Pork bun plate with egg rolls N8. Bun Cha Gio Thit
Bonnie F.

This is our go to for Vietnamese food. We usually use Doordash but have been inside before. Tonight we ordered the Bun bowls with pork and egg rolls. It was the perfect filling meal for a summer night. Very good size portions and tasty. The small egg roll ( spring rolls) actually seemed bigger than I remember. We also got a spam spring roll ( not the fried tyoe). My husband loves Spam so he had to try it. It was good still had that light taste and had something crunchy inside. They have really good broth for their pho. I often just get a small cup of that. Sometimes to dip a barn mi into it

Yellow Curry Coconut Thai Soup with steamed rice and pork in zero spicy level

A while ago, I remember ordering a takeout food here and they were slammed. I was getting frustrated because no one was acknowledging me if I received my order. Last week, I was able to convince my husband for us to go and eat there. I'm glad we did and definitely way better service and food was delicious. When you go in, you'll see a sign that says to grab your menus and find anywhere to sit. I'm assuming that's only when they're not busy. Priscilla, based from the other reviews, the owner, greeted us and took our order. Very patient with my hubby as he's picky and takes awhile to decide. When my hubby asked about their spice level, Priscilla assured him that they will get his order right if the spice level wasn't up to his liking. Our food were delicious and big portions as well. I love my Yellow Curry Coconut Soup with Pork. I usually have a hard time finding Thai places that can give me Yellow Curry in a zero spice level. When I took the leftovers home, my daughter who is as picky as my husband ate and enjoyed my meal. The workers were great and it's neat to see how they all work together. Priscilla essentially was the host, waitress, and cashier. I can tell that she's loved by her patrons because their conversations. I was fascinated with her being multilingual - English, Spanish and not exactly sure which Asian language she speaks. Thank you and will definitely come back to try the other food. So much food to try!

Food was ready 10 mins after I called in an order. Had the original #1. The taste was authentic and my son was a huge fan of the raw beef. The soup base was also flavorful. Pricing was reasonable and I'm sure I'll stop by again before this vacation ends.

Sting rolls

I been here a few times. The pho is great. The broth is tasty and rich. The string rolls are average but they have Plenty of parking and is good place for big groups. They have a Big menu with lots of drink options. Come try out and check it out for your self.

This family restaurant has been operating for 20 years! It's a stand alone building with plenty of parking. Their menu ranges widely in Vietnamese, Chinese and Thai food. It's somewhere you want to go when you want a quick fix in Pho or Asian cuisine with affordable pricing. When you walk in, there's a sign that said "Grab a menu, seat yourself". We ordered pho, broken rice dish with bbq chicken/pork/shrimp, and spam spring rolls. The pho broth was too salty for our liking but squeezing lots of lime neutralized it. Came with lots of meat. Surprised to see broken rice dish on the menu in an area like this because most restaurants don't sell enough and end up wasting. But this place keeps it simple with only one choice. The bbq chicken and pork slices were thin and flavorful with 3 shrimps. I would have preferred more charred grill marks. Appreciate that the egg loaf was fresh and moist. I also loved how the veggies were sliced not whole. The spam spring rolls were not "American spam" but Vietnamese grilled pork paste. It was made fresh and it was bigger than my hand!

I always come here to get pho to-go when I'm sick or just craving it. It's my favorite pho restaurant in Escondido. The broth is full of flavor and the meat is always tender. Cashier's are always friendly and the decor in the restaurant is tasteful.

After a 1 week long cruise, my family and I wanted some good ol' soup somewhere. We couldn't stay too long in SD so we stopped in Escondido which is starting to get into SD county. Sadly.. Yelp led me astray this time. Aside from the attentive service, the pho broth was sweeter than I'd like and the beef from my dad's beef plate was too salty. On top of that, the rice was on the dry side. OC has spoiled me with amazing Viet food. Thankfully this looks like a popular Escondido spot so this 3 star review will just be sent to the abyss of highly rated Yelp reviews haha

Every time I order from this place, I forget to leave a review, but it is so good. It's so good. In fact the picture I'm gonna attach to this review. I forgot to take a photo because I scarfed it down so quickly. I love the to Tok Kha Soup it is so creamy and delicious and the broth is a dream. I get it with seafood as well as red meat. My husband got the pho with the rare steak. The broth on that is also delicious. The portions are awesome. I always have leftovers for the next day and having lived in multiple states, including Nevada, Arizona, and Tennessee and now California. This might be my favvvb PHO place.

re you actually getting me. This place is amazing. It was a happy chance of doing U-turn seeing that the lights were on in this restaurant. This has been nothing but hospitable and lovely and a wonderful experience. From the moment I walked in I got amazing recommendations of what to order. And though as I was sitting and waiting, I was served tea and spring rolls. There are absolutely no complaints and I'm so excited to eat what I actually ordered. The guest and the staff are also so patient and kind. I want to come here again and again.

