As a Vietnamese that can eat just about anything, this is the worst food that I've tasted. I've served in the military before and this restaurant's food is worse than even the military rations I've had. They skim on the ingredients, deliver bad tasting food and charge a high price. I've been enjoying Pho for several decades. I make it for family a couple of times a month at home. I met my wife for lunch here and we both had Pho Tai. It was good; the broth was good(i have had better) and I would go back. The broth was light clear and flavorful, but lacked the layers of flavor I have come to expect from a really good Pho broth. The condiments were also what i expected. I shall return...perhaps not for just the Pho but I would like to try their Bun Bo Hue or Bahn Mi. read more

I ordered viet ice coffee and it was premade in a plastic cup and brought out to me that way. The pho I ordered was full of soup and noodles and I can count only 5 piece of beef. I really wanted to like this place. It's close to my home, and I'm all for the small business owner's success . However, the food was not that great. I couldn't wait to get home and eat the egg rolls, so I started devouring them in the car. They were bland! Got home, put together the soup as instructed. It was pretty bland as well. Just ok. Service was very slow albeit friendly. My pho lacked depth of flavor in the broth. Only three small pieces of steak. There were four large pieces of meatless fat though which appeared intentional. Nonetheless, not appealing in taste or appearance. The pork spring rolls had good texture but lacked flavor. Was my first time having pho. I had the beef and my partner had the Ox Tail. We also ordered a Boba Tea and the Soft Spring rolls. Everything was really tasty. There was plenty of mint and bean sprouts for the two of us. The pho is a big portion in a large bowl with a lot of noodles. You should be able to take some home easily. Enjoy. read more

I had high hopes for this restaurant and I was extremely disappointed! I ordered one of the specials- vegetable curry on noodles. When I think curry- I think FLAVOR!! I have never had bland curry before! The vegetables were limp and few and far between! The noodles were WAY over cooked, with no texture at all. The curry sauce was this insipid yellow gelatinous goo with zero flavor! I am vegan, and my choices were extremely limited. My daughters ordered the pho- and they said it was pretty bland- but was resurrected by the addition of a good amount of fish sauce. The only reason I gave this place any stars at all was because our server was really nice and the restaurant was very clean. The other disappointment was that the food came to the table in dribs and drabs! No one got their food at the same time. I feel this is very awkward and unnecessary. The person who gets their food first feels uncomfortable starting before the others get theirs! I think it was a full 5 minutes or more from the time the first person got her food (5 in our party) and the last person got his! Just keep it all in the kitchen until it's all ready to be served. In my case, I wish it had stayed in the kitchen and I had chosen a different restaurant! There is a pho restaurant in Westfield that I considered, but didn't want to travel that far- a huge mistake on my part! Their food is 5 star fare and worth the extra 20 minute drive. read more

This location was taken over a few months ago by new management. Although the previous proprietor's operation was OK, after a couple visits we didn't think it was remarkable. I decided to stop in a month ago and was pleasantly surprised by the new owners and better pho. I've been a fan of Pho and soft spring rolls w/peanut dipping sauce since 1975 when a Vietnamese restaurant opened up near my house. I judge the pho in two categories: Taste of the broth and the ingredients. At Pho Tasty, I've gotten only the house special Super Bowl, about $15. The taste of the Pho broth is as good as I've ever had, rich with anise and other seasonings and spices, but not too salty. The meats in the Super Bowl are tender, tasty, and plentiful. The rice vermicelli is properly cooked. The bean sprouts and the basil are very fresh. If you like pho and soft spring rolls with peanut sauce, you should check this place out! Note that the prices on their web site's menu are different from what I pay( a bit higher ) for carry-out. If you're sensitive about not paying a couple dollars more than what's on the menu in the store and what's posted, check the prices before ordering. read more

I really like this place. It's small, reasonably priced and the service was good. Our server was super sweet and attentive. Now about the food. We ordered bubble tea (I got mango and the hubs got honeydew -- both were fantastic!), soft spring rolls with shrimp and pork and then the pho. The bubble tea came within 3-4 minutes then a couple of minutes later the spring rolls appeared along with our giant bowls of pho. We waited a total of MAYBE 6 minutes for all of our food. The pho was a giant serving, as it should be, and it was sooo good! There were huge chunks of everything in it which made it comforting and filling. They also serve their pho with a plate full of bean sprouts and Thai basil for you to add as you see fit. On the table, every condiment to enhance you pho experience is available: salt, pepper, fish sauce, hoisin, crushed red pepper -- it was so delicious! Definitely recommended :) read more

This place has THEE worst customer service. I went here today for only the 2nd time. The first experience was "meh". The guy didn't seem at all interested in taking my order. But today, oh today took the cake. I walk in and approach the counter where a caucasian lady is doing something at the register. No one else was at the register. Not once does she look up or even acknowledge me. Finally after standing there for about a minute I ask if I can have a menu. She offers a sad apology and mentions that its been busy. I asked her a question about the combination noodles. She gives me an answer about the soup. I then explain to her that I'm not referring to the soup and then start explaining to HER what the dish is made with and ask again, "does the Bun Thit Nuong Cha Gio come with ____". She says, "I don't speak Vietnamese so I don't know what it is you're asking about. What number is it on the menu? Uh, yeah I think it does" Huhhhhhh????? I said, "So you can't tell them that I don't want ______ since you don't speak the language" She says and I kid not, "No one here speaks English so I mean if you know how to speak Vietnamese you can tell them yourself" She, again proceeds to tell me how busy it is, although NO ONE else is standing in line and there are only a few people in the small space having lunch. To make a long story short, don't take a job for an ethnic restaurant if your excuse for not helping the customer is you don't know the language. How rude!!! My family is Vietnamese, my wife is from Hanoi, and I have been to Vietnam for work about 30 or 40 times over that past 25 years. So I am very familiar with Vietnamese food. We came up to Indy to move my older daughter up here, and stumbled on Pho Tasty. I was a little hesitant about the place, because the name is kind of flaky. But it was great. The avocado sinh to / bubble tea was outstanding (if you've never had it, try it. it sounds weird, but it is GREAT). Often places put a lot of ice instead of fruit (avocado) to save money, but this place put in the avocado, and it is quite tasty). The Pho Tai (rare beef) and the Pho Dac Biet (special) also were very good, although pho is a northern dish and the owner is southern. The key is the broth, and the broth was very nicely done. The beef was tender, and tasty for both dishes. The banh mi dac biet sandwich also was great, a nice sauce, good ingrediants, the meat was not cheap (fat) and the bun was nicely crisped. And the owner and staff are very nice. Although southerners often are prejudiced against people from the north (like my wife) because the north won the war, the owner and staff were very nice. We definitely will be going back whenever we are in Indy visiting my daughter. read more

Very impressed with the tasty, light flavorful Pho -vegetarian was my choice. It was served with very fresh basil, Mung sprouts,lime wedges and jalapeños. The broth was excellent and the service quite good. I would like to see more vegetarian selections on the menu, but they seem willing to adapt as needed. My husband had a spicy beef noodle dish that he enjoyed quite a bit. The decor is great for a strip mall location, very inviting, warm and contemporary. read more
