Stopped by with a coworker on our break. I ordered a small brisket pho. It was good, but not worth $15! There were 4 small slices of beef in my soup and noodles- very disappointed in how bare it was. The service was good, and restaurant it's cute and quaint. The food is good but for the price of pho (which is what I usually get) and the amount you receive, I don't think I'd be back. Finally a place with legit Vietnamese eggroll and pho. The steak brisket pho is very good, same with the vermicelli. The ambience is authentic and clean. The bathroom is very clean. The service is excellent they are very kind and gracious. Do be patient because it seems that there are only two of them, but the food is worth the wait. The people who work here are nice and the food is okay, so I feel bad writing this review. This little restaurant is tucked into a strip mall off the freeway in Mountlake Terrace. We've ordered pho from them a few times and last night I decided to order an appetizer as well. I got the grilled lemongrass tofu. It's partly my fault for not reading that there were three pieces in the order, but I was shocked when I opened the box and there were three tiny pieces of tofu in it. They may look large in the photo I took, but that is a close up next to a spoon on top of rice that I added to the bottom of the bowl. They were tasty - but not tasty enough to pay $8.30 for. The veggie pho was $16.55 for a large yet it came in a regular sized container. I know times are tough and the cost of everything is up. But I can't justify paying this much for one meal. This place is close to home so there's a chance we'll eat here again - but we won't be ordering anything but pho, and only if there are no other options. read more

One of the better locations compare to other area. I like coming here for a quick grab of Pho noodle soup when its cold rainy day and etc. The pho here are good nothing to hype or turn down. The service are quick and you get your food out fairly quickly as well! The price is right here as well. It didn't go up much. I usually comes here once a while. This place was horrible. Worst service I have ever encountered! It was 4:30pm, on 12/19/2023, the place was emptied. I was the only one there sitting at the table. 5 minutes went by and no one even went over to greet me or to even serve me ice water. I looked at them and they say "wait". 3 guys was just sitting there, talking in Vietnamese and laughing. VAPING in the restaurant also! After another 5 minutes, I just stormed off! Do not come here! This is a review of the banh mi. My husband went here for the first time after a meeting. He had their pho and he says it's 7/10. He decided to order a couple of banh mi's (chicken and a pork) to go for our kids after they got off from school. All I can say, thank God I had planned to make some fajitas (prior to knowing him wasting money on just getting "bread") for them since for sure there was more meat and sides in their meal that I made than what he came home with. Seriously, why put banh mi on the menu and you get nothing? I couldn't even tell which was chicken or pork...where is the jalapeno or pate but of course, the obvious..where's the meat?? If we wanted vegetarian...this was kind of "it" This is so not what banh mi should be...sorely disappointed . This Pho Tran need some adjustments but all the dishes we tried are above average. I love that they didn't over cooked the Pho Noodle. One thing that I really like is their deep fried egg rolls (the flavor is quite good) even though the sauce is slightly different from most other places ). So first I thought the sauce need to be stronger in flavor but for very good flavor of Char Gio (Egg Rolls) you don't need sauce to be strong so you can really enjoy flavor of stuffs in the egg rolls. read more

It's very hard to find a good Vietnamese restaurant that serves a good bowl of pho this far north. Normally you'd have to go to the International District for authentic dishes so I was pleasantly surprised how good their pho is! Apparently this place is under new management. So many red flags: - Broth is very fatty. They didn't do a good job separating the fat from the broth. Also taste was not right - The noodles were cooked waaaay too early and they were stuck with each other, and even the hot broth couldn't separate them - Banh mi with a tiny filling and mostly bread gave us stomach ache. I think they store precooked food for a long time in the fridge. There were only 2 people working, but the menu was quite big. So I am guessing they have many precooked and frozen food. Nothing was fresh. Believe me, I know what was freshly prepared and what was not - The sauces on the tables were almost empty and the bottles and jars were very dirty. They didn't have any customers when we came, so I think they just don't care about the customers . I would understand if they were super busy and didn't have time to refill the jars and bottles - When some other customers left, they cleaned the table right away and took the dirty dishes to the kitchen and just rinsed them very quickly. Small little pho/Vietnamese restaurant in a little strip mall. The tables and floors are clean, but the walls are dusty and the decor dated and stale. The pho broth was very hot and tasty enough. It has a bit of a sweet edge but not overpowering. The sprouts were fresh and I was given a large stem of basil, but only a single jalapeño slice. The meat seemed like it was cut from a meat roll, not like a piece of beef. Given all those qualifications, it was still a decent bowl of pho. I am not a Pho expert but I do like it. And I've been to five or six places in the region. I would say I have had better Pho at other places. The broth was good, but not delicious. The meat was extra thin, and not much of it. This is the ONLY Pho place I've ever been to that doesn't give you any jalapeno slices. I did ask if they had hot tea and was told no. Then another table sat down and ordered hot tea and got it. I looked on the menu and there is hot tea. The price to me seemed to be high. Just a medium Bowl was $10.55 all by itself. This is a vegetarian pho review. Do not bother if that's what you're looking for. I don't think they really have a vegetarian pho, even though it's on the menu. I'm nearly certain that they simply boiled water and added the soup add ins to it. In addition, for some reason the vegetarian pho is served with only broccoli and fried tofu, and rice noodles. So the soup I was served literally tasted like broccoli water, not even salted. No soy sauce on tables, so I had to ask for it and make a concoction of sauces to give the soup flavor so I could eat it. I can't say that it tasted bad, because noodles and broccoli by themselves don't taste bad. It was simply not a cooked dish at all. It's odd because they have a different noodle soup that apparently has more variety of vegetables, but when I asked to clarify why the pho doesn't, or if they could add more to the pho, or even what that soup was I was unsuccessful. I think the language barrier got in the way. The restaurant was a reasonable, typical asian casual, family owned spot near to hwy. I can't speak for the rest of the menu. I was nearby for an appointment and needed to eat. I went at about 3pm and it was completely empty. Based on this experience I would not go there again to try anything else, because there's no way for me to know that they are actually creating the dishes that are listed on the menu with any degree of coherence. read more

