The food was really good. Very flavorful and good portions. The staff was really good as well. Everyone was friendly and we felt welcome there. I believe this is a small family run business, so that may be why we had to wait a while sometimes for service. Other than that, it was a great experience and we will definitely be back!

Nothing soothes my soul quite like the pork Banh Mi sandwich and seafood pho from here. I truly look forward to it on a cold Saturday evening. This most recent time we came they were VERY busy. Probably the busiest I have ever seen them. It took a little while to get our food but, as always, it was well worth the wait. I am happy for them to be so busy - I love this spot and hope it continues to thrive for years to come!

House special pho

Small Skimpy portions of protein. 5 extra small, extra thin slices of beef, 3 tiny sprigs of tripe, 3 small slices of brisket and 1 beef ball cut in half. Old watery wilted beansprouts and blackened Thai basil was included. Pho Far East in Raleigh down the road is far better.

I heard they changed owners again... Food was not good. I asked for bun Bo hue with just rare steak and cha lua. What I got was all the meats and tendon and no cha lua. All the meats were tough and tendon was hard. Do not recommend. They ended up bringing me 2 tiny little pieces of cha lua. Pho came with roughly 5 pieces of meat. This is not how you do business.

Pho Super 9 was great! I had their pho with brisket, meatballs, and a lot of veggies that came with it, and it was amazing. We also ordered spring rolls to share before our main entrée (the pho), and those were not disappointing at all. I like coming to Pho Super 9 whenever I'm in the mood for pho!

The owner was very sweet and considerate. First time I took both my kids here. We ordered pho bowls, fresh rice paper rolls, fried egg rolls, vietnamese iced coffee, and avocado smoothies. Everything was delicious. The foods came out quickly, the restaurant was very clean and spacious. I enjoyed everything we ordered. The owner kept coming to check on us to make sure we had what we needed. I also think their prices are decent. I highly recommend!

I ordered the steak and shrimp pho! The food was good but I got seated before the rush came in and it felt like everyone that came in after me had gotten served before me. Once I got served, I have not been checked on not one time. I've been waiting for someone to ask me for a to go container but they're all just sitting behind the counter.

This is my new favorite Vietnames restaurant in Raleigh. The food is good especially their weekend chef's specials (I tried their Hủ tiếu Nam Vang and cháo lòng). Highly recommended for whoever visiting Raleigh in the weekend. Located near Triangle Mall with plenty of parking. Inside decoration is quite eye catching. I hope you guys keep up the food quality.

Ask the Community - Pho Super 9

Is the vegetarian pho the only vegan or vegetarian option?

No, my wife had tofu spring rolls today. They can also do rice or vermicelli plates with tofu & veggies. Be aware almost anything there may have fish sauce in it, which is def not vegetarian.

I have been in search of a good pho spot in North Carolina for a while and I think I have finally…read morefound it. This restaurant is authentic and the broth here really hit the spot for me. The also has all the side condiments you would want to go with your pho which is hard to find around here. The service was also amazing, they sat us down quickly, took our orders almost right away, and the food came out in about 10-15 minutes. The restaurant itself was well decorated, bright, and clean. I will 100% be coming back when I am in the area.

It photographs beautifully. Unfortunately, restaurants aren't judged on lighting. We ordered everything upfront: Banh Xeo (explicitly no shrimp due to a shellfish allergy), Cha Gio, Pho Tai, and the Chef Special. Somehow, not everything was entered correctly. The Banh Xeo arrived covered in shrimp. Allergy clearly stated. It was sent back immediately. We were told they could remake it, but it would "take a while because it takes a long time to make." Banh Xeo takes under 10 minutes in a properly run kitchen. We declined and assumed the rest of our meal would arrive promptly. It didn't. The egg rolls weren't just fried, they were fully baptized in oil. One bite and it felt like chewing on a sponge that lost a fight with the fryer. Then we watched tables seated at least 15 minutes after us receive their food before we did. When we asked about the remainder of our order, we were told it had "just been added" and would take a while. Pho taking 35+ minutes in a Vietnamese restaurant isn't high volume. It's disorganization. The Chef Special was decent. The pho, which should be the backbone of the menu, was underwhelming. Several tables around us had incorrect orders or long delays. The owner circulated, but instead of urgency or accountability, the energy felt inconvenienced. Here's the reality: great atmosphere can draw people in once. Food and leadership bring them back. If you're going because it looks trendy and buzzing, go in with eyes open. The aesthetic might be the star of the room, but the food should be.

