We eventually received a text that our table was ready, but when we returned, we were asked to wait an additional 10 minutes because the guest occupying part of the table had paid but hadn't left yet. The staff eventually asked him to move to another table so they could combine the space for our group, and once that was sorted out, we were finally seated. Ordering was straightforward. I chose the extra‑spicy ramen combo with a pork bun. Unfortunately, we were informed that their fryer was broken, so none of the fried items were available, which was disappointing. Still, the food arrived in a reasonable amount of time, and the ramen absolutely delivered. The broth was rich and flavorful, the noodles were perfectly cooked, and all the toppings tasted fresh. My sister‑in‑law had recommended this place, and she was right, the ramen really is excellent. The only downside to our visit was an interaction with one of the servers. When we asked for extra napkins after my son accidentally spilled his water, she smirked at us in a way that felt dismissive and unprofessional. Her attitude left a negative impression, and I wish we had been assisted by someone else. Overall, the quality of the ramen saved the experience. If the service had matched the food, this would have been an easy five‑star visit. They were not busy at all when we came in the afternoon so we got seated quickly. My wife already knew what she wanted so she ordered her spicy garlic edamame and got the blaze ramen. I wasn't craving ramen so I went with 2 spicy chicken bun. My bun came out quick and it had a spicy kick to it but it wasn't bad, I thought it was fine. Solid ramen spot and in general the Silverlake ramen chain is a safe bet. The classic tonkotsu pork broth is creamy and umami. The protein options Include tofu, chicken , and pork belly. The pork belly is the most flavorful. My go to is the Shoyu on Fire and I order it medium heat. It has a good spicy kick. It also comes with a roasted jalapeno (iykyk) and I added sautéed garlic mushrooms. This is one savory spicy yummy bowl. The chicken Karrage is crispy and we always get a bottle of unfiltered sake to share. The bowls come out generously portioned, steaming hot, with those noodles perfectly prepared for slurp, texture and chew. When eating here, you can easily forget the other ingredients in the dish. I chose the Chicken Shoyu on Fire (spicy clear chicken stock with shoyu, green onions, corn, fried jalapenos, seaweed, micro cilantro, lime & seasoned egg). The curry karaage bowl seemed the most appealing. The regular was the perfect size for me and SO but it lacked in flavor whilst the karaage itself was decent and lean. Any time it's winter, the ramen urges skyrocket for me and I'm glad this is pretty close to home, rather than tracking into the belly of the valley or La itself. I got their blaze ramen I think. I've heard about Silverlake Ramen for years, so I was excited when they opened one so close to my house. It was loud, bright and the staff was friendly and quickly took our order. We tried out the crispy rice with spicy tuna and once you take a big bite of it you can taste the flavorful spicy tuna, the kick from the jalapeño and the crunch rice balancing it all with the creamy avocado. The ramen came out next and after mixing in the spicy paste to the broth it turned up the flavor. The broth was rich and creamy and had a good flavor to it. Across LA there are several Silverlake Ramen restaurants! At 3pm on a Friday this restaurant was pretty empty! Thus seems like the perfect time to go on a Friday as at nighttime, especially on a Friday this place can be quite busy. We started with Gyoza. You can get them fried or steamed. There are only 6 small dumplings per an order. The price for this item seems a big expensive for the size and amount. The Gyoza were good but not great. We also tried two different ramens: one spicey ramen with chicken and the other one with truffle and tofu. The broths were pretty good on both bowls. The bowls only came with one egg. The one egg was good but we wish there were more. You can order more. You can add more eggs, vegetables, noodles and more for a price. The bowls were pretty big in size. The waiter said people rarely finish their bowls. The bowls were 17 plus dollars. We enjoyed our ramen but we have had better. I think the ramen was average. Service was ok. Waiter was cleaning tables and serving food. Eek! Plus or drinks were forgotten. As for cleanliness- could be better. We sat at a table viewing the garbage pail: not the best view. We got the garlic truffle ramen and it's incredibly flavorful and mouthwatering. It was my first time ever getting the tsukemen dipping noodles and they did not disappoint. Probably my favorite ramen! I usually grt the garlic truffle with chicken or pork. It's so creamy and the portion of the noodles is so generous. I e tried their Creamy Broccolini, Pork Bun and Spicy Chicken Bun and Shrimp Tempura Roll. I've really enjoyed the broccolini and pork bun more than the spicy chicken bun. It was more juicy and flavorful. The Shrimp Tempura Roll wasn't anything special. It's usually packed especially in the winter but I recently went and there wasnt a wait. We got there around 5pm on a Saturday. I'm sure by 7pm it gets packed. It's easy to park as it's at the Vineyards in Porter Ranch but it can take a while and the whole parking lot gets packed. We tried Silverlake Ramen last Saturday night as their popular neighbor, Finney's Crafthouse, had a one hour wait for a table. With our sweet toddler granddaughter along, there was no way that an hour's waiting time would fly, even with the nearby play area. Generally, I enjoy ramen places. This one felt disjointed to me; like I didn't know where to check in for a table, or how their serving activities take place. Possibly because the neon graphics are so bright, while the furniture is so dark, it threw me off visually at first. Figured it out; the host stand is also where the register is at the front immediately after you get in the door. There's really no waiting area. We were shown to a table as soon as it was cleared. They do have full table service, although we were served by various people, so it was hard to know who was actually take care of us - everyone? Like I said, disjointed experience. They don't have a kids' menu, which also made it challenging for us to find something that our young companion would enjoy / eat (she's picky!). We ended up getting her noodles. I ordered a side of butter, thinking I would toss that over the noodles. Not so much, since the ramen was in a bowl with a small amount of broth on the bottom. Challenging! She did enjoy eating the long noodles like she was in Lady and the Tramp, slowly sucking them up into her mouth. She wouldn't try any chicken, or gyoza, or anything else but lemonade. Speaking of gyoza, it was overly greasy, which took away from the flavor. I didn't enjoy them very much, actually. Dear Hubby and I went for an order of dipping ramen, with sauce in a bowl on the side. We had the chicken, which was tender and plump, and a generous portion. There was some spice profile that I didn't quite care for; a flavor I couldn't readily identify. Whatever it was, it was different enough that I ended up sticking mainly to the ramen noodles, all while trying to make sure our granddaughter got enough food. We did have lots of leftovers, and the broth's flavor improved over a couple days of refrigeration and reheating. Large servings! They don't yet have their liquor license, so despite the neon signage marketing beer & wine, they can't yet serve those options. They have sodas and (very sweet) lemonade available. Self-parking is free but hard to find as there are way too many businesses there that attract large crowds, including an AMC Theatre. There is no Valet parking. Venue 4: Nice modern and inviting yet unpretentious set up with indoor seating (tables and a ramen bar). I love the murals on the walls! They have table service as well as takeout. Service 3: Service was polite but not particularly accommodating. Food 5: Ramen, bowls, and appetizers. I had the Garlic Truffle Ramen with Pork. It was one of the better Ramens I have had. Highly recommended. Pork Bun was also good. My family liked their Classic and Veggie Ramens and the Crispy Rice with Spicy Tuna also. Drinks 3: So far, soft drinks in cans only. As of September 2023, they just got their liquor license and will start serving beer and sake soon. The Last Word 4: Excellent Ramen!
