What I love: Regardless of the time it is always packed with customers and mostly Asian ones who know where to find the most authentic food. Incredible value regardless of what you order. You do not leave hungry here! I try not to GASP, but you should see the LARGE bowls of Pho. HUGE! Ingredients and condiments are always sparking fresh and the flavors are not "Americanized". Service is stellar, accommodating and welcoming. Even when it is full they will find you a seat. Shimmery and sparkly CLEAN from parking lot to dining area to bathrooms. If you're an american and not vietnamese, I recommend this place for you. Its got your traditional pho soups that is not considered daring. Vietnamese people will still come here, like me, but mainly because its 1.6 miles away from my home. You can not go wrong with any of the choices on the menu. One of my favorite Vietnamese restaurants. They are always crowded. The other day we got the last seats at lunch. I would probably say in looking around that most people over the pho, but I get either one of their stir fry flat noodle dishes or sometimes one of their fried rice dishes. I have become partial to the N6 which is Basil Chicken Flat Noodles. I ask them to add medium spice. Just got the beef and egg roll noodle plate to go. I went to my car and took a bite of the egg roll and found 3 black pieces of plastic in my first bite. I went back inside to show them and they did not bat an eye. They did not apologize but just suggested that I get a soup instead. I got my refund AFTER I had to ask for it. read more

I love this place. My wife and I were turned onto Pho a couple years ago and we have been to all the Pho Que Huong's in town, as well as a variety of other Pho spots. I'm not Asian, but I feel I have had enough to have established a taste of good and bad Pho and this is tops on my list. I've read the other reviews and disagree on some of the comments about the quality. I feel like this is the most consistent and best around. The broth is made fresh and from bones- like it;s supposed to be. It's always hot and served quickly. Price? It's the same as any other Pho Que...which is certainly comperable to all the Pho places I've been. $6-7 for a large, what more do you want?! A coupon? Please!! As for the service- the owner/family knows us, we could walk in and not say a word and they'd know our order start to finish. She and her mom have taken the time to recognize us and remember us- that's not a care-less attitude in my book. I like that. I eat lots of Asian food regularly get treated like it's a burden to wait on us (try 1st Chinese BBQ!!)- that's kind of the culture I guess, but I don't get that vibe here...also, I'm here for the food- not the hug, thanks though. Ordered S10, spicy beef pho noodles. I do warn that the smell is a bit unappetizing but the taste is different and really good. It is not that spicy and it helps contribute to the overall flavor of the broth. One thing I wish is that there were a little more noodles but overall I enjoyed the food. Price is comparable $10. She was surprised to see that there were two cups of eating waiting on the table that we were being sat at. I had to explain to her that this isn't a place where you come and hang out. You come in, eat and go! The price for a bowl of pho here is pretty decent. For a regular bowl of pho dac biet, it's 6.95 and the large is 7.95. The broth is pretty flavorful and they don't skimp on the meat and noodles. They give you plenty of bean sprouts and basil as well. I like to eat fresh jalapeños with my pho and when I ask for extra they always bring out a lot and not give an attitude about it. There is plenty of tables in two seating areas. There's also a few big communal tables that they'll sit you in if you're alone or it they're busy. This place definitely holds a lot of sentimental value for me. It's been on the block for over ten years, and is one of the go-to spots for our church congregation for lunch on Sunday. For its value, the pho really is tasty and the portion sizes are great, and sometimes on weekends they'll give you hot soy milk on the house. Love the spring rolls, especially the peanut dipping sauce. I almost always get a large P15, the steak pho with no extra meat-related frills, no cilantro, yes onions. They're always gracious when I ask for extra bean sprouts. Lunch service is excellent and quick, especially on weekdays. This place has been here for at least 15 years and I'm guessing because I've come here ever since I was growing up. Whenever I was sick, my mom would take me to this Pho after a visit to the doctor and it would always warm me up and make me feel better. You can stick to the pho but the vermicelli and rice dishes are just as good. Portion sizes have always been large and they haven't upped their prices like other Vietnamese places have. I've tried their spring rolls which are good and have yet to try any of the drinks or the banh min. Or maybe I just don't remember the deliciousness of the banh min from my younger days. I admit, the tables and chairs are not immaculate or up to date, but it has a hole-in-the-wall feel and taste. I come here like what 3 times every week. Cant go wrong with their pho. Aside from that, flat noodles N6 or N7 are beyond delicious. Their banh mi is also my boyfriend's favorite. 