I'm living in Corrales for a few months and I kept driving by this place and assumed it was Japanese from the name. I finally figured out that it was a pho place so popped in for some bun and pho with my wife. Both were pretty good. The broth in the pho was rich and tasted like some time was put into it. The combo bun had a spring roll and several meats inclduing what tasted like homemade sausage. The young guy wating tables was friendly and efficient. My only complaint is that they charge a fee for cards. I get it in this economy, but it's annoying nontheless. Good place for a quick lunch or takeout. read more

We became ill after eating food that was presented as "gluten-free." This was our first visit, and we specifically asked about gluten-free accommodations before being seated. We're not certain which item caused the issue (possibly the egg rolls), but the overall experience was disappointing. The lemongrass soup was barely warm, the vegetables in the vegetarian soup were undercooked, and the grilled beef plate was underwhelming--very small for the price ($13.95), with what looked and tasted more like a meatloaf-style beef than grilled beef, served with a minimal scoop of rice. We've been eating Vietnamese food in Albuquerque for over 17 years and have had consistently better experiences elsewhere. First time trying pho from Pho Kobe tonight! I took it to-go and it was awesome. My picture doesn't do it justice. I got the #26 with filet mignon and my friend got the #24 with allll the meats. Everything was separately wrapped in plastic wrap and well-organized. The broth was delish. I loved how I could taste the hints of ginger. The portion size of noodles, broth, basil, bean sprouts, lime, jalapeño slices, etc was more than enough. The young man who helped us when we picked up our pho was friendly and helpful. Came to Pho Kobe with my girlfriend for lunch today. We had our choice of tables, settling on #1, by the front counter. After a brief inspection of the menu, we ordered tofu spring rolls and a small bowl of beef pho. The spring rolls were quite good, just the right size, and nicely priced at $4. Then came the pho. After adding in bean sprouts, cilantro, and jalapeño, I snapped open my chop sticks and mixed it all together. The noodles are flat and wide, unlike the thin rice noodles I'm used to. The beef was also much thicker than the rare steak I typically see; indeed, you could really taste the meat. I scooped it all together and helped myself. The broth was pleasant, though quite greasy. I was wiping off my lips after each slurpy bite. Interesting first experience! I'm throwing them four stars because the service was good and the food is decent. read more

The food here is definitely delicious. We had been here before about the same time in the midafternoon. Unfortunately, we won't be going back. The TV was so loud we could hardly hear each other. The wall next to us was splattered with food. The splatters even went up the wall. The condiment bottles were very dirty as was the metal holder on the table. It was empty but we guessed it was for straws, silverware or napkins. It was no longer shiny because it was so dirty and full of fingerprints. We we're concerned at first being the only customers in the restaurant. That certainly eased once we asked for menu recommendations and enjoyed the spring rolls. The westside has a gem of Vietnamese cuisine in Pho Kobe on Corrales Rd. Their food is tasty. Price is totally reasonable. Service & food delivery to the table is prompt. If you get Jordan as your waitress, you've won the lottery for friendliest server west of the Rio Grande. The owner is also a very warm & engaging host. Everyone on staff was great. I opted for #26 beef combo bowl of pho. Fine, if somewhat typical, flavor. It was a mondo portion size as is the standard for pho, accompanied by the usual plate of basil, bean sprouts, jalapenos, & cilantro. It would be an easy reorder choice for me. In the dead of winter, there's no better blanket, for me, then a steaming, spicy bowl of pho. Thanks to an ever-expanding wealth of solid Vietnamese eateries all over the city, it's a downright delight to make this a part of your urban adventure; over the last couple of weeks, I've checked out three new brothels, and Pho Kobe was a standout, not only for the soup, but the location: finally, great Asian food is finding a home on the west side. My rule regarding a worthy pho find: I'm downing every last drop, like, tipping that thang to my lips, could care less if some of it lands on my shirt. I'm happy to report that the Pho Bac, a traditional northern pho, was worth every slurp. This is my favorite take on the dish, dark and nearly thick broth, heavy ginger wallop, already spicy and a total knockout loaded with all the fixins, from garnish to sauces (they offer everything: hoisin, sriracha, soy, and a jar of nuclear red pepper). I'd suggest the thin noodles, rather than the wider variety, otherwise it rocked. Two other notes. The chicken pho was completely on the opposite spectrum (as anticipated) and honestly pretty flat, I didn't taste the anticipated star anise, I'd try something else. Spring rolls were standard issue, good. And a note about prices. These guys sell banh mi at less than six bucks a pop, everything's affordable, I really appreciate the value of Vietnamese food and I'm sure that's a big reason why I'm loving these pho adventures in ABQ. read more

