Shaking Beef, yellow noodles, crispy rolls, avocado bubble tea: Those are my go-to dishes here. This place is never crowded when I'm in there, but I'm really glad they're staying in business because the food is amazing. I'm not even a huge fan of Pho, so if you're not either, you'll easily find other things on the menu that you can eat. Nice vibrant green color scheme and not as shady as the Decker Blvd location. Best Vietnamese food in Columbia, no doubt. It may not be the cleanest place in the world, but it's truly a "mom and pop" spot. I eat here often. This place is terrible. When it comes to vietnamese food I'm pretty easy to please. The food is barely edible here. The service is bad and close to non existent. I ordered pho with well done brisket and the brisket was spoiled. I let the staff know and he mentioned to me that I should try the rare beef next time. He then he proceeded to give me the bill with 18% gratuity added. This was the icing on the cake since the service was terrible. Save your money and go elsewhere. read more

Used to be a fan of this place but will never return again after witnessing one of the chefs use the bathroom (#1) and walk out of the restroom without washing his hands. A minute later after I washed mine, I looked through the kitchen window and witnessed him using his bare hands to place the garnishes for Pho on plates to be served to customers. I informed the first available employee about what I saw and she said she would "talk to him" then continued about her business seemingly without a care in the world. Granted, he could've washed his hands in the kitchen before he touched the food, but I've worked in the restaurant industry and have always been trained that employees must wash their hands before returning to work from the bathroom. That's a chance I'm not willing to take. Especially since the rest of the place looks filthy and could use a serious cleaning. read more

Where we lived before we had one Vietnamese restaurant that closed, so we have been in need of a Vietnamese restaurant for a while. Moving away from home we couldn't be happier that we found this place. My fiancé has more experience than I do with this genre and he thought it was great. My dish was delicious as well. The area is cute too! With small boutiques, bars, and restaurants to walk around and explore. The restaurant is a little worn, but I'm there for the food. There is a TV for sports and the staff is very friendly and efficient. Food was made fast, which was great because we were starving! We ordered the crispy rolls as an appetizer and it was great. Only issue was the sweet chili sauce was a little watery. His pho bowl was great and I had the vermicelli, which I can't wait to have again. I tried the strawberry smoothie for dessert and it was ok. I adore a Vietnamese eatery where there is always a crowd of Vietnamese friends and families gathered, both local and visiting from home! The cheer and jovial conversation albeit predominantly Vietnamese language, is very inviting and pleasant! Pho Viet boasts a broth that's hearty, full bodied & very rich with a bold, meaty collagen content. Chock full of aromatic anise and garlic notes, the green onion and cinnamon presence gives a slightly sweet finish. The amount of their springy, perfectly prepared and served noodles is overly generous, I still haven't finished a serving yet, and this is my 4th visit! Consistency has been my returning variable for sure. But taste, ambiance, pleasant customer service, with a clean, well kept place to dine will keep me returning. Within their location are very funky, eclectic, bars, parks, and stores that are mostly aimed at college aged patrons. The people are very diverse, but everyone here has been sweet each visit. Parking is a task, but sometimes you'll get lucky and a vacant front parking is open on the street. You must be a savvy parallel parker, though! I live 53 miles away, and drive the 1 hour and 23 munutes for delightful service and their pho. The price is 8-10 depending on which protein you order, or don't. I'm used to paying $7 for a bowl of pho, but Colorado and many other states I've lived in have a large Vietnamese population as well as other restaurants that serve pho. Columbia has 2 so far, and the entire state has about 10 pho locations. If you come on the day the broth is made, you may need an extra lime wedge or some nuoc com to add in. Any other time, when the broth has had time to unite all ingredients, all you'll need is your spoon. I will say I recommend Pho Viet for their Pho & boba! read more

Called at 9 to order but got no answer. After calling two more times to no avail, I decided to drive 15 minutes to this location. Got there at 9:35pm and called while talking to the cashier just to see if the phones were down. I watched him pick up the phone and stare at it until it stopped ringing. He then proceeded to tell me that the kitchen closes at 9:30. This isn't listed anywhere on their website or storefront. Really would've saved me a trip and time. Used be decent, but has gone down hill as of late. My friends and I have been going at least twice a month for three years now. The past few experiences we've experienced wrong orders, long wait times (even when we were one of three tables), and watered down pho. The watered down pho was awful. I've never experienced that at Pho Viet over the years but it was very watered down and extremely bland. My friend went earlier the same week and warned me but I thought it was just a bad day but he was right. I don't get anything other than the pho so I will not be returning unless I hear that they stopped watering it down. I don't know if this is to reduce costs or what but you will not retain your customers this way. Very disappointing as there aren't any other pho restaurants that are as close as Pho Viet is. read more
