Every time I walk by this place, it is packed. So I decided to give it a try and it did not disappoint. If you're looking for authentic Vietnamese food, this is it. The banh cuon (their signature) is made fresh when you order. It is so soft and the toppings work so well with it. The bun rieu (crab noodle soup) has so many variations so it looks like they specialize in this dish too! It tastes great and I can taste the crabmeat (most places don't give you crabmeat). There was about a 20 minute wait after putting our name on the waitlist. You can just walk around and do some groceries shopping to pass the time. Then for soups tried bun bo hue and bun rieu. Both soups tasted a bit watered down, but decent flavor overall. The bbh I wouldn't get here, better spots in eden for it. We had visited the Eden Center a few times when we were in the Washington area. This place is hidden inside one of the mall areas of the center and you might even miss it. The restaurant had about 8 tables to dine in and specialty is banh cuon. They also have other dishes like broken rice with grilled meat and rice vermicelli. Of course I had to order what they are known for which is the banh cuon. I ordered the specialty dish of banh cuon with the Vietnamese pork roll slices with fried dough shrimp. When it came out, I thought it was going to be alright but it was better than expected. The rice rolls had different fillings that included dried shrimp and pork meat. They also leave extra fish on every table if you want more sauce. My daughter who is 16 had the rice vermicelli and she said its the best egg rolls she tasted. According to my wife the rice dice was pleasantly good as well. Overall, if you are at the Eden Center give this place a try instead of the main ones on the strip to try something new. My go-to spot for lunch or dinner at Eden Center! It's down the hall in the corner of the indoor shopping area and across from a hair salon. Like the other restaurants in the area, it's casual and not too big. There's always diners inside when I go, but I'm regularly able to get a seat when I walk in. I don't think I've ever had to wait for a table. The staff is very nice and quick to take your order. Usually it doesn't take me too long to figure out what I want. Although their menu has quite the variety, my usual order is the combination steamed rice rolls. It's a delicious and filling meal of rice rolls filled with steamed pork and shrimp. If I'm not feeling that, I always go for the soups, either the Bún bò Huế or Bún Mắm. Every meal I've had is a big portion. The food always comes out quickly. Banh Cuon Saigon is one of the food stalls located in the 6795 building; once you enter, just go straight to the exit area, and it's located to your right. I was looking for fresh rice rolls, or bánh cuốn, to include in a KBBQ meal; I checked some of the snack shops and the bakeries, but they didn't sell them; one kind lady told me about Banh Cuon Saigon and directed me there, as I would have luck with that restaurant. When I stepped in, there were other patrons who were deliciously slurping away some hearty soups. I spoke with the kind employee up at the cashier, and asked her if they sold fresh rice rolls without any of the fillings; she said, "Yes!" I was elated! I ordered the plain ones, and she asked if I would like veggies with it; since they already came with, she suggested to get these on the side, which would also come with hot sauce and fish sauce. Due to steaming, I waited for about 10 minutes or so; everything was packed nicely, and the whole experience was super easy. While the rice rolls themselves were more thinner than I expected, I was so glad to find fresh versions quickly! 1/22/23 Today I recieved a double surprise upon coming here. The Chinese New Year which is till going on outside and inside this mall. The second surprise is finding this restaurant when our number one choice of restaurant was closed due to how busy it is. The added bonus is Someone from Organic Nail Bar saw me and remember me. I believe Thano is her name. She is one of the owners of the nail shop and does outstanding work along with her sister Alex. This restaurant was very busy, but we were able to get in without having to wait. I was in the mood for the Golden Pancake and Spring Rolls. These are not the names the restaurant calls them, but they are easy names to remember and the server will most likely know what you are talking about. Both orders I received were stacked full of greens. Some greens I did not eat. Nevertheless, the food was delicious. The whole time we were eating, the sounds of the dancing dragons