I must be super picky since I am not a fan of this place. I don't think I truly enjoyed anything that we got. I will note that it will be very hard to compete with places in Philadelphia like in Washington Ave and Chinatown. 1. Crab rangoons - these were not very good. It had a very fishy taste. 2. Beef carpaccio - This was what I liked most out of all that we got, it was also the least favorite out of all I have ever . It was a very flavorless compared to my favorite from another we place. I do like how it is finely minced here and topped with fried shallots. Their Nước Chấm sauce tasted diluted, but overall this dish was good. 3. Pork spring rolls - this was also only ok. Superior service! Summer roll is spectacular. The Pho with grilled shrimp was delicious but the broth needed a little bit more flavor. On cold evenings you just dream about swimming in a giant bowl of soup and pho always satisfies that craving. The broth is solid albeit it on the saltier side. For the record: I eat Pho regularly. DO NOT COME HERE. Selling old gross rancid soup. I was up at my sister's and decided to order at her preferred Vietnamese restaurant, which was this restaurant. We ordered two rare steak & brisket pho and 1 chicken pho to go. The restaurant was noticeably empty at 7 pm on a Wednesday, not one customer in sight...which is always a bad sign. I picked up the order, and took it home to assemble and eat. After reheating broth and placing everything in a clean bowl (I added the usual accoutrement: squeeze of lime, Thai basil, bean sprout and a little of the hoisin/sriracha mixture) .. everything look great. I sat down to eat took a bite and immediately noticed a weird and extremely unappetizing taste/smell.The soup tasted and smelled like slightly rancid/dirty beef chemical water with soup base, lime and pho spices added to it.. the smell alone was so off putting that it put me off the soup altogether but I was curious.. so I smelled my sisters broth to see if it was maybe just my soup. Her plain soup broth (still in container, without any assembly) smelled like dirty beefy gym socks. It smelled absolutely disgusting. Only time will tell if this will make me sick or not so stay tuned for a second review, however I am EXTREMELY disappointed with this soup. I have never in my 15 years of eating this meal been served something so noticeable disgusting. This type of oversight demonstrates a major lack of care for the food coming out of their kitchen and I am horrified because of it. Of course I misplaced the receipt so I am not able to attempt to get a refund but this is the worst bowl of pho I have ever had in my life... and the sad thing is this is one of my favorite meals. I'm not sure why this happened... maybe it's due to being the middle of the week and the restaurant is not busy so they used old soup... also, this could be their norm but my sister maintains they've never served soup that smells/tastes like this before.. maybe they got a new chef... Clean, tasty bone broth and noodles with just enough chew, slices of beef and a side of sprouts, jalapenos and other garnish that made for a wonderful lunch! Amazing viet food here. We tried the platter which was an A+ ! Highly recommend this. I love foods that are interactive as you make your own rolls and can try different types of protein. My boyfriend got the bbh which he said was really good. I did try a few spoonfuls and I can attest to that lol.
