We have been to Pho House twice now. Both times the food was exceptional. I am a huge fan of Pho and it was well prepared and delightful! 1. The fried dumplings and dipping sauce are amazing. 2. The eggs rolls (Shrimp) are also amazing. I like the dipping sauce for the egg rolls better than the dumplings but both are amazing. Not everyone in the house likes Pho so we ordered Chicken and Veggies (which was pronounced great by the consumer) and 3 bowls of Pho. One order included extra nam on the side (beef flank). By the time the boy was done filling his bowl with the meat there was nearly no room for noodles and booth. I guess he won't be a vegetarian anytime soon. We ordered by phone and picked the order up. It was well packed (didn't leak on the ride home) and was very warm still when we got there (about a 10 minute drive. 8 of those 10 minutes getting out of the horrible parking lot). Just finished eating here. The food was decent, not a lot of meat or noodles in the soup, but at least it was hot. The low rating is because of the wait staff. The service left much to be desired, and even though I asked for the check at my table, my server never brought my check to me. When I finally got up to pick up my check with the cashier, she looked at me as if she didn't understand a word I was saying. I forgot to mention that I had a sticky table, and asked to have the table wiped off before I could order my food. This used to be a great spot but after today, I wish I could give zero stars. When I came to pick up my order, the cashier didn't greet us. She just had us stand there while she was writing orders. She wasn't even on the phone. So, I turned to my cousin and said how rude the cashier was because she didn't even acknowledge us. That's when the cashier decided to speak. She said "I'm busy. You have to wait." By that time I lost it and told her she's rude. She continued to go back and forth and even said I can leave. Thankfully another employee helped us. I asked to speak with the manager and the other employee said she didn't know where he is. Then I asked for the cashiers name and the other worker said "we don't wear our names". That was obvious but I requested and got nothing. It's not worth it to patronize a business when the service is deplorable. Soup was warm, not hot. It was good enough but not enough to have dealt with the poor service. When we left she snickered and said goodbye. Funny how she was finally able to find her manners. Terrible. I won't go back. You try to support small businesses until you realize why they stay small. There's no growth without good customer service. Since I moved to Germantown this is my to go place and I've been going here for over a year but I will never go here again. I ordered a pick up order and once I got home I realized that the broth was put sideways and most of it spilled out ( I got a large) and was all over the bag and the other food I ordered. I called and told the person what happened and they told me I could come and get a new order. Upon arrival the lady proceeds to check me out as if I'm buying an entire new order. I then explained the situation to her and she suggested I only needed the broth. I didn't want to have to fish my hand into a plastic bag full of broth to get the other containers. I proceeded to explain to her and the entire time she was very rude and sarcastic and didn't want to help me what so ever. She eventually bring out a new order and this time the broth I received smells more like vinegar and has a very light color. I attached photos of the bag full of broth, and the old broth and new broth for comparison. I ended up not even eating the new order because it felt tampered with. Just finished the pho and crispy rolls we ordered for dinner tonight and both were delicious! Great flavor in the broth. I would recommend for take-out to hold back on using all your noodles right away because the ratio of broth to noodles seemed a bit off but it was no problem, probably the noodles absorbing more than they would have in for dine in. Since I have been in the DC area the last four years, I have gone to several pho houses (restaurants) and this is by far the best. The service is always friendly and attentive and even the owner takes personal time to stop by the table to see how everyone is doing, how the food is, and even to check up to see how you are doing. Great food, as close to traditional as you can get or that I have found so far. Great staff and service always no matter the time of day. I was with my sister and niece earlier today! We were so excited to eat in this pho house since this is like 2-3 mins away from where we live! The food is really decent except the Thai iced tea that my niece and sisters ordered! I didn't even have a chance to think about my order because she doesn't have any patience on waiting! So I just let it go. After she gets us our order o never saw her came back to our table! Never ask for anything if we needed something else, which we just let it go too! We already asked for a box and the check so we can go! My sister told the server named SANDRA