The dining room is very bright and comfortable.

My son and I wanted pho again. We made a plan for yesterday, but changed it up at the last minute. Our usual place has been closed a lot recently, so we had a Plan B. Then we decided to go with Plan B from the start to try a new place. I really liked this place. It was bright, clean, and spaciously comfortable. It had plenty of parking, and the menu had everything I wanted. We had come for pho, so that's what we ordered. We started off with an order of grilled pork soft spring rolls with fish sauce. They were rolled nice and tight and had delicious smoky grilled pork stuffed throughout the whole roll. There were less noodles in them than I have had at other places, which really let the flavors of the other ingredients come through. I really liked that our server split the order up and gave us our own plates and dipping sauce. I would go back to Berni Pho just to eat those rolls! Both of us had a large bowl of the Berni Pho. That is the one that has rare steak, brisket, tripe, tendon, meat balls. We usually order the one with the most variety meats wherever we go. We both tasted the broth the second it hit the table. It was absolutely delicious. I could tell that it was a bone broth that had simmered for hours. I added Sriracha and Hoisin Sauce like I usually do. Then I noticed that our server had given us each our own plate of beansprouts, jalapeno slices, cilantro, and lime wedges. I dumped it all in and squeezed the lime on top. Then I mixed it up well. The next five minutes were a heavenly experience. This was one of the best bowls of pho I have ever eaten. I thought I would miss the Thai Basil leaves, but I was wrong. Cilantro kicked it up a notch. I got to the end of my bowl and poured the last spoonful of broth directly on the spoon to savor. My pho bowl is always bone dry when I'm finished. Then I use a paper towel (which I bring from home) to wipe my face, sit back, and enjoy that wave of warm fullness that almost always comes over me after eating pho. Then the server surprised us with a small bowl of "soup". It was lavender-colored and packed with tapioca pearls. I assumed it would be chilled, but I was wrong. It was piping hot and soothing. I really hate to say this, since I am very fond of my usual pho venue, but I'm pretty sure that my son and I will be bumping Berni Vietnamese Restaurant up to A Plan status in the future.

Great service for one person working the dining area, chicken pho is pretty tasty just a little on the salty side, everything else is pretty spot on. Casual environment with great relaxing music.

Food is okay, kind of bland.. and there are barely any noodles in the Pho. I like noodles in my soup; Send NOODS! Vietnamese coffee tastes burnt.

I was there on a cold day towards the end of the lunch time rush and these guys were BUSY! Still, service was friendly and as quick as possible, considering. They seemed understaffed, maybe somebody called in sick that day. The food was absolutely delicious, exactly what we needed on a cold and rainy day. The Pho was great, the vermicelli bowl was great, just a wonderful soul warming meal. Excited to try more items on their menu.

Quick service. Restaurant is clean. Rare steak was great and we received a complimentary dessert.

Ordering takeout (usually get the Chicken White Meat pho) so I can bring some to my mom who is currently in the hospital!

Such a nice and comfy place, been needing some warm soup during the cold winter. Service is always good and always welcoming!

Just moved in the area and wanted pho for dinner. Read reviews and wanted to find this place a try. Ordered medium size pho#1.... Broth was good. Bit sweet. Barely any meat. The taro with topica dessert that comes after the meal was the best part. Over all I would come back.

This place by far has the one of the tastiest Pho in town. It is more savory than sweet and it is extremely tasty and full of flavor. I got the Berni Pho and it has enough ingredients to fill the entire bowl. I really appreciate that they pack a pho spoon on their to-go orders, making the to go experience even better!

The noodles and chicken had fantastic flavor. The chicken and broccoli were cooked perfectly. I did struggle eating the noodles with chop sticks or even a fork as they were so slippery. I ended up having to use a spoon. It likely didn't help that the noodles seemed to be cut short. The owners seem to be a mom and pop, so it could be a little slow ordering and obtaining your food, but it's so worth it. Cute decorations that make you feel cozy. I had no idea that each dish came with a toro pudding, but it was warm and delightful.

Ask the Community - Berni Vietnamese Restaurant

Are they open? We've called, stopped by at different times. Nothing. Online it says they are only open Saturday, so we came today, and nothing. They seems to always be closed.

Same. I drive by plenty of times during the week and I've called myself. The answer below said they are opened but their hours still look the same. I love this place and have been wanting it for months!!!

Is this restaurant open anymore? I've been by at random times on different days, and the door is always locked.

Yes. Ate there a few weeks ago. Hours slightly odd. Maybe you aren't hitting right hours.… Read more

I am afraid that I must change my review of Pho Kim Long. I am sad to do so because this was one of…read moremy favorite local restaurants for over a decade. However, my most recent encounter has soured me completely, and I think I will never return. My favorite dish here was something that did not appear on the menu, Bo Tai Chanh salad. Even though it was not listed, they would whip it up at my request. It consists of beef cappaccio on an iceberg lettuce salad with Vietnamese vegetables and a fish sauce based dressing. Tonight they refused my order. What makes this refusal all the more frustrating is that Pho Bo Tai Chanh (the soup version) is listed on the menu and promoted as one of the favorite dishes. All that was needed, to meet my request, was to cut up half a head of lettuce and throw the non-liquid ingredients of the soup on top. Every restaurant should remember the customer is always right. Their only purpose is to meet their customers' requests to the best of their ability. I understand when a kitchen cannot meet requests with the ingredients or equipment they have. For example, I always call 24 hours ahead to order Peking Duck because the traditional methods require that amount of time to prepare the dish. Or I remember being refused a request to have my meat served rare when the restaurant had already cooked all its meat to medium rare using sous vide. I don't expect the kitchen to do the impossible. But every kitchen must be ready to meet special request whether health related like peanuts, shrimp, gluten, salt, carbohydrates, etc. or relate to tastes or ethics like vegetarian, vegans, seafood, etc. To fail one's customers is the first step to being one of the numerous restaurants to fail and become irrelevant. Any restaurant that refuses to meet reasonable requests fails the fundamental test for good service and does not deserve to be patronized. P.S. I end up going down the road to Yaya's Thai Restaurant (another local restaurant) to get something that met my tastes and preferences.

All things in my mind brought this down from a 5 star to a 4. Clean up the tables is definitely something the restaurant has control over. We sat down, and the acetone smell dissipated so either I was use to it or they turned down a shared ventilation system. The food though was the big surprise! It was excellent. We ordered the Special House Bun with beef, pork, chicken, shrimp and a crispy egg roll. All the proteins were cooked perfectly. The real winner was the lemongrass Banh mi with once again perfectly proportioned ingredients. We also ordered the fresh spring roll, which never came but wasn't missed except that they did try to charge us for but did remove them. They definitely have some work to make this a comfortable dining experience but I wouldn't let it stop you from trying some phenomenal Vietnamese food.
