* Under new management * I have been visiting Pho Apple for almost 15 years. Unfortunately, they have new management. The interior looks much fresher, and clean, but sadly the menu does not reflect this. The meat portions are significantly smaller, and the pricing went up 10%. That in my opinion is a huge jump. The recipes have majorly changed as well. The food is just mediocre now. With that said, if you are used to the older menu, expect changes and more $$ for less food, and lower quality. read more

I've already reviewed Pho Apple once, but we recently went back and they've just redone the inside. The place looks great, with plenty of seating, and the menu is still the same and delicious! I got the Bun Bo Hue XL. It came with beef and cha (ham). The broth was super spicy, which I liked, but it was missing that rich beef aroma and depth I usually expect from BBH. Not the best I've had, but not terrible either. The sides they gave (basil, bean sprouts, jalapeño, lime) were the same ones they use for pho, which felt a bit off for BBH. This is one for the best pho restaurants I've tasted in all of Dallas. The broth is aromatic and full of flavor with the perfect amount of fat. The spring rolls are delicious as well the peanut this the perfect consistency. All of their food looks amazing. The employees are very kind and hospitable. Very basic Vietnamese food. It's a pretty empty place but it's clean. Probably wouldn't return.

Absolutely delicious, I got the com thit nuong and it was simply delicious and filling. Pork was hot, rice was succulent and not too mushy nor dry. The cucumber was fresh and great service. Came with my friends today and we loved this little mom and pop pho spot! Everything we ordered was delicious! We had the edamame, gyoza, chicken spring rolls, beef pho, chicken pho, and taro smoothies. The pho was rich and flavorful, with tender meat and fresh herbs, and the appetizers tasted homemade and perfectly cooked. The taro smoothies were the perfect sweet finish. You can feel that they put a lot of care into their food and service. I went to this spot for the first time after work on Friday. I was battling a sinus infection so what little appetite I had was for Pho. I'm picky about where I dine in because if it's not just right in terms of ambience or cleanliness, I will leave. This place delivered on both accounts in all the right ways. Anyway, I decided to dine in and was pleasantly surprised. I was greeted upon entry and immediately, the very lovely Julie came to my table to introduce herself and to ask what I was looking for. I told her about the sinus infection and how I am a big fan of spicy pho. She recommended the beef pho and offered to bring extra condiments to add to the spice level. I couldn't make up my mind on what to drink so I just asked for a Sprite. Minutes later, she brought me a fresh lemon spritzer that immediately helped me to breathe. It was refreshing and delicious!!! She told me it was her special recipe and I was immediately impressed and even more grateful. We were off to a wonderful start. About 10 minutes later, the pho was brought out. At first glance, I could tell the broth was going to be flavorful. I dug in with my spoon, and it was even better than I expected. The noodles were the perfect size and consistency, and to my excitement, were NOT rice noodles, which I have never been a fan of in my pho. The beef was tender, and the spice level was perfect. I only added the extra condiments she brought out so that I could let the spices do what they do best in opening my sinuses. All in all, the food, cleanliness, ambience, and service were all phenomenal. Solid pho place in the suburbs of Dallas. We came on a weekday night and there was plenty of parking and seating available. There is a mix of both booths and tables to choose from. We ordered two types of spring rolls (beef and pork) and while they were both delicious, they were on the skinnier side compared to some other spring rolls I have had at other restaurants. I got the egg roll and beef vermicelli bowl it was very flavorful and well portioned. I did find it strange that they had a scallion mixture that was included as a topping on the bowl. While I didn't order any drinks, the iced water that was served tasted like dirt and was not very palatable. read more

I guess we have to drive to Richardson to get take out Bun Bo Hue. These Pho restaurants need to use authentic Vietnamese recipes for all of their dishes. I guess it's possible that they adjust their recipes thinking it will be more popular with American customers but there is no substitute for Vietnamese cuisine. The broth in their soups is a proper cooking process because they boil the GRASS FED BEEF bones for hours in a multi step process and make the most delicious BONE BROTH I have tried Pho for 30 years around Dallas.
