The restaurant is really nice. Staff was very friendly and attentive. The menu is quite extensive. I had the duck over rice and the duck was perfectly cooked, flavorful, and not super fatty. The dish was the perfect amount of food. The price was also amazing-about $9. My friend had the soup/pho with duck and loved it. It had just as much duck as my entree, which was quite a bit. It was about $8. All of the prices were great. Most of the pho prices are $7-$8. We are already planning to go back. Highly recommend! read more

I was excited to try a local restaurant with a four star rating. However, in the words of Chef Ramsey, "this food is blaaaand!" It was so bland that I ran to the bathroom to take a covid test, surely, it was me and not the restaurant. Unfortunately, the negative test result quickly revealed the horrible dinner decision I made. As I lay here on the couch lacking the motivation to go get second dinner, all I can think about is the longer I'm in Texas the more I realize how I can't trust the collective taste buds of Texans. Finally!! Found a great asian restaurant that I can become a regular at. This is it folks. Now, don't ruin it for me by overrunning the place. It's already getting crowded enough. This opened just a couple months ago. It took me a while to finally go and boy am I glad that I did. There are a number of lunch entries and I'm trying my hand at most of them. They have Vietnamese food and it is SPOT ONNNN. They also have ubiquitous "chinese" food to help those of us who are ethnically challenged. All are good. I really like their bbq pork. The general tso's is good. Haven't had a bad soup yet. Love their egg rolls. I need to take better notes! Basically, the service is wickedly fast and efficient. They really go for customer service. so... Pho NB fairly new in New Braunfels at the time of my review I must say that the hype was real when the sign first went up everyone I know was talking about it and how they couldn't wait. Well guess what it was worth that wait this place is freaking delicious, We sampled a wide variety of items off of the menu during our visit including but not limited to General Joe's Chicken, sweet and sour chicken Mongolian beef, lemon chicken, bami sandwich, Bun Bo Nuong, Egg rolls and hot and sour soup. It was all delicious and at a very reasonable price. if I were going to make a critique at all it would be that I wasn't impressed by their fried rice, I wish I had the steamed instead. the fried rice wasn't bad but it was just okay. As long as they keep up standards I imagine this place being mostly busy most days. ironically though the one thing we didn't try was the Pho. maybe next time. my favorite dish during our visit was the lemon chicken I recommend trying that some hot and sour soup and one of their bami's Why 4 stars and not 5: the rice just wasn't up to par for my Personal Taste *Poor *Decent *Good *great *Best *JLFoodie Certified Food. 3 Stars for not many pho spots in the area otherwise not so happy. Service at a minimum, skimpy on napkins, jalapeños/lime. Pho dac biet has two pieces of tendon. Broth was weak, all msg no beef. Noodles ok. Rice plate could be a bit larger and we're in Texas too. Nuoc cham was skimpy again. Price good, ok for this area. Beef on side should be awesome, it's Texas again but it was par at best. read more

So happy to have Vietnamese food within 20 minutes. The Banh mi sandwich was super tasty. The pork was seasoned and cooked perfectly. We also had the mixed beef pho which was great but not the best. Service was fast and friendly. Can't wait to return and try other dishes! read more

I'm impartial to PHO NB. For starters it took 10 minutes for me to get a water because my waitress was sitting down across the restaurant eating lunch-which is totally fine if you're attentive though.. My spring rolls were delicious and came out quick and fresh. The pho ga though however was made with cheap undesirable meat so I avoided the meat. The broth however was absolutely phenomenal. Craving Chinese food, my husband and I decided to give Pho NB a chance. The young man who waited on us was helpful and gave us some terrific recommendations. The food came out quickly, and the waitstaff was very attentive. My husband's pho was flavorful and spicy with the added herbs provided with the dish. My chicken dish was full of tender chicken and vegetables in a light brown, creamy (not heavily thickened with flour or cornstarch) sauce. My waitress, Vin, was super sweet and had excellent customer service. She's the one who makes the broth for the pho. Vin told me the broth cooks for about 8 hours. The pho is delicious! One of the best I've had since moving to Texas. I'm from California where there's so many amazing pho restaurants. I've eaten here many times before, but usually take out. I've had egg drop soup, egg rolls, crab puffs and general Joe's chicken. They were all good. But today I order the P13. - Mi Vit Pha Lau (duck pho), and it was the best pho I've had in a long time. This review will be in 3 parts. I don't want to be negative and bring them down I'm just informing the restaurant and anyone that wants to grab a bite. 1. Business hours haven't been posted online ( I checked Facebook and Yelp). Luckily someone posted a picture of the food with a menu in the background. I decided to call to ask but later found out their phone were down which I didn't think it was that big a deal since they did just open but business hours are a pretty big deal. 2. The Banh Mi was okay. If you've never had it before it's a good starter because it introduces you all the ingredients together to make this incredible sandwich. However I've tried some that blown my socks off and this wasn't it. It's just your regular Banh Mi. 3. The menu is overwhelming. If my calculations are correct I counted about 126 items on the menu not including drinks and desserts. I think I will stop again to try other things but for now my rating will stay the same. I hope this restaurant can manage NB because as of right now everyone here just wants tacos, wings and fast food. read more

I have mixed feelings about this restaurant. My family came on a Sunday evening. One waitress was busy eating food as she was waitressing she could of been washing her hands in between. I find putting your hands to your mouth then serving food is a bit unsanitary. The other waitress takes your order while her hands are to her hips. It comes off a little strong to each one of her customers with her standing there with her hands to her hips. I ordered a few things on the menu. I ordered a wonton noodle soup to share with my son. Well in one of the wonton was metal pieces. Looks like pieces of steel wool. The only way we found out was because it stabbed me in the gum. After this I didn't want to eat any of the wontons at all. I continued to smash all the wontons to see if there were anymore with pieces of metal. The pieces of pork served on top of the soup was very flavorless. It seemed like it has been simmering in water all day. The soup was not bad and didn't lack any flavor but I was still turned off because the situation. My husband ordered the lemon grass beef with rice and he said it lacked lemon grass flavor. It was served with pickled cabbage, carrots and pieces of cucumber. We ordered the Chinese broccoli as a veggie dish. The Chinese broccoli didn't seem like it was freshly cook rather than freshly warmed up. We ordered 2 sandwiches. 1 beef and 1 pork. The beef was not a bad choice but lacked a bit of seasoning. The pork was ok also lacked seasoning. All in all this place was OK. Stars 1 star for facilities 1/2 for service 1/2 star for food --for over all experience. -- for restrooms didn't visit. read more
