This place is awesome every time I get it. I love the pho and the steamed dumpling taste so pillowy and fresh!!!

I'm honestly surprised at all of the positive reviews here. The floor was so sticky my sandals almost came off while I was walking. My husband got a high chair for our toddler that was so sticky and gross that even after scrubbing it down with baby wipes we cringed putting him in it. Overall, certainly didn't seem very clean, the upholstery on the booths were all coming apart. Service was definitely sub par. The restaurant was not busy at all, and it took our server a good five minutes to acknowledge we were even there. Now for the food... I ordered the pork and egg roll with vermicelli bowl, my husband ordered the combo chicken and pork sandwich. My order came right out while his sandwich took much longer. Honestly, how does the sandwich take longer to cook/prepare than the pork egg roll and noodle bowl? The meat was lukewarm and had the texture/taste of last night's leftovers. The sauce for my dish was not made authentically. The sandwich was decent, but definitely not a Vietnamese sandwich, and the pickled vegetables were not very pickled. When I unwrapped my fork and chop sticks, my fork was dirty with food still on it. While we were not expecting home cooked Vietnamese quality, this restaurant has lost its authenticity. I looked up the reviews first and while there were a couple bad ones, I went with those who liked it. I was very satisfied with the pho-od. I never had Vietnamese, and I was blown away. My mouth is on fire and I'm heading for the showers. It was so spicy (I asked for it hot) and I wasn't let down. The order was to go but the restaurant was clean and the staff was helpful. They made recommendations when I said I could handle hot food. The wait was short after I ordered. In short, the staff - friendly, the restaurant - clean, the pho-od - phantastic. One of my favorite places to go eat pho local. There's been times where my additives haven't been as fresh as I prefer but if I ask nicely. They always grant my request. I've never left unhappy, although there's things on the menu I wouldn't order again. But overall a good place. read more

Clean, quiet, unassuming little place in the Kyle HEB stripmall. I had the fried rice with tofu (sans egg) last time I was here, I enjoyed it. There are some good veggie options for the herbivores. One thing to be aware of is that the last vegetarian option, the Noodle Soup, is now made with chicken broth. According to our waiter, it wasn't selling very well, so now they only serve it with chicken broth. It's not indicated on the menu, which is somewhat irritating, so I would double-check the details on anything you order just to be sure. Also worth noting is that the vegetarian Lemongrass Tofu is served with a small side of some clear chili-garlic concoction that contains fish sauce... it makes me wonder sometime what people think 'vegetarian' actually means. It's one of very few vegan options in the area, so it has that going for it, especially if you're very hungry and stuck in Kyle. Sadly, not worth the drive up from San Marcos. read more

This is delicious!!! I ate the Pho Do Bien or Seafood Pho, I added steamed rice, lime juice, red spicy sauce, the fresh herbs and bean sprouts. Tasted sooo good!! With a fresh shrimp spring roll. Yummy!!! I definitely recommend this restaurant. read more

I was looking forward to a Pho place close to home. Unfortunately this was not it. Not a bad place but the service was not good-it was OK once they got to you but slow. If the place had been busy I would understand but, alas, no. The servers did not know the menu and could not recommend dishes. Not sure what the other people are talking about... I've been here multiple times with my boyfriend. The waitress (I never remember her name) is super sweet, keeps glass of water full and makes conversation with us because we go so often I suppose. I get pho and shrimp spring rolls most of the time. I have gotten some of their Bun dishes and they're pretty tasty. The pork spring rolls are also delicious. Honestly, no idea what everyone is talking about. Broth is tasty. Food I've had is tasty too. Yes, I know what pho is supposed to taste like, I've tried most of the ones in austin and some in San Antonio! Giving 4 stars instead of 5 just incase service has faltered since my last visit about a month ago. read more

First time my fellow Yelpers have let me down! We usually go to Pho 99 but I guess they are closing early during ronirona so got on Yelp to find an alternative. This place is ranked #1 for Pho but have NO idea how they are ahead of Pho 99. First off the egg rolls are absolutely HORRIBLE - took one bite and could not eat the rest - and I ordered 2! Overcooked and just this Nasty taste. Spring rolls were slightly better - but Nowhere close to how good Pho 99's are. Ordered 2 Pad Thai - one chicken and the other was combination- both were sort of ok since we were so hungry but very disappointing to say the least. I think they just use regular pasta noodles!?! And had this underlying burnt taste to it. Will never try Pho Thái Son- Kyle again and will make sure to go earlier to Pho 99 for dinner! First time going here. Pretty good. The seaweed salad was absolutely amazing, and large enough to share with a date. Had the chefs special beef pho, a little underwhelming but great soup stock. The Vietnamese crepes were a bit oily and hard for my date to eat. Didn't have a problem with the service, but we were the first in the restaurant. Will I ever come back? Maybe. I'll have to check out other places that serve pho. read more

