Late Night + morning headaches = yes you guessed it.... Pho for lunch. Unfortunately, Pho-Licious opens at 11, but I'll give them that time to make the broth and prepare everything. This place really is Pho-Licious. It has a small outdoor patio for seating, the decor on the inside is nicer and cleaner than most pho places I've been to. It's a little on the smaller side for a pho shop, but if that means the service is better (which is was), then by all means I'll take come here. Their menu for pho is a little more expanded beyond the normal house stuff (steak, tripe, tendon, etc). I usually just get the house since it has the different meats. The bowls here are in between a normal and large at most places. For $7, it was a good sized and I enjoyed it. The broth is great too! Not too greasy. If you have eaten a fair amount of Pho...you will know they are all a little different, the broths pick up the spices, the quality of the beef bones used, the aromatics that were simmered.....that's the great thing about Pho. I personally enjoy tasting the differences, and this Pho was definitely different than others I've had, which made it even more of an interesting lunch! It was very tasty - and definitely worth the price tag of $7. We also ordered the pork banh mi to split - it was almost a meal in itself! I've probably eaten here 5 or 6 times since this place opened and they've been pretty consistent every time I've eaten there. I got my usual House Special Pho & the broth was just right this time not too salty with a little bit of sweetness. My wife ordered the Filet Mignon Pho and she also really enjoyed it. We also got the Charbroiled Pork Spring Rolls and I have to say I enjoyed them more than the regular Shrimp Spring Rolls. I will definitely be coming back here again. It's cute, clean, tasty, and in walking distance. Also, the staff is always delightful and overly concerned with their customers' happiness, which I find endearing. I'm on a spring roll kick, so I've had the tofu spring rolls, the pho ga, and the pho with brisket and rare filet mignon. The spring rolls and accompanying sauce are delightful, though I would like some cilantro in them. The pho ga comes with dark meat, which stands up to the heat of the soup better than does white meat, so extra points for that. The pho beef cuts I've tried have been awesome, just fall-apart tender. Besides the lack of cilantro, my only quibble is that we came in during lunch rush on a Saturday, and there was only one server working, poor man. He was over-extended trying to make sure everyone was happy and that everyone's experience went smoothly. On the other hand, I came in on a week night for dinner, and there were two or three servers, all standing around doing not much at all because the place was almost empty. Super fresh and pho-licious! I have only tried the vegetable pho dishes but I was super impressed every time. It tastes like they just picked the vegetables that morning. The price is amazing for the amount of food you get. Last time I went it was $18 for 2 people, which included pho, drinks, and tip. I am never able to finish it all but it is so good that I try. The only downside is that it is very small and usually packed. If they are full, there is not very much room to wait inside. Quick tips! 1. Located on the corner of 6th Ave. and Live Oak, 2. Street parking available and lot parking too 3. Contrary to the name, they do have other menu options besides pho. I've tried Pholicious before for some pho and remembered that it was decent, but not extraordinary. Recently, my mom had a huge hankering for Bun thit nuong cha gio, or vermicelli with grilled pork and egg rolls. This kind of dish is rice noodle based and usually served cool with nuts, various veggies and herbs. There are many ways to eat Vietnamese food, and what we like to do is take the fish sauce and pour it on the noodles and toss it all together. As a result, you usually have a pretty refreshing, healthy tasting set of noodles. Pholiciou's version of bun thit nuong cha gio is similar, but severely lacking. The eggrolls tasted like they had cabbage in them. For most people who have had vietnamese egg rolls, they know that the base components are pretty much meat, egg, transparent noodles, and fungus. They usually do not include any veggies besides the black fungus. Now, for some reason either these egg rolls were bad and slightly sour or they included some sort of veggie that caused it to taste sour. The noodles themselves were a bit al dente, which is fine, but the herbs were disappointing since there was so little. The portion of meat was also small, and this would be okay if the meat actually tasted really good. Instead, the meat was passable and not really great. In essence, the bun thit nuong really gave us a bad experience. I would highly suggest not going off the normal pho menu and just trying the pho here if anything. read more

Mid-range Pho restaurant that will give you anything an "Excellent" Pho spot will give you, at a lesser price and quality. The atmosphere is much akin to that of a typical Pho place. This spot is conveniently located on Live Oak, about a 3 minute walk from my house...so it's a no brainer that I go here a LOT (especially in the Fall/Winter). The lunch crowd is a loyal one, and I have no idea where else they can go to get this type of food for the price. Anything other than the Pho is below-average. The spring rolls, egg rolls, and many of the appetizers seem rather generic and lacking flavor. The service staff understands this as if you raise a complaint, they'll happily take it off the bill...but I don't make the same mistake twice, so I am not aware of how many times you can try this. The Pho broth leaves much to be desired...the meat is good, however. It's a small price to pay for the fact that you can "soup" up your meal with enough Hoisin sauce, Sirracha, basil, lemon, and the bean sprouts to look past the fact that the water quality could be improved to enhance the purity of the broth. I usually go for dinner after dark. It's a nice spot just to go and unwind. You won't get bothered too much, which is nice. It's also not too busy (like Golden Deli) so you won't ever have a lack of waitstaff. Overall, I love the place, it's a solid spot but I just wish the Pho was a step up from where it is now...But since Golden Deli is about a 20 minute drive from here, I'll stick to Pho-Licious for the sake of convenience. read more