could be heard. The Dancing Dragons did ho into some of the shops where managers from other store stopped by to donate money and get their pictures taken. Some people I saw outside during the fireworks and dragon dance ended up stopping and grabbing a bite to eat. This includes the woman and her family honking her horn at me while waiting for a parking spot. As they say, "Its A Small World after all." I haven't been to Eden Center since before the pandemic, but I knew I wanted some good Bahn Cuon. Also, I wanted a different Vietnamese dish as the options near our house mainly consist of Pho, Bun, or Com Tam dishes. Bahn Cuon Saigon is literally a hidden gem. It's in the back of its building in Eden Center. It's very casual inside. But the food is authentic and so so good! It's been the go-to place for fresh Bahn Cuon in my family since before I was born. I came here with my mom who also has not been here in a few years. The owner still remembered her on our visit even though it's been a while-- there's something so charming about that which I love! We ordered the Banh Bot Lac (Chewy Pork and Shrimp Dumplings), Cha Gio (Vietnamese Crispy Egg Rolls), Bahn Cuon Dac Biet (Combination Steamed Rice Rolls), and Tra Da (Unsweetened Jasmine Iced Tea). The Banh Bot Lac was so yummy. The dumplings were super fresh and chewy, and the shrimp inside was nice and crunchy. The dish has a nice textural contrast. I drenched it in nuoc mam (fish sauce) and it tasted heavenly. The Cha Gio was good but not amazing. The egg rolls aren't the best I've ever had, and they were on the greasier side. However, I might be biased in saying this, but Vietnamese egg rolls are definitely the best egg rolls. For the most part, they're always good and you can't go wrong ordering them. The Bahn Cuon Dac Biet was delicious and fresh. It has a little bit of everything from their bahn cuon dishes. I also drenched it in the nuoc mam and it tasted heavenly. The Tra Da was also good. It's perfect for drinking with a Vietnamese meal on a hot summer day. Overall, Banh Cuon Saigon is a hidden gem in Eden Center. Long overdue review. Easily my go-to place to get some excellent Vietnamese crepes (banh cuon), which are one of my favorites. I have been going here for over 20 years. They now have new menus with photos which I love! My favorite entree is the Combination Steamed Rice Rolls (Banh Cuon Saigon). It will fill you up! The grilled pork is delicious! Try their drinks! The coconut juice is so fresh and Vietnamese iced coffee (cafe sua da) is a nice pick-me-up to get you through the day. The staff is always so friendly. Also great for to-go orders when you want something healthy. They also offer vegetarian options. The restaurant is small but bright and clean and renovated. We ordered Bánh cuốn, Gỏi khô bò, and Bún riêu. Bánh cuốn is very authentic and close to what I ate in Sai Gon. Bún riêu is not as good and has a lot of MSG. Gỏi khô bò is not even close to what I ate growing up. Overall, the restaurant is well-decorated and very pleasant to hang out with friends and family. Came here to try out their banh cuon since it's been on my list. Got here when it was around 1:30pm on a Saturday, small space inside the building, so you have about 6ish tables. We got lucky and was able to get one pretty immediately. I got the banh cuon saigon. The banh cuon offers two fillings (combination) shrimp & pork, and it comes with a few banh cong (fried mung bean cake), bean sprouts, cha lua, and herbs. I doused my plate with nuoc mam by the jar at the table and lots of chilie paste. Initial taste it's cold, rather than warm, so they probably prep this ahead of time. The flavor of the nuoc mam was not bad but could use a bit more flavor. The banh cuon was lacking some flavor as well. Banh cong was room tempt and kinda hard. Overall: I think it's pretty average, I wouldn't go out of my way to get it but will satisfy your cravings especially if your mom isn't making it for you. This is my favorite Banh Cuon place on the east coast. The meat to roll ratio is just right (an issue with many other places is having too little meat). Their Nuoc Mam (dipping sauce) is mixed perfectly. In recent years, they have added Banh Bot Loc to the menu and I haven't found a better place for it here in the east coast either. What I absolutely love more about this place is that they give plenty of nuoc nam with the To-Go order - which is super awesome for someone like me who downs nuoc mam like it's water when eating these dishes. I can't speak to the rest of the menu since I haven't tried them but I would assume that they are all pretty good, too.
