Came for the pho. It was ok. Early in my meal I was using the red sauce and they cap came off and a ton of sauce spilled in my pho. I spooned most of it out but this pretty much ruined my pho. I did have some though before this happened so that's my real assessment, not the ruined pho. At the end when my waitress came with my bill, I told her what happened and she told me that the cap isn't the correct cap and she's told them that they're mismatching the caps and bottles. OMG! As a self professed pho snob from OC with easy access to Viet food in Westminster, I had ZERO expectations for pho takeout that we chose randomly without even reading the reviews because we were starving during a road trip and it happened to be close to our Airbnb in El Paso. But I can definitely say this might be some of the best pho I've ever had! I'm not sure if it's because Texas takes brisket so seriously, but the quality of the meat in the brisket pho was SO much better than the cheap brisket meat you always get at pho restaurants in LA/OC. The broth was delicious and not oily too :) We also ordered banh mi sandwiches for the road too, and they were still really good the next day! I definitely definitely recommend if anyone is passing through El Paso!! read more

Our family went in for dinner and 4 employees sitting in the front failed to greet us or even acknowledge us. After about 3 minutes we asked the servers if we had to seat ourselves and they replied "we have to sweep a table". We waited an additional 30 seconds while they fumbled around, continuing to ignore us and not giving us any update on a table status. We were very disappointed. This was our first trip to El Paso and we just wanted some decent food before we called it a day. I must say Pho Tre Bein surprised us and we were glad we came here. The place was fairly crowded when we walked in. We always like that! The interiors were good, I wont say great but the ambience is much better than many Asian places I have visited. We ordered a Lychee juice, curry tofu, vegetarian egg roll and fried potato and soy meat. The lady who served us was really sweet! Which really made us feel we were in the right place. The food was extremely flavorful, especially the curry tofu was so yum and comforting. Everyone around was having Pho so I am hoping to come back again for having their pho :) read more

Fantastic classic pho spot that felt like a rare find in this town. I got a small 011 (rare brisket) pho and it still came with a lot of noodles, amazing soup, and plenty of meat. They are also fairly generous with the basil, lime, and bean sprouts, which further lifted the flavor of the broth. Really hit the spot on a chilly evening! If you're not familiar with Vietnamese food, I'd recommend the char-boiled pork vermicelli. worst pho place in El Paso . food is ok but customer service needs revamping. manny their manager on site allows the servers to just seat who they want instead of following the sign up roster. they skipped my party of 3 to serve 2 other parties of 2. I had requested a booth and they had seated the other party of two in booths and told me a had to wait. There was a dirty booth open and instead of cleaning it up the manager manny just sat there looking clueless. foof is not great for poor customer service. I use to come here all the time, it use to be the "best" you can get in the city years ago until Pho 24 on Lee Trevino opened ;) It's ok for El Paso standards, but definitely not the best by any measure. If you want good pho, you'll find one in larger cities like Houston, California or New York that have a larger Asian community. You will taste the difference. At Pho Tre Bien they will give you pho with non pho noodles, and no one realizes this. I was married to Vietnamese man, I know! Vietnamese food was my main diet for 11 years. Each Vietnamese soup has different noodles, pho has thicker flat noodles or thin flat noodles. Spicy beef noodle soup or bun bo hue has thicker round noodles. They actually taste a little different, they are made different as well. Also the garnish they give isn't traditional, they will give the mint leaves and Vietnamese garnish to Asian customers not "westerners" So ask for the mint when you order spicy beef noodle soup or make sure they give you the correct noodles for the soup dish you ordered. read more

I'm disappointed that i just drove over 100mi to stop and eat here. I haven't had any good Vietnamese food in a while. Was really looking forward to dining on the outdoor patio. I was approached with a thermometer. I said "no". I cannot account for whom that has touched. Looked up local regulations. Nothing stating my temp needs to be taken for outdoor service. Local regulations stated employee temps need to be taken. Yet, the young latin female (not the young Asian female) wanted to be pushy with me about complying. Not going to happen. Let her know i would spread the word for her. Called to follow up with manager. Same latin female answered. Claimed there was no manager on site. As a former auditor, i find this interesting. There is always someone left in charge( on site )in case of inspection, and certified to ensure food safety and cleanliness standards are met. read more

