I live in the US, and although we have a plethora of Vietnamese Establishments within a 20-mile radius of where we reside, I was looking to see what else is out there. My Aunt and Uncle live in a condo at Pharmacy and Finch, so it's convenient and within walking distance when the weather is nice in the summer. My Mom and I had our eye on this place, but never had a chance to visit until a few weeks ago. The service is quick, attentive, and friendly and the food is excellent. The atmosphere is modern and upscale and the servers are intentional; they take the time to address any questions about the dish you are ordering and require you to inform them of any food allergies, which is extremely important to someone like me (I am allergic to mushrooms and eggplants, sadly). Binnie has taken care of us the past several visits and we enjoy her cheerful and conversational nature. The true standout dishes here are the following. 10/10 would order again! We were at the mall that tried to find a place to have dinner. Pho was a good choice when you don't know what to eat. They have a set of cute children's culinary. As regular, I always try the special Beef Rice noodle soup large size and my husband have the grilled pork and chicken with rice. The special Beef noodle soup was not salty that I like it so much, and all Beef parts inside. As usual, it's good with the spicy sauce. The grilled pork and chicken dish was having good portion of chicken and the taste was good with the special sweet fish sauce. And there was a cube of egg with meat on the side. We came here today for brunch at Pho Quinn Scarborough as last time my friend said curry vermicelli is good. So, we got the curry beef brisket noodle and shared the salt and pepper fish pieces (椒鹽魚塊). The curry vermicelli soup was rich and tasted okay, and there was more beef than i expected. But some beef was tough and some was tender--kind of inconsistent. Plus, the beef wasn't marinated, so that was a bit disappointing. The fried fish in the hot pot tasted good and had nice wok hei (鑊氣), the unique charred, smoky flavor and aroma that food gets when cooked quickly at very high heat in a hot wok, especially in Cantonese cuisine. But I don't expect super good fish quality--it was decent for $35 for two (excluding tips). I also saw they have special deals from 5 to 8 pm, like a free spring roll if you spend over $25 or discounts on some snacks. Overall, it's kind of a mix of Vietnamese and other Asian flavors, so I wouldn't recommend it if you want authentic Vietnamese food. read more

Went here for my friend's birthday dinner as she was craving something hot. Venue: This place is a decent size, plenty of seats with a few booths. It has an opening from the outside and inside the plaza mall. Food: I didn't get to take many pics because they ate right away but she ordered the house special, grilled chicken and rice for my other friend and I got the Bun Rieu for me. We also got the fresh rolls (I don't recommend, not enough meat inside). I think the price point was good, around 11-14 for soup which is quite decent considering the prices are nearing $20 these days. Service: Our server was very attentive and quick. She knew each item name and exactly what we wanted. In the end she didn't give us the correct change and had so many problems trying to give us back to right change. It all worked out in the end. Nice pho place in Scarborough. If I remember correctly, this spot used to be a Phoenix Restaurant in Bridlewood Mall. We ordered a Bún Riêu (Vietnamese crab, pork & tomato noodle soup). It wasn't bad. Both the soup and noodles were tasty. However, the crab/ pork was only average compared to other pho places. It crumbled quite easily before even eating it. So, the good stuff simply fell into the soup. Could be better. Sugarcane minced shrimp and spring rolls were both great! They grilled the minced shrimp instead of deep frying it, which gave a very good charcoal flavor to this dish. I like this more than the spring rolls but both were good. Recommended. Friendly server, reasonable price, and good variety on the menu. Good Pho place to go! read more

