If you dine in, you can only take one bowl, with the items of your choice, up to be cooked at a time, but you can have as many bowls as you want all for the same price. I'm a huge fan of Hot Iron, I eat at the Mill Creek one all the time. This one is for those on the eastern part of the county, great for coming back from a trip across the mountains. Easy parking, easy to get your food made to your exact specifications, fast. Plus if you are really hungry you can have a couple bowls. Sure it's not as reasonably priced as it once was, but I always leave absolutely stuffed. If you are not an overeater like I am, then you can always just get one bowl and take your leftovers to go, I admire people who are able to do this. What I love most about Hot Iron compared to other Mongolian grills is that they have tofu, olives and cilantro. Many people think its weird that I love olives in my Mongolian grill, but now I absolutely must have it. I also love that you can make your sauce exactly how you like it, if you go to a place where they put everything in the bowl for you, you may end up with a sauce concoction you do not love. I have perfected the flavor of my food. What I don't love as much as I used to, is that they switched to squeeze bottle sauces since covid, this makes it much harder to get the amount of garlic and ginger correct in my meal. I do hope they will consider switching back one day. My partner has been complaining about this, plus it makes everything all sticky and kind of gross but they do provide gloves and there is usually hand sanitizer available. I think these meals are perfect for people with different dietary requirements, you can pile on the meat, eat only seafood, go low carb or just do veg. Our wait -person last Sunday was Jessica, and she was completely charming and efficient. It makes a big difference when the employees make you feel welcome. The only negative note was NOWHERE to put your purse or bag in the ladies' restroom-no table, chair, or hook. No one wants to put their stuff on a bathroom floor, so that makes things awkward. Why isn't the air conditioning on? Went here for dinner yesterday July 24. It was a nice day, maybe 80 outside with a breeze. It was hot in the restaurant. We got our food and sat down to eat but then we all three started sweating hard. We didn't complain because we figured the AC was broken - - because what business would want their customers to be so uncomfortable? When we were almost finished we felt the AC start up! We were already dripping so it was just annoying to find out the AC just wasn't on! I don't know what the management is thinking about customer comfort but it's probably the last time we'll go. The counters were spotless and all of the food looked really fresh - even the meat cuts were kept frozen so they weren't limp or piled up on top of each other. This place has really gone down hill over the years. My brother and I ate here awhile back, have to say the place isn't what it used to be not too mention a place I would ever go back too. All in all, its ok. I have gone to this place quite a few times for the last 10 or more years, through many owners and name changes. But went last week and was disappointed in how bad its gotten. Food wise, its fine plenty, but they limit to one bowl. I use to have one bowl for the veggies, and stuff, and a second bowl for the meat and the flavoring. So now you have to cram it all into one bowl. It can be done, I never got back for a second bowl. I just want one trip, thats it. Then you get to the flavor bottles. Tried this for the first time the other night. $18.50 for all, you can eat bowls of noodles and meat. The meat selection is pretty small, but it was good and plenty of people eating there so you don't have to worry that the food is old. The only issue I really had was the labeling for their sauce bottles. They really need to label it better so people don't get confused and consume something they might be allergic to. It's also pretty small so eating at exactly noon or 6 PM would probably be a bad idea. I am likely to return. read more

UPDATE: I went to try this again after a few years of avoiding it and I don't know if they got new owners or something but the place was SO MUCH CLEANER than before. The counters were all wiped and cleaned, the rat traps were gone, the grease on the floor had be scraped off. There's no longer dirty rags and paper towels everywhere. The food wasn't spilling over into the bins next to it and was all very fresh. While I was there, several staff were cleaning and restocking. The staff was also so attentive and friendly, which wasn't always the case in the past. The food was great and I'm so happy to say thus restaurant has definitely turned it around! They have all the typical things you'd expect from a Mongolian grill, but also a few things I've never seen before, like Polish sausage and bacon, both of which work surprisingly well. They also have an array of post-grilling sauces, such as a BBQ sauce, a couple curries, and even a Thai peanut sauce. It was hard to choose. My only suggestion is to avoid the shrimp as they are peel-and-eat, which doesn't work well for a Mongolian grill setting. If they were pre-peeled, it would work a lot better. The place is small, but you get a lot of options for such a small place. The service is good and very clean. Also, their "to go" policy is much more forgiving than most Mongolian grills. They are also surprisingly cheaper than most places in this category. The host and the chef were both very kind and welcoming. I'll certainly be coming back. read more