I was unimpressed with the food here. I expected flavorful food and received very mediocre food that was flat in seasoning and spice. I love Vietnamese food and this is definitely a first time that I was uninterested in finishing my meal. I ordered the Spicy Beef Soup and shrimp spring rolls. The décor is nice. I was absolutely shocked at how dirty the floors were. It was almost as if there was a torrential downpour outside and people were tracking mud into the restaurant. Unfortunately, it hadn't rained, the floors were just completely disgusting for no reason. The restroom had black tracked marks all over the floor. It reeked of urine and the toilets are old and dirty. The sinks had hair everywhere and there was hair all over the floor. There was an employee taking a phone call in the restroom. She was loud and in the way. The restaurant floor was just as disgusting as the restroom floor. There was hair and old food underneath our table. Unfortunately, I was attempting to pick something up that was dropped (post-meal) and saw the nice collection of hair and food. I also had to take my napkin and clean old food of our table. Or waitress was nice and understanding when the wrong food was ordered and one of us needed to exchange an order. This is my go-to pho joint here in EPTX. I've gotten the spicy beef noodle soup, combination pho, and spring rolls. Large portions and you feel full and happy at the end of your meal. Everything there was extremely flavorful and each dish was paired with tangy pickled and light/fresh vegetables and garnished with beautiful herbs. All dishes were balanced with spices, chilis, and lemons/limes and all the things I had here were very characteristic of most authentic Vietnamese dishes. This is going to be on my rotation of restaurants in the area. 10/10 would 100% recommend. read more

Basing this on the fact that I came in 45 minutes before closing. I got the Pho Dac Biet (#16) Staff - Very friendly. Vegetables/Garnishes - Cilantro and sprouts on my plate was not appetizing. 3/4 of the dish I was given, the cilantro had wilted and gone bad while the sprouts were browned and looked like it had been sitting out for at least the day. Pho (Broth) - This could be because of the time I arrived or it's their version of the broth, but you can definitely tell that it was either 1) near the bottom of the barrel for the broth and it was much more oily and rich having sat the bottom all day OR 2) their broth base is heavy on the use of rich OC/beef bone broth. For those who are Vietnamese, the broth is the most important part of Pho and this was meh. Pho (Ingredients) - There was plenty of vermicelli in the "Large" bowl I got. Again, this might be from them rationing the types of meats they have remaining at the end of the night, but there was way more tripe and 1/4 cut beef balls in there than rare beef flanks and the well done beef cuts. EXTRA CHARGE - Having grown up in Orange County, I've had the best of the best outside of actual Vietnam and have eaten at Pho places around the country in several states. Never have I ever been charged extra for asking for a small serving of onions soaked in vinegar. It was just $1.50 but I thought it was very bad business to charge me without telling me and to do it when industry standards say you don't charge for that. Final Thoughts - Overall, it wasn't a bad bowl of Pho. Especially for where we are in the country (El Paso). With that said, I've definitely had better in the El Paso/Las Cruces area. read more

