I will say it - this is the best boba tea in the Des Moines area. I have been to Pho Real multiple times for boba tea and have never been disappointed. Flavorful, not too sweet, and the perfect proportions of boba to tea. My personal favorites include the Thai Milk Tea, Black Milk Tea, and the Winter Melon Milk Tea. Finally got a chance to visit Pho Real Kitchen and Bar! This place looks great and has bar seating, high tops,and regular seating. I personally like high tops so I was happy about that. The dining area is fairly small, so I'm sure during a busy day it can feel a little cramped and can be quite loud. The aesthetics of this place however, is so nice. Great tiles, color palette, lighting, and greenery. I ordered a Banh Mi sandwich. The sandwich was fantastic, the pork belly and ingredients tasted fresh and the meat was tender. I love porkbelly so this sandwich was already a real winner for me. Like any other Vietnamese location, they obviously have pho. My friend ordered the Pho Chicken and the portion size was huge with large slices of chicken. They definitely needed a to-go box but couldn't wait to have it again the next morning. They brought out the typical add-ons for pho but didn't bring any sauces, so if you order pho you may have request they bring out some sauces. When we left we both got boba tea to-go. I had the Blueberry Oolong Milk Tea with Lychee popping and my friend got the Mango Green Milk Tea. My drink tasted sweeter than I expected, which may be due to the blueberry syrup. I love sugar though so I had no problem with that. Servers/staff all wear masks and they're all incredibly friendly. My food and drink were decently priced and was like $12 before adding tip. I will definitely will be back to try more of their menu. If you're familiar with the area, you know that parking can be a pain. They have parking garages near by where you can use your card to pay. I would best compare the keto noodles to a wider, flatter enoki mushroom texture. The Crispy Chicken Wings with the honey siracha sauce is my go-to. I always have to order these for its salty crispy coating, which are smothered in a sweet and slightly spicy sauce. The atmosphere and employees are so welcoming! I recently came in for dinner with my husband, and we both really enjoyed ourselves. We ordered dumplings, crab rangoon, and beef pho. We had no complaints and absolutely thought the food was really good. They are quick to seat and serve you, and we're polite. They also made sure your drinks were always topped off. So so good! Perfect on a cold winter day. I ordered takeout and got a specialty pho. Not only was it a large amount of food but everything (rice noodles, broth, meat) was separated to make the reheat process easy! I really wanted to give this place my seal of approval but I found it just average. I was excited that there was a new Asian place downtown but unfortunately the food isn't anything special. I ordered the stir-fried chicken with ginger, onion and garlic. It was very disappointing. It was too salty and the onions were barely cooked so they were pretty raw and very strong. I had bad onion breath the rest of the night and the next day, too. On top of that, there was no ginger in the dish that I could taste. I would have sent the dish back but I was too hungry to wait for them to remake it. My husband said his pho was pretty average, too; and the broth was cloudy. If you want to try the best stir-fried ginger and onion, go to Eat Thai. Theirs is hands down the best. Adong's is also very good. And Vietnam Cafe makes the best pho in town. I did like the look of the place. It was very hip, modern-looking and cozy. I think the place used to be a bail bondsman's. I didn't even recognize the place. We just moved to Des Moines this weekend and this was our first meal and surely a good one. We are fond of Vietnamese food and have moved around a good amount and think out of the different cites, this restaurant was delicious! The Banhmi bread was awesome and made the sandwich. The pho has on point in flavor the only thing we needed to add more was broth as it was heavy on noodles which we didnt really mind.
