    34. Egg Rolls, Grilled Beef Short Ribs Vermicelli

Yummy comfort food! We have been to Pho Mama in Union City but this one is in Fremont. Love the ambience here and the Thai iced tea, Filet mignon and brisket tendon was good and piping hot and the eggroll and short ribs vermicelli were delish as the meat was tender! Service was attentive and we enjoyed the cozy atmosphere

The food here is great!!! The noodles are delicious!! The lemongrass chicken with garlic noodles had a burst of flavor! It was seasoned sooo well! The garlic noodles had a wonderful kick to it that balanced so nicely with the side of slightly sour carrots/daikon! I've also tried their crab noodle soup which is very ocean-vibe giving. It's hot and soothing to the chest. They are generous with their toppings too!! I probs wouldn't get the egg rolls again unless I'm desperately craving something crunchy with sweet chili sauce. Felt like I needed the sweet chili sauce to bring out the flavor

One of my wife's top choices for Vietnamese in the area. We are not Vietnamese but both of us have old friends who all coincidentally are Vietnamese so we've eaten a lot of Vietnamese food growing up. It is in the Raley's parking lot and though the parking lot is huge parking here can be stressful especially at peak times and on the weekend. A1. Spring Rolls: Grilled pork & shrimp wrapped in rice paper with lettuce, cucumbers, chives, daikon & mint served with peanut sauce. These are probably the best Spring Rolls I've had in this area, the special sauce is definitely the grilled pork which is flavorful and tender and really elevates this simple appetizer. Short Rib Pho: Comes with a giant caveman rib sticking out. This was trendy a couple years ago but here is the meat is well cooked and seasoned and not just a gimmick. Broth is also above average and delicious. Shrimp and Pork Vermicelli: My wife eats this when she feels like something "clean" and it's great here. The signature special sauce is the special way they grill the pork here. Fried Rice: This was the oddest one, this one is their own unique creation. It seems to use tomato rice and something fishy in the base. Meat was cut overly large for us but it was tender but too few egg was used and for leftovers I'm going to add more eggs.

I'd absolutely come here again. I wish the pho came with the meat on the side to throw in. Good atmosphere with tvs going. Good for an everyday type place. Very quick service and someone watching to see if people need anything.

This location is still going strong. I stopped getting their Bánh mì sandwiches and started getting their grilled pork vermicelli bowls instead. The pork is seasoned and grilled to perfection. The bowl is a good size and filled with all the toppings that come with your typical vermicelli bowls. I personally ask for cilantro and lemon on the side because it just adds that extra flavor profile I like. I also top it off with hoisin sauce and siracha. It's my go to when I come dine in. They have good customer service and the food comes out fairly quickly too. (See pics for reference).

It feels a bit more Americanized, everything on the menu is in English, which made me a little unsure about how authentic it would be. That said, the pho combo was actually pretty good and comforting. We also tried the spring rolls, but the noodles inside were slightly hard, which was a bit disappointing. There aren't a ton of Vietnamese spots in Fremont, and this place is okay overall. Service is pretty fast and it's in a good plaza.

I tried beef pho with tendon at Pho Mama and it was great! Substantial portion too, I took half home to eat the next day. The broth was excellent! Definitely in my top 3 for pho in the East Bay. Service was friendly and prompt, and the inside of the restaurant is cute and clean.

I got an order of spring rolls and summer rolls. I've never had a summer roll before but it was very enjoyable though I can't compare it. The spring rolls were also pretty good. The wrappers were fresh and the filling ratios were pretty good with a decent amount of protein. My primary complaint was the herb flavor was lacking. My preference is for the roll to have lots of fresh herbs and this didn't quite deliver there. The peanut sauce was pretty good and there was a good amount of it. Again, I like it with a little more peanut flavor but overall, I'd come back here as everything was fresh and I live quite close so it's super convenient. Definitely want to try some other items in the future. Note that the place looked busy and the interior had a cool vibe so I plan to eat in next time!

Pho Mama is a very clean and colorful restaurant chain to have traditional Vietnamese foods. We tried the Fremont one and we were not disappointed. The Filet Mignon noodle soup came with flavorful soup. And its veg add-on included cilantro besides the typical bean sprouts and Thai basil. The grilled pork w/ egg rolls vermicelli was also well presented. Our favorite was actually the sugarcane juice. Again you can only find that in few authentic Vietnamese restaurants. The kitchen was efficient and service was prompt too. Overall, it was a good dining experience. If I may help the restaurant to improve, I would suggest to lower the grease content in both the pho soup and the grilled pork. After all, the fat is good to savory but bad for my cholesterol.

