I truly feel sorry for Viet restaurants that don't see me coming... I tend to go on week long Vietnamese food binges and will seriously eat it everyday. Well I decided to stray from my old reliable and give some of the other places a try and after much research picked Pho Saigon. WRONG CHOICE! Darn it... I ordered the spring rolls (2 for $2.95) and the BBQ pork over rice noodles ($7.25). The spring rolls were outstanding but not packed full of stuff which for the price they should have been. They tasted great but compared to other places over priced. Now for the pork................ where do I begin? It was a cross between overcooked bacon and beef jerkey...... I swear, no exaggeration here! I ordered before the luch hour and they were fully staffed and not busy... the only explanation for it I can think of is I got last night's re-cooked leftovers? I have never had such overcooked dry icky BBQ pork from a Vietnamese restaurant ever... Too bad because if I do go back it won't be to order the pork... in fact I think this just ended my craving altogether this round. Our stop every time we visit Rocklin. Their food is . Our favorite is the pho @ the grilled pork chop w/ rice. They have great customer service, service is always prompt & food is served pipping hot. They know us well & treat "mamma" as they call her like family. Highly recommended. read more

My man and I were craving Vietnamese food today and decided to try somewhere new. Thank you Yelpers for leading us to this little gem! We usually get the charbroiled fare, so I can't comment on the pho ...yet! First, I will say this place is pretty small, but extremely clean. The server greeted us and was very friendly, in fact both servers were. The food selection was awesome, we had a hard time deciding! We ordered two appetizers--the fried egg rolls and the fried shrimp rolls...both were out of this world fantastic! Our charbroiled dishes were Devine (they give you a lot of meat!) and the catfish clay pot was the best I've ever had! Everything had tons of flavor and was fresh. I think I jut found my new favorite place and can't wait to try the pho when the weather gets cooler! read more

Thank you Yelp and fellow Yelpers for leading me to this spot. A special shot out to the Yelp app for facilitating this find! I was at Homegoods again and the promise-in-laws were hungry! They didn't want fast food or American food in general so I suggested Sumo Sushi since it was in the same complex. To our dismay, the place was packed. So after two minutes of waiting I decided to utilize Yelp to get food in my belly!! I definitely didn't want to drive all the way to South Sac for good Asian food, so I made my decision based on the star rating. Four stars.. so this place MUST be good. And it was :) They had lots of Pho, Vermicelli Bowl, Rice Plates, and Vietnamese Sandwich options!! Everything we ordered was delicious! Definitely comparable to South Sac Restaurants. Now I know where to go when I'm shopping in the Roseville area. So happy with this find!! read more

Came here with my family after a trip to Bass Pro Shop, was hungry from all that walking. They had a pretty big menu and we came in around 3 so it was pretty quiet. The service was excellent and the food was great. I had a rice plate but my mother and uncle both had the Pho. They said it was delicious. There are too many things that I wanted to try but I'll have to save them for next time. The shrimp rolls were soo good!! The staff here were the right amount of attentive, while they didn't hover, they were always there when we had questions about the menu and the food came out very quickly. Noodle bowl is pretty small compared to other restaurants I've visited (about 70% or their size). It used to be pretty good. In addition, they now want you to use a QR code to see the menu vs. giving you a menu. I think I'm done with this place. read more

We have been dining here for several years now and have yet to write a review. Today is that day! I will not go into another Pho restaurant because this one has spoiled us! My family and I have been eating here for almost 5 years. Not only do we like eating here, we have the utmost confidence in them that we bring friends and or family to dine-in (pre-zombie apocalypse). I love the food they make, the authenticity, freshness and flavor. The menu is just perfect, not too confusing and has a wide variety of winners(as far as the ones I tried). As for the owners and staff, they are all courteous and polite people. The dining area is clean, the restroom always attended to. As far as the price and serving size of the food, I think it's perfectly fine. If people are going to criticize the size and amount of food, they should consider the flavor of each items they try. Vietnamese food is rarely deep fried, almost always not covered in any cornstarch or flour, and is intended to make people enjoy their food, not to overstuff patrons or even waste food. So, when the time comes and we're all allowed to start living our lives again, dine in and enjoy freshly made food the friendly service. read more

