I have been to this location many times now. It all started when I got sick a few ago and needed soup. I ordered delivery and was blown away by the Chicken Pho I got here. It helped me with the lime, basil, jalapeños, and other veggies they include. I ordered a large pho with Lo Mein noodles. The second time I picked up and got the rare steak pho for my roommate and myself the chicken pho. I was still sick. My roommate just got some deliciousness on me. She loved it as well. The 3rd time I brought a bunch of my coworkers since we had an in-person meeting. I got the rare steak pho, my coworkers had a sandwich, some chicken curry soup, and a range of different phos. They were all not disappointed. Every single time and I can tell you I've been here more times than I can count now and Priscilla is always such a gem. Ordered Chicken Pho and the Bun Bo Hue and both the chicken and beef were perfectly sliced--YES, PERFECTLY SLICED! I question if they were even REAL MEAT, because who can slice chicken breasts and beef in perfectly, thinly sliced, pieces? Obviously done by a machine. The beef slices were essentially bad--very well-done instead of rare. The color of the beef was an ugly, dark grey, not very appetizing and it didn't taste like real steak. Again, it looked like both the chicken and beef were cut from a chicken or beef "log" (i.e., a processed meat-product log). My son got the "grilled" shrimp over rice and the shrimp was STIR FRIED. When it was brought to the table, I told the waiter we ordered GRILLED shrimp, not stir fried, and he replied, "It is grilled..." (see photo if the shrimp looks grilled to you). The Fried Tofu was "okay"--the dipping sauce was a very sweet teriyaki--not really like the Fried Tofu that I had countless times in HCMC (Ho Chi Min City--formerly Saigon, which ironically is the restaurant's name). Omg!! I think I found the best bun Bo hue in town! I've had it at several local places and it just wasn't good but I wasn't going to give up! When I saw that they had it on the menu of course I had to order and I am soooo glad I did! It had everything bun Bo hue asks for!! You know it isn't bun Bo hue if there isn't any blood cubes in it. Once you walk in, they have a pile of menus on a table and half of the times I've been there you can seat yourself or they have someone walk up and seat you. It's a very casual place! Looking through the menu, they have quite a few different options. Anywhere from Vietnamese dishes, to Thai and Chinese dishes, they really have quite a large menu to choose from! I've ordered their regular pho size large, and I've also gotten a pho/tom kah fusion dish multiple times. It has been that good I had to go back and eat it over and over! The workers are very casual as well, which is no biggie in a place with that vibe. They always bring you what you need. It's usually pretty busy, and one time it was so busy they even ran out of basil! What!! First time in my life I ever ate pho without basil! But again, it's so good, even a fluke like that won't sway my five star review. Pho Saigon Express is one of our family's go-to Pho spots. They have a great menu and we've never had a bad experience here. It's not all soups; they have chicken, Boba, and spring/egg rolls. We've been here when it's busy and we've been here when it's slow and there is little difference to quality of food or service. On this trip my wife got her favorite, the Large P1 (Beef Combo). I went with the P21 (Beef Stew). My Son got chicken and my daughter shared with my wife as her favorite is also the P1. We also got an order of egg rolls and desert (Flan). Everything came out quick and hot, and everything was delicious. The restaurant has a lot of flare on the inside; from the mural on the far wall, hanging lights, a chandelier, a couple of large flower pots with huge bouquets of silk flowers, and some Buddhas for good fortune ... it's a really fun place to come. This is the only pho place in the area that was open after 9pm. There are a few accessible/disabled parking spots available but you end up having to go around other cars in the parking lot to get to the ramp then go up the sidewalk toward the entrance. After a beautiful wedding at Los Willows and a fun stay at Pala, I still needed something hot and soupy to bring me back to life, especially with the full impact of my head cold hitting (this was Halloween weekend). We decided on Pho Saigon Express because it was closest to us as we headed home, and open early on Saturday morning (9:00am). The menu is *really* extensive. Their dishes range from Chinese to Thai, to Vietnamese. We ordered the following: - Egg rolls (3 pieces), ~$6.99: Hot and fresh egg rolls. Kind of expensive for an order of three, and not the thickest eggrolls, nor the tastiest eggrolls. Just okay. - Combo beef noodle soup, ~$13.99: The broth was good, but lacked the depth that other restaurants have. The bowl and its contents was also less than we expected, especially for the price. - Bun bo hue soup, ~$14.99: Nothing special... Solid bowl of noodles, but kind of small for the price. - Iced Vietnamese coffees (2), ~$5.50: Good cups of coffee. They brought the already combined coffee and condensed milk to us, which was different. Overall impression of Pho Saigon Express: okay. All the food was just okay -- not the best, not the worst, but nothing to write home about. Like another reviewer had mentioned, the price is kind of steep for the quality (and quantity!) of food. The sweetness of this spot is so rare nowadays. We've been here many times and the experience is unmatched. Service is always top tier. Staff is always very hospitable and friendly no matter who helps you out. Thai tea from here is soooooo good. Flavor of the food is always consistent as well.
