The Service is always great the ladies are sweet and accommodating and answer any questions - They seat you right away and check in to make sure everything is good throughout the meal. As usual, I love this place. The service is always great. The food is consistently delicious . I always get the Thai iced tea and they never fail to make it just right! Even when I make special requests they are good at getting it right. I've been going here for over 10 years. The only complaint I've ever had was their darned front door has some odd vacuum suction that makes it difficult to open. But that doesn't really change the awesomeness of this place. Pad Thai and Tom Kha coconut chicken soup were very bland and lacked flavor. The soup especially was very diluted and not very much chicken, with mostly onions and cilantro. It didn't have the authentic aromatics such as galangal, lemongrass, and kaffir lime leaves like most restaurants. It was our first time ordering delivery and wanted to try this place out since it is close by. However it was not what we were expecting based on some good reviews. With that said we don't think we will be ordering from here in the near future, but may be willing to try it again. read more

I recently saw this Thai spot near my home. I decided to stop by for lunch, and upon entering it was very empty an quiet. Which made me ponder if the food was going to be good or not. And to my surprise after I received my food, it was absolutely delicious. Thai food is very difficult to get right, because it has to be spicy, sweet an acidic all at the same time. If one is unbalanced it doesn't taste quite right. And after ordering from this restaurant a few times, I find that the balance of flavors are always spot on. I'm not sure how this spot isn't more busy? It's absolutely delicious with affordable pricing as well. I highly recommend. Support this small business! Sadly this place has declined in food quality and I hate to say it. Every dish we've had in our past few visits have been flat on taste. Noodles have either been overcooked or rubbery. Greeted immediately when walking in and saw that menus were out on a small front table with specials and the regular menu. Employee was patient as I was taking time to decide and asked a couple questions too. Got a Zab signature menu item, the spicy crispy chicken basil to go and waited for less than 10 minutes. Fast service and it is the most popular item as the employee noted. The entree was filling and enjoyed the chicken, vegetables, and crispy basil but there was no spice at all. Now looking back I wonder if I should of asked how spicy it was so I could adjust accordingly or just get it spicier next time. Nothing some hot sauce at home couldn't fix. While waiting, I noticed the large spacious restaurant and it seems like they take reservations which is convenient during these times (as a couple tables had reservation signs up) and many carry out orders coming in by phone. Up until about a year ago, when I last visited Zab Thai, I would have agreed wholeheartedly that the Beef Noodle Soup was outstanding. In fact, it was my favorite dish and I raved about it to anyone who would listen. Unfortunately, after traveling from NE Portland to pick up 2 orders of the beef soup yesterday, my opinion has changed drastically. Perhaps it's because I ordered my food to go and they thought they could get away with it, but for whatever reason, I have to say the beef soup was beyond disappointing---it was disgusting. As a previous reviewer indicated, Yes, the beef in the Beef Noodle Soup used to be amazingly tender, such that you could probably eat it without chewing. That was not the case with either of my 2 orders yesterday. The beef, as you can see in the photos I am sharing, has a tough, rubbery, layer. You can even tell by the way it is curled up in the photos below. And it's not that there were amazing cuts of beef with a few of these pieces mixed in... This was ALL of the beef. Just look at the consistency and judge for yourself. As for me, I will never order from Zab Thai again. Fool me once, shame on you... Fool me twice...? Not a chance. read more

Finally tried this place after living nearby for a couple of months. Did not disappoint, maybe one of the best Thai spots in Beaverton. Staff was very nice and environment was clean. Tried the Pad Thai and Drunken Noodles, both were exceptional. The chicken was cooked to perfection and the sauce hit just right. Also tried the appetizer sampler and would highly recommend, if you had to choose one I'd say the salad roles are the star (don't tell my mother). Will certainly be coming back! read more

Part of how you would rate a restaurant is your experience while eating there. This place was fairly decent until the end when I paid our tab. I added a tip which I thought was fair and reasonable. The man stepped out in the lobby complaining about the amount of tip given which was not only embarrassing to my adult children but to me. Then he insisted I pay more than I paid. I have always visited this place for lunch. Its a family run Thai place. Owner is friendly and she often checks how food and rest of the things are. Food was fresh and tasty. Though curry was little sweet for me. We ordered Red curry and Mussaman curry with Tofu and veggies. Impressive Veggies variety and tasted fresh too. I wished my red curry was more red. She mentioned due to more coconut milk it is yellow red. Two curries had different vegetable varieties. They have vegan options too. This is one of the best Thai options in Hillsboro. We love this place. Service is a touch slow but the food is better than you'd expect given the location. The Service has gone down, as a customer we dont expect much, just the basics. They failed in this area, no water, no check in, no siracha.......cmon no siracha,? When its there fault, they dont own up to it, just silence, and the wait staff speak very well. I did the takeout thing and it was good. The only issue I had was when I asked for some peanut sauce on the side (with my Pad Thai) I was told "it doesn't come with that". I said that I still want a side of it. I was then told that they cost $1.50 each. I said "Fine, give me two".
