Only 5 but I have a bowl of pho with lots of beef, good soup, lots of bean sprouts However I am giving them 3 stars and not gonna come back. Why? I am Vietnamese and they are Vietnamese, too, they servants talk to each other in Vietnamese. I came to the shop and greeted them in our language: Vnese. Time to time they answer me in English though I insisted to ask in Vietnamese. That only show they do not love countrymen. Does it bother other guests or what if they answer me in Vietnamese friendly with an enthusiastic smile? Bonus: I came to their shop ask about what I could enjoy and they pushed the menu book to my face without saying anything, uhm that's not very polite and I hope they would change to be more perfect servants. read more

Update 3/28/2014: We stopped going. Same issues as below but then last time found hair in my food. Deal breaker! it's a shame, they seem to have the right idea but it seems like the manger is greedy and does not staff enough and workers are killing themselves and don't have the time to do things to keep it sanitary. OLD REVIEW 7/10/2009: I used to really like this place but it has gone down a few notches in my opinion. They are very busy and I believe the quality of the food is is still good but not near as it had been in the past. It's the other things that I have noticed over time that bug me. I have on several occasions noticed that tables that placed their order after we did received their food before us. The last time it was table of six, and we were a table of two. That is a bit irritating. Pho should be fast, it is everywhere else but I have waited well over twenty minutes the last several times, and over thirty minutes at least one other time. I know that part of the reason for this is that they are so busy when we go (around 6-7pm) because the food is good, but it's still frustrating and I don't think the food is that out of the ordinary anymore. They also clear the tables with this cart, on it they have with a bucket to pour the uneaten soup/food in and then a few bins for the dirty dishes. There have been a few times when they have that cart right next to me when I am eating, very gross. And once, she ran off to wait on someone and left it in the aisle almost right next to me. When doing this it appears it is to bring food out to be served, and it seems there is not enough time in between when they stop clearing and go back into the kitchen until they come back out with the food that they could possibly be washing their hands in between. I have noted numerous other issues that make me feel uncomfortable with what I cannot see and so this place is just not my favorite hole in the wall anymore. read more

Very good broth. So good, I was a regular at the shop in Greenwood. Heard it got burnt down (-_-) and relocated to 145th (*_*) which is actually closer to me. Yup. I now frequent the new location. The thai iced tea is very tasty. I like the salad rolls as an appetizer. read more

Very good Pho! I always get veggie pho and Pho Tic Tac has lots of veggies in theirs. I was not as impressed with the spring rolls, but they were good just sort of plain. My favorite part of the meal was the coconut juice, it has big pieces of coconut in it! SO good! The service was really good too and the price is very reasonable. I'll be back! read more

If I could give this place a 3.5 stars, I would. Not to say that I didn't enjoy my experience here, it's just that compared to the rest of the Pho establishments here in the Seattle area, they aren't exactly up to par in terms of taste. While the broth they use is relatively free of oil/grease (& fortunately, don't have the MSG-laden taste some "cheaper" establishments like to use), it was much sweeter than I expected. The biggest issue I had with their pho was the bo vien (meatballs.) The meatballs are too soft, and appear to be of the cheaper variety. They aren't hearty, and taste salty and the texture makes it seem that they are the kind you purchase dried and expand in hot water. I won't be ordering Pho w/ bo vien here again. Now for a slight-upside, the pricing here is the best in the Shoreline area. A super bowl/extra-large here is almost the same price as one would expect for a small or medium at another restaurant (~$7.00) However, there isn't as much food in the XL bowl as one would expect. I felt as if I was paying for my food to be served in a larger bowl. A slight price:food ratio dilemma here.... To end on a good note, service is very efficient and attentive. I have been to over 20 pho places and this place has one of the better soups and generous portion of the combo meats. Everything here is competitively priced and two bowls of pho cost less than 14$. I don't live nearby but it is always worth the drive. I always get the #24. read more