Chicken pho
Salman S.

Pho Saigon Express is my go-to spot in Escondido for pho, and for good reason. I had the chicken pho, and it was delicious--comforting, well-seasoned, and served steaming hot. Personally, I wish it had just a touch more star anise to bring out that classic pho depth, but overall it really hits the spot every time. I also tried the chicken & shrimp bún and it was excellent. The grilled chicken was especially flavorful, almost like it had been cooked over a wood fire--smoky, tender, and packed with flavor. Paired with the freshness of the herbs and vermicelli, it was perfect. For drinks, the lemonade with club soda was refreshing and light--just right alongside the meal. The service is always quick and friendly, and the portions are generous for the price. Whether you're craving a bowl of pho on a cold day or a fresh noodle bowl, Pho Saigon Express is a reliable, tasty choice.

Orange chicken with fried rice is so good. Also the chicken pho. It's also easy to call for pick up order. I just ordered some calamari and cream cheese to go earlier today super good

I've ordered both to go and dine in here and ran into a few problems.. The 3 times I ordered to go or delivery, the soup completely melted through the paper bowl and soaked everything else that was in the bag completely ruining everything else that I ordered. I don't know why they're the only pho place that doesn't use the plastic containers but they should switch to it because the paper container just isn't cutting it. The few times I've dined here I got seated right away but then waited 15 minutes just to put an order for water and then another 15 minutes to order food. That's a pretty long wait considering there weren't many other people dining in - just 2 other tables and me, and there's usually not too many people dining in in the first place so the slow service makes no sense. Luckily the food is good and is a pretty standard pho. The environment is clean and quiet, it's just the service times that need to be worked on.

From the moment you walk in, you can tell this restaurant takes pride not only in the food but also in the atmosphere. The space is bright, clean, and well-organized, with a calm energy that makes dining here both relaxing and enjoyable. The menu offers an incredible variety--pho, rice dishes, noodles, sandwiches, boba drinks, and more--so it's easy to find something that suits your taste. Each dish feels thoughtfully prepared, with fresh ingredients and balanced flavors that stand out. A must-try appetizer is the shrimp spring rolls with peanut sauce. They arrive fresh and neatly wrapped, with crisp vegetables, perfectly cooked shrimp, and that creamy, nutty peanut sauce that ties everything together. Light yet satisfying, they're a great way to start your meal. Another standout is the pork sandwich (Bánh Mì), which feels like a labor of love. The baguette is toasted just right--crispy on the outside and soft on the inside--filled with tender, flavorful pork that's marinated to perfection. Add in the pickled carrots, cucumber, jalapeños, and sprigs of cilantro, and you get an amazing balance of savory, sweet, and tangy flavors. Each bite is a perfect mix of texture and taste, making it one of the best Bánh Mì sandwiches you'll find in North County. Don't miss the fried rice, a fragrant and well-seasoned dish that's both comforting and rich. The only minor drawback is that the protein--such as chicken, shrimp, or beef--comes separately. Still, the quality makes it worthwhile. For drinks, the boba teas are superb--smooth, not overly sweet, and made with fresh tapioca pearls that have just the right chew. While parking can sometimes be tricky, Chef's Pho & Grill more than makes up for it with its excellent food, friendly service, and welcoming atmosphere. The place smells decent, decently easy to find so no issues there. Cleanliness: the Buffett definitely needs some upgrading and cleaning. The sprinkles were covered in ice cream and all over the place. The machine was covered in dried ice cream and caked on. I did not go into the restrooms, so I am not sure Food: cold. Everything except for the hibachi I got was cold. Shrimp, pork, chicken, all cold. They have an okay variety of deserts but other than the coffee and orange ones they were pretty bad. The flavor of the food was good, but the temperature of it was what really grossed me out and worry about food poisoning. It was during dinner at around 4pm so crab legs were included. My daughter devoured them and so did I. Best part of the buffet. Customer service: the waiters were very nice and kept our table clear. As soon as they notice we had our empty plates they would come around and grab them. I did notice and maybe it was just for that moment but we did get different waiters just grabbing our plates. Maybe they are doing a system where everyone waits on every table. Whatever they were doing it worked! We did mention at the end that our food was cold after we had paid and all because we were asked how we liked it. She did apologize and told us we should have brought up sooner so they could warm it up. That since it was slow the food gets cold. It was nice she apologized and all, but working in the food industry myself it is not any of the customers job to remind you to keep an eye on food temps. And you're supposed to keep food hot. Regardless they were nice. Would I come back? No. Would I recommend it? No. $60 for two adults $9 for my 4 yr old and $5 for my two yr old. So basically $80 for a family of 4 for cold food. Flavor was good though. So if you want to try it maybe you're lucky and get hot foods