They have like five sizes of pho bowl or something. The whole range of t-shirts--S, M, L, and so on. What's in the bowl is good soup, Maynard. Dark, savory broth--dark, but not hazy or cloudy. Nice chewy noodles. Good flavorful meat, fresh condiments. Makes a great meal. I came in here with low expectations and came out of here neither impressed or disappointed. Pho Tran is located in a mini strip small and they have a $10 minimum for card transactions. After eating unhealthy for the entire day, I was desperate for some relatively-healthy Vietnamese dinner. There was only one young man working the front of the restaurant when I came in an hour before closing. The menu at Pho Tran is composed of Pho, Banh Mi sandwiches, rice plates and a variety of stir-fry dishes. I elected to go with the Combo Rice plate ($9.75) that came with a grilled pork chop, chicken, shrimp and a fried egg. The pork chop tasted a bit dry and the chicken piece was really small. The vegetable garnish was lacking too.There was also no small bowl of broth that accompanied the rice plate. Even though the service was good, the Vietnamese food was not up to par with what you would usually find in California. I don't regret my experience here because the food wasn't inedible at all. I just might search for another Vietnamese restaurant if I find myself in the Mountlake Terrace area in the future. read more

I asked to exchange for a regular Coke and was told that is Coke, it's the new Coke... no sugar, much much better... I ended up with a Pepsi. The Pho was alright... meat was really fatty, and tough, like it was precooked, frozen, and dumped in the broth. The lime slices were good... I was hungry and I seen this strip mall with a small Vietnamese restaurant in the middle of it. One of the signs on the front window said sandwiches. I thought to myself that it's banh mi sandwich time! I went into the restaurant and it was empty.. I ordered the sandwich and it came out in good time. I opened the sandwich and to my dismay I had little to no fixings in the sandwich. It was mostly bun and one carrot, one cucumber slice, an onion piece & some meat that resembled something other than chicken. I smelled it and it didn't smell right but I was hungry so I took a bite.. YUK!!!! I immediately spit it out & threw it away. The meat was chewy and tasted rotten. Never Again!!! I was extremely disappointed with this place and I had high hopes. I don't like writing negative reviews but I hope they read this and really consider it. We were looking to try new bahn mi sandwich places and it was one of the few near by that was open later than usual (I had a late craving) We ordered sandwiches and bubble tea to go. When we got home my brother and mom took a bite and had no meat in the bite, they opened the sandwich and there was less than a palm size of meat spread out in a small line. We were in shock and didn't think it was worth it to keep it and were upset that we spent money so we went back in hopes for a refund. When we arrived she refused to give as a refund for the sandwiches that were bit into and in her words "I can't sell those" I COULD NOT BELIEVE WHAT SHE JUST SAID!!!!!!! I told her when you have a restaurant business you don't reuse food already given to a customer!!!!! She later said she keeps telling the man to put more meat but that all sandwich places are different and they won't do it. She and the man from the kitchen got upset and after 10 minutes of arguing she finally refunded our money with the comment of "this is the last time I do this." my friend's family used to own this place many years ago. a new family has taken over about a decade ago and they've still managed to keep this place going strong. the taste in broth and quality of ingredients have changed. however, this is my mother's favorite Pho restaurant in town. =) service is still awesome- they have expanded the menu a little bit to cater to Banh Mi lovers! the prices have gone up over the years, but who can blame them? =) as i've mentioned- the broth has changed a little, but it's still fragrant, clean and delicious. they do skimp on the portions, so be sure you ask for extra noodles. the summer rolls are the BEST! they add a little crunchiness inside the roll- which i totally LOVE! read more

This is my favorite pho restaurant in the area. They have full flavored broth and delicious noodles. They also don't put weird things in their veggie pho, so if your vegetarian and like pho you should check this place out. Also, try their spring roll appetizers. I have lived in four different states in the past 4 years, and this is, by far, the best pho I've had in any of those places! I always get pho ga with extra noodles. The broth is phenomenal. Pho Tran nursed me through an epic bout with the stomach flu. Once I was feeling a little better, this was all I could eat and my stomach was so happy!