Place was empty. That's expected since we are early. Ordered shrimp spring rolls $6.50. Rolls were small.. But didn't taste fresh. They were fine though. We've had better. Ordered an x-large pho. It was huge. We shared it and it was enough. Price was good for the pho $11.95. Flavors were ok. Nothing to brag about. This place did not leave us wanting more. We will probably joy come back again. After being out in the cold for a couple hours. Pho was needed to restore warmth. It was 8:20 and I was concerned with previous reviews saying that they close early. Walk in and was greeted and sat quickly. Ordered their combination Pho. I normally doctor my Pho with sriracha and the fixings so my only opinion on broth taste is that I liked it. Staff was very friendly and even check back to see how I liked it. One of the best pho places I've been to. I love it here! The manager/owner already knows my boyfriend and I, so every time we go there, he always sits us at the same spot =) I've tried a handful of their pho already, but I always seem to end up back to the seafood one. I just love seafood! I always order a small because as hungry as I am, I can never finish a large. Also, I love their shrimp roll!! It's delicious (I could just be obsessed with it, because I always crave it). The place itself is small, but very clean and the atmosphere is very nice. Their utensils are always clean and individually wrapped, which is nice to see. The service is great ---- water refills all the time (when needed), the employees are very friendly and respectful, and the food wait is not bad at all --- about 5-7 minutes only. There's only two different prices (small and large) and they are both pretty cheap. Worth every penny. I absolutely love it here -- highly recommend this place. read more

This place is really really good. Having grown up eating chinese/vietnamese food (but by no means a food snob) I'm really happy with what they serve here. I've tried many dishes.. the Pho Ga (it was okay) several of the noodle and rice dishes and even the bahn xeo.. and it's all good.. but my favorite, and what I always go back to, is the #11, which is the beef pho dac biet with everything. I order a small size and I'm always leaving stuffed and wiping the sweat from my brow, cause I eat the noodles and drink all of the soup. YUMM! When I'm really hungry, I will order the small size, but with extra noodles, since that's my favorite part. But normally, a small hits the spot without filling me up so much that I puke. I still gotta function at work, you know! They're quick, too! I work in the area, so I'm always glad I'm able to get in, eat and get back to work in 30 mins. I also come here when I'm feeling under the weather, or if I'm hung over.. nothing like a bowl of steaming pho to make a guy feel better :-D An amazing feel-good meal for less than $10??? Sign me up! I was excited to try this place as it's down the street from my home so I called in my order and the man said it would be ready in 15 mins. My husband runs in to get the order about 25 mins later and the man working says he has our order so my husband comes back in the car with something that does not look like what we ordered. So i send him back to confirm we have the right thing. Then the man says he does not have an order from the number he took down. I gave my husband my phone to show the man that indeed this was the place we called. He denied it and said no one called from my number. This place definitely gets a nod for quick service. Our family was quickly greeted by who appears to be the owner, he was very friendly to my little boy. The staple here has to be the pho because they hooked it up with meat and noodles so it was shareable! The mi xao don (crunchy fried noodles with chicken and veggies) was good especially because it was with chicken breast which is the better more lean protein. The gentleman serving seemed like he didn't want to be at work today. Let's start with the spring roll appetizer; the contents felt like they had been stored for awhile, really dry and no flavor. The peanut sauce it came with was just BLAH!!! I ordered a small soup with beef, tendon and tripe for my wife: I have to say that the broth wasn't bad but the amount of beef was lacking to say the least. The pic posted does not do justice, what little meat floated to the top of the bowl. I felt like I was looking for tripe as if I was looking for the secret prize in a Cracker Jack box. Lastly, I ordered a plate with grilled beef and shrimp; I was disappointed the minute I saw the server bringing it out. The meat was dry, the shrimp looked like they suffered from malnutrition (soooo small let alone getting only 2 with the plate). Honestly, there was more rice than meat!!! I didn't know the restaurant served kids meals! I definitely expected more for what they charged. If I could give negative stars I would. Uncommon Vietnamese restaurant in Rocklin feature "family styled" dinner. Of course, these are the Pho beef noodle variety, combination plates, or tasty sandwich which promote individualism. Nope, such entree like Catfish in Clay Pot, Fried Pompano, Sautéed Lemongrass Chicken/Beef/Calamari/or Shrimp, or Shaken Beef... to be shared among friends or family members. It doesn't get any more authentic Vietnamese and personal than that! This is where one etiquette and generosity shine! We ordered Catfish in Clay Pot and Sautéed Whole Calamari with steamed rice for dinner. Clay pot dish has the right consistency and saltiness that paired well with hot steam rice. However, the fish slices were a bit thin and bony (this is where you would pick out the largest morsel of fish that devoid of bones and offer to your significant grateful bowl!). Sautéed calamari was spicy and has deep natural flavor characteristics of this dish. Consuming the whole calamari will no doubt show off your squid spine removal expertise in front of your wide eye significant other (or freak out). Total bill came out to be reasonable $38 for two persons. Yeah this may not for everybody, but this how Vietnamese family share an intimate dinner back home. Their ham and fish cake sandwiches are very good. Soft inside and crunchy outside with all the condiments worthy of their $6.25/ea. We had to return for sandwich lunch few times!
