I really wanted to like their pho, since the next closest place would be in south Austin.. This is what I have to say, the meats and veggies were fresh, my only problem was the broth.. which is the most important part. The broth was overpoweringly salty, pho is not supposed to have really high salt concentrations.. your supposed to be able to taste all the herbs that go into pho.. not just saltwater. Maybe next time I'll ask for some hot water on the side. read more

The pho was just ok, don't think you can go too wrong with pho though. My mom ordered a curry vegetable tofu dish, it was about 90% tofu with just a few pieces of the other veggies. This was the closest pho place to the outlet so we decided to give it a try. The pho was mediocre and bland. The bo luc lac was raw and not seared- the inside was still purple. The rice was also undercooked. The chef told me the meat was suppose to be like that. I've ordered and cooked plenty of bo luc lac and it definitely does not look or taste like that. We went there for lunch today and I am used to the sort of rude service but today I actually had 'Veronica' a rude server rip the menu out of my hand and tell me she was 'going to show me why it cost so much.' this was after several other rude things like mouthing off and throwing the togo cups at me.... My husband loves their beef Pho. Most of you Pho fans know Pho is a North Vietnamese dish. I almost always order the dishes from Mid or South Vietnam. I love grilled foods with the contrast of the noodles and prefer the "street stall" styled dishes. Enjoy. read more

We are regular diners at the restaurant but don't post reviews often. Always friendly service and good food. Some days are busier than others, so it can get a little hectic, but everyone is always working hard to give the best service they can. Love the vegetarian options, like vegan pho. This place is called Pho Thaison so you would expect the Pho would be good. Not only was the chicken as dry as sand in my pho but it made me sick (it was the only thing I ate that day). My boyfriend was smart and stopped eating his brisket pho after he said the broth was off and tasted like dish water. Pretty good garden-variety stuff. Can't say the sushi was fab, but the pho and bun were delicious. Try the tofu with vegetables (broccoli, mushrooms, bamboo shoots, etc) in the brown sauce. Heaven. Food can be good here. Been eating here since they opened. Surprised they are still open. Food does not come out hot! Egg rolls should be too hot to eat. They are not. Place is dirty. I have watched and heard the sushi guy CLIP his finger nails behind the bar more than once. That is disgusting! Today one of the cooks was yelling the whole time in the kitchen. I had to complain. Always great food when we stop by. The soup is one of my personal favorites and they will add any extra noodles or other fixings when asked; noodle dishes are yummy too. Service is always very friendly and great too (ask for the bearded guy!) It's definitely on our top list when deciding to grab good food. read more

Unfortunately I can not give them a NEGATIVE star. After having been exposed to the Vietnamese cuisine while stationed in Hawaii, as well as San Diego, I can safely say that I know good Vietnamese cuisine. When this placed opened I thought that it was a GOD send to have a Vietnamese restaurant just up the road from the house (NB). Well they started off great and headed down hill picking & picking up speed. Of late the service is terrible. I have had to ask for water when my cup was empty. On the last visit with my wife and daughter, we each ordered egg/spring rolls. The hispanic kid (who did not speak English very well if at all) who brought out our spring rolls gave my daughter hers, and my wife had 2 on her plate (she ordered 1) and asked where mine was at which point he was about to take my wife's away and I said those are hers and asked where mine was, which he smiled and left. I told the waitress that I hadn't gotten my spring roll and to take it off the tab. When we got our bill it was still on there and I said to remove it. She went back to return several minutes later to say that since we had gotten to spring rolls that we had to pay for them. I explained that since they screwed up by not serving mine I wouldn't pay for something I didn't get and her response was that my wife had two, which is when I explained that once the food had been placed on a table you have to throw it away and besides, when we ordered WE were specific as to who wanted what. At which point the owner(?) came over and said that he would not remove it. After raising my voice (and noticed that most of the people in the place were watching what was going on) I persisted as did he. He finally relented, we paid and left. Bottom line is he wanted me to pay for his employee's screw up, and the kicker is it was $1.50 that he was bitching about. Well I hope that enough people read this and do not contribute to this J@CKA$$. I told my wife that if the place were on fire and I had to piss. I would hold it & run over to HEB buy some marshmellows to roast on the damn fire. Heavy serving of attitude from the wait staff. First of all, I like the pho, that's all I order here because I haven't found anything else worth eating again. But, as soon as the weather turns cooler,we usually come here once a month just for the pho. Today the pho was as good as always, and I'll probably order from them again provided I don't get the attitude I got today. I ordered by phone and asked for two beef phos to go. She asked if I wanted 2 beef "fours," I assumed she said phos in a very funny way, so I said yes. Sure enough, when we got there they had something different from what I though I'd ordered. You could feel the temperature in the room drop when I said this was not what I ordered. So, I don't mind a wrong order since we mis-communicated, but I do not appreciate that she was placing the blame squarely on me. "YOU said beef four." The other waiter throws the order to the side and walks away. The lady never said anything else, but had this sour face all the time. She put the change down, said curtly "Fifteen minutes," and walked away. When I came back for the order, I stood at the cash register for a minute, and both of them saw me but didn't even acknowledge me. So I grabbed what I thought might have been our order and walked away. Call me silly, but I always thought a good business practice is that the customer practice is always right. She would have admitted she misunderstood what I said, I I would have admitted I had something to do with the mix-up. The ambience and the oriental and especially the Vietnamese food in the Menu are good. However, unfortunately takes an extra time to get the attention for orders to go when asked at the front/cashier table since one of the ladies in charge has the tendency to ignore some of the customers on purpose. I was excited to see a Pho joint in Kyle, but was dissappointed in my experience. My wife had the pho, which had a great broth, but with just average meat. I had the vermicelli bowl with grilled pork and spring roll. First, No Bowl!?!?! It was served on a large plate. Not sure what the intent was, but this is a dish meant for a bowl. The food was delicious. My boyfriend has this thing about only liking food that is so hot he can barely taste it, while I like a deeper more complex taste. And we were both happy with our meal. He had the singapore beef (which had beautifully cooked broccoli with it, I stole most of it) and I had the grilled chicken vermicelli. The noodles were perfect and I probably could have eaten an entire plate of those alone. My only negative comment is that the service was a little slow, however we did go at 2pm on a Wednesday so it's not exactly a heavily staffed time. Would totally go back. read more

We3 love the chicken and rice plate, the pho bowls and the crab ragoons...The biggest complaint we have is with two of the waitresses. I like to eat here because it's the closest place I can get the vermicelli noodles in soup without driving into austin. I have ordered other things and would say the food is ok. So sad. I loved this place when it opened. I still like the food, but the place is filthy. The last time I was there was in March, while there I noticed that the windows and the entry way had major hand smudges all over the place. I just went back and they are still there. Very obvious.
