I asked for water she comes back and rushes us again to order. We asked to keep the menu in case we wanted to order more food and she just stood there staring at us. I wish I could give more stars for this particular location. It already has great reviews so that in itself says alot. But for starters, I have been looking for a good Vietnamese restaurant ever since I moved here 5 years ago and this one is the best so far. Its not commercialized which I like. I had their beef ball and round eye steak pho and shrimp salad rolls which were amazing and hit the spot. Their Vietnamese iced coffee is super fresh and they bring the drip coffee maker out to brew right in front of you. But the main reason I respect this place is the fact that I forgot my purse on the chair and stupidly didnt realize until 1 week later. I traced back my steps and realized it had to be here. I went to the restaurant and they had it! UNTOUCHED! Wallet and everything in it, and it was a name brand purse. So disappointed. Seen this place but always go to Les Givral's for pho (at least 2-3x a month). Les Givral's was accepting cash only so I finally decided to give Pho Saigon a chance being they're right there, didn't want to drive to go get cash as I'm sick. Get pho to take home. It's flavorless and COLD. Legit cold and add ins just look disgusting. Makes me wonder how long the broth has been sitting. A measly serving and pay $2 less at Givral's right across the street for more flavor and a hot meal. Don't waste your time, I'm so bummed as I've had a craving and am sick. read more

I go here about once a week, usually, as this is my favorite vietnamese place in Houston thus far (and I am a huge fan!) The Pho is cheap, the service is fast, and on a scale of 1-10 I rate their soups with a 9. My favorite things to order are the Pho Ga (Chicken Pho) and spring rolls. They earn extra points as well for high quality chicken and for providing a choice between white and dark meat. To-go orders are always ready in a few minutes for pick-up and I have never had to wait more than a few minutes for my food in the restaurant. I say check it out! read more

For the banh mi, you can customize your own, which I did - double chargrilled pork, kimchi, extra veg, all on a whole wheat baguette. For a large banh mi, this came out to $7, which is pricier than other banh mis you can find, but the size and quality of the sandwich definitely makes the increased price justified. I really enjoyed my banh mi - the veg especially was super fresh, and the pickled carrots had a nice subtle sweetness to them. The chargrilled pork had excellent flavor - my only complaint is that even though I ordered double meat, I still felt the ratio of meat to veg to bread was not enough. read more

been here multiple times. im vietnamese, so my mom used to make pho a ton, and i have quite the pickiness when it comes to eating pho outside of home. here....is alright. but when i say alright, its because its about as good as it gets around this area. the other restaurants just dont know how to do it well enough. price is pretty solid for a bowl, but lately it seems theyve been skimping out. now, i usually just get the bun bo hue, a pork based noodle soup, so i'd suggest trying that if you want to try something new! read more

Definitely the best Pho in town. Today's weather is in the 30s and the line was wrapped around outside. I thought twice about it for a moment but if people are willing to wait outside in their coats only to come inside and sit where you can find a seat it must be good. Horrible experience. First off, the place is dirty as soon as you walk in which isn't a very good sign. My husband went to the bathroom which was apparently gross. We still decided to give the place a try since it was so highly rated. The plate of bean sprouts and toppings came with a black hair. I told the lady, she said sorry, took the plate and came back with the exact same plate minus the hair. Immediately after this we received the bill. After reading the reviews on Pho Saigon, my mom and I decided to eat here for our trip to Houston this weekend and it was the best decision! Absolutely love the Pho. We both had the Pho dat biet. It had the perfect blend of noodles and meat, unlike a lot of restaurants that only give a few pieces of meat and you're stuck with a lot of broth and/or noodles. I also had the Thai tea which also tasted delicious. We came back before leaving returning home and had the com bi suon nuong & com thit nuong dishes. Once again, they didn't fail to please. The server's are even around to say is everything okay or are you doing good i asked the waitress for a water and she took forever to bring me my water . I've been here a few times and they are consistently the same. What I like most is they are never too busy during lunch to bring your food quickly. I only order pho so not sure about other items. Everything is freshly prepared, the taste is perfect, and it's always the same. I never add anything besides cilantro, maybe a little basil, and tons of bean sprouts. Today I opted for a small Pho Tai Nam. Next time, I will stick with my usual Pho Tai though. I didn't like that there was some fat on the meat, but that's by no means a bad reflection. I just prefer leaner cuts. $6.50 out the door for a small bowl is perfect for me...healthy enough and satisfied without being uncomfortable. The Vietnamese egg rolls are also a good choice from past times I have been and they aren't too bad on cost - $1.60 for one, I believe. Refills on water are timely though they could use a little more ice as it melts super fast. Special note: park upstairs. It's much easier than trying to scout a spot on the lower level. read more

Underwhelmed- that's the most succinct way to describe my experience trying the pho at Pho Saigon. I heard about Pho Saigon from an acquaintance who had heard only great things about their pho. After reading the scores of rave reviews on yelp, I was excited to try it out. I visited on a weekday evening and the restaurant had a small crowd but was not full. The interior is clean and neat, but not fancy. Our orders were taken within seconds of sitting down and the pho came out less than 5 minutes after ordering. Firstly, Pho Saigon really skimped on the bean sprouts, basil, and cilantro given to my friend and I. We requested another plate of vegetables and they told us it'd be an extra $1, which was a bit of a shock (other restaurants don't seem to charge for extra) but it wasn't that big of a deal. The pho itself was underwhelming. The broth was clear and smelled fantastic, but tasted salty and not nearly as rich as the broth at other restaurants. Its hard to put my finger on what was missing- it lacked a certain oomph. Mostly, there was no beefy richness in the broth and the broth wasn't seasoned well besides tasting salty. Both my friend and I didn't bother finishing our large bowls. For $6.15, it wasn't a huge loss but I'm disappointed, nevertheless. read more

It is not worth going. Car will get towed. I went and they towed my car as I ate in the restaurant. The dam manager said he can't do a thing and for me to me to get out because he did not want other customers to know. Terrible!!!! Worst day of my life and had to pay $225 to get my car out. Wanted to try this place because I haven't had much Vietnamese in Houston -- I was drawn in by their prices. We were a little confused when we first entered because there was a long line to the counter, but we soon learned that we were supposed to seat ourselves and wait to be served. We had to wait a little before we received our menus, but after we ordered, we received our appetizers extremely quickly, and the main dishes themselves also came out very fast. I was excited because I got to try a durian smoothie for the first time. The summer rolls were also extremely cheap, though they were skinnier than average. But they were still pretty good. I ordered the shrimp and spring roll vermicelli; the bowl was smaller than that of Les Givral's next door, and the shrimp were smaller, but the flavor was good and the shrimp were tender. I wish the spring roll had more variety in its filling. Both the fish sauce and the peanut sauce were pretty salty, but overall I enjoyed my meal. When we paid, I was surprised (but also didn't mind) that there was no way to tip, but there is a cute buddha statue at the entrance with coins laying around his feet, so my friend dropped some change off there. The lady who was working at the counter was extremely friendly and efficient. In all, I think I would go to Les Givral's for Vietnamese in Midtown, but the service here is what makes the experience great! read more

Pho Saigon is my favorite Vietnamese restaurant in town! They're priced really well and the portions are huge. No matter how hungry I come, I leave with leftovers.
