Had a family event that took place in the morning and it was approaching lunch time so my cousin Ann suggested we go to pho house. The establishment is clean and after looking at the menu we ordered the goi cuon( garden roll), strawberry bubble drink, my sister had the meatball pho while I had the thit nuong( vermicelli with pork). The garden roll was very fresh and the peanut sauce had a very good taste to it. The bubble drink was sweet and refreshing. The thit nuong was very tasty with the pork char to perfection. My sister had the meat ball pho and I had a sip of the broth and it tasted very authentic and flavorful. Plenty of parking space as needed. The con is the price for a large bowl of pho, which is close to 15 dollar due to inflation and cost of ingredients going up. Let me close my eyes and think back to a simpler time when a goi cuon was 3.50 and a large bowl of pho was 8.95$. Really solid authentic pho. Broth is really delicious and well flavored. It ALWAYS hits the spot for me whenever I'm craving pho. Tried their bahn mi for the first time, flavors were ok. Definitely not the best bahn mi that I've had, but the pho is SO GOOD. I always add a little of the sauce they give you for the broth and I'll add in siracha or some other viet chili hot sauce and it's the perfect kick. Some of the best things on the menu here might not be pho actually. I have to admit I am not impressed by the traditional pho with brisket, flank steak, or skirt steak (the meat is a bit overcooked and not as tender) and I find it a little odd that the chicken pho comes in a beef broth. Don't get me wrong it is good pho for the area, but the menu has a lot other than traditional pho options to offer. For example, the Cha Gio (crispy rolls) for $4.95 are really really good. Crispy fried goodness (pork and shrimp) with a sweet fish sauce. It comes with two rolls and it's worth getting another order if you are sharing.They also offer coffee smoothies with coffee jelly. Recently, I had a beef wrapped in grape leaves appetizer (Bo Nuong La Nho) here (like vietnamese dolmeh) that was off their special menu on the table and amazingly good.The grape leaves were fried so they were crispy and inside was tender ground meat. It came out searing hot and the inside gushed when you bit into it so it was messy. If this is on the menu when you are here, order it! Now if you are in the mood for soup, refer to the Pho House's "Special Soups". You'll find the Bun Bo Hue and one of my favorites, Bun Rieu (tomato broth, noodles, tofu and crab). I consider the Bun Rieu my go to summer pho. They also have Bo Kho, which is a beef stew that strangely reminds me of minestrone soup. It's a little bit weird for recommending everything but the Pho at a place called "Pho House" but trust me the menu has enough specialties to keep you satisfied. read more

So I don't usually do Vietnamese food because well... not a huge fan of pho and my favorite dish I only ever found at a place in Phoenix. Well this place doesn't have it either, but I trusted my friend to choose a good place and a something that I would enjoy and he chose here. We both got the G8 which is like a sampler of shrimp, fried spring roll, and either pork or chicken served with white rice and a sauce. We chose pork. We also got the S2, a soup, to split. The meat was cooked and seasoned very well and I very much enjoyed it. I barely touched my half of the soup as I was full, but had the leftover the next day for lunch and think I enjoyed the soup even more than the meal. One thing that is really cool is this place doesn't charge extra to get more rice. Overall tho I think I would definitely come back and get either of the two dishes again. read more

I am not sure if they forgot about my order or what, but it was really long. The spring rolls came out fine and on time, but the pho was just too much. Tried first time after seeing good reviews on the yelp. I ordered for to-go. My husband ordered it for me, so I don't know the name, but it was grilled pork with vermicelli noodles. It was very tasty! There was a good amount of pork. The sauce went well with the noodles and veggies, and the hot sauce was not really spicy, but tasty. I highly recommend this place! I had 2 issues with our phone in order tonight but because it was resolved without issue or extra fees is why the 5 star rating. First issue I blame on the orderer (not the restaurant) for not confirming the order details before they hung up when placing the order. Second issue was after getting home it was discovered we got two of the same items instead of 2 different items as ordered. I then called the restaurant and advised the issue. We have been coming to this pho place for many years. They have been one of our family's default choices from the 1st time walked through their door - when my kids were still very young. Now they are all grown, and this place still remains one of our default places in the area. We love their garden rolls, chicken pho, and their beef skewers. Their portions are solid! After all these years, I decided to try their beef stew on a whim. Meat was tender and plenty, soup had a bit more herbal hint than my liking, and it was on the sweeter side. Always like going to this restaurant, whether it's for a pick-up or sit-down. I placed a pick-up order for 2 x Summer Rolls and a Lemongrass Chicken with Rice. After taking it home, ate 2 Summer Rolls for lunch and the Grilled Lemongrass Chicken with Rice for dinner. So tasty! The chicken was cooked perfectly this time around. Last time, it was a bit chewy. Pho House is probably the fanciest pho restaurant I've been in, and it came with a price tag to match. More expensive than other places (large-$8.50, small-$7.50), with okay pho. I decided on a small bowl of pho with steak and flank (#11). I've never seen steak on the menu before (brisket, flank, eye round steak-isn't it all steak?!), so I was intrigued. The soup came out lukewarm, which I wasn't a fan of, and didn't have much flavor to it. There were generous amounts of noodles and beef, but I couldn't tell the difference between the steak and flank. The garnishes didn't seem fresh, especially the basil. With frequent squirts of sriracha and hoisin sauce, my bowl of pho was okay. I also tried the grilled pork banh mi (m2). Again okay. The baguette was toasted a little longer than I would have liked it to be as it was pretty crunchy. The grilled pork had a lot of flavor, but I wasn't a fan of the lemon grass taste (which I had no idea that I was getting grill lemongrass pork). The veggies were fresh, which is why I didn't understand why the pho garnishes weren't. If I was a fan of lemon grass, this banh mi would have been delicious. Although the food I ate was okay, I'd probably be back to try other items on their menu (garden rolls, spicy beef noodle soup, and fruit shakes) if I'm in the area. read more