Heard the hype about Pho Mama being on the guide. Came on a weekend about 30 minutes before opening and got first seating. Small restaurant. You could tell it was popular because of the huge line of people waiting outside. Pho Tai - really delicious. Meat was good quality and the broth was very flavorful. Really nice size of noodles and you could taste the richness of the soup. Garlic Noodles - these were ok. I think we've reached a point where maybe we need to stop with the garlic noodles, but I get it's still a fan fav. The flavor was very garlicky. Sauce was definitely on the more viscous side. Overall just fine. Marrow Toast - was excited for these but didn't really hit the spot, in my opinion. I would skip these. Fried Rice - GET THIS. The fried rice was so good. Really tasted that wok hei. Fantastic, deep flavor. I know - fried rice at a pho place - but do yourself a favor if you like fried rice and get this. Chili Oil Wonton - these I liked a lot. Had more of the chili flake flavor profile, which is nice. Huge wontons. Overall, some really good dishes, some ok. Definitely the pho and the fried rice.

Best banh mi in Fremont! Although known for pho, this restaurant has the tastiest banh mi in the area. The toasted baguette cradles the pate mayo spread, crisp pickled daikon and carrot, and marinated grilled chicken for a perfect bite. So impressed I went back twice in one week for the banh mi and the refreshing and light chicken salad.

Super happy to finally find a pho spot in Fremont that I'll be coming back to! Came on a Wednesday evening around 6:30pm with a few girlfriends -- it's been getting chilly, so a hot bowl of pho really hit the spot. Pho Mama is tucked in a large, busy plaza with lots of food options, so parking might take a few minutes but it's manageable. The restaurant itself is clean, relaxed, and not too crowded on a weeknight. I ordered the Combination Beef Noodle Soup (marked as "most recommended" on their menu). As a Vietnamese, I can be pretty picky about pho, but this one honestly surprised me -- the broth was flavorful yet clean, the noodles had a nice chew, and the meats were all good quality. 5/5! Service was friendly, attentive, and quick -- our food came out in about 10 minutes. Overall, great spot for pho in Fremont. Highly recommend and will definitely be back!

The Sour Bì Was the Last Straw…read more I've had both good and bad experiences with Pho Newark Com Tam Thanh over time, and for a while I considered it a decent, average place to grab Vietnamese food in the area. I also tend to give restaurants multiple chances before leaving a negative review because I understand that every place can have an off day. Unfortunately, I've now seen enough of a pattern that I'm done. Today I ordered the Combination Cơm Tấm and was utterly disappointed by the drop in quality. The bì (shredded pork skin) smelled sour and was completely mushy, despite the meal having just been purchased. It genuinely seemed spoiled, and I couldn't bring myself to eat it. The pork chop was bland and overly fatty, the fish sauce was nothing special, and the bánh mì was extremely disappointing as well. This wasn't an isolated issue either. On another visit, I found a hair in my food. And on some evenings, a staff member would clean the floors with such a strong bleach-smelling cleaner while customers were still eating that the chemical smell completely took over the dining area. Trying to enjoy a meal while your nose is full of cleanser is not exactly appetizing. I don't write a bad review because of one mediocre dish. I give places multiple tries because I want to be fair. But when the unpleasant experiences keep repeating, eventually it stops feeling like bad luck and starts looking like a quality-control problem. The sour-smelling, mushy bì today was the final straw. I can forgive average food. I'm not gambling with spoiled pork skin. Nope, nope. I'm done.

We have been here before, but last time I got so caught up enjoying the food that I forgot to leave a review, so I made sure to snap some pictures and write about it this time. Since the menu is simple and straightforward, service is quick and efficient. Even though it was not overly busy during our weekday dinner, I can see how it might fill up fast on weekends, but their fast turnaround means you never have to wait long. Here is what we ordered: #1 Chicken Pho (with bone and egg noodles): Definitely the winner for depth of flavor. The bone-in chicken makes the broth taste fantastic, rich, and deeply flavorful. #5 Boneless Chicken Noodles (with egg noodles): A great option if you do not want to deal with bones, though the bone-in version is still slightly more flavorful. On a server's enthusiastic recommendation, who told us, "Good choice, it is my favorite too," we added a fried sunny-side-up egg to the soup. It was a fun addition, though optional. Fresh Accompaniments: Both items came with a generous shared plate of fresh bean sprouts, Thai basil, jalapeños, and limes. Pro tip: throw the basil and bean sprouts in while the soup is piping hot for the best aroma and flavor. Mo Hanh (Green Onion Oil): Both soups also came with a side of Mo Hanh, which is chopped green onion with oil and a pinch of salt. It was amazing to have with the chicken, and I really loved that combination of flavors. Practical Details: Parking: Located in a plaza with ample parking. Being a weekday, we scored a spot right in front. Seating: Plenty of tables inside, though it can get busy during peak hours. Overall, Pho Ga 88 is a fantastic spot for a cozy meal, especially on a chilly day. We will definitely be back!
