OMG! What a hidden gem- authentic flavors, all fresh, cooked to order. The atmosphere is not fancy at all, and the neighborhood is modest. But whether you eat in or take out, your guests will be impressed with any dishes! We had steamed dumplings, spring rolls and a variety of pho. Second time we visit, a total of five very happy diners :)

Grilled beef and egg roll vermicelli bowl

Stopped by here for lunch during a work trip and was really impressed by the food. It's definitely a hole in the wall restaurant. I ordered the grilled beef and egg roll vermicelli bowl (BÚN BÒ NƯỚNG CHẢ GIÒ). The grilled beef was delicious and well seasoned. The egg roll was good, but nothing to write home about. However, the dish as a whole was refreshing and tasty, especially when mixed with the sweet/tangy sauce that came with it. Price was pretty inexpensive too compared to what I typically see in the DC metro area -- it was a big portion for $12.95. Our server was also friendly and attentive. The place is pretty small inside, and the tables could have been cleaner.

Locate in Trenton right tucked away besides row homes, Kim Pho is worth the trip. We ordered the Shrimp wrap appetizer which was very good. Definitely fresh! For dinner I had the angel vermicelli with lemongrass tofu. It was very flavorful and delicious. The serving was large enough for me to take some home. I also got the mango smoothie bubble tea, which was enjoyable but I found the bobas quite mushy and flavorless. But over all the drink was tasty. I'd definitely come back. I'm giving 4 stars as I really wanted to order some Pho, but they were all made with beef broth and I'm a vegetarian. Definitely worth a try!

This place was so good, we found it on the search for a place to eat after sesame place. There was one other table seated when we got there and they left happy. The gentleman who served us was very nice and quick and doing everything. When we finished there was one other table and people picking up food. We'll definitely be back when we're in the area again.

No doubt, the naming of this Viet kitchen is an intentional play on pronunciation. Regardless, I was very pleasantly surprised by the definite upgrade in quality provided by the new management of this small restaurant on Brunswick Avenue, Trenton, NJ, right up the street from the former Helene Fuld Medical Center. The dining room looks basically the same, but cleaner than it was in the past, and the management is truly Vietnamese. The floor boss oversees everything in the house in the appropriate accent, while the HDTV high on the wall plays a documentary on local ethnic cooking around the Mekong River delta. Educational and entertaining. My Pho Tai (beef noodle soup w rare sliced ribeye) was quite tasty. The large bowl ($12.95), had at least ten thin slices of steak and plenty of onion, scallion, rice noodles and well simmered broth, to which I added squeezed lime, jalapeños, Thai basil, and sprouts. It was nicely balanced, but probably could have used more lemongrass in the pot to kick up the heat quotient a bit. I also ordered a Grilled Beef Banh Mi (sandwich on demi baguette), which was also very good, especially after long squirts from the Hoisin Sauce and short bursts from the sriracha table rocket. The loaf had a crisp skin and soft inners and held its contents well with strong flavor from the daikon radish, carrot, homemade aioli and ample grilled beef with excellent bbq sauce basting. I ordered another with pork to take home for those I knew loved this snack. Aside from the sketchy nature of the neighborhood which dictates that the wise go there for lunch, Pho Kim has the chance to succeed based on the quality of the kitchen and brightness of the dining room. If enough of us visit, we can help assure its longevity.

mixed vermicelli, very good and filling. chicken super tender

Just dropped by this brand new Vietnamese for lunch. i was here many years ago and it was not good at all. new owners took over and opened up a few weeks ago. the real loose leaf hot tea was the first indication that this was going to be a decent quality lunch. also a good indication was that there were both hot chili oil and sriracha on the table. i prefer the hot chili oil so i was glad to see it. i ordered a mixed vermicelli. the noodles were fresh and plentiful. although i prefer mine on the cool side and this was warm, it was still super fresh and satisfying. the spring roll was great too. next time i will order more veggies and less vermicelli. i always regret it when i forget to do so. interior is simple, clean and comfortable. server was very pleasant and spoke broken English well enough. For some that may be a negative, for me the fact that these folks are immigrants cooking their food, is exactly what will bring me back. I took out pho and summer rolls for my wife and kids. One of my son's loved his brisket pho and told me it was the best he ever had. I think that's due to the broth being well balanced and not overly aggressive. I had one of the summer rolls, shrimp and lettuce were very fresh and the peanut sauce had some body to it, not watery like in some other places. Overall, I will be back and try some of the other items I enjoy. Worth a visit for sure.

I'm so in love with this place. I come here when I wanna get away from the noise and have a warm bowl of soup. It's beautiful inside and it's clean. The hostess is gracious and makes you feel welcoming. I will always come to this place.

I was in town visiting my grandparents on a rainy saturday and was feeling some pho. They've never had it so i had to introduce them to this heavenly soup. Now this was my first time searching and trying this place and the reviews looked great so i went with my first instinct. I ordered 2 classic: chicken and eye round steak. The portions were plenty and the chicken was chunky pieces vs sliced (how i've usually had it) but i was not mad at it. Plenty of utensils and what really stood out is that this is the first of many places i've gone that gives you plastic to go soup spoons. That sold me! The comments said they have a rooftop for outdoor seating will definitely be back. The summer rolls were huge for an order of 2. The peanut sauce was delicious and if i'd have to nitpick i wish the peanuts were crushed a bit more to make it easier to scoop on the rolls. Also wish they had an option to switch chili sauce with sriracha. Thank you for this experience Pho Kim; with love from MD!

