I love pho, it can be delicious and medicinal. My favorite pho place is in Seattle it's called Pho Than Brothers they hands down have the best pho I've had. Pho Kings may have good pho but be aware that their chicken pho is made with beef broth, and their staff lacks the communication skills to give those who may not consume red meat a warning that their phò gã is made with beef broth. When they brought my Phò gã out to the table I noticed the broth was darker than chicken broth. I asked the waiter if it was beef broth he said yes, I sent it back and order a vegetable phò bowl. The veggie phò bowl was mediocre compared to Phò Than Brothers, that being said if you like good authentic Phò gã do not come here! Their Vietnam sandwich was decent and might be worth stopping by for if you're in the area, but this place isn't one that I'd come back to unless I was within it's proximity. read more

I was excited to try this place because I've heard so many good things, but unfortunately it did not live up to the reputation people sold me. I got a meatball far to go, but unfortunately they forgot all of the garnishes and sauces so all I received was broth noodles and meat. The meatballs were horrible, honestly. The first one had two pieces of an edible cartilage or other hard tissue. The next to each had one piece, so I had to find and spit out inedible parts of my meal. Finally I tossed the meatballs and just had noodles and broth, which tasted all right. 2 stars for decent spring rolls. read more

Honestly just not good. So bland. I got a tofu bahn mi and tofu fresh spring rolls and honestly were both hard to swallow let alone finish.

WORTH THE DRIVE! Cutest little pho place. My friend and I came here at night time, it wasn't too crowded. We ordered potstickers which were probably the best ones i have ever had, about 4 bucks. Then we shared a large pho for $8.50, which is a great price considering the fact it was huge. Absolutely delicious. We both got bubble teas with tapioca, and it did not disappoint. The tapioca was a good texture, some places don't cook it enough. The bubble tea was like 3-4 bucks. The workers were really nice too. Such a good price, for the food you're having! A bowl of pho for $6.50?! Are you kidding me. I will come back here if it was 10 mins away for me. I wish I got the large, so I can tell you how large it was, but I got the regular since I was sick when I visited, and didn't think I can finish it all. Its times like these I wish I could comment on other people's reviews. If you knowingly dislike a certain food, it is certainly not the fault of the restaurant. And don't insult an ethnic dish because you don't understand it. In any case, the pho here was excellent. Clean, flavorful broth. Plenty of meat and noodles in the large, so value was great. Service was nice and attentive. However, I'm not sure if I'm spoiled by SoCal pho eateries, but this isn't as good in comparison. I have been here twice now, so the delicious food is not a fluke. We ordered the Thai iced tea, the spring rolls, and I got the pho tai (beef pho). The spring rolls are small and compact, not messy, and very delicious and fresh. The peanut sauce is good but very peanut-y so I added some Sriracha and it was delicious. The pho is also very good, it's a huge bowl for just a regular size and they give you a lot of meat. The Service was quick and friendly. We love this place, huge portions, delicious food and the pricing is pretty cheap. The location is a little hidden, but if you walk around a bit you'll find it. This pho resturant makes the best bubble tea. I hate ordering bubble tea that tastes like a smoothie with chunks of ice. This place blends everything until it's soft and creamy with tons of tapioca pearls if you want! Been going through a cancer battle and found myself up the street from Pho King. About to start a radiation/chemo protocol and figured I deserved a little treat. Got my usual order of Bun, with pork, grilled prawns and egg rolls. Atmosphere was nice, clean and well kept and the service polite and prompt. The Bun was outstanding! Most places just grill the meat and serve it pretty plain. The pork was perfectly spiced and not an ounce of grizzle. Prawns very well done too. Like all pho places, they must have a phobia about removing prawn tails. After me doing that deed, poured on the fish sauce, a little hoisin and some sriracha. Amount was a little less than I usually see but so was the price. It was actually a perfect amount, I left satisfied not my usual STUFFED. I appreciate they let you pick your utensils. I hate the plastic chopsticks and prefer the wooden, which were at my table. I am facing 5 weeks of chemo/radiation right up the street and look forward to many visits. I highly recommend. read more

BEST PHO IN TACOMA!! ....if not the whole PNW. I'm a huge pho lover, and it's spot on every time: hot, just the right amount of oily, noodles always perfectly al dente... we just moved down from Seattle, and it beats any of our regular spots up there. We probably eat here way too much, but it's perfect. It's your typical/classic pho place, so it's kinda funny if people are expecting some sort of fancy atmosphere (?). I use to come here on a daily basis when I was in school and always loved the quality of the pho and the service itself from the older gentlemen. I give this place a two star review because recently I just moved to the Downtown area of Tacoma and came many occasions only to be ignored and made fun of for requesting a clean table. Two weeks ago I decided to give them one more try so after doing some shopping from pawn shop around the corner, I came in and there were no available tables. Every table was full of leftover food and there was only one customer there. I waited 7 minutes for a seat and they decide to pick the closest table to where everyone stands in line and picks up the order. I asked them if they can please seat me away from the front and the younger male made a remark to another employee and laughed. I decided to leave and I will be taking my stomach somewhere else. You go because its consistently good, and its fun to say. In addition to pho, I would also recommend the bahn mi, spring rolls(the peanut sauce is yummy), and wonton wrapped shrimp. Its not unusual for two people to leave stuffed and happy for less than $12. Not the prettiest place around, but thats not why one goes to Pho King. Best pho in Tacoma!! The food is great & cheap prices even if the atmosphere is lacking. Pho King on MLK has a pretty standard Pho menu with sandwhiches, rice bowls and bubble tea. I really appreciate how fully vegetarian items are marked with a green leaf and they know what vegan is. The service is very fast & I've never had a bad meal there. The restaurant is nothing special to look at and could use a fresh layer of paint and some updating. The tables are clean and that's what counts. At the time of writing they close at 8p which is pretty early and thay stops me from going in. However, if you make it in the door by 8p they will serve you and not make you feel like you have to leave. read more
