We were really disappointed with this restaurant. The servers weren't rude, but they didn't feel very welcoming, and they didn't write down our orders, so they had to ask again and again. As for the food, bun bo hue was the only thing that was somewhat decent, but even that had stale, flavorless meat and the pork blood had an unpleasant texture (definitely not fresh). The pho and fried noodles were so salty they were barely edible. I'm not sure if something was off that day, but it was bad enough that we didn't want to come back and find out. Ate here for dinner tonight. Since there weren't any clearly marked gluten-free options on the menu, I asked our server and I'm really glad I did. He was very knowledgeable and explained that the pho, rice noodle bowls with shrimp only, and spring rolls (without the peanut sauce) were gluten-free. I ordered the rice noodle bowl with shrimp. This is our second visit to this spot and it is prolly our favorite pho place in ABQ. The family is friendly and the food is authentic with large portions! We ordered the XL combo pho and it would have easily feed 3 of us! Granted we're a lot older now so maybe 5 years ago it would have feed 2 of us. We also ordered the combo bun dish which was way too much food given we got the XL. DIL got a small bowl of pho which seemed like the perfect amount. I ordered the small pho tai, and it was good but not great. The steak was very uniform but not as tender as I like it, and I would've liked more onion. My pick is (still) Saigon Restaurant (or Pho Kim, when I'm in Santa Fe). He ordered the bun bo hue but did not care for it. He opted out of the steamed pork blood but didn't enjoy the different meats or lemongrass broth. His pick for spicy Vietnamese soup is (still) Basil Leaf, followed by Saigon Restaurant. This restaurant has lots of vegan and vegetarian options that are in their own menu section that makes it very clear there will be no animal products in them, including no fish oil or sauce. The curry noodle soup is huge, very filling, creamy and tasty. The fresh spring roll I got this time was ok. I've had the fried spring rolls in the past that were delicious. The food I've gotten there is good comfort food. The ambience is casual and nothing special but nice to see all the people that enjoy it. The ambiance of the restaurant is very nice. Decor is modern and inviting. The place wasn't jam packed, but they were busy for lunch. The server was frantic, but still assisted me on my take-out order bc I'm new to the menu. I love Vietnamese food, but not familiar how they run things. The menu is a la carte, but are very specific. I really wanted a small side order of just noodles, but they did not offer that. Instead, I opted for their Tofu n Veggie chow mein noodles (similarly thin noodles used for frying the birds nest), which is actually a full entrée. I'm newly vegetarian and wanted something tasty. So I also ordered their vegetarian lemongrass stir fry with steamed rice. As a treat, I added the jackfruit shake. For my partner, I got him something he loves, which is Beef n Broccoli with steamed rice and seafood chow mein stir fry bc he wanted noodles. Wait time wasn't given, but I assumed 15 min. I think I ended up waiting about 25 min? They started to get busier as I waited. There isn't really a designated seating area, so I sat where there was a chair n table next to their register. As I was waiting, in a rush I was told to by another server to call ahead next time. I know the server was trying to be polite, but we just happened to stumble upon this place, otherwise, I would've called ahead. But since I walked in, I didn't want to wait in the car. I guess my presence makes them nervous? I did ask for a side of chili oil, which I had to remind the server who helped me before I left. Also, my shake was the last thing to get bc I had to remind them about that too. Wish I had that to drink while I waited. I felt like they kind of forgot about me. So I had to double check to make sure I had everything before I left. When I finally got to try the food at home, I was pleasantly surprised by the proportions. The food was a little more expensive for the area and other Vietnamese pho places. Partner said the beef n broccoli was ok. Not his favorite like other Chinese places. Fair, maybe bc it's Vietnamese style. I enjoyed my vegetarian dishes, but I noticed like other reviews have said, it's on the sweeter side. I'd also add the sauce is pretty oily too, which isn't my favorite, but still savory enough for me to enjoy. A lot of sauce leaked out into the bag as well. :/ I will say I like the variety of the vegetables and v that they tasted really fresh and vibrant. I love tofu, and the texture was really good. I do love how fluffy and aromatic their steamed rice was. I love to sop up the sauce with it. Overall, the experience could be smoother, but I was still satisfied with the taste of everything. Overall: Pho Linh makes ok Vietnamese food. I'll update it as I try other dishes here and more places. Food: 3.5 Com Suon Nuong (Rice with Grilled Pork Chop): The plate comes with a ton of veggies include lettuce, tomato, and picked daikon and carrots. The pork chop has decent seasoning and the meat is tender without being fatty, but I wished they charred it more (I did ask for it well done). The side soup that comes with it was too sweet, but I did like the addition of fried shallots to it. Bun Thit Nuong (Rice Noodles with Grilled Sliced Pork): Again, this came with plenty of fresh vegetables. Typically, there are other herbs to add to the dish's flavor, but they only had mint. The meat's seasoning was good, and the meat was not fatty but it could use a little more char. Service: 5 The server that took our order was very pleasant and patient with our requests. Food does take a bit of time to come out but nothing excessive. Ambiance: 3 Pho Linh is located in a small plaza but provides plenty of parking. Today was my first time trying this restaurant and I already LOVE IT! TLDR: this is my new favorite Vietnamese restaurant in Albuquerque. I HIGHLY recommend the 37 B. I was starving so I got the 37 B which is a combination plate of jasmine rice, grilled pork, grilled beef, grilled chicken, grilled shrimp, and an egg. It also comes with a side of chicken broth/soup! I enjoyed EVERYTHING. Even the garnish of assorted veggies (some fresh, some pickled). Everything looked and tasted fresh- even the shrimp (which I didn't have high expectations for but it ended up being one of my favorite parts of the dish). This place does grilled food right. I ATE IT ALL. EVERYTHING. It was so delicious. Each grilled item tasted different, too! The grilled pork was more mellow, the grilled chicken SUPER flavorful, the grilled beef tasted the most like a marinade, and the grilled shrimp was the unexpected seafood star. I considered going back again tonight for dinner but I'd be embarrassed to be seen twice in the same day. The staff were nice and it was calm, quiet, and peaceful when I went in first thing in the morning. The decor was very casual and the restaurant appeared clean and well-kept (including the restroom). My absolute top choice for Vietnamese food in ABQ. Ever since I relocated to ABQ, one of the surprises I had was the abundance of authentic Vietnamese food in this city. However, after hearing consensus from a group of colleagues who were discussing their favorite restaurant, Pho Linh caught my eyes. My partner who had many more years of experiences living in ABQ had never even tried it until I suggested/started taking home some take out orders from them...up until now..he is a full convert. Perhaps, the slightly dodgy outer building appearance and location of the restaurant scared people away...but..don't be fool you guys...the food here is expansive, good seats in the restaurant...the service is nice and, best of all, very authentic food at a good reasonable price! I had tried many dishes from bun, noodles to appetizers, drinks and com rice...and none of their dish ever disappointed me yet. My most favorite is #47 Bun Combo...you get tasty bun noodles with combo of meats+egg roll! The dish is so huge that you can probably portion it into 1.5-2 meals (depending on how hungry you are)! Pho Linh is a very good, very pleasant place to grab lunch. The service is sweet, although a little slow. It's just one of those places you're happy to support. The food is very good. I enjoyed the vermicelli noodles with pork and egg rolls. The vegetables were crisp, the meat was tasty, and the noodles were perfect. The friend I ate with always gets the clay pot. He swears nothing can go wrong in the pot, so he will rotate through meats and vegetables. Woah, I was skeptical at first, but what they lack in curb appeal on Central, they make up for it with their food. Prolly one of my fav spots for Pho, I haven't tried everything here yet, but I'm sure it'll be just great. My wife had the vermicelli chicken bowl, and holy effin crap, it was huge! Tonight, my girlfriend and I made our way down Central to the East end of the International District, arriving at the Vietnamese restaurant Pho Linh. Despite what Google Maps may suggest, the parking lot can be accessed from either Central or Zuni. We walked inside and chose a table near the front windows. Right away, I was impressed with how clean everything looked. Our server, an elegant woman with impeccable style, brought over a couple of thick menus. I was interested in trying something new, instead of my usual order of pho. In the end, we settled on a banh mi and two noodle dishes, to share. The sandwich arrived first, a formidable offering of chopped veggies and grilled pork inside a soft baguette. Just as we started to worry we might have ordered too much food, the entrees arrived, confirming our suspicions: these portions are huge! I started with the chicken pad thai. Sounds like an odd thing to get at a Vietnamese restaurant, but I was intrigued, and it totally paid off. This is perhaps the best pad thai I've ever eaten. The noodles were cooked just right, the chicken added great texture and flavor, and I got some excellent bites where the scrambled egg stole the show. It's worth coming here just for the pad thai. Already impressed, I now turned to the vermicelli with chicken and egg rolls. This cold noodle dish is a crisp counterpoint to the hot, heavy pad thai. I tried to get bean sprouts and mint leaves in as many bites as possible. The egg roll, seemingly filled with beef, was kinda meh; the noodles, however, I highly recommend, along with whatever meat or seafood option suits your fancy. Another winner. So yeah, everything went great. Despite our best efforts, we still ended up with a lot of leftovers. Everyone was super friendly; this seems like a good place to bring friends, family, study groups, the kids, whatever. Have a blast. read more

Service is decent. Only issue is it is in a sketchy area with homeless people (to no fault of the establishment, just ABQ things) which is a turn off to some but you won't run into trouble. A hidden and quaint family restaurant. I was very impressed with everything from the service to the ticket times to the food quality. Everything was delicious. Perhaps one of the better pho broths I have had. I also ordered the vermicelli salad which was delicious and refreshing with crunchy veg, grilled meat and a sweet and sour sauce. I have heard about the magical Pho Linh for years as my boyfriend has raved about it on many occasions. I finally had the opportunity to visit it on our last day in Albuquerque. To say it lived up to the hype is an understatement. It exceeded it! It's better than any of the Vietnamese restaurants that I've visited in San Diego. I ordered my usual Vietnamese order of pho with rare beef. I figured that it would be easiest to judge the restaurant if I had something to compare it too. It was the best bowl of pho that I've had. It was so good that I didn't even have to add any soy or plum sauce to up the flavor. I was also very happy to see that it's offered in a small size, in addition to large and extra large, as I'm a light eater and pho doesn't hold well as leftovers. The small size was perfect for me! My boyfriend ordered his favorite Vietnamese dish, which is tofu with bamboo shoots, mushrooms and baby corn in a sauce of some sort with a side of rice. The dish sounds rather basic but he claims that it's the best! He hasn't been able to find it anywhere else so he makes it a must to go here whenever he comes back to Albuquerque. I guess he used to eat it here so much that the waitress even remembered him despite the fact that he's lived in San Diego for four years now. My boyfriend's mom ordered the chicken curry and it looked delicious. She did mention that it was a bit spicy though and she actually likes spice so I think that it would have been far too spicy for me.
