It's been two year at least since I last visited this spot and upon entry; something was different - the interior styling and the lack of greeters. I'm accustom to the old management where nice Asian ladies smiled and greeted you upon entry. I was explaining what I used to order yet the cashier and cook were attempting to understand- as the old management cooked their dry noodles with hard with egg - but this time I literally got dry cooked noodles. The Pho was similar but the protein portions were skimpy. I would state the customer service was phenomenal and even offered a glass of water while my food was being prepared and kindly stocked me up with condiments so I may adequately spice my food to my liking. Pass by this place over the years and didn't realize that this is such a Pho-nomenal place for that! The fam gang ordered pho the 1st time and all of our bowls were out FAST! This pho place is my new go-to restaurant in the Burke/Fairfax area! Located in the Twinbrooke shopping center, a few shops away from Safeway, the location is perfect. My go-to order is pho ga (chicken noodle soup). Tbh, hasn't seen pho ga elsewhere as good as this place. I usually get #48 with #21. The eggs are honestly too good, though expensive. $6 for a few tiny eggs is a bit horrendous. Overall the broth is good, very flavorful. Pho bo (beef noodle soup) here is also decent. For a vietnamese restaurant, their service was nice and friendly. Came here for lunch on Sunday and they were busy. We heard a lot about their famous pho ga di bo (direct translation: 'walking chicken' vietnamese noodle soup) and wanted to try it but they were out by the time we got there. I think there's a miscommunication on when the chicken would arrived at the restaurant and the poor waiter kept coming back and forth to tell us. We will definitely be back to try it. We had cm tây cm thp cm (combination clay pot rice)and it was delicious. Love the touch of burned rice on the bottom of the clay pot. Tried the pho place once and it's so good! I wish it was closer to my house. I had the pho and it was very flavorful. I love pho that has a lot of noodles and does not cheap out on the toppings and this place did a wonderful job! Poor poor poor quality, too expensive!!!! And rude customer services!!! I ordered number P47. It came with a very little amount of noodles and only two young eggs, and a decent plate of chicken. The noodles were too little I felt like I just ordered a bowl of broth, not pho! It was way overpriced compared to other better pho restaurants in the area. During my time there, none of the staff came out to ask if I needed anything, until I came to the cashier to pay. They did not even give me a smile. They just did what was told to do. I happened to forget my cardigan there, before I walked out of the door, one staff handed me my cardigan and had an attitude towards me. I will not go back to this place again. This is probably the best bun bo hue I've had in Fairfax and outside my family's. There are multiple options which is something you don't often see. Flavor was rich and didn't make me cough in first slurp. They have additional sateé you can put in for extra spice as all pho places should have. They even give the fatty broth in a separate bowl without you even asking which is nice! You usually have to ask for this at other places, which you would have to pay extra for. I am always pretty reluctant with asian places in Burke, but I do believe this one is one I'd recommend. I haven't tried the Pho, but I have heard good things. I like to reward myself by eating here after my walks around Lake Braddock Lake a few minutes away. I was skeptical at first about eating at a new Vietnamese restaurant because every shop does things differently and I like to stick to whatever place I think is superior at the moment. This restaurant has become my new go-to with it's calm and hospitable atmosphere and very welcoming staff. This is on account of my 3rd visit. I ordered the summer rolls and the clay pot w/ chicken as pictured. The summer rolls tasted fresh and refreshing, and I'm glad I ate alone this once because it's hard to resist double dipping the peanut sauce. The pho dishes here are great. The broths are tasty and hit the spot, but I would like to shine some light on the less familiar clay pot dishes. It's basically rice under marinated toppings of your choice that is baked just enough so that the rice at the very bottom sticks together and becomes this thin and satisfying crunchy layer. The marinade is a mostly savory yet slightly sweet sauce that I really can't get enough of. It's just a really comforting dish to me. There are quail eggs in it with the choice of chicken though, and they are really great if you haven't had them before. If they're not your thing, you can always just request them being left out. I got an ice coffee on my way out and it was very strong like most Vietnamese iced coffee, but it wasn't overwhelming. I was debating between the iced coffee or the thai iced tea as a pick me up and I'm really glad I chose the iced coffee, it did the job well! I ordered their spicy soup with beef and crab cakes . The soup was not spicy at all . Bland and tasteless . I added lime juice , chili sauce , and plenty of fish sauce . New pho place recently opened in Burke. We were very excited about this because its close to home, we usually go out to Falls Church for pho. I have been here twice now and the pho both times was pretty good. Flavorful broth and they give you a lot of meat. However, both times we've been the service has been terrible. They are not friendly or attentive. For example, on our second visit our items came out in the following order: pho, pho toppings, utensils, then water. In addition, they never brought me my thai bubble tea. Also, because we were seating near the entrance, waiters were never coming up there for me to flag someone down. When I went to pay I told them I never got my drink. Turns out the waiter gave it to another table by mistake. So luckily for Pho Saigon that their food is good and I will probably continue to eat here; however, they should really work on their customer service. read more
