As the other reviews say, don't be turned off by the location/the outside. The inside is really cute, well decorated, and the food is incredible. Our waitress was attentive, and super friendly. For our group of three we got; pho, green curry (note, our waitress told us it comes out medium and it was HOT!), spring rolls, crab ragoons... and then once we realized it was closed Sunday, we got Bahn Mi sandwiches, boba tea, and Thai tea to go. It is bursting with flavor: lots of kaffir lime and lemongrass notes. Great mix of textures as well from the crispy rice, coconut bits, peanuts, and lettuce. A must try! Pulling up to this place is a little strange as its in a little dingy strip along with a liquor store so its a little weird at first, however, when you get inside its a completely different feel. Good flavor in the broth and the plate of sprouts and jalapeño slices was a nice addition to kick it up a bit. Pho Real Flop. Decided to try it today after all the recommends that have been made here. I most likely won't go back. Unfriendly employees - no greeting as you came in - and no "Thank you" as you received your to go order, requested lite ice in my drink - cup had more ice in it than drink, requested that my Larb Seen be made Mild - was made very spicy, requested no jalapeños for my Pho - you can guess what was there. The one sprig of basil for the Pho was moldy. And they were not busy, so I'm unimpressed. Hopefully it was just an off night, but throwing away $16 of the food prefer because the spices burned my mouth and throat makes me very unhappy. read more

Don't judge the book by the cover! This may not look like much, but the food...just amazing! I was surprised to find a server at our table, versus putting in an order at a counter. Six of us, but only one actually ordered pho! We got a variety of apps and main dishes, though. Great deal on the lunch special - $9 for a large serving and a salad! First, the apps - chicken wings, summer rolls, crab rangoon, and steam dumplings. The wings were sticky and the steam was rolling off them! Summer rolls were super fresh - everything was great. Main dishes - Larb Gai, Yakisoba with chicken, pad thai, pad see ew (wide noodles), pad woo sen (bean thread noodles), and the Pho 1 (rare sliced beef) - we're chatty people and the table was silent. In this little dilapidated strip mall, you'll find Pho Real. I will admit that based on the outside, I've avoided this place as from the outside it looks like a health code violation waiting to happen. I was invited here for work one day and could not refused so I decided it was time to risk it. As soon as you walk in, you lose the feeling that you need a bio-hazard suit as the place is clean and decorated well. I ordered the Pho (obviously) and it came out in decent time. BAM, instant fan. This Pho is AWESOME! I've been here 3 more times since that first time and had the Pho 2 out of those 3 times. On the 3rd trip I tried to swim further into the menu which proved a mistake. I ordered a stir fry dish which ended up terrible. So terrible in fact that if that was my first exposure to this place, I would never have come back. I give you this warning now! Came in for the first time for a small lunch because this place was near my job and I figured I would try it out. I ordered a Tom Yum soup but it was mediocre. I usually try Tom Yum at many places but this one was more of a sour taste but didn't meet basic standards. Onions were chopped massive, got 2 tiny pieces of shrimp, and I was iffy about finishing it because of how sour it was. The Crab Rangoons were not bad but there was little to no filling. While waiting for my food, one of the employees had their kid at work and I was worried about the servers bringing out food (could have been hot bowls of Pho or anything!) while the kid was running around the cashier and kitchen area. We had the pad Thai, the papaya salad, the crab rangoon. I have eaten at Thai restaurants all across the United States in my travels. I would say there's one clear distinction of this place that would drop me back. The food is fresh and not overly oily or overly season with soy sauce or hoisin so you end up tasting more of the actual vegetables and meat for me. This is to my liking I can add some of the hot pepper that is plentiful on the tables or some of the hoisin, or Sriracha that is brought to the table as well, we did not particularly care for the crab Rangoon. I am picky at this area. I have had really good crab Rangoon that contains a better ratio of crab to actual cream cheese. I also was impressed with the fact that while our initial service was slow... The waitress was very kind, and very gracious to acknowledge the mistake, and honestly, especially when it comes to small business. It will never be perfect, but what we are all looking for is someone to be gracious enough to acknowledge her mistake and to apologize. I felt her sense of empathy was amazing and this is some thing that I routinely train business on so to be fair it is not the best Vietnamese Thai food I've ever had however, it trends towards the fresh side, and the restaurant is gracious in how they handle their gas. Nam Khao is very good! It tastes just like how my aunties would make it. I have been traveling to Indy at least once a month for work and I had been on the lookout for a good Southeast Asian spot. You can even get it to go and mix it together when you get home (have to mix it fresh or the noodles will get soggy)! The menu forces me to stray away from some of the traditional offerings your typical Thai restaurant would offer with its diverse menu. Fried rice is delicious as well many of their other Thai dishes I have had from here including pad Thai and pad kaprow. We ordered several appetizers all delicious, although I like lots of sauce on my wings and could have used more sauce. Dumplings were also good, but fell apart very easily and made them difficult to eat. The larb seen was a great choice since I was looking for something fresh and "summery" for my entree. The bean sprouts, fresh onion and cilantro in the special sauce was delicious and I would order this again! Portions on fried rice is smaller than what we get at a couple of other local places, but also still good! Hit or Miss? I'd heard reviews of this place and after running errands stopped for a quick bite. We had the fried tofu appetizer which was quite good. Summer spring roll was ok - it would have benefitted from the addition of fresh herbs. DO NOT order the papaya salad - poorly prepared with less than fresh ingredients. We've travelled to SE Asia frequently and we so looking forward to trying the food here. Perhaps the Pho is worth another trip? This place is great! I have only ordered from them once, BUT it was great! In past experiences from restaurants Pho does not take home well- not the case here! Everything was fresh, spiced well and warm :) I got the vegetable Pho- 10/10. All vegetable ingredients were crunchy and the noodles were fresh.. to top it all off the broth was good on its own!
