    Condiment station

My friends and I really enjoyed our experience at Pho Thin 13. We stopped by on a busy Friday. Our party of 8 got seated quickly. First thing I noticed was the high ceilings and all of the employees wearing proper uniform. The other thing that stood out was the clean custom wood condiment station. The station includes garlic and green peppers. Highly recommend adding them into your soup. I tried the filet mignon and the Thin special. Every broth was rich and not as fatty as your traditional southern broths. The aromatics and flavors were on point. I'll definitely be back to try their other broth specials and traditional Vietnamese appetizers.

Famous Vietnam pho! I have been seeing so many people talk about this place so I had to come try it. This place was hopping. They have seating to sit quite a number of people, but when we came in around 7PM, it was still pretty packed. They have seating on two levels. The aesthetic is pretty simple. There are some pictures of the pho on the walls and some TV screens, but nothing too fancy. This place is known for their garlic pho. I ordered their P2 special which had sautéed beef with garlic. It was a good pho and the more you consume and drink down, the more garlic-y it gets. Which may not vote will some people, but I really like garlic so I was fine with it. The noodles were a nice good flat wide noodle but definitely were falling apart and hard to grasp with just the chopsticks towards the end. The broth was quite good and I feel like had a lot of flavor. Post dinner I didn't feel like I needed to chug a bottle of water so maybe a little less MSG. I absolutely loved the sides of pickled peppers or pickled sliced garlic that you could add to your bowl. Pretty expensive, with tax and tip, it turned out to be ~$25 for a bowl of pho. Overall, a good bowl of pho I would maybe try the P1 next time or just a normal pho instead of their specials.

I was really craving hot broth and noodles last Friday evening, so I treated myself to dinner out. Pho Thin 13 Lo Duc is a relatively new pho spot in the area (though not in Eden Center!) known for its Northern-style pho, which is much less common than the Southern-style pho found in nearly every plaza around here. I heard it can get pretty busy, but fortunately, I was seated immediately upon arrival, and the server took my order minutes after. P1 THIN SPECIAL - 20.95 This is their house special pho, which comes with a variety of beef cuts like fatty brisket, flank, tendon, and meatballs. Northern-style pho is different -- this was topped generously with crispy fried garlic with wide, flat rice noodles (similar to Cantonese-style). The broth had an intense garlicky flavor -- none of the typical star anise, cinnamon, and other spices in sight. I enjoyed that it tasted different, and it was refreshing to eat this style of pho. The beef was stir-fried generously with garlic to get this deep flavor. However, I got a bit tired of the garlic-forward broth pretty quickly. I felt like it was more garlicky than savory (from the beef), which became too overpowering. Overall, the portion of noodles were small, but good amount of meat. Pretty pricy for a bowl of pho, so I probably won't go back any time soon. I'm not opposed to ordering pho here in the future -- I genuinely loved the wide, flat noodles which were perfectly chewy.

Phở tái lăn truyền thống (Thìn Signature: Wok-Seared Ribeye with Garlic)

I was intrigued by a Hà Nội phở place in the DMV for something different, but the price of the meal and my pickiness will delay my return. I got the phở tái lăn truyền thống (Thìn Signature: Wok-Seared Ribeye with Garlic). I found the broth was not simple and clear at all which I thought was more northern style. They did get the more savory broth down though. It was rather heavy due to the wok seared ribeye and the remnants of its fat and oil adding a thickness I am not fond of. I like the thick noodles, but I think it was slightly overcooked as the strands were broken and reminded me more of bánh canh without the chew. The spring onions were abundant. There was a plate of mung bean sprouts, thai basil, lime, and jalapeño but I believe traditionally for the northern style, those are not typical but you can skip out or add depending on how you like it. Same goes for the sriracha and hoisin. It was fun pairing the giò cháo quẩy (fried donut/crullers) with the phở, but I wish the pieces weren't cut so small. Due to the soft opening there are a few menu items not available such as fruit juices (I had tried to order the passionfruit juice) as well as the fried taro. An interesting experience but I will hope more Hà Nội phở places will open up so I can compare them to one another rather than what I am familiar with. I do want to admit that I had forgotten about the garlic vinegar and chili, but that wouldn't have made a difference in the broth thickness or the soft & short noodles.

