Went back for first time after the pandemic and order pho/ pork chop/ egg soda. This place is a hit or miss. One day is good and another not. Pho was okay. Pork chop was dry. Egg soda tasteless. Pho is hard to come by in the Rhode Island area. Most other cities they are a dime a dozen but a true pho restaurant that is new hasn't popped up. Pho Horn in Pawtucket is probably most of everyone's go to place given its proximity to Providence and how cheap it is. It was really exciting for me that Pho Saigon opened up in Cranston. Unlike most other Rhode Islanders, I am willing to make that journey (15 min really) to Cranston to get good food. I decided to try Pho Saigon. Like I expected, Pho Saigon is "almost" a lone building next to an Aldi's. There's a large parking lot with a sign that says they have live comedy on certain days. You walk inside to a modern yet characteristically Vietnamese decor'd room. Surprisingly empty, we sat down and looked at the menu. Lots of choices, again as you would expect from a Pho restaurant! They have a full bar and tons of great drinks. We ordered the "14" which included all the favorites with tripe and tendon. Adding meatballs is always a must. Their broth is sweeter with more cinnamon but delicious nonetheless. All other aspects were what you would expect from a pho dish. We also ordered the duck salad. That was surprisingly delicious. Wish they didn't have bones though! I would give this place a solid 4 stars. Not the best pho restaurant I have ever had but certainly great for the area and a great new addition to Rhode Island. My family has been telling me for years to come by this restaurant. And I finally gave it a try. I love the atmosphere of the first half of the restaurant, the way it looks with the lights and the right amount of t.v's in the area is entertaining and keeps my eyes locked to something atleast lol. It's a nice roomy/home feeling. Didn't even know they had an alcohol license ( they also serve scorpion bowls). Walked in and was greeted by the nice staff ( like a 2 person staff on a Wednesday). Sat at a 4 top in front of the huge t.v that they have in the first dining room. Went through the menu, and man, they got a large selection ! Sheesh. Got the pork chop along with veggies, meat patty, and shredded meat. Tasting - Pork chop was insane!!!! I was super surprised how good it was! That was the best part of the meal. I wasn't really a huge fan of that piece of like that meat brick they hand you lol ( literally a block of mixed meat) , the taste was a little weird. The shredded pork though was decent atleast and made up for it. But yeah, the pork chop flavoring and meal altogether was probably like an 8/10 for me. Amazing! I don't eat out often so I have been struggling to find a good Asian restaurant in Cranston (that uses tofu). I gave this place a shot because the owner is an acquaintance of mine and I wanted to support his restaurant during these hard times. My expectations were minimal and I was blown away! We had takeout and I ordered the vegan pho which was amazing! And the pineapple tofu which was also amazing! I was so pleasantly surprised by the tofu, I expected an overly sweet sauce, but the only sweetness it had seemed to come from the pineapple itself. My husband had the beef lo mein and he loved it as well! This is our new spot for Asian cuisine and I can't wait to try more off of their menu! read more

Worst customer service. A simple fix could have deescalated a situation but I wanted to get my family out of the establishment ASAP. I have two young kids, 4.5 years old and 19 months, we ordered it before from here and they loved it. We ordered the same dish this time but for some reason, my kids started complaining that it was spicy. We realized there were a few jalapeno pepper slices in it. My wife flagged down our waitress and told her of the situation. The waitress said ok, I'll talk to the chef about it. A few minutes later she comes back and says, "The chef said she accidentally added in the jalapenos. So sorry". Then she left. She just left. She just left! When she walked by again, I flagged her down and asked her is there anything you can do about it. She then went back to the kitchen with our dish. A few minutes later the owner's son comes to our table and says that if you want us to fix the dish we would have to charge you another dish. My wife just said, "No we are good. We are not paying for another dish!" I chimed in too and said, "Really? You're going to charge us again?". He just nodded. I said, "This is the last time we'll be back." The owner's son left and I now I was getting mad, where in this world you would ask your customer to pay another dish that they admitted that they accidentally added spice to a non-spicy dish???? I loudly called out for our check. The owner's son comes back and says, "Sorry, I