Very good pho, fresh veggies and great spring roll. I like lean, tender steak, and this fit the bill. The steak wasn't as good as Pho Mignon in Kirkland, but better than most. I like the black pepper sprinkled on top of the soup, and mine was served with lemon instead of lime, which made it interesting :) read more

Best Pho soup in Town! Love their soups & my husband's and my most favorite pho joint in the area!! We'd tried cheating on them with other pho places, but always find ourselves coming back here. Prices are reasonable, staffs are always super friendly, food tastes awesome when we crave some Pho, we go only there. Always very satisfying. The service was decent with average waiting time and attention. The Pho broth itself was good and the portion and price is comparable to other joints. Don't let the location food you, this Pho is good. We came in for Sunday dinner -- they are open every day until 9:00 PM, even on Sundays!-- and we were pleasantly surprised to see quite a full house. We were seated right away and brought waters and menus. We ordered the fresh Spring Rolls, Pho with Rare Beef (No. 23) and Pho with Rare Beef, Tripe, etc (No. 24). Everything came out quickly. The Spring Rolls were OK, the peanut sauce didn't have much flavor so we added some of their house chili sauce to it (which is very good and spicy!). The rolls were a good size. Both Pho's were very good. The broth was excellent and there was a lot of those good cartilage pieces. The food was tasty and quite affordable. The service was great at first but toward the end, we didn't receive water refills and I had to wait for a bit to ask for a to-go box. If we had received more water, I would give four stars. I will come back and try more of their menu. I'm glad to know that we have a Pho place close by. read more

Great stuff! Pho broth is full and rich, with decent, non fatty meat; very nice grilled meat & rice dishes too. Bun noodles have decent, if slightly oily cha gio egg rolls, very tasty. A good bet if you're stuck out here in these northern 99 woods. read more