A new pho spot in town featuring the wider Northern Vietnamese style noodles. The food was good overall, though nothing particularly standout, and the prices felt a bit expensive for what was offered. The service could use some refinement. We visited during the soft opening, and only the smaller dining area was open instead of the larger window seating section. While I understand they may have been limiting seating during the opening phase, using the larger area would have made the space feel less cramped. The staff also seemed to be struggling with managing the flow of service. We had to raise our hands several times to request items, which made us feel somewhat overlooked. Despite the large overall space, the layout does not seem very accommodating for strollers or larger groups.

I kept hearing so much about Pho Thin on social media, so had to stop by when I was in the area. I visited during their soft opening, so the menu and hours were limited. I expected to have a long wait, but we were seated pretty quickly. The hostess was so kind to seat us in an area that could accommodate our stroller. This restaurant is much bigger than most pho restaurants I've visited, so there are lots of tables and even a bar area. The space is clean, large, and echos a bit, so noise feels amplified. I ordered the signature pho and also tried the fried bread sticks and egg rolls. The pho broth is delicious. The broth and style of pho noodles are different from what I usually have in Nova. The broth was piping hot and very savory, and the noodles are wide. The pho was especially good if you add the pickled garlic and peppers that are available at each table. The egg rolls were good, but the filling was a little dry. I do like that they used the rice paper I'll for the egg rolls skin. The fried breadsticks were ok - Interesting to dip in the pho, but didn't do much for me. The service was excellent. Staff regularly came to check on us and were happy to get us anything we needed. I would definitely return again, and look forward to trying their full menu.

This is our first time trying northern pho and it was quite good! The thick noodles were different, the broth was very clean and tasty. They offer pickled garlic and peppers instead of sate/chili oil. Both were good. We ate them on the side, didn't add them to the pho. The restaurant ambiance was very nice- new, modern, high ceilings, good Vinahouse music.

Oh My Goodness. I do not think I've ever started a yelp review this way. I was blown away by Pho Thin. I absolutely love pho and could eat it every day. After hearing the hype, I went to try Pho Thin and was not disappointed. What makes Pho Thin unique is their method of stir frying the beef. I questioned this at first but realized this method adds a ton of flavor. I would definitely not go at peak times right now because they usually have an hour wait. This is understandable due to their soft opening phase. I went on a Sunday morning and had maybe a 10 minute wait. Inside was definitely a bit more fancy than your typical pho restaurant and was very clean. I have been craving it and will definitely be coming back soon with more friends.

Soft opening is always so exciting! We tried as much as we can from the signature pho to the classic, spring roll, summer roll and the ice coffee. Ambiance, service, food quality are all great! It is refreshing to have a new pho place in the area. The broth is light and flavorful. Some commented the meat in the signature was less than expected but not the case for the other pho. I am excited for the full opening and full menu. I highly recommend, the prices are definitely comparable!

A new and different (Northern style) pho spot. Still fairly new and therefore, several areas to improve upon. The pho comes out not boiling hot. Which is fine but any rare meat doesn't cook properly in the broth. Per the staff, noodles are made fresh daily and therefore that's why the noodles are in child-size pieces. Not sure fresh noodles are chopped up like this anywhere. The kitchen seems to be challenged to keeping up - expect a wait. Note - bean sprouts come steamed. On the positives, the meats are much better quality than normal pho restaurants. The stir fried beef special was unique. There was a decent amount of veggies in the bowl, but not as much as traditionally in Vietnam. The broth tastes clean but flavorful. Separately, like the bumpin house music playing! Word is certainly already out. We dined on a Tuesday night and it was packed.

