I come here at least 4 days a week. The staff is so friendly and the food is amazing. They have the best potstickers I've ever had and the pho broth is absolutely delicious. I highly recommend trying this place out. If you like spicy pho ask for their chili oil it has such a good flavor and I prefer it to sriracha. If you love pho, you know that the broth matters -- a LOT. It makes the soup. When it's good, it's nice. When it's meh, it's tolerable. When it's bad -- it's a sad, sad day and waste of $$. BUT when it's ah-maze-zing ... oh, you're hooked. This place has addiction worthy broth. Broth that has lovingly simmered all day, replete with the flavors of oxtail bones and star anise and cinnamon. Yes broth so divine you could drink it (I do!) The meat is fresh & tender, and the veggies are super fresh. Came here on their second day of their Grand Opening after a long long hike up to Lake Serene. Got there with a huge group 10+ people 15 minutes before closing. They gave us a stare and we gave them a stare back from outside.. in fear they were gonna tell us we were too late.. but naw. none of that here. They greeted us with open arms, physically telling us it was okay and we were welcome. We were rowdy and rambunctious as any group of tired, hungry, smelly college kids could get but the waitress (supes cute beeteedubs) was chill and not annoyed or eager to get her shift done like any other waitress would have been 15 minutes before closing. When the food came it was mosdef bomb.com. We even had a couple Vietnamese folk in the group who had very developed palates, all of whom had experienced all the pho that south Seattle had to offer. Everyone agreed the food was great and the service was splendid. Definitely would go back. read more

I have been hoping for some good pho in Monroe... I'm still hoping. I've been here a few times now and reading the other comments, it seems like other people are in agreement with my feelings. The service is def friendly and I can't complain about that. The decor is bare and not much to talk about, but that's not really an issue. Onto the food... The pho broth has been kind of meh each time. There is also a seeming lack of meat in the pho, as they are really tight with adding it in. There are plenty of noodles to take up some real estate, but a little more meat would go a long way! There isn't a ton of meat in pho in general, but it def doesn't feel like enough in these bowls. I haven't ordered extra meat, as I don't want a ton, but just what would seem like a reasonable amount. All in all, this is about the only pho in town, I believe, aside from at a Chinese restaurant in downtown Monroe, but it leaves something to be desired. I have hope that they'll step up their game or another joint will come into Monroe to fill this culinary gap. read more

Newly opened and yet to be decorated but we didn't come for ambiance , we came for Pho! We used to go to Thanh brothers in Redmond until they closed a while back and just haven't found a top notch replacement until now. Wife has eaten here twice now enjoying the vegetarian Pho. I have had a meat choice. The simplicity of Pho would seem hard to screw up but it's the broth that makes one stand out from another and these folks have got it down pat. For Monroe I suppose it's alright. Ordered a Pho Dac Biet, or a #12 on account the kid was not fluent in Vietnamese. I got two tripe, two tendon, two brisket, and four pieces round steak, all pieces of meat were smaller than anywhere I've been, and I've been around! Cinnamon flavor in the broth was overpowering any other flavor, and the seating area smelled of urine, as the restroom needed a good scrub. Not recommended if you know Pho and have olfactory sensory neurons that are up and running. read more

Like poster Lynn W. I ordered the extra meat and was sorely disappointed. I ordered the roundeye steak + soft tendon and I think I might have had 3 pieces (small, teaspoon-size) bites of soft tendon at best. The flavor was decent, but I essentially paid over $10.00 for noodles and soup, i.e., little or no meat. In contrast, we have a concession at work for Vietnamese food (about once a month) and the bowl there is about the same size and easily 3 times the amount of quality meat plus noodles for $2.00 less. I hope the best for this place as I've really come to like Pho, but charging $10.00+ for mostly broth doesn't dispose me to come back. read more