Great hole in wall to get your pho fix. We live 5 minutes away so we come here all the time. Service is quick but food can take a little longer when it's busy. Prices are very fair ($5 for a small, $6 for a large and less than $1 for extra noodles). The meat is decent but can be in the fattier side. This is for sure my favorite place for pho. My friends and I come here all the time and its got a good atmosphere. The food is always delicious, and there is more than enough of it even when you order a small bowl. My nieces are young, 9 and 2, and they just love it too. It is very kid friendly. The service isn't always the best however. They will bring your food, and then you may not see them again. If you do happen to flag one down and ask them for something as simple as water, they will go off, and have often forgotten to get what we request. Other times they are very attentive. I stick to their pho (which is deeeelish and affordable) but I have tried their pad thai (ok) and the combo rice plate (good but not a total bang for your buck). Eggrolls are meh. For anything but pho I would go to Le's. But Tic Tac has hands down the yummiest pho and broth in town!!! I put lime and mint leaves and some hoisin - yummers! Their veggie pho is yummy too! I have always driven by this place assuming that this hole in the wall Americanized named pho joint wasn't worth checking out. Maybe there's a real meaning behind the name, don't hate, haha. Finally decided to check it out as I'm on the hunt for a decent pho place in the northgate/ shoreline area, that serves rice plates, good pho, and accepts credit card. This place was way bigger than it looks outside. The crimson red and black color scheme made it look a step up from your usual pho joint. It seems like it's always packed when I come in! The food was excellent. Ordered a rice plate. I was sold on the add a fried egg for $1! I also added the cup of wonton soup. Which was really good. I was surprised. The staff is super friendly. Yum yum yum! I'll start by saying that I had only had Pho maybe once or twice ever before coming into Pho Tic Tac. My fiancé and I went a few nights ago because he had a craving and I said, sure, why not? Let's try something new. We started with veggie crispy spring rolls and he ordered vegetarian pho and I ordered the lemongrass chicken. The spring rolls were crispy, as ordered, light and delicious and not at all greasy. The waitress brought around a dish with fresh basil, lemon, sliced jalapeno peppers and bean sprouts as garnish for our meals. We waited a bit, but then the restaurant was pretty busy for a Thursday night, but oh, when the food arrived! So good! My lemongrass chicken was spiced perfectly, sweet and savory at the same time, enough rice to soak up the sauce and an array of vegetables that were cooked just right - not too soft and mushy and not too crispy. My fiancé's pho came in a huge bowl, definitely enough for leftovers, with plenty of veggies and noodles, and spicy enough to bring tears to his eyes - a good thing! We savored the meal, and finally asked for the check - two meals (with plenty for lunch) and an appetizer - a very good deal at only $20. Leftovers a couple days later were still as delicious and reheated quite well, which is much better than I can say for leftovers from some other restaurants. I would say the decor and location of this place aren't too exciting and the service is a hint slow, but those would be the only negatives. The food was plentiful, healthy and just delicious! Living in the University District for 4 years, I haven't had any good pho while in college. I'm from Las Vegas and there is some BOMB authentic pho down in the Southwest, but I have yet to find anything close in the 206. After eating at Pho Tic Tac, I can safely say that my hope for authentic Vietnamese food to exist in a large Asian-populated city is fulfilled. The feel, the food, everything about this place is great. I haven't tried any of their non-pho dishes as I am a a die-hard pho lover but the pho is 200% solid. ALSO!!! Try the owner's self-created Two-In-One roll - it's basically an egg roll wrapped in a spring roll. Arrived their recommended 20 minutes for it you be ready, waited an additional 10 minutes but they confessed they didn't put our order into the kitchen until we got there and said nothing until we asked how much longer we had to wait. However it only took 5 mins for the food to be ready. The icing on the cake was the owner (I presume) brought it out to my car after seeing that I was traveling with a baby. Took my 9 year old to Pho Tic Tac for dinner here a few weeks ago and at the end of drinking the soup broth she says, "Mom, there are bugs in my soup". Sure enough, at the bottom of her bowl are 3 dead bugs (looked like gnats). I immediately take the bowl up to the front counter and the woman working proceeds to tell me that they flew in while we were eating. She says they float on top of liquid not sink to the bottom?! Excuse me??? I would DEFINITELY notice bugs flying around our dinner table and ESPECIALLY if they flew into our food! Maybe they were dead in the broth and the rice noodles, meat and vegetables held them down until the bowl was empty?! She said she would discount the meal but because the pho was eaten, she can't give it to us for free I'm so disgusted with the customer service at Pho Tic Tac! I will NEVER go back. Be very careful eating there because you have no idea what's at the bottom of the bowl until you've consumed it all. I'm so mad I didn't take a picture. I was so mortified I just paid and left. The price is fantastic for the portion. You honestly can't beat $5 for a bowl of pho...but then again... Apparently this place is quite the pho hotspot in Seattle. I am not exactly sure why, maybe my pho wan't up to par with some of these reviews. I ordered pho with beef steak. In my experience, I've had better. The beef was tender . The broth on the other hand-- mehh. It tasted watery. Secondly, the glass water. Ohhh, the taste of chemicals were soooo strong. It was like drinking tap water. Recommended to me by a native Korean....mmm pho is a vietnamese beef noodle broth soup that's hearty and just right for breaking through a Seattle winter grey. Generous portions...I can never get my other half to skip the extra vegetables, he's just healthy like that. There 'rare beef' is not bloody like at some pho places, it is cooked. I struck out and tried the tripe and tendon combo soup (to be a little exotic) and I like the chewy texture of lungs although he didn't but I still prefer what seems more rewarding and seems healthing: just straight of thin sliced beef. For newbies: do NOT eat the jalapenos, it's ok to put them in the soup for flavore but the thinly sliced green peppers are HOT! Or just tell them you don't need them. As always, beautiful fresh basil leaves accompany your pho soup. White yummy noodles. The stock (the most important part) is clearly homemade and not too salty like it is at some..it is also very flavorful where some pho soups are too watered down. Four stars for the decor and lack of comfy booth seating which I prefer. The decor is actually pretty nice given the price...burgundy walls I think. I'd like a place where there is communal seating too. Also service is a bit aloof which we have come to joke about since it's so predictably a cultural thing. Yet I always wonder if it means that the front line workers aren't being paid enough. Hope that's not the case because they are fast and accurate. If you needs something they are on it. So glad to have this haven of healthy warming soup available...a special treat for a night off cooking or when you are suffering from a head cold. Right across from the 145th St Shoreline post office. Think of bringing some pho beef noodle soup home as an act of love. They are great about packing it up to go: you will have all the ingredients and just as big of portions. For only $8 you can feed two people with steamy hot yummy soup...so love this place. I think I've been there about six times at least...at one point this was our weekly date spot. Definitely a great budget eat for those wanting to get out and eat healthy but delicious. Has an easy to find red sign and its own parking lot next to a sketchy casino. Not sure how safe this area (Aurora Ave.) would be late at night but the walk to your car is quite short. I had an AMAZING experience here last night! I've driven by here often and told myself I wanted to try their food, and I am glad that I did. I've tried other pho places in shoreline and up and down Aurora ave and this is by far the best prices, best quality of food, and best service I've had so far. The service was quick, we were sat immediately and ordered quickly too. I had chicken pho and it was pretty damn good, my boyfriends pho (their signature pho) was good too. I would've liked more vegetables in the soup, like the onion pieces but there was a lot of chicken and the noodles were really good and cooked perfectly. I was overall really happy with the soup. My boyfriend said the brisket was a weird texture, but that the soup was overall good. We also ordered egg rolls which were really awesome, I would totally recommend getting them. Their prices are super affordable!!! The appetizers are double the price for the same amount of food other places, i applaud them for providing inexpensive meals for people while still giving amazing quality delicious meals. Everything on the menu is so cheap, 5.95 for a large pho? 2.95 fried tofu?, can't complain about the great value this restaurant provides. It's a little dirty, but for those prices it's expected. We used to frequent Pho Tic Tac and loved it but I began having some issues with place that I have not been able to get over. Initially I was disturbed when I started noticing missing ceiling tiles, baseboard moldings falling off, and floors that did not seem as though they had been cleaned in months. It was just sort of unappetizing. Couple that with forgotten or incorrect orders and my disappointment grew. The last straw was partially not their fault (nasty used condom in the parking lot----granted it is Aurora but one should at least keep their property clean) and then we found a partial plastic wrapper in our Pho. My appetite was gone. Their food is good, and pricing is good, but I can no longer be there without cringing from past experiences. To improve their service I would suggest the following: spend more time cleaning the restaurant inside and out. That small improvement would go a long way and very likely win me back. read more