We walked to Anise Pho from our AirBNB in downtown Raleigh on a cold night. I'm glad we walked,…read morebecause finding parking would have been tough- and probably would've resulted in us walking just as far. I like Vietnamese food, but the options are limited where I live- and the options for vegetarians are even MORE limited at most Vietnamese spots. This spot is different- they have a whole page of vegan options on the back of the menu. My vegan pho with tofu was wonderful, and I loved the kick from the chili oil. I also liked adding the pho toppings, and they brought us extra bean sprouts since my husband and I both love them. I didn't have anything to drink, but all of the drinks were super reasonably priced. My husband had a beer. The bar has everything you could want to drink as well as mocktails. The portions are large, and when we got to-go containers, the employees even brought us plastic bags to pack each container in, so nothing leaked on our walk home. That was a nice touch and well appreciated. My husband got a bahn mi for later, and it was also packaged well for a to-go item. Anise is a great choice for pho or other Vietnamese foods in Raleigh, and if I lived nearby, I'd be a regular here and try everything on the vegan menu.

My Mom lives in Raleigh and comes often. She was so excited to have us try her favorite Pho spot…read more The outside and inside are not very fancy, but it gets the job done. We were seated right away, the server was super fun and friendly. There are for sure regulars that come here. The server knew a lot of people by name, for pick up orders and sitting inside. The Pho is for sure the best thing on the menu. If I would have only had the Pho it would have been a five star experience. I however had the combination and bbq chicken Banh mi Sandwiches and the shrimp spring rolls. The spring roll was crispy on the outside but still frozen on the inside. They remade it and the outside tasted like burnt oil and the inside was still cold. The Banh mi Sandwiches were full of super fresh veggies, I loved that! The downside is the combination one had no Mayo so I had to ask for some. The other downside was that the bbq chicken one had no sauce at all and very little chicken. Again, the veggies were really crunchy and fresh which I loved. Overall I would for sure go back for the Pho, it was delicious. One of the best broths I've had at a Pho spot.

The service was friendly. I was greeted as soon as I walked into the store. It's a small space, so there isn't to much to it. They were cleaning (rather sweeping the floor) and stopped to greet me and take my order. Everyone had on masks that I could see in front. In the back, I did see after ordering a few without their masks on (if that's something you need to take in consideration, then take as needed). They woman that took my order, washed her hands and gave me a menu. She wanted to know if there was anything in particular I was looking for and if I would be dinning in or take out (if you do take-out, they ask that you make your order and then return to your car to await for the food). I explained I just wanted something to go and from there I looked over the menu. When I asked about how some of the items were prepared, she quickly explained and never gave any attitude or anything about my many questions. From my questions, she gathered that I wanted something along the lines of vegetarian and suggested about four different dishes that I might like. Since I wasn't tooooo hungry, I went with the Nem Chay Cuốn Bbq Vegi Spring Rolls (2): Soft rice paper wrapped around bbq Vegi, & lettuce, served with house special sauce. Total: $5.41 What a treat! These were so fresh and tasty! Great mixture of herbs, noodles, and tofu. Nothing was too overwhelming - all just right! The dipping sauce!!?! I could drink it (well, maybe just use it on MORE rolls!). From what I gathered from my visit, it was a good spot for something simple. I do have friend that comes here every time they come to town to order their shrimp fried rice - they state it is amazing. So, there are two dishes that I can tell you about - the rolls from my personal experience and the fried rice that my friend raves about without any shame!

I was actually a little nervous going in because certain Chinese dishes tend to upset my stomach, so I tried to avoid some of the heavier noodle and chicken dishes that normally do that to me. Honestly, I think that was the best decision because I thoroughly enjoyed my meal and felt completely fine afterwards. I started with the crab rangoons, which were perfectly creamy on the inside and crispy on the outside -- absolutely delicious. Then I tried the pork-filled bao buns, which was my first time ever having them, and I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed them too. Everyone else at our table seemed to really enjoy their food as well. I genuinely didn't hear a single complaint. We also ordered some drinks that were delicious, and both our server and the rest of the staff were absolutely fantastic and very welcoming throughout the night. The atmosphere and vibes inside are honestly one of the coolest parts of the experience. It somehow feels like a mix between a brewery, a florist, a bookstore, and a Chinese restaurant all at once. It's such an interesting and unique space that doesn't really feel like anywhere else. Overall, this was a great experience, and I would absolutely come back to try more items on the menu.

I stopped in just a they were opening on a Friday and thank goodness I showed up when I did, this place gets packed quick and you should book a reservation to be on the safe side. I was most excited about the duck egg rolls but ended up being my least favorite not because they were slightly on the dry side. Flavor was good, and the hoisin honey sauce really helped! The seafood dumplings were second best, stuffed full. The soup based was amazing and it also came with some bread for dipping in the leftover sauce. The pork and chive shumai were my favorite! A little bit bigger than bit sized but worth the mouth full! Absolutely would recommend. I'll 100% be back for more food. The bar side looked to be more casual, the dinning room was full of high tea attire so I did feel a little under dressed, thought it would be slightly more casual. They have the cutest library with free books to read but only while you dine in. The flower and book shop are in the middle of the space. Super cute, limited options but great for a last minute bouquet!