Me likey. Décor is spare, and overhead fluorescent lighting...meh, not so much. But the service is friendly and cordial, and the broth distinctive and exotic, with a scent of clove. I ordered the rare beef and brisket combo. I could have done with a higher meat-to-noodle ratio; there seemed to be a glut of noodles, but perhaps 2-3 pieces of meat shy of being fully satisfying. I didn't order extra meat, so perhaps that's the tack I'll take on my next visit. I'd never seen this type of soup spoon there before; their spoons have a small, built-in hook on the end of the handle, preventing the spoon from descending to the depths of your pho bowl while you're working with the chopsticks. Technology, ain't it great? The fried egg roll appetizer was generous; there's enough in one order to comfortably tide three people over until their pho arrives. read more

I do not prefer my pho with an oil slick on top. We're talking the entire surface was an oil slick several millimeters deep. To eat it I had to spoon off the oil as best I could and absorb the rest with some paper towels. Even then it was only barely edible. Just for reference, I had beef broth with a few slices of chicken breast. Speaking of which, the chicken breast was also terrible. What makes slices of chicken have a "powdery" feeling in your mouth? I suspect freezing pre-cooked meat does it, but I do not know for sure. read more

The broth in the pho here is pretty flavorful and the first thing I rate where the name of the specialty itself is part of the name of the restaurant. Orders multiple large bowls to go and I found their quantities adequate but not generous. One thing they do that I am not a fan of is to put the meat (even the rare beef into the broth from the get go. That defeats the purpose of having the rare beef in the first place. The egg rolls were similarly good, if not generous with an order containing 3 slender pieces. I also ordered a mango bubble tea and it didn't have real mango in it, and really only earned a "meh" from me. I will have to realistically give an overall rating of 3.5 stars and reserve the right to update that rating when I have tried other items on their rather limited menu. read more

A 5 for friendliness. Of all the times i've been in, they have always had great service. In comparison to what else is available in Monroe, their Pho is a 3.5-4 - however, overall I would say it is just OK at a 3. The clove can be overpowering, but easily masked with hoisin or sriracha. This place is not one of my favorites, but when i do not want to drive out to Kirkland, it works. Meat portion size is somewhat disappointing, but not a deal breaker for me. Take-Home is disappointing as well as it seems that the large vs. the extra large are the same size and the broth always seems cooled. I always strain out the onions and cilantro when we get it home, bring to a boil and then pour over the noodles and meat. Oh and lastly, the tables can be sticky. They really should heat and clean the towels before wiping down the tables. read more

As a long time Pho' fan I was very pleased to find their authentic broth on a cold November day after starting a job far from home and my usual haunts in the ID back in Seattle. I go typically 2 times a week of late and the sassy you lady who works there knows my order and has it out to me asap so I can get back to work. Wishing they would bring in some Bahn Mi but for the location an exceptional value in an otherwise fast food desert town (Monroe). Great choice if you want something healthy and tasty. Nice solid pho only restaurant. They have appetizers and drinks as well but no rice dishes. Pho soup was very good and service was awesome.

I love Pho and this place has been my go-to all winter! The broth is very good here. Not as amazing as the Pho places in Seattle, but good for monroe standards. I order here all the time. My go to order is the Taro bubble tea (I'm sad when they run out of milk), V2- with veggie broth, and a 15. I like the huge sizes. that go up to XL. Usually the staff are very personable and nice. There are a few staff members that are kind of flat and seems bored all the time- I can guess which one who is talking to me if I order over the phone. It's kinda off putting But overall, I still love the place! read more

I love their Pho! A deep, rich broth that carries the spices, noodles and meat to a memory of a street cart in Viet Nam. Deliciousness in Monroe. I normally go to Pho Than Brothers in Lynnwood, but I was in the neighborhood and decided to try this place. I ordered a large combination and I knew right away when the Pho arrived it was not going to be good. The broth was very light in color which lead me to believe that it was not properly simmered with beef bones. The main flavor that came through was the star anise. For a large portion, there were hardly any meat and not enough noodles. At Pho Than Brothers, when I order a large there is lots of meat and noodles that I leave very full. Here, I felt like I could have eaten more! The guy that worked there was not very friendly. You can tell he did not want to be there. No smiles, no thank you, just abrupt. I will not return. Go to Pho Than Brothers if you want very good Pho. The one in Edmonds do have spring rolls on their menu now. read more
