Glad we looked past the 1-star reviews on here. Though the restaurant is very basic - it's what you would expect of a traditional Southeast Asian hole-in-the-wall place. If you're staying at a high-end hotel in the area this could be a culture shock. The dining area seemed clean and they do mandatory COVID Vaccine checks when you come in the door. We both had Pho, my wife's was vegetable (still a beef broth) and mine was meatball, and we thought they were quite good! Admittedly we aren't Pho experts but do enjoy it from time to time. Delicious authentic Vietnamese food in Honolulu! The spring rolls were fresh and came with dipping sauce. The bbq pork banh mi (not pictured) was also very good. The broth of the pho was the highlight and took me back to Vietnam. Lots of condiments, hoi sin and sriracha sauce provided. Service was fast and friendly. Would highly recommend 10/10. read more

This restaurant is located next to 7-11 in Waikiki across from Landmark and Waipuna. It shares a few parking stalls with the other tenants in the building but it is free parking (when there is a stall open). Free parking in Waikiki is unheard of so that's a plus one star. Both times I came here, I got lucky and got the last available stall. The interior and decor is old but the dining area is spacious. Service is friendly but they are very, very slow! The portions are small here. Their large is normally a medium or small at other pho restaurants so keep that in mind. With the pho portion size being small, so was the portions of fresh veggies. I was disappointed in the lack of rare steak that came with my order. Both times I had to order an appetizer or banh mi just to feel content, not full, when leaving. Another plus side is that their pho prices are reasonable and especially in Waikiki. Flavors aren't bad here and their sauté sauce is pretty good. It was the highlight of my meal here. I liked it so much that I added it to each bite of pho and banh mi. This restaurant is a good option for pho in Waikiki for residents in the area and tourists. My friend loves this place and highly recommends it. They accept cash and major credit cards as a heads up. read more

Worst place ever. Rude on the phone and when we ate there last night, a lot of food tasted spoiled and today 3 of 4 people are sick.

We were looking to have some pho located close to our hotel in Waikiki. It was rather easy to find the establishment which is right next to 7-11 convenience store. The establishment is a mom and pop kind of restaurant in a really old building. Upon walking in, we were immediately greeted and seated. We ordered 2 seafood pho, 1 rare beef pho, and meatless pho with no veggies. We asked for steamed bean sprouts. Unless you ask, you will get them raw. The side plate with bean sprouts doesn't come with jalapeño so you'll have to ask for it. Our food cane out within 10 minutes and it was delicious. Staff are really friendly. If you don't have a car and your hotel is located near Ala Mona, this location is definitely within easy walking distance. read more

