Doesn't look like much when you pass by... but this place is essentially a waiting room that serves food. Took forever to get the food. Like 30 minute wait after ordering. Food came. It was fine. Not special. But for as long as we waited I would have expected to have a physical, get a flu shot and a see my primary care physician. Silverware was dirty. Service is sketchy. The Pad Thai is amazing! I received a good size portion and they had the cabbage and bean sprouts on the side so the bean sprouts were cold. Would have liked the bean sprouts to have been warm with the pad Thai. I ordered through Grubhub and had left in the notes to please add shrimp instead of chicken and they did! My daughter had the strawberry milk tea with the tapioca and she loved it! I tried it and it was sweet so we added almond milk in it to lessen the sweetness. Not a fan of the tapioca balls myself though. We did try the fried shrimp and it wasn't too bad, it was just a little different because it was wrapped in rice paper. My go-to spot for Pho, Vietnamese and Thai. There are so many healthy options here it will take you many meals to try them all. My wife is a big fan of the pho, the broth is wonderfully complex and flavorful. She customizes the ingredients on each visit. I'm a little more boring alternating between the pad Thai and pad see ew, which has excellent broad noodles. The pineapple fried rice is on point. During the COVID challenges that are reeking havoc on locally owned restaurants, I make it a point to come here every week or two to get a great to-go meal as I'd hate to see them disappear. Before Pho Nam was located here, it was in Hillsboro, where we used to live. The saddest thing about moving to Portland near Tigard was not being near Pho Nam anymore, so when they moved closer, we were ecstatic! Even before, we gladly drove a distance to have theirs. Weve had all the pho the metro area has to offer and this is the best. It's all of the wonderful things you've already read in other reviews. These folks are like family to us now. My husband introduced me to their pho when we first met 14 years ago. He had already been a fan of theirs for since 1999. Thats 21 years. Okay I've lived in the area for 22 years. I remember when Progress Ridge was a forest. I've eaten probably at all of the Vietnamese and Thai restaurants within a 5 mile radius. This is by far one of the best. They are kind, their service is quick, their food is delicious, and they're local! I love their pho and the pad see ew. I honestly can't get enough. This was my go to place after 16-hour shifts at my job. It's comforting and delicious. Not to mention for the amount of food you get is a reasonable price. Came here a couple of times with my coworkers and it was good. The owner is super friendly and always greets us with a smile. Place is small but can't complain since I've never been when it's packed. Wait was super short, maybe because there's not much of a lunch rush? They have many variations of pho and bun available. I've tried both and they're both good. Usually not a fan of egg rolls, but the one served with the bun I ordered was nice. Portion size was decent and you can easily size up your pho for an extra $1. My coworker did that one time and it was massive. She barely made a dent, but you can easily ask for a to go box/container, so that's good. Guess you really get a bang for your buck! If you're in the area, it's good. Probably not the best I've ever had, but for the price and overall service, I'd say it's a solid place to go to if you're ever craving pho. read more