Phở Thìn 13 Lò Đúc, located at Graham Park Plaza in Falls Church, offers Northern-style Hanoi pho and a variety of noodle soups and rolls. The highlight is Pho Dac Viet (house special pho), with wok-seared garlic beef and wide, chewy noodles. We visited on a Sunday for lunch, and the restaurant was very busy with a long wait, demonstrating its popularity. All the dishes we tried were excellent. Both noodle soups feature wide, flat, and chewy Northern-style noodles instead of thin rice vermicelli, and we highly recommend: - Pho Thìn Special: Wok-Seared Ribeye with Garlic, Fatty Brisket, Flank, Tendon, and Meatballs. The broth is rich and savory, with a distinct garlic and roasted flavor, complemented by green onions. Very tasty, similar to Korean Galbitang. - Short Rib Pho: Braised Short Rib, Rare Ribeye, and Meatballs in a flavorful, hearty broth. An excellent, satisfying, and filling noodle soup. - Summer Rolls: Shrimp, Vermicelli, Lettuce with Peanut Sauce, two large pieces. The peanut sauce is excellent, and the portion size offers good value. - Crispy Spring Rolls: Pork, Shrimp, Carrot, Taro, Mushroom, Shallot, Noodles, deep-fried for a crunchy outside and served with a dipping sauce that enhances the flavor. - Iced Vietnamese Phin Coffee with Condensed Milk: Robust and sweet, a signature of Vietnamese coffee.

I have been waiting to try out this place after hearing it will open in VA. This is their soft opening weekend and I'm surprised how busy it is. First it took about 30 minutes to get a table. I really like how open and airy the restaurant is. There are plenty of tables here. The staffs here all wear black so it's easier to ask them for help if you need. There is a person that take your order with the portable device. They only offer pho and a couple of appetizers only. No Entrees yet. As expected, it did take awhile to get the pho. So you will need to be patience. What I can tell is the broth is so rich and flavorful. I didn't even put hoisin because it's perfect. The meats are flavorful, not bland. Even their noodle is different here. Overall, I was not disappointed at all. I can see the Pho75 faithfuls might migrate across the street to here. My advice is if you do come here for the next month or so, be patience. If you are with a group of family members, bring Monopoly or something to kill time while you wait for your food. I want to try their Short Rib next time I'm back.

Over priced. Not worth it for the $20 bowl. The noodles were over cooked, broken and sparse. I've had better pho for less.

The space itself is roomy, casual and comfortable, with tables spaced and seated far enough apart to not feel crowded. We started with the pork and taro spring rolls, which came out hot, cut in half, and impressively crispy! We've been eating this sauce for over a decade and it never gets old. If you love bold, authentic flavors, this alone is worth the visit. The consistency in food quality, the authentic flavors, the warm hospitality - all of it has kept us coming back year after year. Folks at a Banh Mi shop recommended Hai Duong. We were not disappointed. The location is on the smaller side, and the entrance is hard(er) to find (it's inside the shopping center). But the food did not disappoint.

So I'm updating my review because it's well deserved! I have started ordering from Hai Duong through Uber Eats again in the last year and so much improvement! The food arrives fast, hot, and with very generous portions. They are definitely not stingy like I had experienced in the past. I love it when businesses take feedback to be better. In the last year, we usually order the Mi Nam Vang and Mi Bo Kho, and both are consistently excellent. This past weekend, we finally decided to eat at the restaurant in person at Eden Center, and it was just as good as when we order delivery. The guy seating people was very polite and friendly, and our food came out pretty quickly. We ordered the Bun Mam and Mi Nam Vang, and both were amazing. Everything tasted fresh and came out super hot, which I love. There are plenty of condiments on the table if needed, but honestly the broth is so flavorful that you do not really need them. They also give a great portion of protein, which I really appreciate. The place was packed and clearly very popular, and I can see why. I will definitely continue to support Hai Duong and hope they get even more business. And I appreciate that they got so much better compared to during COVID times, Great work, Hai Duong!