It's Kyle, so you don't expect awesome food most of the time. The pho broth here is superb, and it saves Pho Thaison from my wrath on other things. If pho is your thing, they do a damn fine job here. I find myself coming in at least once a week for it - more often if I'm working from home. I haven't had better broth in Austin, so I'm really happy to have my Vietnamese fix so close to home. Minuses: Sushi: The fish on the nigiri came out still partially frozen in the middle - yeah, their sushi fish is previously frozen. Maybe the defrosting process is why it takes so long for any sushi to arrive? The salmon skin hand roll was a greasy mess of soggy breading. Hit or miss: When the noodle dishes come out piping hot, they're good. Not so good when they're lukewarm. Or when the meat is more fat and connective tissue than meat. I tried the lemongrass chili pork, and it didn't have any lemongrass, let alone any flavor. It was tepid, which makes me wonder how long the meat has been sitting around... read more

My son and I always enjoy the food here! Never a wait time, staff is readily available, service is fast, food is very tasty! They only thing I'd recommend is the side door needs to be closed off because the outside weather hits you right in the face if you are seated near it and it was chilly when we were there. Fantastic Pho! I get the steak, which is the number 1. I have also tried the chicken lemon grass vermicelli bowl, the chicken curry, the steak salad, and the pan fried noodles. It's all good. Update: I really can't recommend this place anymore. Since I've posted this review, they've decreased the portion size of meat on their sandwiches to about one-fifth of the original portion. I've been back four times disappointed, twice voiced my complaint which today was remedied by the owner but still left me feeling jilted. The meat was honestly served as though it was a sprinkle-on seasoning. Sorry but I'm really thinking I may not be back. Not when the food is an afterthought. Original review: This place is truly a gem. It's really the only restaurant in Kyle with healthy food options, quick service, affordable prices with an upscale dining atmosphere. You can see the owner put a lot into this restaurant AND the menu- it's the only restaurant where the food comes out looking fresher and better than the photos. I could eat here everyday that's how good the food is. BUT, I have to sacrifice good service and a clean environment to do so, which don't get me wrong I make that sacrifice gladly. The staff isn't very friendly with an exception of one or two of the waitresses. And the windows are very dirty which sometimes drives me insane. The Thai coffee is AMAZING, I recommend anyone tries it. The sushi from what I've tried is great especially the spicy tuna! The #1 steak Phó is SO SO SO GOOD. Awesome pork spring rolls with peanut sauce. Pork lemongrass and grill pork with eggroll are excellent. Pho is decent but I am not a huge fan of any pho. Wife is a boring eater and she is able to get by on fried rice plates or fried noodle plates. I eat here atleast twice a week, would be more if the wife liked it. read more

I am a regular here, I go here about twice a week. The food is great and the service is fast. Their prices are very reasonable. What more could you ask for. My only suggestion would be maybe the staff could look a little more professional. People that work there wear street clothes and you cant tell if they are working their or they are customers. read more

I haven been here many times for the vegan pho, not many places have it and there are no pho spots in my town. Firstly, service has never been good here, all the servers I have had have been unfriendly and it doesnt seem like they even care about you. Each time i've come into this restaurant i seat myself like the sign says and it takes like 5-7 min for a server to acknowledge you. The last time i came here i sat down in a table for lunch by myself and no one greeted me for 10 mins so i moved to the bar..... still nothing. then some mean looking lady came up to me and asked if i had a togo order and i said no, so she asked if i wanted something to drink. a different lady brought my drink and left. the only nice and friendly person was a youngish guy who asked if i had been helped and i said yes but i need to put my order in, so he took my order. he brought my app, and my pho was brough by one of the ladies before. i was genuinely confused as to who was serving me but i hope my tip went to that friendly man. anyway the vegan pho is so good. the tables here are never clean. service is pretty bad. order togo? read more

Phó is one of my guilty pleasures I absolutely love it and am a big foodie. I've been trying out a plant based diet/lifestyle. Yesterday my roommate and I went to visit this location since we just moved to Kyle and Oh My Gawd!! Let me tell you! First of all our server Mindy was amazing from the moment she greeted us. High energy and great vibes and a beautiful voice (That's right girl we heard you singin). Anyhow the portions were great! I am always nervous about plant based dishes being that I'm new to this. Honestly I don't know where to start. I've had pho here a few times without issue. Service is normally mediocre but meh. Today we were the only table and it did take a while to get food ordered but it came out quickly. Listening to the back of the house cut up, yell and scream while waiting on the server was loads of fun. Oh yeah - and entertainment provided by the 4-5 year old boy racing around the joint screaming at the top of his lungs was a blast. Especially since the workers were the one chasing him. My Shaken Beef was okay - extremely salty and I like salt. The hot juice wilted almost all of the spinach and completely conflicted with the dressing. Now here's the kicker. Might have gotten another star or two until the kid's dad came in with Whataburger and started clipping the kid's fingernails on the bar where people pick up to go orders and eat! We tried it tonight for the first time. Let me start off by saying the staff was very kind and helpful. I felt welcomed from the start, and the server helped me with some questions I had before ordering. We ordered a couple of dinners to go and an appetizer. YES!!! Finally I can get my Pho on close to home :) I really enjoy the location of Pho Thaison in Kyle. I have dined in several times and called in orders too. Never had any problems. I always get Pho when I go here so I can't really say I know a lot about the menu. The Pho is always hot, and comes out pretty quick after ordered. Side veggies are always clean and of good quality too. Also every table has Sriracha! :) Only thing I think they could step it up on is: Wait staff is dressed in regular clothes and they keep lights above the booths off most of the time. read more