spoke with the chef and we will take out the dish price or make you another one." I said, "Too late. We shouldn't be having this conversation now after you asked us to pay again! Just give us the check." Paid the bill and left. Worst customer service. Never. Going. Back. Went to the restaurant with my family today we've only been out to eat three times since the pandemic we are already sketchy going out . As soon as we got in we go to wash our hands there is no soap in the bathroom. My first thought is if the patrons can't wash their hands how are the employees washing their hands.. told the waitress two times she never resolved the issue finally I went to speak to the gentleman behind the counter . So we ordered our food they brought out 3/4 of the order but none of the sauces for the food.. so we waited and finally five minutes later our sauces came. The waitress never brought the other part of the meal out so I didn't get to eat. When she finally came back to the table and asked if everything was OK I told her I never received my food and I didn't want it now it was late we will take the bill. All she said was oh the other waitress never brought your food out.. and that was it no apologies what so ever .. I understand we are in tough times but it is in these times that we need to be doing our best work. So to say the least my one star is for the service I would rate the food at least three stars but I will never go back again no matter what.. read more

Ok so last I was here was 2 years ago because my last visit was terrible. A friends wanted to try it for themselves and asked me to come along. Figured 2 years they may have their together. Pho was OK before... This time it tasted flat, no depth at all. I never add sauce of any kind to my Pho as a good pho shouldn't need it. This did not taste fresh. Ordered the beef pho for take out and only got the broth, no meat or noodles LOL. I called them asking what they will do, and the guy who picked up said: "so what do you want to do?" ... I am so happy that there's a new pho restaurant, or restaurant with pho, in Cranston! I ordered the pho dac biet (combination pho) as I usually do when trying pho anywhere. The broth was great meaning I really didn't have to add much to it besides the complementary herbs and bean sprouts. However, I will say that the meat was not enjoyable for me. It was dry and hard to chew. The service was friendly and welcoming. Prices were reasonable. The portions were generous. The space was clean [unlike a fellow pho spot that is very popular but very dirty]. Vietnamese cuisine is one of the tastiest in the world! So, I would go back to try other dishes and perhaps other variations of pho. Restaurants and bars never survive in that location. I hope you guys do! Much success to you. P.S. The service and the food was horrible! My uncle ordered short ribs pho, and had to reorder it 3 times because the beef was ice cold. From my uncles words, he said, " I would rather eat instant noodles at home". The chef didn't take her customers seriously as she brought out the short ribs laughing from the fact that she had to recook the short ribs 3 times. A waitress was even caught picking her nose. As soon as we walked out the restaurant , my aunt went straight to the car and ate chips because they forgot about her order. My cousins 22$ pho broth was dark brown and very sweet. A lady has on a little white chef's hat. I sat at the bar and the waitress, one of all who spoke perfect English took my order. A bowl of pho and a noodle dish. I pointed to a picture on the menu. Crispy noodles with a beef stir fry on top. Waitresses seemed inexperienced. One brought her two kids and they were running around. One didn't dress for work. The manager was sitting at a table with an older couple. Obviously a family run, neighborhood restaurant. It filled up. More people sat at the bar. All Asian. Now all of this gives me good feelings because usually I love the food in places like this. Well... I started to have a bad feeling when the waitress brought out my little plate of sprouts for the pho and there were three or four wilted basil leaves on top. To start out, the pho was greasy. The broth was thick like ramen. Oh boy! The brisket in the soup was very tough and needed to cook a lot longer before slicing it. It seemed like everyone was ordering it. I heard someone complaining about the meatballs.... when I got my noodle dish, it was the wrong one. The waitress called it lo mein. I said my dish was over crispy noodles and I said I pointed to the photo in the menu. She handed the dish and asked the cook to take the stir fry out of the noodles and put it over crispy noodles. Ten minutes later, I got my dish. The beef was very chewy and everything was dry. I didn't enjoy it, nor have I enjoyed listening to my stomach the last twenty four hours.