We were out and about, family decided they wanted viet food so came back here. Didn't realize I'd already been to this location 2 years ago but I will say most things have stayed the same. Service was good - nothing exciting but also nothing bad. Food: Pho - their house special pho is quite good and for a decent price given all the inflation going on. The broth is simple but hits the spot. Noodles cooked well, assortment of meats is good. Would definitely get it again 4.5/5. Their grilled beef with sausages and spring roll on vermicelli is also not bad. A bit skimpy on the grilled meat but overall still decent portion. Good flavor. The spring rolls is thinner than other places but still good stuffing inside. 4/5. The mango salad remains a HUGE disappointment. Tiny and few pieces of mango on a giant bed of shredded lettuce. It looks deceiving as the single layer of mangos are arranged on top of a mountain of lettuce. There's probably 4 shrimp in total that's been sliced in half. 1/5. They offer online ordering for pickup and delivery service which they provide. Pho Quinn offers consistent, great-tasting food. They are open Monday to Sunday from 10:30AM to 7PM. Pho Quinn came highly recommended so I visited the restaurant early one weekend and ordered 4 different dishes. * Pho Nam Sach - Beef Brisket and Tripe Rice Noodle Soup (LARGE SIZE) - Large size only provides you with more broth and more noodles but not more meat. See note below. * Bun Rieu Vermicelli Soup with crab, shrimp, tofu, tomato and sliced pork sausage - taste was okay, crab prominent which was nice, but also very, very salty * Toi Xao Rau Cai* - Stir Fried Mixed Vegetables with Garlic - taste was good* * Cha Gio x 2 - 2 orders of 2 Spring Rolls stuffed with shrimp, pork, mixed veggies and taro (not pictured) - taste was good 3 out of 4 ain't bad. The pho broth is flavourful and not greasy; the type that you can have a lot of and keeping drinking after the noodles are gone. I'd recommend they cook their noodles a little less since they will continue expanding in the soup, but I'm also a lover of pasta al dante so may not be the typical palette. There was a decent portion of protein in their raw beef, brisket, and tendon pho ($10 for a small) with massive chunks of tendon that were chewy and tender. Being my first experience with the bún riêu vermicelli soup ($11.50), I'm torn on whether it's something I'd order again. Maybe if I'm in the mood for a richer bowl of noodles, given its broth is saltier with the shrimp paste flavours shining through. The tofu puffs are a great edition as it helps soak in the soup and their chewiness goes nicely with the tender Vietnamese meatballs - finely minced pork paste that is squeezed into clumps, which break apart easily with each bite. Aside from that, there's one shrimp (for the entire bowl of noodles) and pieces of tomato that must have been added raw as it cools down the soup. Aside from the not-hot-enough temperature, I would have liked the soup to be spicy as well; luckily, there's chili sauce at the table. Lastly, the bún riêu arrives with lai fun noodles, which are silkier than the pho's rice noodles and goes nicely with the stronger both. We skipped the spring rolls and tried the deep-fried shrimp bean curd ($7.50) instead. This restaurant really gained popularity since it opened a couple of years ago. Although it's popularity improved, it's service and food quality has really gone down. I ordered the chicken pho which gave the option of chicken or beef broth which was weird since its specifically chicken pho (pho Ga) but sure. I wrote down "chicken" on the order form to state which broth I wanted. Now I want to note that I personally think my writing looks fine and it's definitely good enough to be legible to anyone. The waitress then brings me a bowl of what looks like plain soup, pieces of chicken and noodles. Then she said I didn't want onion. I stated I never said that and I wrote "chicken" on the order form. I took off a star for the fact that she brought my order form back and literally tried to tell me how "chicken" reads out as "no onion" . She then waved me off when n she realized she was wrong and brought me a small plate of green onion. Next star off happened when my dad ordered vermicelli noodles with beef. I always double check that I write the correct order number. My mom and I were almost done our meal and his bowl still didn't come. We asked the waitress who again, looked confused. She then brought out pho (beef noodle soup), which was incorrect. Others looked annoyed with their orders too and another table stated their order was wrong as well. They then finally brought out the vermicelli noodles that we actually ordered. The food itself was bland. The chicken pho was flavourless and I had to add a lot of hoisin sauce and sriracha for it to taste decent. Half of my dad's beef vermicelli was just bean sprouts. We were shopping at the Bridlewood Mall and decided to get a meal somewhere. Since my wife and I love Vietnamese food, we decided to try out this place. We were immediately seated in a nice booth and provided with a kettle of hot clear tea along with two tiny cups. We could not help but notice that the restaurant did not seem air conditioned like the rest of the mall. We ordered a Grilled Pork Chop & Grilled Chicken with Rice and a Grilled Chicken with Rice. The food was properly cooked and flavourful and there was even a very nice house hot sauce to compliment the food. The food was a little dry so we would have appreciated some lemon slices like most Vietnamese restaurants