This Pho restaurant is a decent spot if you're craving soup. The soup was good, but was a little light for my taste. Their egg rolls and spring rolls were fantastic. I might've just caught the broth on an off day, but it was a bit on the lighter side. My fiancé loves pho and is particular about a spots broth. She really likes this place and said the broth was a richer in beef flavor earlier in the week. Service was fast and friendly. Food came out even faster. Soup was hot and satisfied my cravings. Tried this place for the first time on Christmas Eve. We ordered over the phone for pick up. There was another review on here about them messing up phone orders and it's correct. My husband got home from picking it up while it was pouring rain to open up the food and mine is pork with white rice and some lettuce. It was not only a very sad looking plate but also the wrong plate. He felt bad and being we don't live too far called them to get the correct order. After a few minutes of the woman on the phone figuring out which order it was, she said that the other woman on the phone thought it was number 38 and not 28. Luckily they said to come back down and they'll make the correct order. Like I said, I'm glad we live close otherwise it wouldn't have been worth it to drive in the pouring rain in the dark on Christmas Eve. When he got back the second time, it was correct. Unfortunately, by that time, his plate along with the Vietnamese egg rolls were no longer hot. We ordered A-3 (Vietnamese fried egg rolls), 28 (beef over vermicelli), and 31 (combination vermicelli). It was around $50. This was not worth the money. There were hardly any pickled veggies in either vermicelli plates which stinks because I love pickled veggies. The beef in mine was pretty fatty and wasn't cut up at all so it was difficult to eat. I don't like fatty or gristly meats so I had to pick it apart to eat it and remove the nasty pieces. There was a little bit of lettuce but it was under the noodles and meat. I wish they put it with the veggies so it wouldn't get soggy. The shrimp cake in the combination plate was greasy and smelled more fishy than other shrimp cakes we've had. The meat on the plate was also pretty fatty. The Vietnamese egg rolls were probably the best thing we ordered as they were large and full of filling. They were crispy and not greasy. I couldn't tell if they were made there or purchased premade. Overall, I don't think we'll be back as this wasn't a cheap meal and wasn't anything special. There are better spots around to spend our money at. read more

The space is pretty big and can accommodate big groups. I ordered the Hu Tieu and it was ok. Looooots of noodles and not a lot of meat. The pork egg rolls were crispy and tasty--reminded me of my Grandma's! The pho broth was hot and flavorful, and the noodles had the perfect soft yet chewy texture. There's only one size bowl for pho, so little ones may need to share, but it's filling for a big kid, teen, or adult. If you have a bigger appetite, you can order extra noodles and meat. One minor downside was that the dishes could have been washed/dried a bit better, but I've found this common in a lot of small, authentic Vietnamese/pho restaurants. We drove by this place randomly expecting the Thai place we used to frequent but I guess that place is now replaced by this Vietnamese Restaurant. We went in to try it out. It was a weekday night, it was a slow night with I think 2 parties dining in. I got the fried chicken with tomato rice and my boyfriend got grilled pork chop. One of my town's busier pho joints as it is dead smack in the middle of the commercial area of town, our town's sad version of a downtown (laughing but crying inside). Very bright in there, lots of white smooth tile and big glass front windows. Good amount of seating as well like maybe 60 or so seats. I like the fam who runs it for the most part. I'm not a reg so haven't gotten to know anyone, but I've seen some regulars that seem to know the drill. I also don't see a lot of Vietnamese as customers here, and I kinda do at the places I do frequent more. I did love how when I came once during the late lunch hours and there was a resident cute little girl (maybe 6ish years old) who had her own table in the corner with toys, crafts and maybe homework. IYKYK LOL. But upon seating she also gave me my glass of ice water, and she was doing that with other tables that were walking in, without anyone telling her what to do. She simply would observe on who the new tables were and she'd bring out waters one by one. I've seen frig'n 20 year olds that don't have enough sense to do what that little girl was doing. I was blown away. Spring Rolls ($8ish/4*) Solid spring rolls, wrapped tight with fresh ingredients. Scant slice of roast pork, lots of bean sprouts, lettuce for color and plump shrimps. Wished there were some herbs in there as that really makes it pop like mint or basil, but was fine when dipped into that sweet peanut sauce that I douse with chili sambal. Pho with steak and tendons ($15ish/4*) Nothing wrong with their version, everything was protocol. Beefy broth with an aromatic spice kiss. Only some tables have fish sauce but I give places a nod if they do. Beef Stew Noodle Soup ($15ish/3.5*) I thought this was just ok. Broth actually decent albeit a bit greasy, good flavor though. Egg noodles were really thin, I guess I like it a tad bit thicker for more of chewy bite. And the cubes of beef were a bit too lean for me. I like the chuck cut for stew or brisket, this seemed like round or leg meat to me, not as unctuous. Not sure if this will make my rotation as the ones I go to, I have good chemistry with. But rounding up to a solid 4* just for that little self sufficient tiny girl. read more

The good: The egg rolls are twice the size as all the other egg rolls you get in the area and taste great. Other restaurants charge the same amount for half of what you get at Pho Lan and the taste and crunchiness are not sacrificed for the quantity. The grilled pork chop with rice was also good, we get this or the chicken for our kids and if it's not good they won't eat it. They easily ate all of it and seemed to want more even though they both had round bellies My wife said her bun bo hue was ok, she is a huge fan of pho mamas version and likes it even more than some of the OG famous bun bo hue places in Socal. The egg rolls were wonderful. But all the grilled pork were saltier. Normally sweeter taste is preferred. It's okay as the fresh salads evened the taste. Nonetheless, the restaurant looks old and uninspiring. It also had that smell of cleaning detergent when you walked into the restaurant. Maybe we didn't order their signature dishes, such as Pho. The place was relatively calm and half-filled when I entered. I found a table and looked over the menu. Originally I had planned to get a bowl of Pho, but I decided at the last moment to try a Rice Plate (Beef Cubes Over Tomato Rice ). While waiting, I got to see how spacious it was. We were in need of lunch fairly earlier in the day, so we decided to grab a bun. We've seen this place on Yelp a few times when we do searches and since we were going to be nearby, we decided to try it out. It's actually on the side that's facing Fremont Blvd right next to Curry Pizza House. There's plenty of parking that's shared by the other restaurants here. We easily found a spot in front of the place. M E N U Fairly standard Vietnamese fair, but we focused on the bun aka vermicelli bowl. We decided on #31 which was the House Special which included the grilled pork, shrimp, and shrimp cake. We were a little surprised by paying almost $18 for a bun, but it's definitely sizeable portions with a good amount of meat although wish there was more than just two shrimp. The shrimp cake was interesting and pretty good. I think it's the same shrimp cake that usually goes around the sugar cane in another Vietnamese dish. The grilled pork had a good lemongrass taste though some pieces were nicely grilled while others just lightly grilled.
