Roaches!!! We were shocked to find a roach crawling around our food and table right after it was served. It eventually dropped to the floor, and I had to step on it. We let the staff know and I sent my food back, and to their credit, they did comp one of our dishes. However, when my husband explained the issue in Vietnamese, it felt like they didn't really care or take it seriously. Roaches can happen, especially in restaurants, but what bothered us most was the lack of response or accountability after we left. That's not something we can overlook. Rather than bus the dishes away from a table, they brought out a cart that had a huge "slop bucket" where they disposed of all table waste. I couldn't help but see them clearing two tables near me. They give a kids portion for regular size and it cost $12. Not with it. Broth was standard but coming from LA/OC region this def misses the mark. Coming from LA, you get tons of pho restaurants back home. Pho Vu is a good stop for authentic Vietnamese food out here in Rancho Mirage. One of only a few out here in the Palm Springs area. Worth the stop in if you're in the mood for some hot pho noodles. They also have good fried egg rolls. The service was also good, with indoor seating available. Credit card also okay. We went with the pho noodles with the beef steak and brisket. They have other meats available. The soup is delicious. Also for those hearty eaters, get the large order for $1 more. I ordered the Springs Rolls and Beef Pho. The Springs Roll had no flavor in the roll, this was disappointing as I love Springs roll and love to make them. The peanut sauce tastes lime it's out of a jar. I hope they look I to this because the Pho was so good. The taste was just right. All of their bowls cost somewhere between $14-15, which is a little higher than some other places but not the most expensive either. The location was inside a large strip mall. There's plenty of parking so that's always a big plus. When you walk in, mask is required upon entering. You're greeted by the hostess, cashier. We were asked to look at the menu or take a picture of it. As menus were not handled out. You could order from her and from your waiter. It was taped onto of a table to side of the cashier. From there, we got a table. Mainly the booth were open and some individual table in the middle of the restaurant. Ordered the combo pho, spring rolls, combination fried rice, egg rolls and asian wings. Pho was good, price wise it was moderate. Kind of the same at others place. The spring roll was ok. Egg rolls, a bit overdone but ok. Rice was good. But the wings were pretty good. I believe they're know for it. Did notice that a lot of other people had ordered it as well. It was fair. - 3.25 stars overall Ordered a few appetizers. - Deep fried tofu (fell flat, didn't have a nice coating, like the one i am used to, it had breading type of coating on it, tofu texture wasn't the greatest), comes with spicy dipping sauce, but when requested they did bring out soy w vinegar sauce - Goi Cuon was made with iceberg lettuce, didn't look as fresh as I have had at other places, needs more greens or herbs to brighten it up. It was tasty though and the hoisin peanut sauce was legit / tasty - Their deep fried eggrolls were the best out of the 3. Good size, good taste. Could use more lettuce though. Not pictured was the beef pho. - We ordered a small and a large - The kids didn't like the pho, they were only eating the noodles part For 4 adults and 2 children, portions were decent. Such a shame that the food is excellent, but the service is quite subpar. I came here with a large party, and at the end of our meal, the check arrived with an automatic tip, understandable, but it was calculated after tax instead of before, which made a noticeable difference since the subtotal was quite large. I asked the server to remove the automatic tip so I could write my own, but when they checked with a man in a Gucci shirt, he looked at me and insisted the tip is supposed to be before tax. Bunch of crap, I pulled out my phone and did the math right there, yet he still seemed skeptical. It took me asking three times before they finally refunded the charge so I could write my own tip. The tip went from 18% to 15%. It would have been 18% and taken 5 minutes if he hadn't lied to my face, instead, it took 15. If a customer asks to change the tip, ask why then change the tip instead of trying to argue with the customer. read more

Moved to the desert from LA and was afraid we'd never find Vietnamese food (my fav) but TG we found this gem, they are hands down the best Vietnamese food in the desert! We come here all the time. Super fresh, super fast, the friendliest staff. They get busy in the winter but always have seating! The pho is soooooo good, the flavor is amazing! Regarding peoples "grungy inside" comments..it's not a fancy restaurant, it adds to the vibe!! Most Vietnamese and Asian restaurants have this vibe.
