1 order of veg chow mein and egg rolls

Good food, high prices, just ok service. Mushroom eggrolls are good. Across from the hub in Fremont. Easy parking right in front. TV'S tuned in to the news on my last visit.

This Pho restaurant is a decent spot if you're craving soup. The soup was good, but was a little light for my taste. Their egg rolls and spring rolls were fantastic. I might've just caught the broth on an off day, but it was a bit on the lighter side. My fiancé loves pho and is particular about a spots broth. She really likes this place and said the broth was a richer in beef flavor earlier in the week. Service was fast and friendly. Food came out even faster. Soup was hot and satisfied my cravings. I did come on a Saturday at 3pm so your mileage may vary. Ambiance was cute and calm. The walls are decorated with flowers, statues, and pictures of the dishes. Tables and seating match the decor. It was pretty quiet inside outside of other groups talking.

Tried this place for the first time on Christmas Eve. We ordered over the phone for pick up. There was another review on here about them messing up phone orders and it's correct. My husband got home from picking it up while it was pouring rain to open up the food and mine is pork with white rice and some lettuce. It was not only a very sad looking plate but also the wrong plate. He felt bad and being we don't live too far called them to get the correct order. After a few minutes of the woman on the phone figuring out which order it was, she said that the other woman on the phone thought it was number 38 and not 28. Luckily they said to come back down and they'll make the correct order. Like I said, I'm glad we live close otherwise it wouldn't have been worth it to drive in the pouring rain in the dark on Christmas Eve. When he got back the second time, it was correct. Unfortunately, by that time, his plate along with the Vietnamese egg rolls were no longer hot. We ordered A-3 (Vietnamese fried egg rolls), 28 (beef over vermicelli), and 31 (combination vermicelli). It was around $50. This was not worth the money. There were hardly any pickled veggies in either vermicelli plates which stinks because I love pickled veggies. The beef in mine was pretty fatty and wasn't cut up at all so it was difficult to eat. I don't like fatty or gristly meats so I had to pick it apart to eat it and remove the nasty pieces. There was a little bit of lettuce but it was under the noodles and meat. I wish they put it with the veggies so it wouldn't get soggy. The shrimp cake in the combination plate was greasy and smelled more fishy than other shrimp cakes we've had. The meat on the plate was also pretty fatty. The Vietnamese egg rolls were probably the best thing we ordered as they were large and full of filling. They were crispy and not greasy. I couldn't tell if they were made there or purchased premade. Overall, I don't think we'll be back as this wasn't a cheap meal and wasn't anything special. There are better spots around to spend our money at.

    Plenty of seating.

Came here for a quick pho fix, and it was the perfect lunch! We were seated promptly, the service was fast, and our food came out quickly. Small restaurant but plenty of seating. The pork egg rolls were crispy and tasty--reminded me of my Grandma's! The pho broth was hot and flavorful, and the noodles had the perfect soft yet chewy texture. There's only one size bowl for pho, so little ones may need to share, but it's filling for a big kid, teen, or adult. If you have a bigger appetite, you can order extra noodles and meat. One minor downside was that the dishes could have been washed/dried a bit better, but I've found this common in a lot of small, authentic Vietnamese/pho restaurants. Pricing was commensurate for the amount of food and location. There are so many pho options in the area, but if nearby, I wouldn't mind coming again.

We drove by this place randomly expecting the Thai place we used to frequent but I guess that place is now replaced by this Vietnamese Restaurant. We went in to try it out. It was a weekday night, it was a slow night with I think 2 parties dining in. I got the fried chicken with tomato rice and my boyfriend got grilled pork chop. Our food didn't take long to get to us and it also honestly didn't take long to eat. The ambience was quiet, I wish they had music to drown the silence. I think next time we will order to-go. Overall not bad, and price is as expected of Fremont nowadays. Will come back for a good to-go option for us.

The pho soup here always hit the spot after a tough work week. Rich and flavorful broth with perfectly cooked noodles. The portions are big so I always asked for an extra empty small bowl to share with my kid.

We went on a Sunday afternoon and place was not too busy. There were available seats for indoor dining. We ordered soup and pad thai. Both dishes were tasty and delicious. Their soup was more tasty than the other Vietnamese restaurants. The pad Thai was ok. Price was also reasonable, around $15-$16 per bowl. They just had 1 size for the bowl of soup. Atmosphere was casual. Plenty of available parking. We will go back again to have pho. The man at the counter was very polite.

Ambience was like every other pho place but the food is consistent and doesn't disappoint. Despite how it was not busy, it worked in our favor because the service was fast without any hiccups. Our food was delivered in less than 10 minutes. The vegetables were fresh while their custom sauce for the rice and chicken was extremely savory. Chicken was also huge which was a plus. The grilled shrimp and chicken had a nice char. Water came out immediately and when asked for a refill it came fast as well without needing to wait long. Personally, I think the prices were extremely reasonable for Bay Area food.