that we have gone to provide. I was made to feel like I did something wrong when I asked our server for some ordinary water. She behaved as though I was asking for something out of the ordinary. Her curt tone of voice and behaviour somewhat ruined our moods. To be fair, she did come back a little while later with two glasses of lukewarm tap water. Looking for food to eat in my neighbourhood. So we decided to give this place a try while doing some groceries. Inside was newly somewhat newly renovated. It's very well lit. However it felt a bit stuffy. Service was just alright. We started to look thru the menu after we sat down. We decided to go with special pho, curry beef pad thai and the sausage rice roll wrap. The wrap came out first and then the other dishes followed along. Bottom line: felt like the food was a hit or miss. Some creative idea with the curry beef pad thai but it tasted meh? Somehow the curry and the pad thai sauce didn't go well. The special pho could be a much hotter. Like piping hot. The star of the night is the sausage rice roll wrap. It has fresh herbs, the warmth of the sausage meat was great. There were lots of crunch and layers of textures. Overall is more like a 2.5 star? Only saving grace was the rice roll wrap. This restaurant is a top contender to my top 3 favourite Pho place. First time trying Pho Quinn since I had a Pho craving and wanted something new. This is located inside the Bridlewood Mall. It has an external and internal entrance, which is convenient. To start, the vibe is great. They played a calming instrumental music in the background. What I like is that they have a lot of booth seating which makes it more comfortable. For the food, we had Cha Gio/Spring Rolls, Pho Dac Biet and Bun Rieu. The spring rolls was very crispy and size big compared to other places. The Pho Dac Biet had 2 sizes, small and large. Got the large and I was not disappointed. They are extremely generous sincr there's a lot of vermicelli and meat. Other places gives 2 meatballs, this one is like a ball pit (not really, there was about 5 or so). The Bun Rieu was not too authentic taste (according to my Vietnamese company) but there's lots of toppings. Moving on to the service, we came on a Tuesday night and it was about 40% busy. I was in the area and craved for noodle soup, so I decided to give it a try. I have never been to their Markham location so I don't know what to expect. Good - newly renovated and replaced the hand pull Lanzhou noodles house. It is fairly clean and with lots of tables for 4. Service is pretty prompt. Average / not so good - we ordered pretty basic beef pho, My Tho (seafood clear noodles) and Bun Rieu (crab meat noodles). Pho is the best among the 3 dishes. But I find the broth was lack of flavours and noodle portion was small. If you need to order large if you loves noodles. Bun Rieu - I could smell and taste a lot of dry shrimp paste. Other than saltiness, I couldn't taste much other flavours like tomato. The tomato and fried tofu were not fully cooked and didn't blend in the broth at all. Noodles texture was okay. My Tho - again the broth was lack of the fresh clean seafood taste. The protein portion was not many and didn't come with the shrimp cracker that most other places served. After all, we all felt thirsty and MSG after taste. If you are not good with MSG, I would stay away. I really wanted to like this place but need to pass. read more

My boyfriend and I got to try this place after winning a giveaway on Instagram! We got a free meal for 2, which was worth $25 but ended up ordering more food and paid the difference. Overall, the staff were very friendly throughout the whole experience. The place is connected to Bridlewood Mall, so we were able to check out the stores there before we got hungry. I felt safe dining in here because the utensils came in a hot cup of water so that everything was clean and sanitized. We ordered: Fresh Rolls - Shrimp & Pork (2 rolls for $6.50) [shrimp, pork, vegetables & vermicelli rolled in rice paper wrap] The only complaint I had about this roll was that the rice paper was a little dry/hard. I believe these rolls must have been premade. The dipping sauce helped soften it up. Curry Beef with Vermicelli ($13.00) The spiciness and flavour of the curry was great. This dish also comes with potatoes. It was pretty hilarious when we thought we got a huge piece of beef and it was actually a huge potato when we bit into it. Grilled Pork, Spring Rolls & Minced Shrimps on Sugar Cane with Vermicelli ($13.50) My favourite part of this was the minced shrimp on sugar cane. I wish there were more pieces of grilled pork in this dish. The ratio of noodles to pork was a little off. I had so much leftover noodles that I was able to pack it home. The staff were really kind and even gave me a new fish sauce to bring home for the takeout. Jackfruit