We have eaten here several times. The food is very fresh here. It's always made to order. Their Phö and vermicelli Bün was very tasty. A great neighborhood Vietnamese place for the hotel guests and locals. More than anything else we (three friends from three continents) really appreciated Michelle, the cook, taking us in when they have just closed the place today. We were tired and hungry when we got there this evening and her smile and delicious food was a welcome treat. I highly recommend this hidden restaurant in Waikiki. This place looks like a hole in the wall, near a 7-11 and laundromat. Love the pho--especially with tendon and tripe. My husband likes the ban mi Vietnamese sandwich. The pho here is great! The broth is flavorful, not too herby, but very standard. I think the best part that really keeps me coming back is the Beef that comes inside the pho. Food was delicious. This review is based on food quality over decor. Got the large pho and it came out hot with side of fresh fixins/greens. Spring rolls were crispy and tasty. Modest tables and chairs and the floor looks like it could use a replacement and prices have gone up, but food was high quality and well made. All the veggies/fixings were fresh, cleaned and crispy, unlike the wilted basil and greens and brown bean sprouts you get at other places. Meat in my pho were tender, broth perfectly flavorful and portions were plentiful. Server/owner? was attentive. Pay at counter. Place is no frills but food was outstanding. One our first meals in Hawaii. We were looking for something close to us and this was a great find. The pho was delicious. We had some meaty combination pho as well as a vegetarian; both delicious and filling. I also ordered a Thai iced tea, perfect sweetness. There were a few fish tanks that kept my attention as well as a quiet space with some light music. Excellent for a conversation or to relax while you're eating a meal. The folks at the restaurant were wonderful. We weren't sure what order we wanted, and shortly after ordering we were able to make a change to our order with no trouble at all. Let me start off with a disclaimer that I only eat my mothers pho. With that being said, this review is for food items other than pho. Pho Minh Thu is my dads go to with all his taxi cab buddies. You'll regularly see taxi cab drivers dining here on a daily basis. What my dad appreciates about this place is that they'll serve your rice plates with something that literally translates to green onion oil (by request). This is my dads crack. The rice plates here are so good! The bbq pork is always done just like how they do it back home (what dad has said). By that we mean, juicy, tender, and the right amount of burnt edges. Moving on, my dad introduced me to this place and I have fallen in love with their rice noodle dishes (vermicelli). I consistently order the vermicelli with spring rolls and shrimp. It's just so good here! They also portion out the lettuce and noodles perfectly (big deal!!!). And it is always so refreshing and filling when I order this. As another note: fish sauce. This place makes real fish sauce. Not the diluted excuse that many others imitate. And if you don't know, fish sauce is a big deal in Vietnamese cuisine. We use it in almost everything. Weak fish sauce = weak flavor. But other than the food, stepping into this place is like a step into pho restaurants back in the mother land (minus the usage of Christmas lights as decoration). Ph Minh Thu is pretty easy walk if you are staying near the Hilton Hawaii Village and are craving pho. Located between an Irish pub and a laundromat, this place isn't going to win any awards on décor or ambiance, but it is clean no frills kind of shop (like a lot of pho places are). We were greeted and served quickly. My hubby and I both are Pho Bo Vien (Meatball) fans, so we both got a large order each. The serving seemed to be what I would consider a medium back home, but it was plenty. The herbs were fresh, although I am used to lime with my pho and they served it with lemon (no real taste difference). Generally I found it to be a decent broth. Everything tasted just a little different here, but that is how pho broth goes. We did have a really annoying guy that screamed into his phone all lunch and they don't really have or use A/C. Pho in HI? Sure! I try to hit up at least one pho place in the area when I'm on vacation? Why? Because I have a weird thing about trying at least one Pho place in every state/country/area. Just to say yeah, I've tried it. With that said, this pho isn't actually too bad. We didn't want to walk further down for the other pho place on Kalakaua, it was too far in this hot weather...They had a good amount of noodles and the beef wasn't tough. It was pretty good. The basil leaves were very plentiful and fresh. The only thing I didn't like was the summer rolls aka eggrolls. It was small/short and was bland. I say stick with pho and no appetizer. Exceptional taste for their pho, egg rolls, and their com tam plate. For their com tam plate, my suggestion is to make sure the egg patty (cha Chung) is slightly bigger. Also be sure to include bi tinh (shredded pork) and maybe 1 sunny side up egg on top of the grill meat as a nice garnish. The taste of the food was so good! The broth was ono!!! The price is pretty reasonable. I love it however the atmosphere made me uncomfortable. Would have given a 5/5 but the surrounding needs deep cleaning, fresh paint etc. You can see the inside of the kitchen which had black walls and trash can which ruins the food eating atmosphere. The chicken pho was also very good. Good portion sizes of chicken and noodles. I got a large pho and I ate it all. The broth wasn't the most flavorful I've ever had but it was still very good. We got a very large super fresh side of basil- probably the freshest best basil I have every had at a pho restaurant. This was my second time here and I will definitely come here again. My go to pho spot. I found this place when I was living in the area and was looking for something to eat. They have really good pho it's on point I can't complain. I like their spring rolls and egg rolls just wish they had sweet sauce To dip in instead of peanut sauce and vinegar oil dippin sauce. But I usually only go for their pho. I like to dine in rather than take out due to them giving raw meat that u put into the broth & when taking out I find the broth isn't hot enough to cook meat I always have to reheat broth when I get home. Don't be deceived by the outside of the building or the shady 7-Eleven next door to it. This is overpriced Pho. $16.50 for a medium and $17.50 for a large. The taste of the broth is good. I feel like there was a lack of meat though. The service was fine. Overall it gets the job done, but not worth the price point. The egg rolls are tasty, the spring rolls are standard. read more

Such an interesting hole-in-the-wall restaurant I wandered into. The decor needed attending to and the bathroom needed cleaning, as it was filthy. This restaurant was in need of repair and cleaning. However, the food is amazing! I ordered a beef vermicelli dish and I just want to come here every day for dinner to order their beef vermicelli dish. The meat had a robust greasy beef flavor with just a hint of sweetness. The sauce used for dipping the meat and noodles consisted of fish sauce and seasoned rice vinegar, which contains a little sugar in it. The dipping sauce complimented the meat, fresh vegetables, and vermicelli noodles perfectly within this dish. The restaurant was packed on Thursday night. The owner and his wife were so polite and kind. I can overlook the dire need of repair for this restaurant because I am entirely entranced by the food!!