3 years later, still good. I never have a bad experience: it's always delicious, quick, simple, and friendly to my wallet. It really is like a place you might get in Vietnam: you go in, you eat, and you leave. You don't order what's good (cause everything's good), you order what you want or what you need. Got a sore throat? Try their beef broth pho or the chicken broth noodles. Want some grilled meat and rice or vermicelli? Then their huge plates of chicken/shrimp/pork/tofu will suit your tastes. The best part is you get a pretty large portion for around $10 for each plate. The chicken is a lemongrass seasoned chicken that is absolutely delicious (although a bit dry at times if not eaten right away), and the grilled pork is my absolute favorite of all time here. If you don't want to indulge in the full $10 portion, they also make great a Banh Mi that is an excellent lunch on the go. For $6 or so you get a nice, crusty baguette and the meat of your choice covered in pickled daikon/carrots, cilantro, sauce, and jalapenos stuffed into it. It's a pretty good size too. Their appetizers are delicious too. I absolutely love their egg rolls, but the spring rolls and meatballs are also equally delicious. Their desserts and drinks are pretty good too. I only come here because there seems to be a lack of pho places in West/Central Plano.. so while I do think it's 3-star material, I don't have much to compare it to. I always get their eggrolls.. delicious and comes with the best dipping sauce ever! As for my entree, I either get the brisket&flank pho or the grilled pork chops. They get kind of green onion happy and I'm not the biggest fan of green onion so I end up fishing for green onion in my pho.. but other than that, the beef tastes fresh and their actual soup isn't too fatty. The woman on the other end was extremely difficult to communicate with and when I asked a question about spring rolls I had no idea what she answered me. I reluctantly ordered what I thought were fried spring rolls. I asked for chicken spring rolls. What I got was fresh SUMMER rolls with grilled chicken in them. Not what I was asking for. And I also got 2 egg rolls which were small and looked like spring rolls and I think had pork in them, I couldn't tell. The food was so-so, there were bean sprouts in the fresh rolls, which was a strong flavor, and the peanut sauce was very runny. The woman never asked my name, seemed eager to get off the phone and gave me no indication how long it would take to make the food. When I went to pick up the food, I was asked the name, I said I want asked for my name. The woman proceeded to read off food orders that were in her computer. I did not recognize any of them. I finally tried to convey my order, she said she found it. Communication is key when ordering over the phone, and I found it was impossible to communicate what I was trying to order, since my order was not what I thought I had ordered. Maybe ordering in person, with a menu in hand, would be more accurate. But sometimes you don't have time for that. :( read more

I know this is a chain pho restaurant and I'm probably offended many Vietnamese people by proclaiming my love for Pho Que Huong, but I love this place! It is really close to work and they offer superior service and we always get in and out. The food is consistently tastey and hits the spot when we are craving pho. A few of my co-workers favorites include: The Curry Chicken Pho, The Spicy Beef Pho, and the Vermicelli bowl. A typical lunch break goes something like this. We call ahead to place our order. They reserve a table for us and have it set waiting for us. Sometimes, if we time it just right, they bring the pho out right as we arrive. We'll typically share a grilled pork banh mi or some spring rolls. Each of us will get our own bowl of pipping hot pho and leave with our stomachs full and a huge smile on our face. (If you are in a time crunch, I would seriously recommend calling ahead. You feel like a VIP when they have the table and food ready upon your arrival). Makes it a little hard to communicate with your waiter but good food brings people together. I'm the token black girl here, with red hair lol and I'm here with a big strong Ukrainian man. Lol perfect pair. We ordered two appetizers. One similar to an egg roll and the other spring rolls with pork. I also ordered the chicken and shrimp bowl with rice noodles and basil chicken. Everything we ordered was exceptional. Chicken and shrimp from both plates were moist. The pork in rolls was off the chain. I could really order those and be happy. The chicken basil, close to pad Thai, also