Milkshake ($5.50) I always get an avocado milkshake but I decided to mix it up and get a jackfruit milkshake instead. It was delicious and arguably one of the best parts of my meal. This branch is fairly empty and there were a lot of tables you can choose to sit at. Staff was friendly and efficient. The food is averagely priced - not expensive but not cheap either - but the food is served quickly and fresh. A few details I want to nitpick at though; the rice paper for the rolls was a bit tougher than I'm used to and the baked egg wasn't to my taste. I'm not in love with the texture of the egg feeling like meat (and it also had vermicelli in it) but that's a personal opinion. The broth of the pho was very flavourful, a bit on the salty side, but delicious nonetheless. The grilled pork chop and grilled chicken was tender and juicy. Given their success in Markham, Pho Quinn has expanded their reach to the Scarborough locale with their take on pho and Vietnamese cuisine. I came to Pho Quinn last week with my family and it was quite packed in the palce, given their grand opening month. We all ordered our own individual bowls of pho. For a large bowl, the portion was reasonable for its size. However, the ratio between the beef and noodles was mismatched. The broth was satisfying, it had the right amount of spices and aromatics to compliment the rice noodles. In addition, we ordered a plate of the Spring Rolls. The spring rolls were deep fried to a good crisp with a good balance between the filling and wrapper. I prefer a more crunchier layer for my personal preference, however the spring rolls still had a nice texture. Overall, Pho Quinn is a great local new spot for Pho in the area, especially in the Bridletown area. I was pleasantly surprised at how jam packed both of the dishes were and portions are defintely super generous! It was my first time trying the pork sausage and it was SOOOOO good. It has the right balance between salty, sweet and garlicky taste and reminded me of the Taiwanese sausage! The spring rolls were crispy and super fresh. Located in Bridlewood Mall, this restaurant is a good addition and fills that missing cuisine in the mall. I'm glad they opened and helped spread the food diversity. Just tried it last weekend. The place wasn't packed nor empty, and 2 of us were able to get a seat walking in without any wait. We've had our fair share of vietnamese dishes in the neighbourhood and I would say Pho Quinn is not bad, but not the best and wouldn't become my go-to. However, I would visit if I'm lazy, and dont even want to venture a few blocks down. For 2 people, we ordered the standard vietnamese dishes to compare and taste - Pho, Vermicelli, and Spring Rolls. The Chef's Special Beef Noodles (pho) included rare beef, brisket, tendon, tripe, and beef balls. My bowl of vermicelli included grilled pork, pork sausage, and spring rolls. I feel Pho Quinn does not fully balance their meat vs carb portion that well. The pho noodles are good but they didnt give much beef, especially compared to other vietnamese restaurants. On the other hand, the vermicelli bowl has abundant amount of meat but there's more bean sprouts and pork than the vermicelli noodles itself. It felt as if something is missing given it's a noodle bowl. The spring rolls were alright. Its average given the outer crust is a bit thick and harder to chew, and inside seems short on some ingredients. The taste was still good. Nevertheless, they have good service and the food came pretty quickly. Its location is easily accessible even after mall closing hours as there is a separate entrance. This is the second location of Pho Quinn. It is Vietnamese restaurant with a large diverse menu. It is located within Bridlewood Mall, near the Metro. 10% discount until (and including) January 5, 2020. It just recently opened so the interior is clean and overall comfortable (maybe not so if it's a party of one or two and you're seated at the small tables, i.e., not the banquettes). Service was fine. Complementary tea is given. Ordered: 1. Large rare beef, brisket and tendon pho: - The broth was hot and somewhat aromatic. The broth could be more concentrated in flavour. - The amount of noodles, beef, brisket and tendon was acceptable. - During my first few bites of noodles, I found the noodles to be a bit tough, as if they were not cooked enough. Of course, these were the noodles on the top (after mixing), but it is hard to have everything submerged in the soup. - The large should be enough for one (the small would be enough for those with a smaller appetite) 2. Pork and chicken rice: - The protein is marinated quite well. I could taste the dominant flavour of lemongrass. Also, the protein is cooked well, not much char. - However, the rice they use is really small (smaller than short grain). I didn't enjoy the texture or the taste of it (I believe plain white rice does have taste). 