A solid place for Pho with the family or by yourself! Skepticism of food quality and taste can occur while eating pho at a place that is aesthetically pleasing, but this place served it's purpose and I'lm glad I tried it. The lineup for my dinner experience featured the Vietnamese fried egg rolls accompanied with fresh whole lettuce leaves, sliced cucumber, and a sweet vinegar dipping sauce. I ate those deep fried bad boys with out a care in the world and it was worth it. Sometimes you just need a little grease. Then, I dove into a steaming hot bowl of seafood pho. The only qualms I have with this dish was the quality of seafood was not my taste. I was not a fan of the imitation crab, the fish balls lacked in heartiness and flavor, and the squid was minimal. However, broth and noodles were good. For me the food was A-OK. What makes me a fan of this place and will have me returning to try something else out was the staff. Went here with a friend recently and I conflicted about our experience. I ordered pho with chicken and brisket. The broth, noodles and the chicken were good but the brisket was entirely made up of fat. We also ordered pork spring rolls and those were delicious. Overall, food is fine but I would stay far away from the brisket. Service is good and server gladly removed the additional brisket charge for me when I asked. I would have given this place 5 stars if they de-turded the shrimp. I love shrimp but hate to see the line of crap sticking out of their backs. Especially when it is in my pho broth. First time here and it was disappointing. I'm also like others who have tried some of the best pho in Westminster, but I do not know how they liked the taste of this pho. The first thing we tried was the hot tea... all three of us thought it tasted the way a bathroom smelled lol. It was like a strong air freshener. Deduct one star. Then our food arrived. Two chicken phos and one BBQ pork with rice plate. The pho did not taste good. It's flavor was average at best, and I did not like the chicken they used... it was like skinny little pieces of rubber. There wasn't even enough chicken. When they brought out the bean sprouts, basil, and limes for both of our soups, they did not bring nearly enough basil nor lime -.- Deduct another point. Oh! And the BBQ pork ribs had too much fat. On their radio station, a Miley Cyrus song came on (we can't stop?). Deduct another point. What can I say....i really don't like Pho, but luckily this place has some awesome other dishes available for those that prefer something other than noodle soup...what I like to call it lol. Ok to be honest it taste ok, I can handle it but....sometimes I just want some beef and chicken and shrimp to tear into. #93 combination chow mein does the trick for this, I've been here 3 times and I can't seem to stray away from it. Maybe next time I'll try something else....maybe. The chow mein is thin and juicy, the meat is extremely tasty. I wish there were more shrimp in the mix but then I think I always want more shrimp in everything. The plate has a combination of flavors in it which makes it unique. Every time I eat it I'm satisfied and dont have that after feeling of, "oooh i shouldnt have eaten that." I don't feel like a guilty kid who ate all his Halloween candy and continued to eat his brothers Holloween candy. Service here is good. The waiters and waitresses are real nice but of the three times I've been here they always seem to forget something in our order. But that's about the only complain I have about the service, otherwise it's good and I enjoy my stay. Oh yeah!! They really need to get a restroom INSIDE the restaurant...not out back. My wife is pregnant so she has to go every half second or so and letting her walk in the dark alley in the back to go to the restroom is not option....so I have to go with her, we leave our food, walk around, do our thing, walk back around and continue eating. Very authentic and reminds me of my mom's cooking that I miss so so much. First time here and I wasn't disappointed. My girlfriend and I were hungry and looking for something good to eat. I've eaten pho only a handful of times, so my palate for it isn't well seasoned. There weren't many people here at the time, maybe two tables. We were immediately greeted by the host/server. We sat at a booth and the server brought us two glasses of ice water and the menus. We took our time ordering and finally decided on the rare beef pho, pork fried rice, and beef and broccoli over broken rice Everything we ate there was delicious. The portions were large and the flavor was just as big. And the prices were low especially for the flavor packed meal we had. Between the two of us the bill came out to $25. For a local pho joint, this place ain't so bad. They've got a menu with a wide variety of items and different types of pho.. so it's a legit pho place. The broth has gotten better over the years I think. But they give you a generous portion and with all the fix ins' : bean sprouts, lime, basil, etc. I have also had the vermicelli and the short rib plate, both have been pretty good! Service is good, they are on top of refilling your water and such... not bugging you unless you call them over. The restaurant itself has also expanded since the last time I had come. My husband and I come here very frequently. They have the best pho, fried rice, and calamari. The flavors are on point, everything is seasoned great and no matter what you order you will be happy. Pho is one of those small local family run restaurants which I LOVE to support. Being run by a Thai staff it brings a nice personal touch to the service. Unfortunately that's as far as it goes. The restaurant itself is nice. It is very clean. The reality though is it could be anything. A coffee shop, a thrift store, a doctor's office waiting room. The walls are a coffee with cream kind of brown with nothing that would indicate what it is hanging on the walls. It was full throughout the night which is good. I would like to see improvements in creating a unique dining experience instead of going out of business. I ordered Thai Tea, one of my favorites and it is brought out in a plastic to go cup with a lid on it. Am I a 3 year old? I wasn't ordering my drink to go. Is this a subtle hint for me to leave. I am an adult, and as such ask that when I am dining in I be given