There is jasmine tea and water on the side self served. Food was good and came out efficient. My friends ordered the beef soup pho while I ordered the vermicelli. I liked my bowl and the fish sauce was a bottle that you can add as much as you want. My friend's pho were ok, a bit too fat and not rare enough in my opinion. Idk how these places be having 4 stars. I swear half the restaurants on yelp with 4 stars are traps and gimmicks like this place. My family and I walked in and we were greeted by a staff member that was behind the counter sitting down. She told us to sit anywhere and to place an order at the front or on the menu. We also had to get our own water as it was self service. Not my ideal restaurant service but i didnt mind. But when the food comes thats when the whole vibe changed at our table. We all tried our food and it was disappointing. Our pho was a orange color and the noodles were overcooked and soggy. My mom's vermicelli bowl didnt come with fish sauce. And the server said the fish sauce was already on the table in a BOTTLE. Bro thats the giveaway that we were dining at a trap. Never have i seen fish sauce in a bottle to dispense. Plus the siracha wasnt even huy fong's siracha. It was some fake siracha. They also gave us dry wings that look like they were fried in old oil cus they were so dark. This place made me realize how much I love pho! I mean Vietnamese food period, it was so good! My husband and I was debating on where to eat, needless to say we came to an agreement and ended up here. This is my go to place for pho when I'm in the area. +1 for packing my rare steak separately so I can cook it the way I like it. They're really generous with their rice noodles and give a decent amount of meat in their combination pho (#1). Flavor of the broth was delicious! Their rice plates are a great option too but it doesn't have all the options to add additional sides found in more traditional rice plates like shrimp cake, shredded pork, egg cake, etc. Still, I do like ordering their rice plates because the meats are flavorful! **COVID REVIEW** I was craving Vietnamese rice plates but many Vietnamese restaurants were closed on Christmas Eve, this one was one of the few that had rice plates and was open. We ordered two rice plates (grilled beef short ribs and meat combination with shrimp) and ice coffee for pick up which took about 20 minutes. When we got there, we still had to wait 5-7 minutes for our order. Im going to spare the emotions and fist ration. For clarity, the restaurant was not half full and I would say 35-40% occupied. There appears to be 2 service person that brings out the food. Best vegetarian pho I've had in the East bay! The broth is delicious and earthy with many vegetables and fried tofu. I always end up getting the large sized pho and I get two meals out of it. The 3-star is because of the rather high price point considering this: few days ago at Pho Ha Noi, i ordered grilled pork and egg roll vermicelli (which is more ingredients than just egg roll) and with the Pho Ha Noi weekday special price, Pho Nation is $4-5 more with a smaller portion. I came on a Friday afternoon and it wasn't full at all. However the parking lot is quite full with the lunch crowds going to the Hong Kong Cafe Venus Cafe next door and the Fitness 19 gym in the same mall. The peanut sauce had a spice I couldn't identify, but it didn't taste like it was out of the bottle (so if it was, good on them for not making it obvious). I got it to go, ordered on Yelp. Nice place located in the plaza across the street from Del Taco, Pho Nation is right in the middle of plaza, easy to spot after you turn in. We were in the mood for Vietnamese food and are trying other local places out besides some of the places closer to us in Fremont, we liked how easy it was to order online using grubhub and once we arrived for pickup the interior was super clean and organized. The eggrolls were super fire, reminds me of some of the really good ones down south in Little Saigon and I like how it came with 4 eggrolls, shocked how some Bay Area places just give 2 eggrolls per order. The vermicelli combo had well cooked meat, super tasty marinade and that nice grill/fire flavor that makes it taste so good mixed with rice noodles and salad. Pho was good, all takeout Pho we reboil the soup at home and recommend you do that. The prices, first off, are on the higher end compared to other pho places in the area. You order first at the counter, and then you're given a number. Since I wasn't in the mood for pho, I decided to order a short rib rice plate instead which comes with salad and a side of soup. I was completely happy with my decision - the ribs were marinated in delicious sauces and seasoning and perfectly cooked. The portion size is decent as well. Got the #2 with a Coke Zero and it came out to about $20 which felt a little pricey but I hoped the pho would make up for that. The pho came out and it was really hot which was a plus and stayed hot throughout my dining experience. The basil was two stems but the leaves we're tiny as if it was the last two stems left on earth. The kind you would normal just throw away. The spring rolls were delicious. Fresh and nicely made. The pho + mixed vegetables dish is made with a mushroom broth that's made from scratch. It takes a bit longer than the bone broth, since it's not requested as much. This large pho dish was packed with mushrooms, tofu, onions, bok choy, rice noodles and more! This dish was a great substitute for me and very filling. The broth itself was very flavorful. It's a bit on the pricey side, but our meal was enjoyable. I'd definitely be back. Pho nation is a standard pho spot nestled between chase bank and Venus cafe. Arriving in the afternoon, we walked into a nearly empty restaurant and ordered a bun with egg rolls, pho and iced coffee. They're filled with your standard wood ears, carrots, vermicelli and meat filling, what I like is it's not overly peppered here like in many other places. The flavors are balanced and the texture is crispy with a nice toothiness. The vermicelli however left a little to be desired and the fish sauce didn't have enough sugar. The pho has a delicious broth, although the noodles were a little overcooked. However the black coffee, while tasting like Folgers, has a strangely addicting quality to it. All in all the items averaged around 3.5 stars which we rounded up. Service here is pretty much self serve. You go up and take your order at the counter then, depending on dine in or takeout, grab a number and sit or wait for your boxes of food. We opted for dine in this time, and although the utensils, water, teas are all provided in self service stations, our server who brought our the food was still very attentive and willing to provide us whatever we needed and refilled our drinks so 4 stars there.