My wife and I met our friends here for an early dinner. Free parking can be found in the parking lot. Discover is an accepted form of payment. Tabs are settled at the front counter, not at the table. There is very minimum waiter service here. Buffet style dining is the only option here. When we arrived at 4:30pm this place was empty. When we left at 6:30pm, this place was packed. Due to the large open grill cooking method, there is an ever persistent cloudy haze in the air. This haze permeates everything so be prepared to leave smelling like what you just dined on. Towards the end of our dining experience, I was becoming quite irritated by the constant and obnoxious banging of the chef's metal spatulas against the metal grill. My wife and I opted for the all-you-can-eat for $12.50: unlimited times through and a small serving of soft serve ice cream. Bottled beer and wine are also available. My wife chose an Alaskan Amber and I chose a Singha for $3.50 each. The buffet counter consisted of three types of noodles (spaghetti, yakisoba and rice), a variety of fresh vegetables, fried gyoza, thinly sliced meats and multiple sauces. I was pleased to see that most of the meat was frozen in order to avoid spoilage. The counters were actually pretty clean (not by the time we left though); however, many of the tongs were greasy. Handling all the tongs after so many others gave me high anxiety so I was extremely pleased to see a huge bottle of hand sanitizer located at the cooking station for me to use while my food was being prepared. Rice is offered as each meal is being plated. I declined the rice since I already had noodles. There is another station of prepared/finishing sauces to choose from if desired once each meal has been plated. This station was supposed to also consist of Miso Soup which was never ready/available during our entire visit. Although my wife and I each enjoyed our creations, they were each slightly burntt. Not enough to throw away but enough to not be fully satisfied. When we ordered our second round of beers we were asked if we wanted ice cream. The ice cream that was delivered was a nice sized swirl and tasted exactly like McDonald's vanilla soft serve. Staff was pretty much non-existent (we had to flag down for another beer round). While they had a good range of choices and the flavor was good, upon coming off the grill my vegetables were completely raw still. Like I just picked them up off a veggie tray raw. My baby corn was actually cold inside still. On top of that the place was dirty. Our table was sticky, there were brown splatters of idk what on the wall, and the handles for the meat tongues were wet and gross. I just moved to California, and one thing I'm most upset about is leaving this restaurant behind. My family and I have been coming here since it first opened, and love it! The staff is always super friendly, quick to help, and very efficient at their jobs. I have a family member allergic to shellfish, and the staff always makes sure to use different procedures when grilling to avoid cross contamination. It's buffet style, so you can add whatever you'd like. They've got three different types of noodles (yakisoba, rice, and another I can't recall), a variety of veggies, several different meats and tofu (beef, chicken, etc.), and a variety of sauces you can combine. Food is grilled quickly, in about 7 minutes or so. With Covid, my family has opted to use their take-out option. When utilizing the take-out option, it's a flat rate, so you can grab as much or little that can fit into their containers. Could not recommend this place more! read more

I thought he meant together just on the plate, not when he grilled it. Also, they kinda burnt my food a bit. I think Hot Iron is super tasty. For $9.99 you get all you can eat dinner, I only can eat one plate, it's super filling! You can't keep leftovers so keep that in mind. This is a really good place to go to for lunch. Check the times as the lunch prices are significantly lower. There is a great deal of variety to choose from the buffet type bar. A multitude of vegetables, meat fish and tofu as well to select from.