a glass for my beverages. It's not too much to expect. I asked for one of my favorite Thai appetizers and unfortunately they don't make it. The waiter looked at me like I was ordering sliced baby seal. I wasn't. It is a standard in every single Thai restaurant I have ever been in throughout the world. That's ok though. It gives me an opportunity to dive deep and I consider that a win/win. The server suggests the calamari. I also ordered the Pad Thai Combo and ask that he picks his favorite thing on the menu and surprise me. I love doing that at new restaurants. It really shows their creativity. The calamari arrives. Beautifully breaded pieces, not too tough, not too soft with just the right amount of seasoned flour. It is tossed with grilled rough cut red pepper, sautéed jalapeño slices and sautéed dough cut onion. It laid on a bed of leaf lettuce that looked like it was man handled and tossed with absolutely zero care. It came with no sauce to dip in. I am not a fan of jalapeños so I pick them out, yet enjoy the hint of spice they left behind in the dish. Just a whisper of heat. The dish was very nice. It could have used a sause of anything and the presentation was below standard. The waiter then brought out my surprise item. It was a Filet diced and tossed with the same onions and peppers used in the calamari dish. The dish tossed in a really nice brown sauce. It was very good! Served with a side of fried rice it was flavorful and filling. It had grilled slices of tomato set on top of the rice, totally unnecessary. It was a bit too much rice, but the exact right amount of filet. I asked the server what exactly the sauce was and he said he did not know, the owner made it and had left for the night. Too bad. It would have been nice too know. Once again the presentation was unoriginal, boring, and simply piled on with as much pride as a factory line machine screwing in a bolt. The Pad Thai came out next and things took a turn for the worst. The presentation was horrible. The noodles over cooked, the veggies over cooked and it had broccoli in it. A first for me. It looked tired, sad, worn out, uninspired and quite honestly like it had been sitting under a heat lamp for several days. Yikes! While flavorful, the broccoli added just a hint of bitterness which detracted from the sweet savory combination found in other restaurants. It was missing chopped peanuts and was a real miss. There were nice pieces of chicken, shrimp and beef but the entire reason why I live Pad Thai was just not there. It was positively the worst serving of Pad Thai I have ever eaten. Very disappointing. I finished up my filet and calamari. Boxed the Pad Thai and left. The service was very good. The staff attentive, friendly and efficient. They were very good about treating customers as they entered and thanking you and sending you off with a smile as you left. A real mix of things done well with thing done mediocre or just poorly. Thus a three star review. Far from the best, overall far from the worst, but that Pad Thai needs serious work. Seriously! If you aren't going to do it right, then put it into the we don't make it pile with your missing angel wings. I don't think I would recommend this place. I can think of several other Thai Restaurants in the area that are substantially better in every category. Unfortunately, I think this will be the first and last time at this place. Too bad. I had the Grilled Pork Chop on Broken Rice with an Egg Loaf...the Pork Chop and Rice were tasty but I wasn't to keen on the Egg Loaf....so I will pass on that next time. The broth is good, not great, but at least they get the temperature right - nice and hot! The noodles are nice and chewy and again, large serving. I had the special combo #1, hold the rare beef (asked for extra tendon and they were more than willing to oblige) and the wife had #2 (brisket, rare and well done beef). We also shared the fried calamari, which was excellent. Would go 5 stars on that since it was a unique Asian take on a classic. Service was fast and friendly, solid 4 stars. This is a fabulous Vietnamese restaurant that has proven itself not only by the delicious food but in doing so well over the past two years it has been able to expand its space from a tiny two booth, five tabletop and single seat bar to taking over the space next door and expanding to a seven booth eight tabletop and single seat bars pots that can handle large parties! The pho is fabulous and flavorful, the vermicelli is amazing and my favorite #88 Combination Crispy Rice Noodles are insanely delicious especially after letting the flavorful sauce soak and soften up the crispy noodles! Went for lunch on Saturday, and went back Sunday! First, service was fast, helpful and attentive. Add to this that we were remodeling a house, so we looked rather like bums. Second, we really liked the food. I cannot attest to authenticity, but my Korean ribs salad was pretty darn tasty, my tofu was cooked crispy, the way I like it. My wife liked the pho, and loved the ban-mi she ordered with a side of vegetable broth. We asked for extra broth, and they handled it with aplomb. (We like to dip our bánh mì, though it may be a pho faux pas. Some Vietnamese restaurants look askance as this.) Parking can be a challenge here, but we found a spot on the street and walked. 2 lunches with tax and tip were well under $30. We will be back. This is probably one of cleanest and newest pho places I have been to where they don't sacrifice cleanliness for taste. In regards to the size of the bowl and price, it is across the board compared to other pho places. They offer small and large-sized bowls and range from $8-$10 a pop. I got the #4 small pho which came with rare beef and tripe. This location does not skimp on the noodles and the broth was not very oily. The noodles were the right amount of chewy and the ingredients they used were fresh, which definitely made an impact on the overall dish. In regards to the service, our server brought extra onions, bean sprouts, mint leaves, and limes out first thing along with our water. When my friend's mom was overlooked during the ordering period, the server made sure to ask what she wanted to order. I thought that was very gentlemanly of him and that was a kickoff to great service. Like most pho places, the broth was already made so the service was speedy.
