I can't believe this is my first time here. The pork and shrimp spring rolls tasted fresh and the peanut sauce was sweet. I had the pork banh mi, the meat was sliced super thin, it was saucy and a little crispy, the bread was soft but slight toasted, it came nice and warm! Nothing soothes my soul quite like the pork Banh Mi sandwich and seafood pho from here. I truly look forward to it on a cold Saturday evening. This most recent time we came they were VERY busy. I heard they changed owners again... Food was not good. I asked for bun Bo hue with just rare steak and cha lua. What I got was all the meats and tendon and no cha lua. All the meats were tough and tendon was hard. Do not recommend. They ended up bringing me 2 tiny little pieces of cha lua. Pho came with roughly 5 pieces of meat. I've been eating here since they opened and I could tell immediately that there had been changes. The menu is much shorter than it used to be so it looks more like a greatest hits list of Vietnamese food that appeals to non-Asians. The quality of the food is far below what it used to be. No nuoc mam with the spring rolls, just a terribly sweet chili sauce. I don't believe that the noodles in the bun bowl were rice noodles but they certainly were mushy and they were hot which is very unusual in what is normally a cold/room temperature dish. The pork tasted sautéed rather than grilled and it too was excessively sweet, especially without the grill char to offset it. The whole balance of the dish was wrong and with my eyes closed I probably could not have identified it for what it was. The pho broth was bland and just not much of anything. The noodles in that were also questionable. The plate of herbs that comes with it was maybe half the size it had been, making it all that much difficult to improve the taste of the pho. Service was slow and disjointed but polite and this isn't someplace you visit for the atmosphere. Sadly, it's also a place I will no longer be visiting for Vietnamese food. Food is pretty pricey for the quality of the food. Spring rolls were very tiny and served with sweet chili sauce rather then the normal fish sauce. That was funny and not to my liking. As for the pho, very little noodles and so much oil in the broth was totally disgusting. I hate to complain so I didn't say anything about it. Needless because she never came back to the table. This is third pho place we've tried since moving to the area. It's the best so far Combination pho - XL - good portion size. Very nicely flavored. The bean sprout and basil are super fresh. Egg roll fried - slightly different from what I expected. The dipping sauce differs from the usual fish sauce vinegar combination. But the flavor was genuine. And the dipping sauce itself was different in a good way. Kid menu - fried rice with beef with no veggie. I'd rather they put some veggie in. But my son loved it as is. I heard that this place came under management recently and it shows. The service is great and it really well decorated now. Tried the Banh Xeo and they let me sub for chicken which was great. The portion was huge and enough for two people. We also got the banh mi and beef combo pho and springs rolls and all of it was great. I love getting the banh mi with egg for breakfast.
