The service was excellent. Our server was wonderful, even though we had a little difficulty making some of our wishes clear. The fried egg rolls were totally delicious. Our server accommodated our allergy to fish, but we couldn't help him understand that we wanted peanut sauce instead. He thought we didn't want fish sauce or peanut sauce. We stopped by this pho spot on the way to Zion, just looking for some comforting Vietnamese food to break up the drive. It did the job in the most basic sense, but overall, it was pretty underwhelming. We ordered pho tai for my husband and the kids, and I went with a grilled chicken rice dish. The food wasn't terrible, but it didn't really hit the spot either...just kind of mediocre across the board. The broth lacked that depth and richness you hope for in a good pho, and the grilled chicken dish felt a bit forgettable. One thing that stood out was that the place was nearly empty during what should've been a busy lunch hour, which in hindsight probably said a lot. Also, not seeing a proper com tam option under rice category on the menu should've been a bit of a red flag for a Vietnamese spot. I'm so torn on how to review this restaurant, the staff was incredibly friendly and the restaurant is beautiful, the food is great and it has the potential to be a five star restaurant but... The language barrier during the lunch shift, made it really hard to stay positive, but we did and we were kind about it. The four other groups that were in the restaurant, hopefully were too. We wanted to order strawberry tea, a lemonade, two appetizers, a kids chicken pho bowl and sweet-and-sour specialty bowl. The older gentleman, perhaps one of the owners was very apologetic that he couldn't understand what I was trying to order so we gave Grace. He often asked one of the workers in the back to come forward. He couldn't answer my questions about the food either. The helper told me they were out of strawberry tea, Boba tea, sweet-and-sour specialty bowl and so I skipped the drinks and just stuck with the water they brought out. Then I changed to the spicy beef specialty bowl. They never brought out the kids bowl, though I did see one go to the table next to us to an adult who ordered a kid size. Again after the language barrier, we tried to give Grace. We successfully got our two appetizers and my backup bowl. Unfortunately, my bowl was not at all spicy. Totally OK because I ordered it for what was in it rather than the spice level. The older lady who works there was very kind and great with our kids. When she brought out the check, I noticed that it had my original order on there so we had to go try to work through the language barrier at the counter so that we didn't get charged for food that we never received. Unfortunately, again both the older gentleman and the helper in the back didn't understand when I told them that we never got the kids bowl. At the end, we paid for exactly what came to our table so that was great. And the fudge is good, it's exactly what I would've expected. My husband who likes spicy food would have been disappointed because it wasn't spicy. But it really hit the spot and the appetizers were great. Flavorless food. I had the grilled chicken with rice, they served chicken breast that tasted like someone took chicken breast, grilled it and served it without seasoning the chicken at all. The dish came with rice that seemed like it was a few days old and 4 slices of cucumber. The menu said that the dish comes with a side salad, I would not consider 4 slices of cucumber a side salad. The beef banh mi was a small sandwich on stale and unexciting baguette, the beef was again flavorless. The chicken pho did not taste like pho and was not good. We did not eat the food, paid the bill and went to eat elsewhere. We wasted $50. There is no bathroom inside. Seats are cheap and uncomfortable. There were three people working while we were there: the owner who took orders and took payment, an older Asian lady who did not speak English walked around with a cart cafeteria style placing drinks and food on the tables and using the same cart to clean tables (unsanitary). There is also a Hispanic looking cook, which explains why the food does not taste Vietnamese. I don't understand how this place stays in business. Avoid it. read more

Hi Yelpers! I review food based on my own personal experience and taste buds. So, let's start. - I always order their No. 1 which is beef meat combination. It has a lot of protein, big serving but there's lack of beef broth taste on the soup. I don't know what should be done for the soup to taste more beefy, maybe boil the bones and meat more? I don't know.. but the soup has to taste better. - Their crispy egg rolls are the best! I get and eat one order mostly by myself, I can't get enough of it esp. when I dip them on their special fish sauce. So yummy! - Amazing friendly service, they are accurate and fast! - The restaurant is clean, spacious, medium noise and location in a big plaza with a lot of parking. Just got into town from California. Figured some pho would be comforting after a 14hour drive. The service was fine the ambiance was fine. The pho was ok, broth wasnt hot and noods were undercooked. Flavor was good enough to eat. Ordered a grilled pork banh mi to go. When I later opened the bag that it was in, i was surprised to see a hoagie!!! Banh mi's are usually made with a baguette. Also, theres usually pickled daikon and carrots in it with pate spread on the inside. Im not sure what it was that i ate but the carrots and daikon were shredded super thin and didnt taste pickled, more like spoiled. This is not a vietnamese banh mi. Its something else. read more