My husband and I were in search of a pho place on the eastern side of the San Gabriel Valley. He had noticed that there were a number of positive Yelp reviews for Pho-licious. So, during the ordering process we embarked with open minds. By appearances the pho ga had the right look. After a few swallows though I noticed that there must be MSG in the pho ga. Mentioning this observation to our young, well-groomed, courteous waiter, he said that he was sensitive to MSG---his back hurts when he eats too much of it- that his back doesn't hurt when he eats the pho at Pho-licious---BUT, I would have to keep in mind that without MSG the broth tastes of dishwater. Take it from him, from someone who had tasted other phos around and about. He countered further with---if you eat here again, he would recommend other dishes on the menu without MSG. I said that I wouldn't argue with him. Nonetheless, we left a good tip. However, my basic recommendation to the management of Pho-licious is that the establishment consider placing a notice on the menu that states "some dishes contain MSG". If I had to list all the food item I enjoy there it would go on forever from the salads to the chicken curry to the egg noodle. Found a good Pho locale in Arcadia where their broth was sooo tasty and a big portion. It had delicious meat, noodles and all the flavor i could enjoy with each bite! We had other dishes which my friend ordered so i can't tell you exactly what but i can tell you they were very satisfying. Love the food and service at this charming Vietnamese restaurant. A friend of mine introduced me to this hole-in-a-wall eatery, and boy, am I impressed! I've dined here both as an omnivore, and now as a newbie vegan! Love all the dishes I've tried so far. Their Bun Thit Nuong Cha Gio both the regular and the vegan versions are delish! My friends really enjoyed their Pho too. On the pricier side but is expected since it is in the Arcadia area. However, portions are generous. Vegan friendly. Was craving pho and saw this place had decent reviews and was close by. The food was pretty decent but the service was just really weird... at first the waitress threw our chopsticks on the table which I thought "its fine, maybe it slipped or she's just in a rush.." but later the same waitress came to drop by our water and was like "if you want a straw let me know" but left right when she was saying it. All that was fine until the end.. I wasn't even completely finished eating and another waiter comes and throws our dishes into our bowl and takes away our bowls without asking anything. My first experience which was a year was pretty decent. It was close by my house and super convenient. The pho was good and they used what tasted like filet mignon as their meat. The soup was definitely not your typical Vietnamese soup tasting pho but it was good. Price was a little steeper compared to other pho places. My second visit was about 6 months after and just OK. The soup seemed to be watered down and way too citrusy.. The filet mignon meat had been swapped out to just regular meat. Another thing I noticed was the lack of meat in the soup.. They were cutting down on expenses maybe or trying to increase profits? Nonetheless it was a little disappointing. My third and last visit I noticed a change in ownership since the waiter and people serving were all new. The first owners/waiters were Thai I think. Now they seemed to be Vietnamese which I actually thought would have been a good thing. Sadly the soup tasted worst... Very bland and citrusy... Phodelicious is definitely my favorite pho restaurants in Arcadia. And there are a lot of pho restaurants to choose from. I just think that their broth is top-tier. It has such a flavorful quality that the other restaurants don't have. I know that it's a clear broth, but the soup feels very rich. It can be a little on the salty side if you are a little bit more sensitive to saltiness and flavor, but I personally like it a lot. Unfortunately, during Covid, the noodles are not great in The transportation from the restaurant to your home. However they do offer a lot of delivery services through various dining apps on your phone. I would not recommend ordering the raw beef options when you order for takeout because a lot of times, the broth isn't as hot when it gets to your house as it would be when you order at the restaurant and as a result, the meat is sometimes undercooked. The food here is pretty feeling, I ordered three orders of the cooked Kobe beef for takeout and it is fed six of us and we shared. We also had other food on the side, but it was pretty filling just eating the pho. read more

I guess I got there too early (11:20 am) because I wanted egg rolls and they didn't have it yet (??) but 30 mintues later, someone else was ablt to order egg rolls. I has the filet mignon and meatball pho, there weren't a lot of meat, but it was a big bowl for $7. The broth was a little too sweet and too salty for my taste. I also ordered bbq pork spring rolls. I've been eating Pho for over 20 years all over CA... and this Pho, was not good. The noodles were under cooked, I got like 4 meatballs... Portion was small for a Pho place. Also, ordered chicken curry which was very runny and spicy with no flavor, strangely . But worst of all, the shrimp and pork rolls... the rolls - Great... but the peanut dipping sauce, THE WORST i have ever had - it was shockingly runny and tasteless. Honestly this is the best Vietnamese food I've ever had. My family and I have been coming to this restaurant for five years (since it opened ) and even though I have moved to Long Beach I still drive up to Arcadia to eat here. EVERYTHING on the menu is fantastic and the staff is super friendly and the quality of food is outstanding. A favorite is the grilled lemongrass chicken and fried rice along with the amazing flavor of the chicken breast Pho, there is definitely something special about their homemade broth. I liked the vegetarian pho option that gave you the choice of a beef, chicken, or vegetable broth. I opted for the vegetable and tofu pho with chicken broth (please don't judge me, vegetarians). I almost wish I chose the vegetable broth instead as the chicken broth was a bit too salty. Their egg rolls, fried rice dishes, and banh mi offerings were decent. I couldn't understand the faint smell of urine throughout the restaurant I detected (and as other reviewers mentioned). It's an average Pho place, the only reason I have Pho is for it's piping hot broth, flagrant and flavorful, but this place did not hit the spot like the other Pho places do. Their broth is a little sour to me (too much lemon maybe?) and it did not taste very flavorful. The restaurant is clean and modern, but small. So probably not to take your big parties to. read more