Love, love, love their Pho... Since Covid we been ordering Take away and the Pho is always Perfect in it's blend of spices. My husband orders the brisket and I order the chicken. Sometimes they are out of chicken, so I order the Tendons. What can say, it's fresh, Tasty and with mung beans, Cilantro, onions and jalapeno slices, once everything is combined, you are ready to eat an Amazing Bowl of Delicious Pho... We order the Pho at least once a week and we never get bored and we even order it in the Summer, we just turn on the AC a little cooler to enjoy that Beautiful Aromatic Broth and all the goodies that go into it. This eatery is one of my absolute favorite locations to eat in my hometown of El Paso. It's a must for me to come in at least once a month for my fix of their yummy fresh food. Their service is always friendly, helpful and welcoming as soon as u arrive. This time we were served by Joy. This afternoon, I came in with my mom, we started our meal with the shrimp spring rolls with a peanut sauce. These spring rolls were made with lettuce, cilantro, basil, rice vermicelli noodle and shrimp wrapped neatly in a rice paper served with the yummy goodness of a peanut sauce. These are so refreshing, you will be craving them. We also ordered our beverages, an ice tea for my mom and the Vietnamese coffee (hot) for me, before I forget to mention this, if ur a coffee lover, as I am, the Vietnamese coffee is soooo goooood and addicting. It puts a smile on my face, just thinking of it. for our lunch meals, my mother ordered the Charbroiled Beef with Vermicelli plate and I ordered the Spicy Beef Soup. The charbroiled beef plate came with marinated flavor beef cook perfectly over vermicelli noodles and salad with a fish sauce to pour over ur noodles and salad, it looked and smelled delicious. Mom had no complaints, she devour it all. I ordered the Spicy Beef Soup, you cannot go wrong with ordering this. The broth is always full of flavor never watered down, you can taste spicy, salty, sour, and sweet flavors in the broth alone. However, this yummy goodness also comes with noodles and beef. The additional refreshing sides that only enhance this soups are cilantro sprigs, mint, bean sprouts, cabbage and a wedges of lime. Either pour them all in ur soup or be selective with ur add ins. In terms of authentic Pho, this is the most flavorful broth you're going to find. I've tried other Pho places in EP and this is by far my favorite broth. Definitely not the MOST authentic pho, but the best I could find here in EP. I'm Vietnamese American, so I know good Vietnamese food. Service: It took us a while to get seated and service was admittedly slow. That's the biggest reason for the star down. It took us around 20 min to get seated and our food took around 30 minutes. The server we had initially was nice, as with the one who ended up taking over. I did find it kind of weird that we weren't warned that we were switching servers - in other establishments the customers are given a heads up and introduction whenever there is a switch. That just caused some minor confusion. Food: I feel like the summer rolls here are pretty dang pricey for how many you get, my opinion. Summer rolls are pretty easy and cheap to make. I got the pho dac biet and my husband just got the beef. Broth was definitely delicious, I enjoyed it. My only complaint is that the broth IS quite oily for pho. I'm just not used to that. I feel like they were a bit stingy on the meat as well, but it's not uncommon for pho places to be that way. I also ordered the soy milk, which is authentic. It was great! A little too much ice, but I can't complain too much. Ambiance: It's a pretty cute setup they have there. They have a covered outdoor area with a fountain that's cute. We didn't get to sit there as it was raining that day. The inside is clean and pretty open and spacious. It was raining pretty hard that day so the room was pretty humid. Great Vietnamese spot in El Paso. I went here with the intention of trying out their Pho and we also opted to add in the curry chicken. Well, both choices were awesome. The ambience is laid back. It has a great outdoor garden area with fountains and I also think some Coy fish. It has been too cold to be outside both times I have gone, but I am sure it is great when the weather is nice. The inside is very laid back with a couple of tvs that are on, but not too loud. Just enough to allow everyones conversations to blend in together. Seating is just small square tables and flat back chairs all around. I have been lucky enough to get the same waiter both times and he seems very attentive. If you happen to order one of their teas, make sure you know what with everything means because otherwise you will get bubbles, "tapioca balls", and they can be somewhat unpleasant in texture if you're not expecting it! Totally love their Thai tea, which is worth a try if you have never had. The pho here has been awesome both times. Very flavorfull and plenty of it, with a nice mix of fresh veggie garnishes. I prefered the regular rice noodle one over the thick rice noodle, even though both were good. The curry chicken is not overly strong in curry flavor and has a sweet underlying taste due to coconut milk being used in the recipe. Delicious! Just make sure you eat it fast if you want it to eat it warm, because it seems too cool very quickly in the large flat bowl the serve it in. Good amount of meat. -Bun Bo Hue (Spicy Beef Noodle soup): My favorite there. The best in town, and pretty authentic but sometimes missing the right types of meat. -A good variety of Viet food. The Not-so-Bad: -Spring rolls: pretty good, but they don't have a shrimp and pork mix. It's either one or the other. -Bun thit nuong (Vermicelli w/ grilled pork): is just OK. Pork is sometimes dry. -Mi Xa Xiu Tom (Egg Noodle soup w/ marinated pork and shrimp: not bad. Nice lean pork, broth was ok. -Ca Kho (Fish in a clay pot): good flavor if they decreased the SALT. -Decor: Pretty cool patio with the Koi pond, etc. But I hate the creepy, depressed paintings surrounding the restaurant. Food: 4 Service: 4 Value: 1 1/2 So I had a craving for pho and since we drove past this place a few times, I decided to try it out. Being from Southern California, I suppose I had some expectations. Externally, the place is like any other restaurant. Similar to the places in Los Angeles, but I walked in and it gave me this weird vibe that it's going to be expensive. I looked at the menu and, yup, my concerns came true. Definitely overpriced. But since I hadn't had a good sit-down place this trip to El Paso, I decided to splurge a little bit. 2 Shrimp spring rolls came with a small amount of peanut sauce. It came... on a boat. I looked around but didn't see T-Pain. The spring rolls were definitely softened (re: Americanized) in order to appease everyone. The bowl came along with a side-plate of herbs, jalapenos, lime, and bean sprouts. I was a little disappointed in the size of the large. Was the regular-sized meant to feed children? The broth was definitely toned way down compared to a lot of other Vietnamese places I've eaten at. The taste of it was quite good, but it was also toned down to appease everyone. The most authentic part of this meal was the uncooked bean sprouts and the tripe. Speaking of the tripe, I added the tripe to my order. There's a "Large rare steak, brisket, tendon, and tripe" dish for a dollar more. So I'm not sure why I got charged $2.50 (oh by the way, that's also not on the menu) to add tripe to my bowl. Two spring rolls with shrimp: $5.45 Large rare steak and brisket: $8.95 Extra tripe: $2.50 Tax and tip. So while the food was pretty good, I wouldn't consider it authentic by any stretch of the imagination; however, being the only place in town (and I'm pretty sure they know it, so they can charge whatever), it's not bad.
