors wasn't married together like they should have been. It didn't seem like it was stewed. It tasted like broth with oil and tomatoes. I took two sips of this dish and couldn't finish. I asked the waitress, if the cook was Vietnamese. She said yes, and asked why. I told her it wasn't good, and explained. She said that it was just my taste buds . I've tried the pho here a long time ago, but don't recall much about it. This was before I became a more frequent pho-goer so guess I'm not one to judge anyway. All I remember about it was someone complaining that it was more expensive than the usual pho places, but is it? IDK. Anyway, so recently one of my coworkers was surprised to hear that of all the Vietnamese restaurants I've been to, I've tried nothing but their pho..and recommended that I try the Vietnamese Grilled Chicken on Rice. So on one rainy lunch break day, my craving for Vietnamese food suddenly emerged. I ventured to this nearby pho restaurant and low and behold, ordered their Grilled Chicken on Noodles. To sum up what it is, it's a bowl of cold squiggly rice noodles topped with a variety of raw veggies including lettuce, cucumber, carrots, and bean sprouts, and of course grilled chicken. Think huge Vietnamese garden roll unraveled and dumped into a large bowl..since the portion was humongo!! Besides the fact that the service was unusually slow (as opposed to the people next to me who ordered pho and it came within a few minutes) everything else was good, except that I wasn't expecting it to be a chilled dish. Especially considering it was kind of nippy outside that day, I figured that I should've just got a warm bowl of pho instead. However, I have yet to try the Grilled Chicken on Rice! I came here last Sunday after posting on the forums an open invite to get sandwiches. Kunal M suggested I go get some Banh Mi, and so I did! Ba Le had been getting a lot of poor feedback about their bread lately, so I came down the road to Pho House. The restaurant was very clean and the food was delicious. Just like Ba Le, they have a buy 5 get 1 free. That's a good deal if you go with 3 people. I was full after 1.5 sandwiches. We had the spring rolls, the weird rolls with pork cartilage, and the banh mi (pork, chicken, and cold cut). The bread was awesome and the flavors spot-on. Two points of dissatisfaction: 1) I ordered a tea but never received it. A-ok because I wasn't charged for it. 2) Service was painfully slow. A-ok because the server was really cool and we didn't have anywhere to be. Beware!!! I had a small pho bowl and a bowl of bun bo hue (I was hungry). The pho was great, the broth was tasteful and the meat was soft and tender. The bun bo hue was kinda bland for me, didn't have a spice to it. I wasn't sure if that's how they make it here, but I'm used to bun bo hue having a kick to it. The service here was good though. I've been avoiding going into this restaurant because there are so many BAD pho spots in the area. Thanks to Yelp reviews, I finally got enough courage to give them a try. Chicken pho was very good. I'd like to try other menu items like their subs. The restaurant was clean and the staff was friendly and efficient. They passed the restroom test with flying colors. I did notice a leak from the ceiling (AC probably) and reported it to the manager who promised to take a look right away. I'll be back. Very close to home - score! read more

Well after about 40 more trips I figured it was time to redo my original review. Lately this has been my go to spot for my mid day meal / snack. My order is always the same as I get it to go and heat it up when I get home. #15 Large Raw, extra meat raw, uncooked noodles and no basil. They always get it right. Only once has there ever been 1 issue and they cooked the noodles on accident. The broth is light, meat extremely fresh and delicious. They give you just the right amount of cilantro and chilis to match the onion and lime. I also recently tried their sandwiches. The BBQ pork was delicious as was the cold cut special. Both are lacking a little bit of meat but for $4 you get a nice freshly toasted sub, meat, pickled veggies, chilis and cilantro. Delicious. Came here on Wednesday and the money is outside the pho. If you are looking to eat pho, honestly go somewhere else. My friend told me the other noodle dishes here were on point, which is why I gave it another chance. He was right. I ordered the S2 and wow that broth had so much flavor. My friend ordered the S3, which had a much lighter seafood broth, but was very refreshing and perfect for the weather that day. The bahn mi here is also very good. I ordered the lemongrass pork and my friend ordered the double egg. I actually liked the egg better, something about eggs man. Again, my advice for this place is don't just order the pho or you are missing out on all the other delicious items on the menu. read more

Looks pretty cool when you walk in. Leather bound chairs. Dual flat screen tv's. Nice red stained wooden tables. Then, when I wanted to order my usual soup, the chicken soup with yellow noodles, I get this snobby attitude like I had requested cheese wiz on top of my foie gras in a 5 star french restaurant. " uh you said yellow noodle? It won't taste the same, its usually with white noodle" Whatever, the soup sucked and the basil was old. I'll give them until 2010 when they go out of business 'cause they burned their bank loans on furniture instead of food. We order carryout from Pho House whenever it is really cold outside, want something comforting, or when we just want something besides pizza or chinese food. Occasionally we will eat here, but since we live so close we often just order out. They do charge a slight surcharge for carryout to cover the cost of the materials but we don't mind. Every time we step foot, we are always warmly welcomed. When we want to eat at the restaurant, we are escorted to a table and a server promptly arrives to take our order. When we want to order carryout, we are welcomed to the back of the restaurant where they take our order. The portion size is huge...even the small bowl is pretty big. If you are in the neighborhood and in the mood for some good noodles you should give this place a try. read more