There's nothing I can say that's not already been said about Pho House. It's the perfect meal for a cold or rainy day. The proportion is good, (I can barely ever finish the regular bowl), the broth is light but full of flavor and it's a great price for the amount of food you get. Definitely want to go back and try other dishes! I shop at Lotte all the time, which is in the same shopping center as Pho House and i never bothered to try it until one random day. I wouldnt say it is to die for, but it is a pretty decent Pho spot that i would definitely go to again; it satisfies the pho craving for sure. I got the beef stew pho which was pretty good. I also tried their veggie spring roll which was alright. The rice paper on both of the rolls were completely ripped open, so it was hard to eat, but i do applaud them for having vegetarian/vegan options available! I have also tried their pork banh mi. I ordered it to go, so i when i got home i threw it in the oven so that the bread would be perfectly crispy. It was very yummy! Im unsure how they would serve it in the restaurant, but im guessing they would toast it before serving it? Recently price has increased again. I understand inflation is a thing but when a large bowl of pho is priced at 16 dollars after tax and tip you're looking at close to 20 dollars. This is simple little Pho place that ALSO serves 5-6 types of Banh Mi which is fabulous bc usually Pho places only serve Pho, Bo Bun & the standard traditional Vietnamese fare. It's a small rectangular restaurant in a modest strip mall in Germantown. I ordered the Crispy springs to start (2 to an order). They were excellent. Homemade, Flavorful, & crispy. I also ordered a small flank & brisket pho. It was delicious. The broth was fabulous. It had an aromatic, fresh, deep savory broth. I added the basil & mustard green to mine. It was a very generous helping of noodles, flank, brisket with fresh white onion slices, spring onion, cilantro & parsley. It came with a plate of fresh bean sprouts, basil, mustard greens & jalapeño. Service was lightning fast. The staff were polite, friendly, helpful & efficient. The had 80's pop music piped in at an audible level. It was very busy so clearly is very popular in the area. They do a brisk take out service also. It was clean throughout. The prices are extremely reasonable. Overall, this is a fabulous Pho establishment with delicious food & fast, friendly service. Definitely recommended! read more

First time I was charged for an extra soup (without actually getting the extra soup). The last order was a disaster. It had hair in 2 of the dishes. One was in the pho noodles and it was long and light brown the other one was in the Bahn Mi ... was a pubic hair. Absolutely disappointed and will never come back here. I am sorry I wanted to support a local business, but I'd rather drive 20 minutes to Rockville and go to a place that has better quality control. read more

I've eaten here several times and it is a welcome addition to Germantown! The quality is better than the other two Germantown places, Pho 81 and Pho Song Long (now closed..."so long!"). Having a full menu it is more of a true Vietnamese deli like Bale down in Rockville. Bale is better, but Pho House is very good. I have tried other dishes but go mainly for the soup. The sandwiches are good also. The service isn't as fast as some other Pho places, but it is still pretty quick. My only complaint is the prices are high compared to other PHO places. It is around $12 for a large bowl and an iced coffee. Down at Pho 75 a large bowl and coffee will run you $9.75. So, going along with some of the other reviews I think the prices are slightly high. Specially since it is in what appears to be a low-rent strip mall. The soup is consistently good and I appreciate the full menu with alternate soup choices as well. I'd say it isn't as good as Pho 75 or Bale, but is better than any others I've tried in upper Montgomery County (Pho Nam, Pho & Grille, Ming's, Pho 81, etc.) The one consistent annoyance is that they cut their onions too thick. They never seem to cook in the broth and you end up crunching on a raw onion when you expect a soft/cooked addition that blends well with the soup, but at least they're easy to pick out. It is nice to see that they are doing well and care about their customer's. That is where Pho Song Long went wrong (they started out good, but went downhill). Thumbs up for Pho House! read more

Ive gotten Pho from here a couple times, all takeout. I usually get the meatball pho and think its well made. Their fried dumolings are great so i highly recommend those of youre a gyoza fan! Their cocnut water is also delcious from Thailand and has a very unique packagine and actual coconut in it, however I find that it has a more taro taste to it but overall still great. Love this place so, so much - pho sure. No pictures as everything was greedily inhaled. Great combo choices with well seasoned and grilled meats- rolls are better than anyone else- lots of flavor in every dish. Also one of the view places with the Chinese sausage- get the Happy Rolls. Combo #6 is my go to! Two seasoned, skewered and grilled shrimp, a fried roll chopped up, and choice of meat- chicken or pork. Lots of rice and my favorite- the pickled radish and carrot.