about the Thai iced tea that it was bitter and as she can see it barely touches since the taste was so bad! So I let my sister told her about it, but her response was so RUDE! Pho House has the best pho (and other Vietnamese dishes) in the Montgomery County area. I always have a hard time ordering when I'm here because their offerings are all so good. Their pho is incredibly flavorful, delicious, and authentic! I also love their bun bo hue--again, the broth is rich and authentic. The pho and other soups are generously sized with lots of meat too, so I always end up with leftovers. I also recommend their grilled dishes, especially the grilled pork chops. The meat is perfectly seasoned, grilled, and juicy. Other recommendations: spring rolls and young coconut juice. I have not tried everything on their menu, but all the dishes I've tried have been really good. Oh, and my parents LOVE Pho House. They are old Vietnamese people who are very particular about their Vietnamese food, and they both agree that Pho House has the best Vietnamese cuisine in the area. read more

This review is way long over due. Ive been coming to Pho House for the past year and a half since it is so close to home. Typically I only order carry out. For me, pho broth is the most important component. Their broth is a bit on the sweeter side. Its not horrible, but its not the best. Ive also tried their grilled lemongrass chicken banh-mi. The french bread is on the dry side and I feel like they could place more meat in them. The grilled lemongrass vermicelli is probably my favorite dish from them. The small size is a good portion. I finished all the noodles and meat but couldn't finish the soup (way too full). Watch out for the jalapeños, they're real hot! The place was quiet but still lively and they had the food network on. I did not care for the boba. I ordered the chicken banh mi and pattie roll to-go. They both taste good - not excellent. The chicken was a bit salty and dry. And the banh mi is a bit smaller than the other places that I go to. Now, the real disappointment is the patties in the Pattie roll. It is so small that I can barely taste anything(half the size shown on the menu). I was really disappointed with the service recently. I have been ordering take out from Pho House since the pandemic. It's not the absolute best pho, but it's good enough for me to keep going back. Their banh mi is pretty good too. I called to order take out and went to pick it up. When I got there, the staff couldn't find my order. She asked multiple times what I ordered, so I told her. I understand they get really busy so I wasn't upset they may have lost my order. The employee demanded to see my phone to confirm that I placed the order. I said my husband placed the call not me. Ok is Pho House supposed to sound like Full House? I am just loving all these funny names of the vietnamese noodle house like Pho-King. It's located next to the Lotte market and for the longest time, I never thought anything of it until recently a coworker who is vietnamese told me that's his fav vietnamese restaurant in the area. The best part about it is Pho House has Bun Bo Hue on the menu, not only that they can make it the usual way with pig knuckles and oxtail or just the way I like it, with the eye round in pho. They had the spicy paste and the shrimp paste separate which are the two key ingredients of this amazingly addictive broth - and I can add as much as I want. At one point I find myself choking and sniffling but I just love it! Even the summer rolls are light and delicious! There're quite a spectrum of vietnamese dishes such as the sandwich, the grilled pork bun(rice noodles) dish and the bubble tea! The server listens carefully and pays attention to everything. He is great he even comes back to ask if everything is ok. You bet I'll be there again! Give me what I want and I give you 5 star as simple as that. read more

My husband and I had just come back from 3 weeks of travelling back to back. All the changes in climate and sitting in the germ-bubbles that are airplanes ensured that we were not going to return home without an unwelcome souvineer. Sure enough, halfway into our Vegas leg of our trip, we succumbed to the flu. Snotting and coughing and sniffling, we came home to arctic winds and a dreary fall. As the fridge was bereft of food, and all the Ny-Quil in all the world seemed to roll off this flu like water on a duck's back, we knew there was only one cure for what ailed us - pho. We came for hot, delicious, revitalizing pho...but alas, didn't find it. Oh, I mean, they had pho, it just wasn't the delicious, uber-satisfying wonderful cure-all pho that we were hoping for. The soup was lukewarm versus boiling hot, and the broth lacked the richness that we needed. To add insult to injury, it was $7.50 for a regular bowl, $8.50 for large - a little more expensive then most pho places. However, they do also have bahn mi and jackfruit shakes. If I come back, I may give those items a try...but we were sadly disappointed by the pho. And we left feeling just as miserable as when we arrived. read more
