I wish I could give this place more stars because the flavor of the pho I got was good but unfortunately the service wasnt the best and when I found a hair in the broth, stuck to a noodle, I immediately had to knock them down. I was going to give even 2 stars but when I told the server about it - who seemed to be an owner or manager since they're pretty slim staffed - he just looked at me and asked if I wanted another one. I remarked that it definitely wasn't mine or my dates (we both have curly hair and the hair was bone straight) and the server seemed to catch an attitude about it as he just took it off my finger and walked away. No apologies or anything. I was tempted to just get up and walk out but my friend insisted to just make sure they took it off our bill so he would only pay for his meal. To top it off, just about no attention was paid to us even when it was clear that we were ready to get the bill and leave. If you don't mind chancing finding hair in your food and inattentive service, this will be a good spot for you. At least he took the dish off our bill in the end. read more

The past few times we've come back here, we were delightfully surprised. The Phos have gotten better, although the meat is still cooked and not rare, but the overall flavor was all there. The Special Fried Rice is spectacular. I don't think I've had a special fried rice quite this special... it had CHINESE SAUSAGE in it! If you've never had Chinese Sausage, I suggest you try it, especially if you are a pork lover. The shrimp (even though I couldn't have any) were gigantic, and fluffy looking, the beef, roast pork and chicken pieces were equally large and each bite had some form of meat in it. It's so good! Then, they expanded to a handwritten paper menu that I absolutely hope becomes permanent on their menu... they had Pad Thai-s, Stir Fry-s and a variety of CRISPY FRIED NOODLES! I was so excited about this dish because I've only been able to order it in bigger city Chinese restaurants that serve actual "Chinese" food... not that Americanized stuff. Anyway, I wasn't expecting too much out of it (since, let's be honest, this is Lynchburg) but I took that chance... and it was just what I remembered! I got the Beef Crispy Fried Noodles since it reminded me of home, and I was so happy with it. There was a good helping of vegetables on it too. I was a very happy lady. My husband got Tofu Pad Thai. And I know... a Vietnamese place serving Thai and Chinese food is obviously having an identity crisis.... But between Blue Orchid and Thai '99, this place makes it better! My girlfriend and I were leaving Lynchburg but we needed to have lunch. She had a craving for Thai. Out of the list on the internet, I chose this place because of the ratings. Mmm. The ratings let me down. The vegetarian summer rolls were the best part of the meal. I ordered some kind of vegetable sauté. Two items that were listed in the dish, they were out of. I noticed it was missing a third one once I started moving all the veggies around. I thought it was bland and did not eat my food. The dish did come with a side of rice; which is what I ate instead. Our server, " the owner" never came to check on us. He sat with an older man watching tv the whole time we dined in. When he finally came over, my girlfriend told him I did not like my food and that I thought it lacked flavor. He said there isn't anything I can do and the cooks had seasoned it right. Umm yeah that meant nothing to me. He walked to the kitchen and he proceeded to speak to some people in the back. When he came back he brought another gentleman out. I'm not sure of this because there was a huge language barrier between this new guy and my girlfriend and I. In the end he finally took my flavorless dish off of our ticket. The next morning, my girlfriend who thought her food was pretty "ok"... paid a pretty price for ok food by spending her day in and out of the bathroom. And not being able to hold anything down. Horrible way to end a less than subpar latelunch/ early dinner experience when this was the only thing you've had all day to eat. Smh read more

This place is bangin'! We're Pho and Vietnamese food fanatics. We consider ourselves connoisseurs (had to look that one up) of different varieties and offerings from the various cities we've visited in our travels. On almost every trip we try the local pho offering. We were blown away by Pho Saigon. The egg rolls were the best I've ever had, my boo would say her childhood ones were better but I'd argue she's biased. She ordered the special noodles and I had the beef rice plate. That stuff was delicious. The beef still haunts me so much I'm sitting here writing this review four days later thinking about it. Everything was fresh and darn tasty. We also had the taro boba and the lychee boba. Actually at first they brought two taro bobas. But then halfway through our meal they noticed they brought the wrong one, like three sips in mind you, and just replaced it on the spot. We didn't say anything. They were just so concerned they didn't get it right the first time. It was one of the best customer service moments I've ever had. Oh, and the boba was delectable. So naturally, we ate there again two nights later! We were almost embarrassed that we came back again, but for food this good we got over that real quick. And we were only in lynchburg for three nights in the first place. Needless to say this is a great restaurant. It's a true gem almost hidden away in lynchburg. I honestly felt like a king whilst I was eating here. I ordered a #24 house special bowl of pho, and it was an amazing experience. Along with the huuuge bowl of soup they bring out a heaping plate of bean sprouts, basil leaves, fresh jalapeños... The spring rolls were also bangin', but wow. I had better Vietnamese food but this one is the only one that serves decent Pho in Lynchburg, at least that i know of. My biggest issue with this resto is the noodles. Great place to get your Vietnamese cravings satiated. It's a decent bowl of pho with great cuts of meats and meatballs. The spring rolls are also a MUST if you come here. One thing I would point out is the boba. They need to work on their recipe and execution of the boba if they want to consistently charge $4 for it. Also, who charges $4 for a boba drink. Been going here for a long time (even when it was other Vietnamese restaurants) and love their pho and bun (vermicelli noodle bowl). I normally get the #10 (pho; cooked flank steak) or the #35 (beef noodle bowl) and they are both very good. Portion sizes are good as well, you won't leave hungry. Enjoy! read more

If you're looking for Vietnamese food in Lynchburg look no further! I enjoyed it so much I went for dinner one night and lunch the next day! I got pho chay (vegetarian pho in vegetable broth) granted the vegetable broth was a little bland but that's to be expected at times because it's not traditionally made that way but the vegetables were so fresh and very good! My friend got a steak and tendon pho which he said was out of this world! I've been to many different Asian food restaurants in town and this is by the far the best I've had as of yet. First, I was impressed by the decor and theme. It's much nicer on the inside than the impression the outside of that building/strip-mall may give. The staff is friendly, and the portions are very generous.