Stopped here on a Saturday night on a whim, looking for dinner before heading through to corrales, AND BOY AM I GLAD WE DID. The food here is fast, fresh, and above all else TASTEY. To quote Kelsea "my only complaint is that there is too much food". Our waiter, in particular, Was amazing... (young man with glasses wearing Nike gear who was amazing with every customer in the store and 10000% deserves a raise) he gave great advice, joked around with us, upselled is on the meal, and was generally a great, happy person to be around. I had the grilled chicken, vermicelli noodle bowl... it was heavy on the noodles, but the chicken was juicy and tastey and worth it. The dish in total was light and flavorful and delicious. Kelsea and Tim split a tofu sandwich they said was the best in town, as well as a tofu pho bowl they fought about who got to finish. Emily also got the tofu pho bowl, and had nothing to complain about (high praise from her). Overall, this will definitely be a go to spot near Corrlese!!! Vietnamese food has become my new obsession. I was quite excited to see this place pop up recently on Yelp. Headed over on a Friday night and came into a semi-packed restaurant. The place is small inside and quiet. You could literally probably hear a cricket pass gas in here; that's how quiet it is. You can also hear everything that everyone else is saying, more on this later. They have a very limited selection to choose from on their menu. To me, it looked a bit more like a takeout menu as compared to a regular restaurant menu. However, on this occasion I decided to have the noodle bowl and an ice tea. It took an extremely long time for our waiter to attend to my table. It was not just me, I could hear other people complaining about the service as well. I also witnessed several people leave out of frustration. The food and iced tea finally arrived almost 45 minutes after being ordered. The flavor of the food was really good but the portions were small. The price is not worth what you actually get. The ice tea was laughable. It literally looked like water and tasted the same. I was not too impressed with this place and I most likely will not be back. I guess that's the price to be paid for being an early adopter of a new restaurant. read more

Just moved from LA and have been on the hunt for a good Pho place in Abq. This place is by far the winner! We ordered a small chicken pho for my 4 and 3y/o to share (we should have ordered a large because they loved it so much) one large chicken pho for my wife and I had the #8 - their beef pho and some spring rolls. It was soooo good! The chicken pho was clean, tasty and had the perfect amount of chicken and noodles. My beef was tender, well proportioned, the broth was not too salty and wonderfully flavored. My 4y/o son said his soup was better than candy! And this kid is such a pain to get to eating... I probably should have started this review with that actually. In an effort to try someplace new and keep the $$$ in the neighborhood, I had lunch here today. Mixed reviews here, the Rare Beef Pho was definitely hot with plenty of noodles. The overwhelming spice was the star anise, a more blended flavor of all spices would have carried the dish. Too much of an oil slick topped the bowl having to work around it. Lime would have been preferred over lemon, didn't notice the chili oil until I was pretty much done. The banh mi of beef would have been great if it wasn't for the over cooked and dried out beef. The pickled veggies were great and the bread wasn't a baguette but sufficed. It can't be easy to run a restaurant after Covid and all the pressures on staffing and costs of goods. I appreciate these places being open but still need to get my $$$'s worth. I will definitely be back. read more

The pork chop was the best dish, super flavorful and the rice was awesome. I think they cooked the rice in chicken stock because it was not regular white rice. I also ordered a sandwich to go which I would recommend. Simply delicious. All in all, I would recommend this place.