was aaaamazing. Our waiter had the cutest since of humor. And she also aggressively told us what to order. Nothing wrong with that. Another thing I like about this place is that comfortable at home feeling. We sat at a table with other people. They instantly greeted us when we sat down. Now as the area has become more diverse and there are dozens of Pho places, this place is kind of average. Not that there is anything wrong with it, but there isn't enough variety or authentic/new things in the menu. It's a great intro to Vietnamese cuisine, but nothing to interesting to go out of your way to get when there are dozen of similar options probably closer to your home. So if you are in the area and want a solid bowl head over here, it's a institution that's been there for ages. Their waitresses are always in a hurry, they never explain anything. I understand their English is limited but I'm Asian myself and I know how Asian restaurants can be but they don't even make the effort to try. And honestly, their English isn't that bad. This is my first time trying Pho. And it's delicious! The staff at the restaurant is wonderful. The food came out quickly. Everything tasted really fresh and wonderful! I tried the 3 appetizer sampler. The meatballs had just a hint of sweetness. The shrimp spring roll was very good with lettuce adding a crunch to go with the shrimp. And the egg roll was very good as well. I have no idea which sauce (peanut sauce and some sort of rice vinegar sauce) was meant for which appetizer. But that made it kind of a fun culinary adventure. For the Pho I ordered the P1. It was huge! I have 2 meals worth of leftovers. It is fun doctoring it to my own taste with the sprouts, lime, and cilantro. I really enjoyed my meal. Pho Que Huong is one of my to go places back in college. Going to UTD, this place was always great when I was trying to find a quick meal between classes. The portions are always huge though, so bringing in a container full of food to a huge lecture hall was never a good thing, especially when there was fish sauce involved, but hey, I did not want to waste perfectly good food. The menu here is pretty extensive. I love the vermicelli dishes, and the pho is not too bad. The broken rice dishes were also pretty good. Definitely try the meatballs though. They are amazing. The waiters are friendly, too. They will give you free drinks sometimes. They gave me free soy milk last time I went. They also have some booths as well as standard tables and chairs. Well, my co-worker F and I decided to try something different for lunch today. We ended up at Pho Que Huong right in the middle of a tsunami that hit Plano today. F ordered Vietnamese Egg Rolls for appetizers. They were good. Pretty much standard egg rolls, but filled with mostly meat, pork & shrimp and very little of the cabbage and veggies normally found in an egg roll. F ordered Pad Thai for her meal. I tasted it. It had good flavor although the wide noodles had an interesting texture. I also missed the flavor and crunch of the crushed peanuts they put on the Pad Thai at Pei Wei (so sue me). I looked on their website so I could tell you exactly what I ordered but apparently the in-house menu and the online menu do not match. I'm scared some non-seafood eater might call and ask for S14 which is listed as Hue Style Beef Noodle on their website, but end up with what I had ordered... which was a Spicy Red Curry Noodle bowl with jalapenos, crab & shrimp. My Noodle Bowl was delicious, but will also go down as the messiest meal I have ever eaten. I think I have no less than 20 red splatters from the red curry broth all over my shirt. The table was also flooded when I attempted to pour my leftovers into a to go container. I had a Thai Iced Tea with my meal. It wasn't as good as the one I had at Thai Soon, but I still enjoyed it and it calmed my bubble tea / smoothie / weird drink cravings... at least for a couple of hours. read more

Big fan of Pho - You name it, I've tried it. I saw that some of the reviews harp on the service and I suppose for a newcomer that might be true. It's your classic "not much english spoken here" kind of place. But as a regular I can tell you that the folks that work here are kind and always make sure to ask how my boys are doing. The Pho here is good - and more importantly consistently so. This Phó is my favorite out of all of them. They are consistent Every Single Time! Our "go to" is an order of A2 2-shrimp spring rolls and P15 regular. All of the veggies - onions, cilantro, basil, bean sprouts, lime wedges and fresh jalapeños are included with the soup. The shrimp comes with peanut sauce. My husband loves the Pho soup at this place, so we have been eating here weekly. Our usual order is the special combination Pho and Thai tea. This is a typical Pho restaurant, so if you expect to see quality furniture or service, you're out of luck. I'm used to this type of small Asian restaurant, so I got no problem with anything.