The food is good and always hits the spot. Excellent authentic Vietnamese food at extremely reasonable prices. They cook their pho broth overnight and it's the best in north Seattle by far. Their vermicelli is top notch and great takeout, I always ask for extra peanuts. They also have Vietnamese coffee and boba tea for really good prices. Their broth is fantastic! And the price? Just right! 4.95 for a 'small' bowl of pho. The small is a perfect size. I'm so full after eat just a small bowl! The only down side to them is when they're busy, you'll maybe see your waiter once. And you better oder EVERYTHING you want right when you walk in or you'll be waiting forever just to ask if you could order a bubble tea to go. When my pho lunch buddy and I walked into the place, we felt slightly underdressed . . . . despite being next to the seedy casino next door, the inside of the place was Tic Tac Ph-ancy! At first, I was thinking, "Awwwww, sheeeit. This is THAT pho place that charges waaay too much for their craptastic pho." Good LAWD I was glad I was wrong! Their menu has a lot of VERY reasonably priced pho dishes and beyond. Ooh! Ooh! Ooh!!! Do you ever look at the apps and think, "Gawd, I don't wanna be THAT pig that orders spring rolls AND egg rolls . . . I guess I'll just get the spring rolls so I don't feel like a total fat ass." Wait? That's just me? Well anyways, they have egg rolls. . . . . waaait for it . . . . INSIDE OF SPRING ROLLS! That's reason enough to come by :) But yes, their pho is definitely super delish and fantastic and the basil/lime/sprouts dish was very fresh and wonderful AND it's super wicked cheap!