Got seated right away as we walked in and the place was spacious! There were plenty of seats and the service was pretty fast. I got chicken with grilled shrimp and it was a solid 8/10! Though it was a little oily, I still enjoyed it. This place is solid if you want something quick and enjoyable.

I enjoy coming here when I'm sick or it's raining outside and ordering their pho. The broth has always been consistent and I really enjoy the large portion size. Whenever I come here you get seated immediately and food comes out quite fast. Ambiance is like any other family restaurant, it was quite serene, and they were playing some viet-pop bangers too.

    Cockroach in the food

Cockroach in the food Cockroach in the food, when showed owner of the restaurant he was reluctant to charge and when I insisted to pay and asked for the receipt . He refused to give it to us and said I have to take care of business and if you want you can stay here forever but I am not going to give receipt. He was trying to protect his business and doesn't care to the customers health. Resturant owner have to be careful with the hygiene and please caution if you plan to visit this place.

The owners are always very kind and remember us and it has a very comfortable atmosphere that makes it very family friendly. One thing I'm a little sad about is that they removed tendon and tripe from the #15 Pho dac biet but it's still just as good. In recent years they added Banh Mi to their menu as well as a buy 3 get one free deal which I always take advantage of. Their Banh Mi are so good, especially the pork and I never fail to get one.

The Sour Bì Was the Last Straw…read more I've had both good and bad experiences with Pho Newark Com Tam Thanh over time, and for a while I considered it a decent, average place to grab Vietnamese food in the area. I also tend to give restaurants multiple chances before leaving a negative review because I understand that every place can have an off day. Unfortunately, I've now seen enough of a pattern that I'm done. Today I ordered the Combination Cơm Tấm and was utterly disappointed by the drop in quality. The bì (shredded pork skin) smelled sour and was completely mushy, despite the meal having just been purchased. It genuinely seemed spoiled, and I couldn't bring myself to eat it. The pork chop was bland and overly fatty, the fish sauce was nothing special, and the bánh mì was extremely disappointing as well. This wasn't an isolated issue either. On another visit, I found a hair in my food. And on some evenings, a staff member would clean the floors with such a strong bleach-smelling cleaner while customers were still eating that the chemical smell completely took over the dining area. Trying to enjoy a meal while your nose is full of cleanser is not exactly appetizing. I don't write a bad review because of one mediocre dish. I give places multiple tries because I want to be fair. But when the unpleasant experiences keep repeating, eventually it stops feeling like bad luck and starts looking like a quality-control problem. The sour-smelling, mushy bì today was the final straw. I can forgive average food. I'm not gambling with spoiled pork skin. Nope, nope. I'm done.

We have been here before, but last time I got so caught up enjoying the food that I forgot to leave a review, so I made sure to snap some pictures and write about it this time. Since the menu is simple and straightforward, service is quick and efficient. Even though it was not overly busy during our weekday dinner, I can see how it might fill up fast on weekends, but their fast turnaround means you never have to wait long. Here is what we ordered: #1 Chicken Pho (with bone and egg noodles): Definitely the winner for depth of flavor. The bone-in chicken makes the broth taste fantastic, rich, and deeply flavorful. #5 Boneless Chicken Noodles (with egg noodles): A great option if you do not want to deal with bones, though the bone-in version is still slightly more flavorful. On a server's enthusiastic recommendation, who told us, "Good choice, it is my favorite too," we added a fried sunny-side-up egg to the soup. It was a fun addition, though optional. Fresh Accompaniments: Both items came with a generous shared plate of fresh bean sprouts, Thai basil, jalapeños, and limes. Pro tip: throw the basil and bean sprouts in while the soup is piping hot for the best aroma and flavor. Mo Hanh (Green Onion Oil): Both soups also came with a side of Mo Hanh, which is chopped green onion with oil and a pinch of salt. It was amazing to have with the chicken, and I really loved that combination of flavors. Practical Details: Parking: Located in a plaza with ample parking. Being a weekday, we scored a spot right in front. Seating: Plenty of tables inside, though it can get busy during peak hours. Overall, Pho Ga 88 is a fantastic spot for a cozy meal, especially on a chilly day. We will definitely be back!

Um ... are you guys kidding?…read more 3 stars for me. Pretty much only one choice: free range chicken, which is pretty good, about on par with pho Kim Long (which is Michelin recommended and our long time favorite for pho); soup base pretty much bland, which is the main difference with Kim Long, and literally they don't have onion and other vegetables like typical pho places except bean spouts. Price a bit lower than typical pho places too, chicken a bit less than Kim Long, and dont order their chicken gizzard or whatever soup, like I said, only chicken.
