I loved trying the pho here and it might be my favorite place to get it. The broth was nicely clear and tasted fresh; I usually like mixing hoisin sauce for my flavor but this one didn't need it! I also really liked the texture of the rice noodles. They provide a variety of pho toppings like soybean sprouts and greens to complement the pho as well. I do like green onion but they add quite a lot in the bowl that it's a little hard to drink the broth by itself so that's my only issue . The place itself is small but there's a lot of seating. The restaurant had a beautiful garden and gazebo in front of it and seating indoors and outdoors. We placed our order at the restaurant entrance and were seated. I got a small bowl of the filet and crunchy beef and a lemonade. My husband got a large bowl with the filet, meatballs, a side of raw beef, and a soda lemonade. The pho came with a plate of bean sprouts, basil, jalapenos, lime wedges, and other fresh vegetables. They tables there also have fish sauce, hot sauce, and a variety of things to customize your pho so its exactly how you like it. The serving sizes were generous and I had leftovers to take home. I was so excited to find this authentic pho spot that only serves up 2 items on the menu - pho or bun bo hue. Everything else is a just a variation of the toppings for each noodle soup. My boyfriend ordered the pho tai gau (P5) and I ordered the pho dac biet (P14); we both ordered the medium ($13) which was honestly enough for both of us for lunch. Service was really friendly, quick & efficient, and we received our order within minutes of sitting down! I was pleasantly surprised to find that Pho Huong Lan uses fresh rice noodles, as this was my first time seeing it! Our orders came with a generous portion of the usual accompaniments (bean sprouts, lime, basil, jalapenos, & some other fresh herbs??), and each table setting has all the sauces you'll ever need. The pho broth here is really clean and tasty, though not as deeply flavored as I've had at some other places. And as other reviewers mentioned, it was just bordering between warm and hot. I wish the broth was a little hotter! But otherwise, you really get good bang for your buck here. They don't skimp out on your chosen toppings AT ALL, and noodle portions are good too. This seems to be a really popular spot with the locals, as there was a sense of familiarity in how the owners interacted with their customers. The flavors are delicious and unmatched in the way that they present their food is definitely satisfying. Which was a variety of meets plus extra short ribs. Being that it was quite a large bowl, I didn't send it back. The pho and the beef was all very delicious. Came time to pay.