Review for Meatheadz - Lawrence Township, NJ…read more After hearing a NJ Transit conductor rave about Meatheadz, I finally decided to check it out--and I'm glad I did. This place absolutely lives up to the hype. I went with the Plain cheesesteak with fried onions and pepper jack cheese on a seeded bun, along with an order of Meatheadz loaded fries. Let me just say, that cheesesteak was a monster. Fresh, perfectly cooked, and swimming in melty cheese--it's easily the best cheesesteak I've had outside of Philly. The portion was so generous I could barely finish it, and for anyone arriving hungry, you definitely won't leave that way. The loaded fries looked fantastic too, but I had to box them up for later (that's how filling the sandwich was). The prices were moderate and fair for what you get, and while the place was busy, the energy felt lively rather than chaotic. All in all, Meatheadz is absolutely worth the trip if you're craving an authentic cheesesteak experience. Rating: 4.25 out of 5

My own experiences here tended to be in the 3.5 or higher range but I feel confident that rounding…read moreup to 4 is warranted. First of all, it is the closest takeout restaurant to the Civil courthouse( also known as the place where potential jurors come to check in and wait to be called) I love that they share a small storefront with a florist, but it does make for tight quarters, esp during the ordering and waiting process. And the customer service was top notch. My first visit was for a lunch order. It was difficult trying to read the specials of the day menu, let alone the standard menu. This was due to timing, several people were ordering and or waiting. Once chicken quesadillas caught my eye I stopped reading. My selection came out fairly quickly and was packaged with small containers of salsa Fresca and sour cream. But I'm pretty sure menu read that some type of salad was also included, this was left out. They were pretty good too, well seasoned pulled chicken and cheese, the flour tortillas were perfectly grilled and stayed that way even in the package. It was a nice serving and I would have really enjoyed had it come with a fresh and simple salad. I would order again as well. My next two visits were just for a pick me up bakery item. The pumpkin muffin was excellent. The chocolate chip one was not very good. Not enough chips and a dry texture. But during each trip the owner was right up front and being helpful and friendly to all. I feel that this spirit does go into the food that is prepared and served here. Good spot for locals, workers and even the confused juror.

Lexi Lu's Café is a strange setup…read more Up front it is a well designed, attractive take out shop. Walk past their kitchen and it is Amoroso's Flower Shop, where you can still buy a bouquet of roses for your anniversary. Love the adaptive reuse of this old storefront on S. Broad Street, Trenton; right across from the very old courthouse. It is hard to find driving by, and there are seldom parking spaces within the surrounding area. But, if you work or live in the neighborhood, or go to the new civil or criminal courts, you can walk over and pick up soup, sandwich, breakfast muffin, etc., on your way to the office. It closes at 2:00 pm. Service is exemplary given how small the space is. The two friendlies who helped me out were attractive and efficient. One made up my grilled chicken chipotle wrap, while the other provided the history of the business and worked the register. Both were happy to pose for photos when I pulled out my Yelp screen after ordering. You can see the results. The lunch was very good. Fresh, quality ingredients and TLC. Plenty of stuffing for a large wrap. It was enough for two meals. @ $8.50, it was a spectacular deal. Too bad there is no place to sit, because the room is comfy in a cramped way, and it would be nice to absorb more atmosphere from the winsome workers.

I never watched Lord of the Rings or Game of Thrones because every last loser on earth was all about it. The Beatles fucking suck and Bruce Springsteen can go shit in his hat. Pumpkin spice is for pumpkin pie and that's it, no matter what these dizzy suburban women say. So the decision to visit Johnny Longhots today was based entirely on poor reviews. The guy who ordered a sandwich to the hospital and found a cheesesteak to be "greasy" deserves to contract MRSA during his stay. The dope who complained his fries were soggy ordered his shit off Door Dash. He's lucky the driver didn't eat all of his fries. The folks who called out the teenagers who are getting their first experience working can all get bent. You weren't perfect when you had your first job. Don't forget people like you willingly locked kids in their homes during covid. It's no wonder some of them struggle with social skills and working under pressure. Have a little grace, then eat a bag of dicks for not being patient to them. Don't get me started on that dipshit from Brooklyn. That person who rated the place a one for the soda? I already know who you vote for. Onto the food - the menu is huge. There are a ton of choices with something for just about everyone. There's even gluten free options for those fucking people. There were four or five sandwiches in the running, but it was the Gritty Cheesesteak that ultimately won out on my first visit. And that's a strange decision for me because the Flyers stink and their fans are even worse. They're the worst organization in hockey. Maybe I just wanted fries on my sandwich. Yea - that's it. So the Gritty is a good amount of beef, fries tossed in Old Bay and topped with white cheddar cheese sauce atop a seeded roll. I added fried onions. The sandwich scores higher than the Flyers. I was a fan of the seeded roll which was super fresh. The cheese sauce was tasty and complemented the fries really well. They were super crispy, well seasoned and plentiful. The beef wasn't the best I've ever had, but it was tender and cooked well. All-in-all a good sandwich. The gals up front were attentive and friendly. They took my order quickly. Hats off to the kitchen for getting my food out promptly among the online orders. The place was pretty clean and had a ton of Philly Sports pics on the wall. The music on the radio was some throwback stuff - thank God it wasn't any of that mumble rap shit most kids play these days. Johnny's has a bunch of lunch specials that look worthwhile and a decent value. Locally owned spot worth giving your business to. It's a 4-star review from me that gets bumped to a 5 to spite the mopes who gave it a one.