This is a solid local place for Pho and Vietnamese food. I have had the spring rolls as well as the Pho, which is my favorite. I usually get a #1 which is steak, brisket, and meatballs. Or I'll get a #2 which is just the steak. The portions are large and very filling. Each entree is about $16 plus tax. Plan to spend about $20/person. Service is excellent. The ambience is quaint and personal. This is a great place to go and enjoy a fresh, made to order, bowl of Pho. The location is to get to and the staff were all super friendly. Needed some noodle soup so found this pho place nearby where we were staying. Selections were minimal but that's great because we knew pretty much what we wanted and didn't need to spend a lot of time browsing. Got the special sweet and sour soup and the shrimp and rice noodle dish. Both were good and came in decent portions. I also got the coconut milk tea (without boba) -- it was more coconut milk than tea so it was quite sweet but I didn't mind. Nice to have this option nearby in a pinch. read more

I've new to town from the SF Bay Area, and have been craving some good Asian food. Unfortunately hadn't found anything yet that satisfied my taste, so I was overjoyed the second I tasted the broth! I ordered the 2nd option of pho on the menu, with just the rare steak. The broth wasn't super clear and you had to unstick the noodles (they were stuck together in a ball), but I'm not too picky about that stuff. I couldn't wait to sip that broth and immediately picked up the soup spoon when the pho arrived - so heavenly! It tasted like pho would back home! I'm a slow eater in general, and maybe I was just starved for decent Asian food, but I scarfed down as much as I could eat so fast! The noodles themselves were yummy, or at least were good enough to where I wasn't disappointed enough to notice them. The only thing I would change is the thickness of the meat - I would want them to slice it thinner, as the meat was a bit chewy after it cooked in the broth. I ordered the freshly squeezed lime soda as well, and I will say I enjoyed it immensely! It really did taste like freshly squeezed limes. It was strong and a little tart, and not sweet. I wondered if they put any sugar in there. The taste and tartness didn't linger like it does sometimes when you drink lemonade or syrup heavy sodas. It was refreshing and I would definitely get it again! Cost wise, the pho back in California is much cheaper, however considering there are only a few Vietnamese restaurants here compared to the thousands over there, I would say the price is worth it to pay. The lime soda was also a bit pricey, but it was definitely tasty and I wouldn't mind ordering again as a treat if I was felt like spending a little extra. The ambiance was moody, relaxed and cozy. The lighting was dimmed, a large television screen played some muted sports content (I think), and the decor was quite cool with the traditional nón lá rice hats on the walls and strung up close to the ceiling in a canopy. Note, the restroom is outside in the plaza, there is no private one inside the restaurant. I would recommend this place if you're looking for a date night, to intimately catch up with old friends, or get to know a new friend on a deeper level. read more

The pho was tepid and the noodles were sick in a solid brick in the middle. This is the worst pho that I've ever had. The noodles were terrible. They tasted like oil and we couldn't eat more than two bites. Service was not great. When someone came to pick up our table they asked how things were. I told them that the noodles tasted strongly of oil and were not good at all. They said "thanks for your criticism" and walked away. You know the saying, "Don't let perfect be the enemy of good"? That's how I feel about the pho from this spot. Full disclosure, I've had some exceptional pho in my lifetime. Bowls upon bowls of it. If I were a glutton for disappointment, I could hold all pho to the standard of the best pho I've ever had and my life would be thusly miserable. Or I could choose to not be a egotistical turd and recognize that I'm in a small town in a culturally homogeneous state, so it's probably not wise to expect this place to live up to what I can find in bigger cities with more food diversity. To be clear, this is not a subpar pho spot. It is simply good - what's so wrong about that? Given the lack of other options, it will absolutely satisfy the hankering in a pinch. Maybe I'm weird or maybe people just like to complain about everything on Yelp, but I'd rather have good pho instead of no pho at all. Upsides: Portions sizes are decent. Broth is good on its own. Usually not busy (food diversity still has a long way to go in STG). Fair prices. Clean. Downsides: Limited bahn mi options (no vegetarian). Their portion sizes leave a lot to be desired, and they seem to be really holding back on flavor. Don't waste your time or money. Came in here Thursday, May 20. There is nothing authentic about this place. The pork and noodles dish was really bland, no seasoning or flavor whatsoever. The pho is not authentic but you are in St George Utah. We take what we can get and this is the only Pho in town. It's good when you need a bowl We usually call it in and go pick it up and they never have it ready and act like you are crazy and never even called. This has happened several times now. Another fabulous find!! I'm used to eating CA pho so I didn't have much expectation for pho all the way out in Utah.... what a nice surprise!! We ordered rare steak pho and I ordered spicy beef stew soup with noodles (bun bu hue)... and it actually had a kick which I really liked!! I really like both of the broths.... deep and savory.... And service with a smile by a server NOT Asian!! Lol... I, honestly, haven't seen too many Asians in this area....