The place is rather small, but has a decent menu offering. For appetizers, try the deep fried spring rolls with pork and shrimp, deliciously chewy on the outside and savory on the inside. For entrees, the lemongrass pork (or chicken) with vermicelli is pretty delicious. I have noticed that if you order it carry out, you get alot more meat for the money. The Banh Mi sandwiches are also delicious, starring the same lemongrass pork or chicken. The pho here has definite on and off days. On some days, it is super delicious (with a VERY savory broth, and fresh high quality meat), while on other days, it leaves something to be craved (the soup is watery, the meat isn't very fresh). This review is solely on the sandwiches. While tasty, the bread they use is too hard and has too much bread compared to other places in Eden. They give an ok amount of meat but for $4.25 a pop, i expect a mountain of meat on that sub! They also don't give enough liver pate. Their grilled pork is too salty and they douse it with soy sauce so its mad salty. I guess you gotta go to Virginia for some cheap good viet subs, or even better go live in So Cal. read more

With my new found love for Pho I was looking for some on a cold wintery evening for something warm and close to home. Found this place on yelp. I have to say it's really great. My wife is a vegetarian and she had the meatless pho, which she thoroughly enjoyed. I also wanted to try out the Vietnamese subs. So we orders a double fried egg sub. I have to say I could eat one of those for breakfast everyday. It had amazingly crunchy veggies and fried eggs. I myself had the white meat chicken pho. Wont get that again as it seemed like sliced frozen chicken breast that boiled in the broth itself. But otherwise loved the broth. The chicken pho at Cafe Asia in DC is way better. read more

I was immediately impressed with the decor of the place. Most Pho places have a bunch of white tables on white tile surrounded by white walls. This place has a very contemporary look and atmosphere with fantastic looking tables and chairs. I'm so used to eating in a Pho restaurant that looks like a prison cafeteria, this was just a pleasant surprise. I had my large pho to-go, and was surprised by the large bag they handed me when my order was ready. When I got home, I was so happy at the way they packed everything. Again, other places will dump your noodles in a large container, essentially packing and it into a giant noodle cube. Here, they only put the broth in the container. They placed my noodles neatly in a styrofoam container, along with cooked beef and raw beef. Green onions, basil, jalapenos and bean sprouts were served on the side as well. When I went home, I actually had fun making the soup. Again, usually I have to soak the cube of noodles for a while...poking it with a chop stick every few seconds, eventually ending up with broken noodle soup. Now the pho itself, very tasty. The broth was perfect and the hot sauce and plum sauce add just the right heat and tang. The meat is well sliced and very delicious. Quick update.. I went back for lunch today... and got my Jackfruit boba tea. It was good, but too thick as though they pureed the fruit and mixed it with some tea and tapioca. Not that fresh fruit is a bad thing, but it didnt work so well in that medium. The eggrolls are really delicious, they are the best part of the whole restaurant. The pho is okay, a little watery for my taste. The bowls are huge though, but mostly full of noodles. The staff is okay, they are nice initially and then they kind of leave you alone. I only really come here after a night of partying, and have their pho. I don't go out of my way to come here. My mom had tummy issues after having their banh mi. She is used to saving the banh mi for a day or so later, and when she finally ate it. She had the runs for a day and a half. read more

This has to be the best Pho place in all of MD, and I've been to a lot of Pho places! It has amazing Banh Mi sandwiches/subs too, as well as good Pho and summer rolls with Peanut Sauce! The only thing they need is a vegetarian pho (TOFU) with vegetarian broth and they are set! The staff is fast and very courteous, and there is almost never a delay at all! This review is solely based on their bubble tea, I've never eaten here. I'm forever in search of the best bubble tea in the land and I read a few reviews remarking on the bubble tea here. So my daughter and I came running, excited to try something new. They offer about five different flavors (maybe six). My daughter tried the starfruit and I ordered the jasmine green tea. The starfruit was ... interesting. The green tea was actually a smoothie with boba, not what i was expecting and waaaay too sweet. The boba was so hard. There's not a single thing I'd change. They're consistently incredible. Food is fantastic, and the staff are polite and quick. Been going here regularly for about 7yrs now, and I thoroughly enjoy walking in and seeing so many familiar faces. There's just something so...comfortable about it. They don't try to be something they're not. It's simple decor, simple surroundings, and simply delicious pho. Everything I've ordered has been great, but my go to is a #15 no white onions, and crispy spring rolls. Lettuce begin. When you first sit on their chair, it's so comfortable! I know this sounds silly, but their chairs are on point! So when I was there, I got the Large #1. The broth wasn't that flavorful and the meat was kinda dry. But my friends and I agreed that the noodles were perfect! Overall, their phos are pretty average compare to other places. Why I gave them stars is because of the atmosphere and the customer services. The place was clean and they accommodated my party of 10! We told them it was okay that we could sit at separate tables, but they put tables together for us! Also, they were generous on their vegetables. When I asked for another plate of vegetables, they were not cheap and actually gave a lot! One of my new favorite places to go in the MD area. I have been to many of the Pho shops in the area going back to pho75. I have tired of them all but enjoy trying new ones out as they pop up. I caught this place after a friend took me to Lotte (next door) and when I finally made it back there to dine I was nicely surprised. The decor is very nice (2 flat screen TV's), comfy chairs, nice tables, and most importantly CLEAN (something that tends to lack at other pho rest.) -- one of my biggest pet peaves. The food was also good (just like most people I want more) but I have had the soup (pho) and also the lemon-grass chicken dish. Both were tasty and enjoyed my entire dining experience.