We kind of stumbled upon this place while grabbing some Blue Star donuts from next door. So glad that we did. They have good food that is made fresh. Portions are reasonable for the price. Buyer beware. We ordered two of the #20 for takeout, a dish we had ordered before without issue. When we got home, we realized that the shrimp skewers (as stated clearly on the menu) had been replaced with two (2) tiny shrimp. Additionally, the knife work was sloppy, barely cut-up chicken and vegetables. Completely inconsistent food quality. We called to ask if we may have received the wrong order, and were told that the order was correct, and that they don't have shrimp skewers. The lady in the phone became rude, pushy, and argumentative. A little advice to ownership: if you run out of a menu item, be up-front, tell your customers, and let them decide what to to. If the kitchen is pushing out food that is inconsistent with what's stated on the menu, don't sell it. Lying to your customers, then insisting they're wrong is simply bad business. From Pho to Thai with drink choices to include smoothies, Thai and Vietnamese coffee and Thai boba tea, this spot is perfect! When you arrive, you wait to be seated and order at the table. Once you are finished with your meal, you go to the cashier to pay, they won't typically bring the bill to the table, although this has happened a few times. I have never written a review like this. There are clearly serious food safety issues happening here. First, The gal making my food was eating which, I know people get away with but, no hand washing and it is something they tell you NOT to do if you take a simple food safety class. Second and most importantly, I may be inexperienced since I have only been to a dozen or so pho places for take out but, NEVER has my pho been packaged this way. THE MEAT WAS RAW IN THE BOTTOM OF THE TO GO CONTAINER, with the noodles on top. HELL NO. Gross cross contamination everywhere, food served at unsafe temperatures, THE MEAT GOES IN THE BROTH you guys. The question on everyone's minds... Is Pho Nam "phonomenal" or not? First of all I like the play on words with "Nam" in its name. Yes we've seen it done before but it's still cute. Is it for "nam" as in Vietnam? (Probably!) Or could it be for "nam" as in Nom Nom? (Probably not!) Maybe it's "Pho Nam" for phenomenal? (That would be witty!) Regardless of the reasoning for their name I thought it was cute. Pho Nam is a small Vietnamese restaurant with some Thai food also on the menu. They have several different kinds of pho available and even a Pho Ga if you're not in the mood for beef pho. They have the traditional offerings of Bun rice noodle bowls as well. So there's something for everyone and they even had Thai curries including Massaman curry which you don't see very often on many Thai menus. For an appetizer we ordered the salad rolls with pork and shrimp. They are two rolls cut in half so we split them. I was a bit disappointed that they used what appears to be iceberg lettuce in them and that there were no herbs used leaving my tastebuds feeling as if they were cheated and the rolls lacking in flavor. Just a little basil or mint would have helped tremendously. We both ordered the pho ga and the meatball soup. I thought the broth was pretty good in the pho ga and they gave the side of one spring of basil and sprouts. The basil was as if it was just picked off the vine and there wasn't a single brown sprout on the plate. The limes were also fresh as were the jalapeño slices. Great job on extremely fresh vegetables! I hate when I have to pick off the rotten leaves from basil before eating my pho! The meatball soup was just okay. But they gave a lot of meat balls and by cutting them in half it makes the bowl look more full. If you order iced tea or soft drinks they give you a cup and you go and get your drink yourselves. If you order hot tea or water they will bring that to you. The wait staff was polite and friendly but after we finished eating we waited a long time for the bill so I had to ask for it. For the area, it's a descent place, but it's not 4.5 stars. read more

We search this place out as we had a hankering for Pho and this was the the only place open on Sunday's. We were so hungry we ordered an order of salad rolls (4) and we had bowls of Pho. I have been coming here for years!!! I would consider the food my comfort food and not just me, but my entire family. My daughter and I specifically like #31, soft egg noodle with chicken. The taste has never changed for years! My youngest is a picky eater but this is her favorite! Chicken pho is also good. My husband likes wonton noodle soup #18. I love this place and come 4-5 times a month for lunch. I always eat in. The tables are always clean, and seating area is surrounded by windows, so very bright. The salad roles (#1) are made fresh daily - and often made to order. They are cut in 4 sections come with a great peanut dipping sauce that I wish they'd give just a little more of, as I always run out by the last section. They have a great selection, phos as well as Thai curries, and other Thai dishes. I highly recommend this place and will definitely come back when in Beaverton. read more

Unfortunately I am a huge pho snob. I've made it over 100 times. I've tried many places. This place was just not for me. The broth didn't taste like pho broth. It was just a bowl of salt water. I even added pho beef paste I had at home. I ordered the rare round steak and brisket and it wasn't rare. It was fast but the meal itself was not good. I'm sorry. Stopped by here for a late lunch on a friend's recommendation. I ordered the Pho Rau (#7 item on the menu) with shrimp. I really liked the broth. The vegetables (won bok, broccoli, carrots) were very fresh. My friend ordered the Mi Xa Xiu (#17) -- this was also very good. The broth was savory -- not too salty or too sweet. I think the type of noodles in my friend's dish was egg noodles. Sort of reminded me of a ramen-style dish.