3. Shrimp and pork ("not so") fresh roll: Not a fan. The translucent wrapper was slightly hard and chewy. - Something in the filling tasted fishy. The roll was likely old. - The accompanying watery peanut sauce didn't have much flavour. Decided to stop by this new place with my S/O. We didn't know that they close at 10:00pm. We arrived there around 9:50pm. We were about to leave until one of the families that dined in told us that they took a customer a few mins before us. I went in and they seated us right away. We ordered the vermicelli dish, chicken dish with rice and a side of vietnamese spring rolls. The food did not disappoint. It was flavourful, piping hot and the spring rolls is crispy.  The utensils were clean and the service was friendly, prompt and fast. They gave us a 10% discount (until end of 2019) due to their opening special. The servers did not rush us and we stayed there for 30 mins after they closed. If you're having a viet craving, you don't need to go to the mighty Finch & Midland plaza. This is located at Warden and Finch (Bridlewood Mall) They have two entrances; one from the mall and the other from the parking lot.  All in all, I think this is a 4.5/5. Although, I would like for it to be opened at a later time. Not sure about clientele though since it's a residential neighbourhood and everything else in the plaza is closed. read more

I've tried Pho Quinn in Markham and was excited to hear they opened a closer location to me. I went during their grand opening weekend so there was 10% off the bill. Our party ordered the house pho noodles, lemon grass pork chop noodles, the vermicelli with grilled pork and sausage and an order to spring rolls. All the dishes were very flavourful and delicious! I particularly enjoyed the grilled sausage and the spring rolls. The sausage was bursting with flavour and the spring rolls were crunchy and delicious. I had the Spicy Hue Style Noodle Soup (Bún bò Hu) and it was so delicious. I liked that the broth had a little spicy kick and the noodles were cooked al dente so it had a bite to it. My dad who is quite picky with his Pho had the Chef's Special Beef Pho and he really liked the broth and the beef. We both finished our entire bowls! A very handy little pho restaurant if you're in the mall. A lot of times I just come here for the iced Vietnamese coffee. I have a system for my pho, I order the B06 Rare Beef, Brisket, Beef Tendon and Tripe Pho - with extra tripe and tendon - costs me 6$ more but makes me happy. I also ask for a couple of peppers and scissors to cut them with. and my Vietnamese coffee with extra hot water - so I can fill up my iced glass. sometimes i have 2 coffees one before and one for dessert. since I'm well prepared I get served quite promptly. Stopped by at this restaurant on a Friday evening around 6-7 PM after having heard great reviews from friends about their Markham location. We were greeted and seated promptly. The atmosphere was spacious and clean. With the on-going pandemic, it was extremely relieving to see that the utensils were served soaked in a cup of boiling hot water. This was a practice that I did not see a lot of other restaurants participating in. It was also important to note that the tables were completely wiped down, the seats, as well as the washroom area (sinks and toilets). These observations gave me the impression that the restaurant was well-kept and orderly in their response to the on-going pandemic. The waitress was extremely friendly and served us promptly. We ordered the C09 (Bun Rieu Vermicelli Soup) and D02 (Grilled pork, spring rolls, & pork sausage with vermicelli)--photos are attached below. The C09 was served piping hot, with lots of crab meat pieces as well as ground pork. The boldness of the shrimp paste went along well with the natural essence of the tomato, creating a soup that was absorbed with flavour, yet wasn't too salty. This bowl of hearty soup noodle will certainly be calling you back if you're looking for something that is satisfying and tasty. The D02 was served in a colourful assortment with all of its toppings. They were grilled/fried to the perfect level of crispiness and sat on a bed of vermicelli. The vermicelli paired well with the abundance of flavour that comes with the sausage and grilled pork. Typically, I would need to ask for more fish sauce with a dish like this, but the waitress took the initiative to bring us more after having noticed we were almost out. This was an appreciated gesture as I've experienced interrupted meals many times before due to the lack of service at other restaurants. I will certainly be returning again! Fried spring rolls are as crispy & delicious as it gets. The portions are good. Lots of meat in the noodle soups - more than most places. The beef brisket is very tender & delicious.
